Holiday Wedding and Party Inspiration

This first ornament could actually make a lovely favor and place card for a wedding any time of the year. I love how they used an old jar lid as a pedestal. You could glam it up with some spray paint. I wonder, perhaps you display their name inside the ornament. You could replace the flower with a leaf for a thanksgiving place card.

Everyone is stuffed after a big celebration meal, but they still want that pie. Pie pops are an alternative to get that sweet dose, and guests can save them for later. These pie pops by Cake Pop LA come in the favorite holiday flavors such as, apple, pumpkin, and cinnamon sugar.

If you are planning a beach wedding during winter or just want to bring the coastal life into home, these seashell ornaments are an easy project. For a costal Christmas, I envision a tree with several of these clear seashell ornaments, starfish and sand dollars, and silver ribbon.

Apple butter is one of those things that remind me of winter when I was a child. You can make this apple butter in the crock-pot (oh, I bet this will make the house smell so good) and jar as a favor. Create a cute tag or sticker to personalize for guests and use a favor for fall wedding guests. If you are having overnight guests or a holiday brunch create a biscuit bar with apple butter and jam.

Favorite Brides in Cardigans

Create a rainbow of fun with the bridal party in bright fun cardigans. You could also use various shades of a natural color for a more sophisticated look.

Honestly I am usually not a fan of wedding dresses with a little glitter, but I love this combination. Looks so classy with a soft ballerina style cardigan and creamy color of the dress. The groom stays warm too, with a scarf.

So simple and sweet this ribbon belt could be a DIY project to complete the look. Or, grab a bright leather belt to cinch. Coordinate with the shades of your flowers or grooms attire.

Don’t forget your smallest favorite girls. Dress your flower girl with a simple dress with a cardigan to match. Give them sweet style with a matching fabric flower.

Wedding Inspiration in Turquoise and Copper

This wedding inspiration board is inspired by some of Moore Creative’s recent beach invitation designs that combines natural metallic palette with vibrant turquoise.

Add a touch of glamour to a flowing wedding dress with metallic details and embroidery. Carry over the embellishments in your cake by incorporating a similar design.

Bridesmaids wear a silky copper toned dress.  Paired with a soft neutral scarf this would be great for a fall. (And a big plus is not so expensive  at $65.) They carry a bouquet of roses, orchids, and scabiosa in various natural shades and copper complemented by a turquoise bow.

Incorporating the copper into your wedding bands adds a personal touch. Even for the guys there are so many options today on rings, it’s no longer just silver or gold.

Tables are quite a display with metallic chairs and turquoise liens. Vary the heights of centerpiece displays with low copper vases and tall clear ones for a dramatic effect. Fill them with the soft cream and white roses and orchids cascading out.

The use of metallic is great if you are looking to add a touch of glamour to your wedding day palette.

Southern Wedding Details

Cotton adds a southern touch to floral decor. The bridal bouquet with a stunning gathering of flowers and cotton wrapped with lace makes a gorgeous statement. Combine a single cotton boutonniere with a sweet bow tie and you’ve got a look for a southern gentleman.

Being from Georgia, the peach state, I absolutely love peaches. They do not only make delicious desserts (oh, peach cobbler) but beautiful centerpiece or escort cards. Peaches are tender and delicate fruit that offers a beautiful texture. This fruit lends to a comforting and rich wedding decor.

Monograms are big part of southern culture. Display your new-shared monogram with moss-covered letters. If you prefer a not so rustic display a sophisticated wooden monogram. Or, wear your monogram by having beautiful custom necklace made for on your wedding day. Honor someone special with his or her monogrammed handkerchief wrapped around your bouquet.

Boots make fun country photos. You could wear those beautiful heels you have been dying for the ceremony, and then switch it up for a casual reception. And, who could resist a big bouquet of sunflowers.

Southern traditions can be incorporated into any wedding. I wanted to share a few more traditions that anyone can take cues from: pearls, cokes, barbeque, sweet tea, and red velvet cake.

Modern Orange and Green Destination Wedding

In this inspiration board loved ones receive a lime green invitation topped with a starfish. When they arrive to our modern destination they are invited in with orange paper lanterns. The ceremony is held on the beach with a rooftop reception to follow.

The bridal party is dressed in a sleek gray. Green ties for the men brighten the look. A chevron strip pattern for the flower girl’s dress adds fun. The bride carries a bouquet of orange, green, and white flowers. (I like the green leaves forming the outside of the bouquet.) While the bridesmaids carry bouquets of white and green. Green floral creates accents throughout the wedding decor.

The rooftop reception has a view of the ocean. Modern tablescape includes a solid orange tablecloth and white chairs. Unique candleholders provide ambiance.

Make a statement with your food. These cupcakes’ presentation not only makes it look so delicious, but sophisticated. (The link below includes the recipe!) Porcelain white plates would contrast will against the orange tablecloth. I might suggest place settings with square dinner plates, orange and white patterned napkins, and gray napkin rings.

Many people worry over the color palette of a beach wedding in the fall. This board takes typical fall colors of orange and green, but uses lively tones for the beach. My advice if there is color you must have, go for it no matter the season. You can always throw in a rich complimentary color for the cooler months.

Eco Friendly Wedding Favors

Biodegradable confetti is a safe and clean option for the departure toss. Once the confetti is wet it disintegrates. This confetti can be found in many colors and shapes such as, multi-colored hearts found here. I also found confetti that can be planted from Nature Favors on Etsy. Leaf shaped confetti is perfect for fall and holds the seeds for a blend wildflowers. Incorporate in decoration on the tables and give them as favors for guests to plant and enjoy in the spring.

Another big contributor to wedding day trash is the supplies for the food and drinks. The striped straws from Emerald + Ella are not only cute, but they are biodegradable as well. You can collect glass jars to serve the drinks in for overall fun eco look. There are some many ways to recycle to cut down on waste in this area. I found this pin from Design Sponge to make cocktail napkins from old sheets. Pinterest has many pins going around on how to make a cake stand from a candlestick and a plate (such as this one from Eat Drink Pretty.)

Share the joy of creating a beautiful healthy earth with your guests by giving them a tree to plant. If your guests are city dwellers or buying a sapling for everyone is not feasible, there are organizations that will plant a tree in their honor. Leave a small note that states a tree is being planted in their honor and the organization you have donated to.

By creating your own handmade favors you can control the products used to make them. (And homemade always adds a special touch.) Make candles from soy wax and add a your favorite scent. Use recycled jars or vintage teacup for the container. Homemade soap with essential oils and dried flowers leaves out harmful chemicals. Package either homemade gift with a tag with a thank you and the scent.

The other great thing about many of these handmade and recycled wedding ideas is not only are they eco friendly, but budget friendly too.

Purple and Green Fall Wedding that is Eco Friendly

Set in an open field, this wedding would be perfect for a destination wedding in the foothills of the mountains. This purple invitation of hand made paper gives a little rustic appeal for fall.

Choose local flowers are various shades of purple to decoration and bouquets. Mix deep purple with softer shades of violet and greenery. The fern is in season during the fall and a single fern shoot makes a great boutonniere. For centerpieces, collect old glass bottles to reuse as vases. Recycle old light bulbs by making them into a hanging vase. This would be cute to have hanging from the trees around the tables. They may also make a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony with several hanging down at altering lengths behind the bride and groom. Moss covered initials add to the natural feeling, but with a modern touch.

The pleated collar on this bridesmaid dress is a cute fall style. (I would love to add this dress to my wardrobe.) This dreamy wedding dress is created from an old vintage slip. The skirt is from revived taffeta fabric and synched at the waist with a vintage sash.

I love how the natural colors of brown and green combine with shades of purple for this wedding.

Destination Wedding Inspiration in Aqua and Coral

The Moore Creative invitation for this destination wedding is sandy brown with blue details. A bamboo and blue raffia details play up the beach location. An accompanying sheet to gives all the important destination details.

The bamboo from the invitation is carried over to the canopy where the ceremony takes place. The canopy that is draped in white makes the bride and groom the focal point against the beautiful backdrop o the ocean.

Bridesmaid dresses in bright coral are eye catching and sophisticated. A sleek ponytail accessorized with a big flower is always a great choice for a beach hair. Complete the look with a chunky aqua jeweled necklace or bracelet. The men wear tan suits with aqua ties to complement.

For destination wedding in Mexico a Mariachi band creates the perfect atmosphere at the reception.

I love the tropical feel of the bright flowers. (I could not find the name.) They go perfectly in a bouquet or alone. It is a wonderful idea to use an individual flowers at each place setting.

The pop of coral against the aqua blue is striking. Paired with the sands of the beach and the backdrop of the ocean this color palette is stunning and bright.
