Re: Calling SQLBindParameter() to bind SQL_TIMESTAMP_STRUCT as SQL_C_TYPE_TIMESTAMP, avoiding a datetime overflow.

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 16:52:15 -0000

To save someone else a day an a half, binding a SQL_DATETIME (using Linux MSSQL drivers) will only return the date. You need to bind the column to a SQL_TIMESTAMP with a SQL_TIMESTAMP_STRUCT, sizeof (SQL_TIMESTAMP_STRUCT) for it to work.

You didn't mention in your post - what's the advantage in all of this? Why do you not want to use cURL?

Nice solution (and it did work for me).

However, I suggest adding CDATA support by using:
$r = simplexml_load_string($res, 'SimpleXMLElement', LIBXML_NOCDATA);;
instead of
$r = simplexml_load_string($res);

Re: HTTP POST from PHP, without cURL

Thanks so much for this alternative to cURL! I have been pulling my hair out for days because the REST service I am trying to access has an apparent bug which NO ONE over at the Big Corporation running things seems to give a bucket of spittle about... So, thanks for pointing me in a direction that helped me to create a more reliable solution. My curl routine worked about 70% of the time... other times it simply timed out and hanged... no errors, no responses, nothing. Ugh! Thanks again!

Re: Diet + Weight loss

Tue, 22 Jan 2013 03:59:32 -0000

Regular usage of Psyllium husk once in a month also helps weight loss by keeping your metabolism rate since it acts on the digestive organs. Also, it is very important that when you take psyllium husk, you drink extra water to ensure that the psyllium can move through the colon with ease. Psyllium fibers absorb waste in the stomach and removes it out from the colon.

Psyllium should always be taken on an empty stomach – that is 1 hour to 30 minutes before breakfast and/or lunch and/or supper. Regular intake of Psyllium Husk promotes in losing extra pounds from stuck body toxins. Regular exercise and healthy diet while taking Psyllium Husk will greatly help to speed up losing unwanted body fats.

For people looking at this there is a Drupal Module that can do this: http://drupal.org/project/h...
Also noted is Guzzle can do it using cURL as well: https://github.com/guzzle/g...

Re: Diet + Weight loss

I think that's just a nuance of the trending algorithm that trendweight uses, but I don't have another scale to verify against :-) I put my own app together to trend it before their latest round of updates and the trend line positioning varies based on how you calculate the rolling average. I suspect that if I deleted the initial 200lb reading it would more closely match the scale reading. Or if I wasn't already losing weight so rapidly by the time I got the scales.

I suspect that there is a tweak you could have made to a combination of your diet and how you did the cycling to reduce the amount of muscle you developed, but since I already had the leg muscle I didn't need to figure it out!

Re: Diet + Weight loss

Very interesting! Quick question: why are the scale readings on your graph all below the weight trend? Had you measured it as being 5lbs under-calibrated?

I tried losing weight by cycling, once. I got a smaller tummy, but my legs turned into powerhouse tree trunks. Net gain of 5kg.

Re: Diet + Weight loss

Wed, 26 Dec 2012 23:02:12 -0000

I lost weight because I had a calorie deficit. Cutting out the carbs helped with the deficit, but make no mistake: a weight loss diet is starving yourself. The sustainable part comes in when you want to maintain your weight.

Re: Diet + Weight loss

You list weight bc of the reduced carbs. Just go low carb and you won't have to starve yourself which will make the whole thing sustainable. All calories are not created equal.
