HAVOC is HERE and it's FREE!!!

As promised, I have finally finished HAVOC and it's totally FREE!

Here is the link to get it in all formats:

This completes the Descendants Saga and I hope everyone enjoys the novella.

What you talkin' bout, Willis?!

Yes, HAVOC is coming in the next few days and I'm going to release it FREE TO EVERYONE!

Well, it's simple: I've taken longer than planned to finish it and its more like a novella...honestly, I finished what I wanted to say for Descendants and like someone else said, its been nine novels. I hate to drag things out and pad it with nothing productive, so HAVOC will be free to the public and comes in at about 114 pages. I'm toying with the idea of adding these pages on at the end of Crisis for future readers, but that won't affect anyone getting it free now. I'll have it out there free no matter what!

Now, in order to get the novel free, I'm going to place it on Smashwords and it will be available in all formats that Smashwords handles, including Amazon Kindle. I'm hoping it will pass through the online system from Smashwords and show up on Amazon as a free novel pretty quickly, but I'm not going to put it directly on Amazon unless it never shows up at all...placing it directly on Amazon would require a .99cent price point...I just want it to be free for everyone who's been waiting so long for it to come out.

At any rate, I'll post the SMASHWORDS LINK here on my website as soon as it releases!

Since, Descendants will be finished, I've got another NOVEL IDEA cooking, called:

"CIRCLE OF SE7EN" and I'm really excited about it. Doing the world-building already and hoping for an epic tale, so stay tuned!

Another Update...

So, I'm back on the blog after months away...last we met I left a tidbit of HAVOC from the Descendants Saga. I hope it was well-received. First off, thanks for all comments and questions and inquiries into my novels....thanks for all of the awesome reviews on Amazon, etc...I've been so busy over the past year that it's been extremely difficult to stay my previous course on novel writing. However, I still have every intention on finishing HAVOC and releasing it as soon as possible. I'm going to have to plead a PATRICK ROTHFUSS on the date at this moment, but it's still coming.

I can say that HAVOC will probably be my last Descendants novel, so I'm going to attempt to tie up loose ends as I finish up the story. I had considered pulling more out of it, but it's like the 9th novel and that's more than enough for any series and way more than I originally intended when I got started.

At any rate, I have another big idea brewing for a new series...but there's been so much work going on with Nursing School and trying to advance my healthcare career that I've had little time to give to novel case most of you are unaware: many, many, many, (okay, MOST), self-published authors like myself are still holding down daytime jobs. I've been extremely blessed by the Lord to be able to write and publish and sell as many books and audiobooks as I have. But working a regular career is still needful and rewarding in its own right and, like so many, I have a family to take care of too.

At any rate, NO EXCUSES just EXPLANATIONS on why HAVOC is still not finished...but it will be :)

Small caveat: My Bachelor's in Nursing is going well and I'm on a break, so hopefully (in between working) I can get more done on HAVOC!

Hello all Descendants fans...yes, i'm still working on Havoc, while also attending Nursing School! All is well, and I thought maybe a brief excerpt from the novel might provide a little taste of what's coming when Havoc releases...So, enjoy! The Audience is ListeningI need to look on the bright side—I’ve not been eaten alive…yet—Jonathan ParksLaughter—maniacal laughter. This is what Brody West hears as he sweeps Malak-esh behind his head, striking a charging zombie, before driving it forward again into the chest of another. The sound seems to be coming from everywhere, or perhaps it is only in his head. No one else—none of the zombies, or the soldiers fighting in vain for their lives—seems to hear it. Brody cannot block it out. He uses his divine weapon as a focus for his power. Each time he strikes one of the rabid creatures, Brody discharges his power through the blade, igniting a white hot flame within the raging monsters that devours them from within in seconds. Each swipe of Malak-esh reduces another human monster to ash. These plague victims resemble their former human selves only because they have the characteristic shape of men. Otherwise, they appear as monsters more than men. Their clothes are shredded, hanging as soiled and bloody ribbons upon their gaunt frames. Despite what flesh these ravenous creatures may have recently consumed, their hypermetabolism has burned the calories away, leaving them only with an insatiable appetite for prey. A hunger that knows no bounds drives them to kill everyone that crosses their paths.Once a watcher from afar, Brody West has now become a warrior, entering the fray this horrifying plague has generated. Brody has killed these monsters before when necessary, but never has he faced so many. He strikes another down, and another, and another. They come from every direction, relentless and unyielding. There is no notion of fear upon their faces. There is no sign of retreat, even when he raises Malak-esh to rend their flesh with white hot fire. Rather than flee at the danger, they rush forward and are cut down.Sheer numbers continually force Brody to retreat. He can only engage so many at one time before leaping away. The trouble is open ground is rapidly becoming hard to find.Throwing himself away again, before the onrushing ghouls can get hold of him, Brody lands upon one of the parked support vehicles. Only a moment ago, one of the soldiers had been attempting to hide inside, or at least barricade himself within. It didn’t last. Zombies crashed through the windows of the van, chasing him from the front of the vehicle into the rear compartment. There they had him.Brody lands upon the roof of the van. Almost instantly, the tide of plague victims changes course to take up pursuit. They scrabble over one another like insects, attempting to be the first to reach him upon his perch.Malak-esh shines with brilliant light each time he strikes down one of the horde, discharging its power through the victims, immolating them in seconds. The sword creates a strobe effect, illuminating the GCHQ building behind him, casting shadows of grizzled forms with reaching hands upon the walls. Still, Brody realizes his efforts here outside the building are not doing much good. The soldiers in the courtyard are already dead, or dying, and his great grandchildren await him inside. He had hoped to stay the tide of zombies from gaining access to the flying saucer-shaped building, but it doesn’t look like he or anyone else will be able to stop them.Yet, the laughter in his head only increases with his efforts.“Bravo!” the voice shouts between bouts of cackling as Brody swings Malak-esh, dividing a raging man’s head from his body.He wants to believe that it might be Black or Southresh, but either appearance would be impossible. Black’s host was destroyed back in the city of Trinity upon the spiritual plane before a terrible conflagration from the Lord destroyed it all. Southresh, also, was defeated and [...]

What A Year! Updates, etc...

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who have read my novels. Descendants Saga and the continuing Crisis Sequence have been probably the most popular with fans and I'm grateful for that....your interest has made it so.

My writing has slowed somewhat over the past year due to some family issues that have been very difficult...circumstances that have forced me into changes I never expected, to be honest. However, the Lord, as always, is good and He has brought me through one of the most heartbreaking years of my life.

Some doors have closed, others have been opened... I have recently returned to school working on a BSN. This is a natural progression since I've been a surgical tech for nearly 20 years, and the Lord is blessing in it.

Many of you have left comments wanting to know when more novels are coming out...particularly HAVOC as the next descendants book. While circumstances over the past year made for a slow start, I'm happy to report that HAVOC is well underway and I hope to release it in the near future. HAVOC will bring an end to the Crisis Sequence trilogy, but will also open up a new storyline for Descendants...I'm not through writing these stories yet and I'm glad you've enjoyed them so far. It is meant to be ONE story, despite me breaking it into separate parts, like CRISIS SEQUENCE, and Brody West remains at the heart of that story.

At this point I've only had the spare time to keep working on Descendants novels, so I apologize for those of you who are looking forward to the long overdue  sequel to A World Within... I just haven't had the time to focus on it lately, but it's started and I still hope to finish it when I finish school and get that behind me.

All that to say, I appreciate fans of these stories and I hope you'll continue on the journey with me... I'm anxious to see what happens next myself!

BTW: FOR ANYONE WHO DIDN'T KNOW ALREADY, I RECENTLY RELEASED A NEW NOVEL ENTITLED, "RAVENS HAND." It's a new fantasy with a new world and characters and some cool things case you're looking for something to read at the moment??

I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday....try not to get crushed in the lines to see the next Star Wars--which looks awesome by the way.

As Havoc approaches release day, I will post updates... until then... God bless!

In an effort to reconcile the Descendant's Saga Books with the Descendant's Saga Crisis Sequence storyline, I have uploaded some new covers for all that hopefully make it clear this is all one story. At the moment print covers are still the same, but may change in the future as well. Print covers require a lot more doing and process to change ;) CRISIS *SPOILERS AHEAD* In addition, I have an update on Descendant's Saga Crisis Sequence #3 "HAVOC" which takes place immediately on the heels of "CRISIS." Brody West--a.k.a. The Watcher--has caught up with Jonathan Parks, Garth and Cassie at the GCHQ building in Gloucestershire and has begun to engage the horde of plague victims attacking the facility... This is how CRISIS ends and how HAVOC will begin. I've taken a short break from writing recently, as I'm back in college at the tender age of 44, working toward physician assistant school, hopefully next year. Working in surgery for nearly 20 years now, this is a bit of a step up for me and I hope to be accepted for the 2016 program by the end of this year. Needless to say, lots to accomplish and writing my novels is only one of those things on my plate...but I'm still writing. As a matter of fact, the Lord just allowed me a bit of an epiphany on the Descendant's Saga storyline and I have a great new direction to take the story now that I didn't before. Rather than believing HAVOC would be the last novel for Descendants, I now see at least HAVOC and one or two more in order to flesh out the new ideas. I had even considered killing off Brody West for HAVOC (if it was to be the last) but I've scrapped that idea, and he'll be integral to the remaining novels as well as the new characters in Crisis Sequence, and possibly some returning characters who've been a long while in hiding...more on why they would be hiding and what happened to Sadie and Cole while Brody was transporting through time coming up in the new storyline!! At any rate, I'm excited about the new direction, and HAVOC WILL BE A PIVOTAL BOOK for where the Descendant's story is headed as well as explaining some things that Brody West still doesn't understand about what he missed while traveling through time from WWII era to our present day. I hope all DESCENDANTS FANS will hang on for the rest of the ride with me, and if you haven't yet read up through CRISIS then you won't know what's going on!![...]

Hey, hey, hey, as Fat Albert would say!I've had questions recently on the follow-up Crisis Sequence Novel: HAVOC, as well as a question on the DESCENDANTS SAGA in general. Also, readers have been looking for the sequel to A World Within," for some about a bullets list!!First of all, I'm actually beginning work on HAVOC now! I hope to have it out later this year, but I'm not sure exactly when it will be, yet. You see, I'm also working on the "World Within" sequel right now, and I'm back in college attempting to finish my Bachelor's degree in Psychology in order to apply for Physician Assistant school. I've worked as a Surgical Technologist for nearly 20 years and PA is a natural progression for me. Needless to say, I've got a lot of work ahead of me, and continuing to write novels is part of that....What? You thought novelists were paid so well that they didn't need daytime jobs? HA, HA, HA, HA! Unfortunately, that's just not the reality for most novelists. But anyway, I'm working on both novels and trying to get them out there. To be honest, I'm still not quite sure where HAVOC is going to end up...CRISIS definitely shoved Brody West, aka the Watcher, more into the focus of the story, and the "zombies" are making a nice transformation into something much more "supernatural" than you might have first suspected...remember this is all still DESCENDANTS SAGA. People thought I had flipped the script on them with Crisis Sequence, but NOT SO :) Anyway, look for it later this year, as well as a sequel for "A World Within."Secondly, I received a theological question regarding the DESCENDANTS SAGA as a whole...specifically, why I hold to the view that "the Sons of God, mentioned in Genesis 6, are angels rather than being simply mighty men, or the "Sons of Seth." So, I thought I would take the time to answer that here. First of all, the phrase, "Sons of God," is mentioned several times in the old testament. (Job 1:6, Job 2:7, Job 38: 7) In each of these references, we find that angels are clearly being spoken of...particularly, in Job chapters 1 & 2 as Satan appears with these "Sons of God" before the Lord himself. Clearly, we are in a supernatural setting here before God's throne and Satan is not standing there with mortal men. Also in Job 38:7, God is demanding of Job answers concerning knowledge about the foundation of the world...something Job as a mortal had essentially no knowledge about...and we find the Sons of God shouting for joy at the creation of the heavens and the Earth...clearly, not mortal men. So, if every other reference in the Old Testament has angels in mind then why not Genesis 6? Even in Genesis chapter 6 we have a separation: the "Sons of God" and the "Daughters of men." Whey did the Lord use this type of language, if he was simply referring to mortal men and mortal women? He could have just said, "men and women." Now, is this view something that I am dogmatic about? No...I admit that I could be wrong. But I still feel that this is the correct interpretation, and the bible doesn't appear to disagree. Still, it's speculation...but it sure makes a better series of novels don't it?Stay tuned for updates on "HAVOC" and "The Wielder King" coming later this year...I hope! Don't forget to check out recent additions to the Audible library for my novels. A Strange Tale is recently out, as well as Hallowed Be Thy Name Omnibus Edition. I'm hoping to have a narrator for ALLIANCE soon to finish off the Descendant audiobooks, and RAGE and CRISIS are already out for Crisis Sequence![...]

Free Book Promotions!!

Raven's Hand will be FREE on KINDLE from February 24th - February 28th!

RAGE: Descendants Saga Crisis Sequence Book One will be FREE from February 24th - February 28th!

First let me say that I appreciate all of those who have taken precious time out of their lives to read (and hopefully enjoy) my novels! As far as new things and updates, let me answer a few questions that I've received on a regular basis.A World Within series has not been forgotten! I'm starting the second novel, tentatively entitled, "THE WIELDER KING," as I write this. I hope to finish it sometime in the early Summer 2015. I love the first book and am looking forward to getting back to AWW's fun cast and crew. In the meantime, I have other fantasy novels available you may not have read and one brand new one to announce in this post (see the new cover pic?)For those of you who have read the Descendants Saga and now the Crisis Sequence novels, you should already realize that they are linked and that Brody West has traveled into the future, so to speak, by way of being held in stasis within a special portal. Not really time travel...more like cryo-sleep for us trekkies...and he will not return to the past. But there is a whole mess of trouble for him to deal with and some sadness too in the Crisis Sequence novels, beginning with RAGE, which I have left priced for FREE!! So, fans of Descendants can definitely afford to check out the continuation...I'm also still giving promo codes for the RAGE audiobook, so you can get that for FREE at the moment if you hurry! That's a great deal, so don't waste the opportunity. I realize some people don't like that I ended Descendants and flipped the script somewhat to make Brody a hidden character at first and then a side character in CRISIS, but trust me when I say that these other characters are cool and Brody increased along the way and is set to be a main character again in the next Crisis Sequence novel...Speaking of Crisis Sequence, when is the third novel, HAVOC, going to come out, James? So glad you asked. HAVOC will be written following the new World Within novel, (I can only do one at a time, folks) which would mean hopefully starting in Summer 2015 and completing it a few months later. So, hopefully before Christmas 2015. By the way, I appreciate your patience. Being an independent writer does allow me to bypass much of the Big Publisher delays in book release, but I still have to write them...and I write novels almost non-stop while also working a job, taking care of kids and now returning to finish my degree. Lots on the plate, but I'm still doing the novels full steam ahead. Now, for the GRAND EXPERIMENT! I am proud to announce the release of my latest series starter, RAVEN'S HAND, Book One of the Raven's Chronicle series. This is full on allegorical fantasy like most of my other fantasy novels and is no less filled with action and adventure, vicious villains and powerful protagonists. I do hope you will join me in this new story by picking up either the Kindle version, the soon coming Print Version, or the hopefully soon coming Audiobook Version at last but not least, I've got good news for Audiobook lovers...not only am I still handing out FREE promo codes for RAGE...I'm also working with a new narrator and will have new audiobooks coming from over the next few months for: HALLOWED BE THY NAME Omnibus Edition, A Strange Tale (Percival Strange novel), and the final Descendants novel, ALLIANCE/VENDETTA. Also, I may soon have audio releases for my space novel series, The Chronicles of Soone! Man, that's going way back! So, in conclusion, there is so much going on and I hope you will stay tuned for upcoming sequels, audiobooks and please join with me in the Raven's Chronicle series just released with Book One, Raven's Hand. If you're wondering why I called this novel the Grand Experiment, I had the idea of writing under a pen name, Evangeline Black, for this novel since it has a female heroine. At any rate, I even released it for free[...]

CRISIS: Crisis Sequence Book 2 is now available on Kindle and Print!

CRISIS: Descendants Saga Crisis Sequence Book 2 is now available on Kindle and in Print editions!
This second novel in the Crisis Sequence picks up where RAGE leaves off, taking the Descendants story in a new arc!

I've had numerous requests for other Ebook formats and/or Print Editions for my novels over the past few years, but up until now I considered it not worth the considerable effort it would take to get them out there. However, I've recently had a much better experience and can now offer Matte finishes on the covers, preview the new files easier, etc... and have decided 2014 is the time to get this done.
Because of my agreement with Amazon, I still cannot publish sequels to Nook and other Ebook formats. I know many people have downloaded the free editions of series starters and want the sequels, but I just don't have the ability to do that due to contract. But, for anyone who still wants to purchase sequel novels to many of my fantasy series, these PRINT EDITIONS should solve the problem for you. Believe me when I say, I'm barely selling these above cost, in order to make them as cheap as possible for my readers. I don't make anything more on a print copy than on Kindle. Sometimes, it's even less. The Matte Covers were something I wanted for a long time and now I can make those available as well. I've got a couple and they look sweet :)
As for the Titles that will soon release in Matte Cover Print Editions?
  • All Descendants Saga Novels
  • All Crisis Sequence Novels (as they release on Kindle. Crisis is almost here!)
  • All Realm Shift Trilogy Novels
  • A Serpent Kings Ominbus: (including Serpent Kings, Wraith Dancer, Shadow Walker)
  • A Perdition's Gate: Inferno Omnibus (including Perdition's Gate and PG:Inferno)
  • A World Within
  • A Strange Tale
If I've left any out that people want then please send me an email, and I'll see about doing one for the novel you want. It's not so much trouble now, so let me know.

RAGE: Crisis Sequence One is Now FREE on Kindle and other Ebook Formats!

As promised, the Crisis Sequence has begun. RAGE is now live on Amazon Kindle at 230 pages with an Audio Book edition coming in the next few months. For Descendants fans, this novel picks up where VENDETTA leaves off... However, the novel is completely accessible to those who've not yet read the Descendants Saga. In fact, Descendants novels only explain one of the mysteries found in Crisis Sequence. So, call it secret knowledge only Descendants fans will have. You're ahead of the curve :)

Crisis Sequence: focuses upon Jonathan Parks who may be the cause of a viral pandemic threatening London, England and the world beyond. He has no idea how it happened, but it's happened, and now something has to be done to stop it before the infected overtake all of humanity. Foreign governments isolate themselves and seek to lay hold of this boy who may represent the only hope for a cure to this modern day plague.
Also, I have news for "Wielder Saga" fans wanting to know about a sequel to "A World Within," which has been out for several years, and is now FREE on AMAZON KINDLE as well as other e-book formats. I'm going to begin work in the next Wielder Saga Book next week. I'm not sure how long it will take to release, since I'm also working on CRISIS SEQUENCE, but this is better than not working on it at all. I anticipate being done by end of this coming Summer... just don't hold me to it. I'm usually early rather than late on my self imposed deadlines. However, if you've enjoyed "A World Within," then you might want to check out my Audio Books because I'm hoping to have an Audio Book for "A World Within" out through very soon!

Stay tuned to this Bat-Station for upcoming releases and news!

One Realm Beyond

I recieved a free copy of this novel to review and had high hopes, but half way through I realized that I just wasn't getting into this story. Admittedly, this story is written for a young audience and I have no doubt that young readers, particularly those who enjoy charming dragons, would like this book. However, having said that, I love young adult fiction and books for young readers. Novels that have drawn me into the story by the first pages or first chapters and had me totally captivated and wanting more. One Realm Beyond is just not one of those books. Other reviews have mentioned not being able to get into this story until about half way through. I would have to say that, at the half way point, I'm still not there yet.
Now, don't get me wrong, Donita K Paul is a wonder with her prose. It's the story that isn't doing it for me. I've found nothing worth caring about on Cantor's quest. In fact, Cantor has been a major problem for me. I don't like this guy. He's whiny. I like Bridger much endearing dragon, even if he is a bit of an oaf. He's charming in my opinion. I'd much rather have had him in a story as the main character than Cantor. At half way through the book, after Bridger has more than proven his worth (IMHO) and his faithfulness (especially given the kind of treatment he's recieved in return) Cantor's is still this incessantly ungrateful whiner.
I had to give up because I so disliked the hero in this novel. I know he's going to grow into it and all...believe me I know...but if I can't enjoy reading about him by the halfway point then I'm not going to continue reading his story.
May I give a humble example? Artemis Fowl is a boy genius and a super criminal. He's not the hero we want him to be at the beginning or even by the next few novels, but he's very interesting to read about. And you can see a process, and he's so interesting as an antihero that you enjoy reading through the process. And there's a whole lot happening along the way that's thrilling to read. I found none of these characteristics in our hero: Cantor. I found nothing very thrilling to keep me plodding along. I like Bridger...give him a novel without Cantor. He's charming, endearing. Everything I'm sure Donita intended. But Cantor?...Not feeling it.

By the way I've read other stuff by Donita and enjoyed the experience, which was why I wanted to review this new series starter. Unfortunately, this one just isn't my cup of tea. :(

The final Descendants Saga Novel: VENDETTA has been finished and released as a FREE E-BOOK through Smashwords and Amazon Kindle. The Amazon Kindle version should soon take on the free price, but can be downloaded in all ebook formats (including Kindle) at SMASHWORDS. VENDETTA is a little shorter  than the other Descendant Novels (which is why I'm giving it away for FREE), but the story is there and finishes off the series as I had hoped...Also VENDETTA serves as the Prologue for my next series spinning off from Descendants to create: CRISIS SEQUENCE. I've included the Crossover Cover Here for your enjoyment, so that fans will know what to look for when the next series begins. This new series will take up where Descendants Saga leaves off...A new cast of characters will be introduced, leaving most of our old cast behind. Nevertheless, the new cast will be front and center in this new Apocalyptic Series. The CRISIS SEQUENCE will start up with the first novel: RAGE: CRISIS SEQUENCE BOOK ONE. I'll share the first cover and a brief synopsis here. I hope the fans of Descendants will join me for this new series. It promises to be a fun new ride! Jonathan Parks never expected to witness the end of the world. He never expected to be the cause of it. "Who is Jonathan Parks? You'll have to read VENDETTA to find out!"[...]

Hello all and Happy New Year!
There is alot coming in 2014, primarily a NEW SERIES entitled: CRISIS SEQUENCE which will have its roots in the Descendants Saga, but will also incorporate an entirely new cast of characters. In fact this series will be quite different from Descendants, a bit more grounded in what's happening in the human world so to speak. And because my current 7th Descendants Novel will spend so much time finishing off with our former cast of characters and bridging the gap for this new series, I've decided to also RELEASE the NEW NOVEL for FREE in the next month or so.
VENDETTA will arrive free at Smashwords first (about a month from now) and usually filters through the system to become free on Amazon Kindle and Nook and all other Ebook platforms shortly thereafter.
I've also created an alternate VENDETTA COVER that better reflects the Crossover Nature of this novel that will hopefully grab reader's attention -- not to mention the FREE pricetag involved! I think that the style of the new covers should also give a hint about the direction the story might take :)
Jonathan Parks never expected to witness the end of the world. He never expected to be the cause of it.
The principle character for Crisis Sequence will be Jonathan Parks. For more about who this actually is, you'll have to read VENDETTA when it arrives and put two and two together. Jonathan will, however, not make his debut until the first official Crisis Sequence Novel: RAGE, which will hopefully arrive by the Summer of 2014. Tentative titles for the Crisis Sequence Novels include: RAGE - CRISIS - MAYHEM - HAVOC. So, lots happening this year and I hope you'll stay onboard for the fun. Rest assured, if you've enjoyed the Descendants Saga so far, you should also enjoy this new series.

New Series Coming Soon!

With Descendants Saga wrapping up very soon... I'm currently in the middle of novel #7 "VENDETTA" ... I'm ready to announce a brand new series. As I may have mentioned earlier on, fans of Descendants Saga will find they have more insight into what's going on, or at least how it is rooted in the Descendants Universe. However, this will also be a series that can stand alone for those who have never read Descendants :)

Jonathan Parks never expected to see the end of the world. He never expected to be the cause.

Well, there turned out to be a bit of drama surrounding the FALLEN AUDIOBOOK project over the past month. I had originally begun to work with a great sounding Narrator / Producer only to get part way into the recording process and lose all contact with him. To this day I have no idea what has happened to him. Literally, he was gung ho one moment - having completed the first segment - and then I couldn't contact him by email or ACX message board through Amazon. In fact, when I was forced to appeal to ACX/AMAZON to contact the narrator, they were unable to get a hold of him either. I'm wondering if he is even on the planet. You know, any number of things could happen to a person from one day to another... and since I'm in Tennessee and him in California there's just no way of knowing.
Anywho, FALLEN has been released from that contract and I've just completed the process again for finding a new Narrator. I feel even better with this choice and will hopefully have the first 15 minute section of the book by August 16th. If it's all right with the Narrator, I'll try to post that initial segment here on the website. The Narrator's natural accent is British, which I really think is cool, so I'm looking forward to hearing it come alive in Audio.
The company producing the FALLEN AUDIOBOOK has also expressed interest in doing the entire series... so, hopefully, that will all pan out as well.
In the meantime, I'm busy working on the fifth DESCENDANT'S SAGA novel, "AFTERMATH," which follows on the heels of MILLENNIUM. So stay tuned for updates on the release for both AFTERMATH & FALLEN AUDIOBOOK in the near future. If all goes according to schedule, the audiobook should become available in mid-September 2013.

I also have a new Sci-fi / Fantasy novel that's in the works entitled METALLUS: City of the Metal Gods... I'll be working on this behind the scenes as I continue work on the Descendants Saga Novels... but more on that one later :)

The Next Novel in the Descendants Saga is well on its way toward completion. I don't have a release date just yet, but I've made a title change and cover change that I wanted to share.
The novel will be a part of a new Descendants trilogy where Cole becomes the first person viewpoint character in the story. For fans, don't worry, Brody West is still a big part of this story. However, Brody had four novels under his viewpoint and I thought changing perspectives might be a nice change.

This story picks up at the very end of MILLENNIUM with the Descendants, under Brody's leadership, traveling to Ireland with the hope of making a new home there, after all of the trouble on the spiritual plane and back in England.
As the release nears, I'll post more updates...
Also, at this point, it's unclear what the fate of the FALLEN AUDIOBOOK is going to be. I had a producer / narrator out in California who had begun work, but something has apparently happened? Literally, I haven't been able to reach him in weeks and neither has Amazon/ACX the company we're both contracted through. Not sure if he's still on the planet or not? Again, I'll update you...but hopefully he's all right. As for the audiobook, if our contract is dissolved then I can simply put the novel up for other narrator / producers to take a look at on Amazon / ACX. So, we'll see how that pans out.

GHOST: A New Thriller from Wayne Thomas Batson

About the Story: Ghost fits into the genre of Supernatural Thriller, in the same vein as Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, the X-Files, Nightstalker, etc. But, it's also very much a Detective Thriller in the vein of "Lone Wolf" murder mysteries like Lee Child, Brad Thor, and Stephen Hunter.

"Fans of Lee Child and Jim Butcher will love this series!"

Protector and punisher…Hunter and hunted…Down-to-earth and otherworldly…John Spector, aka GHOST, isn’t your ordinary investigator. He carries a shiny badge, a billfold ID, and a mysterious silver suitcase. His mission? Seek the forgotten ones, the abandoned ones, the ones no one else can or will help. Visit blunt force trauma upon the world’s blackest souls and deny the devil his day by any means necessary. And never stop. Never.

For more than a decade, the "Smiling Jack" killer has been posting photos of his victims on the Web, daring anyone to catch him, daring anyone to care. But when no missing person files match and no victims are ever found, the FBI closes the case.

Years later, a digital camera washes up on shore, and GHOST finds it. Each macabre photo becomes a clue that will lead GHOST and FBI Special Agent Deanna Rezvani on the trail of one of the most diabolical killers of this world…or beyond.

"No one gets away with murder. Not for long."

Projects IN THE Works

At the moment a lot is happening!
Fallen Audiobook is in production: I've heard the first installment from Narrator / Producer, John LeBlanc, and it sounds fantastic! Even though I've written and read the book over and over by now, I was riveted hearing it in pristine audio.
Minor Edits are going on for all of the Descendant Saga story changes, just another round to clear up any misspelled words, etc...
I've got another project in the works also, but its under wraps for the time being.
And Diabolical, the first Descendants Saga Aftermath novel, is a WIP that's partially complete with much more to do...
So, a lot of items on my plate at the moment, but that's a good thing. Stay Tuned for updates on the FALLEN AUDIOBOOK, release date and where you can find it. I'm expecting great things for all of the Descendant Novels as they come alive in Audio Format.
