Llano County investigating first credit card skimming case

The Llano County Sheriff's Office says it is working the agency's first credit card skimming case after several gas pumps were found to be tampered with on Tuesday. When deputies checked the 7-11 store located at 2606 West Ranch Road 1431 in Kingsland, they found several skimmers installed at numerous gas pumps.

Anyone growing up in Kingsland can probably draw a map of the walking trails winding around The Slab without much thought.

Lyft expands Austin-area coverage to 10 new Central Texas cities

Residents of 10 Central Texas communities - mostly in the Hill Country - now are able to get a lift from Lyft. Communities just added by the ride-hailing service are Blanco, Burnet, Canyon Lake, Horseshoe Bay, Johnson City, Kingsland, Marble Falls, Smithville, Spring Branch, and Tow.

Fourth was booming across Highland Lakes

Fireworks and celebrantions on the Highland Lakes began with the Blue Lake Estates parade and fireworks Saturday, July 1, and grew to a crescendo Tuesday night July 4. Also, on Saturday, the annual Flights of Fancy event of the Highland Lakes Flyers model airplane club filled the air above Hank Nilsen Model Aircraft Field and the Miss Aqua Boom Pageant filled the Kingsland Community Center. Parades went on for family and friends in Spicewood, Meadowlakes and Highland Haven, Bertram, Briggs, Horseshoe Bay and at the Kingsland Aqua Boom.

Kingsland motel declared 'uninhabitable' by fire marshal

A Kingsland motel has been declared "uninhabitable" by the Texas State Fire Marshal and tenants have been barred from staying there unless or until repairs have been made. State and local officials converged on the LBJ Motel at 13813 Ranch to Market Road 1431 about 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, to investigate.
