Heres a packet of releases from Eagle Rock, CA based label Not Not Fun, responsible for the Bored Fortress 7" club and folk/psych/drone/free wheelin jams all over! On the shelves now.. alla re $20AUD ea!Inca Ore - Birthday of Bless YouThis one has been a dream since the start. Literally, as Eva Saelens wrote us one day out of the clearest blue saying she had a dream one night that she sent us her brand new album and that we fell in love with it and released it. Well the dream’s become reality, as her latest spirit quest in pursuit of the inmost voice dazzled us instantly and lingered like déjà vu. An 11-song slideshow of psychedelic secrecy, rippling whispers, and private ghost ballads, Birthday of Bless You finds Inca Ore at her most lithe and longing, shifting focus from microscopic mood meditations to wide-lens surrealist romance fantasies in a heartbeat, then back again. A black-lit bedroom soon forgotten, a midnight garden of lucid sound, an LP to have and to hold. Mastered for wax by Pete Swanson. Black vinyl in jackets with collage-art by IO, plus a full-color 11x11 collage insert. Edition of 500.Barn Owl -From Our Mouths A Perpetual LightSince first bearing witness to Barn Owl’s mythically desolate amplifier alchemy last year, we’ve been rabid fans/fanatics. But like lots of badass bands, BO are a rolling stone, heavy on the transformation tip, and the BO of today is an altered beast from the one that folkily fingerpicked Bridge To The Clouds and their self-titled disc way back when. And in case we’re not being clear: this is a beautiful thing. From Our Mouths A Perpetual Light burns with the sun-dead majesty of a Death Valley burial ground, all wasted waterless expanse and cracked earth smoke blowing in the dry wind. Heavy western drone revelations bleed into forlorn guitar drift, downcast percussion plods across the plain, a skull on its side lies in the sands. Evan Caminiti and Jon Porras have somehow flawlessly evolved Barn Owl into a blazing new universe, and From Our Mouths… is the first mission statement from their new spectral/aesthetic outpost, a stunning and timeless eight-song suite of grim cinematic electricity. Tune in, drop dead, rot on. In swank matte jackets with ‘four-armed demon warrior-yogi’ artwork by the band. Cloudland Canyon/Mythical BeastThis fair pairing has been in the wings for a few years now by our count, but tripped things come to those who wait, so better late-as-shit than never. Cloudland Canyon have been spanning geographies (Brooklyn, Germany, Memphis) and genres (krautrock, drone, psych-pop) since at least 2002, but only recently has their technological studio-sorcery began to gather steam and affect the more far-flung populations (powered in no small part by their partnership with Kranky Records). Anyone who's gotten lost in CC's latest, Lie In Light, knows this duo is currently at the pinnacle of their potency, and their offering here ("Harvest Hunt") is a fantastic mechanical motorik ascent into symphonic hypnosis. Comparisons to classic Teutonic psych outfits of yesteryear are warranted but inadequate: this is music of today, for tomorrow. On the flip, beloved Not Not Fun in-laws Mythical Beast return to the vinyl spotlight with two luminous soul meditations conjured during the past winter's grey maze of days. Both ballads burn with Corinne's voice-for-the-voiceless defiance, wind-draped and incensed by Jeremiah and Aaron's subtle electric string energies. Naked music for open spaces, empty skies, endless nights. High-audio 45 RPM LPs (NNF's first!) in matte-jackets with cloud-skull artwork by Blackblack beauty Diva Dompe.Shepherds -Loco HillsA lot of beloved-by-us artists and artisans icepick out shapely creations from the marble slab of life on a steady schedule, but even within this rarefied realm it’s a real cause for jubilee when an individual/band fucks precedent and totally redefines themselves through a real masterwork. And, in our book (check it out, it’s a good read), Loco Hills is one such touchstone. Distilling down[...]

Single culture, from the USA/CAN.SWEET ROT RECORDS (Vancouver, BC):Blank Its -Windows are DirtyThe Blank Its are back. After their killer first single, a cool split with the Feelers and their underrated debut LP on Empty, they have returned with a self-released single of their own, plus this, a two song, no nonsense slab of wax that in this humble listener's opinion is their best record yet. "Windows Are Dirty" is everything an a-side should be - short, to the point, and ridiculously catchy (and you can hear it on the band or label's myspace page) - while the flip "Divorce" is about as epic as a three minute (weird) pop song can be, all played with that distinctive Blank Its sound (ie. loud guitars, insectoid vocals, off-kilter drums) and perfectly recorded. - gonerrecordsSweet Rot's got another new one on the streets, this time from a trio called Blank Its. Two tracks that's pretty straight up Killed By Death punk w/treated vocals to give it, I dunno, an edge? Catchy tunes though & if your smitten by yore boys such as Plastic Idols & Deprogammer, then start collecting for the future... -siltblogCatholic Boys - Fixed 7"Catholic Boys rock it w/a decidedly Dangerhouse approach, the results of which should make every Jay Reatard fan squeal w/fright. Or delight. I guess it depends on how your cuttin up the eightball.- siltblogIntrigued as I was from last month's Catholic Boys offering on Trickknee, I was saddened to learnt hat the band is no more. Here's the remaining recordings, said to have come out of aborted sessions for a second album. Four songs here, and all possess that wiry, transistor-fed tin-can slice and stuttery chordal slam of all the Halo of Flies records. It's a great time, especially “Feeding Tube.” Nice sleeve design and packaging, too. Hopefully these guys land on their feet and knock another one out in future endeavors, whatever they may be. - FASHIONABLE IDIOTS RECORDS:Pink Reason - Borrowed Time ...At just over a minute, it has Kevin DeBroux's warbly echoed vocals over a fuzzy, speed-freak guitar riff. It's punkier and more upbeat than most of the stuff on Cleaning the Mirror, and I like it. Definitely worth a listen if you're even mildly interested in Pink Reason and/or the whole shitgaze thing - melt your brain. -sevententwelve blogRecommended and sold out everywhere else!SKULLTONES:Naked on The Vague - Poltergeist Palm 7" (Skulltones label) $8Naked On The Vague is also battin 1000% & on this 7" for Skulltones, their patented brand of Apocalyptic melancholia is runnin at a fever pitch. The A side cracks & peels behind a 'Discipline' styled drum beat while Matthew & Lucy's vocal trade off's resemble the malaise akin to once upon a time Lee & Nancy ( aka, the original Chris & Cosey) recounting a night at Spahn Ranch, where they was sick from the tofu roasted over a kerosene bonfire & exasperated by the results of a Family hootenanny. The flip finds our hero's not a little wrecked from the copious amounts of Fromme procured dirt-cheeb they'd inhaled & who knows, maybe it'd even been 'dusted' w/LOVE by Charlie himself. It's a wild world babe, that's alls I can say. -[...]

Hello all - we here at Clth Ear had a splendid break in the USA and thank all those who accommodated, fuelled, wined and dined us - a very fine hospitality was show and many lovely folks met xxAnd now back with the goods! Expect several posts through the beginnings of this week and check older releases in posts past for restocks!!- clthAlasehir - Philosophy of Living Fire LP (vinyl only)Alasehir is the trio of Michael Gibbons, John Gibbons, and Jason Kourkounis, otherwise known as three-fifths of Bardo Pond. Philosophy of Living Fire continues their sonic exploration of dense, languorous, free expansion. Their third release, following a CD apiece for the Important and aRCHIVE labels, Billowing and exploding like a cluster of hashish stars, the three instrumental tracks produce a cosmic energy akin to a quasar in the heavens far left of Coltrane's OM and just right of the galaxy known as Dead C's Harsh '70s Reality. Released in a one-time edition of 1000 LPs, this is the rocket ride into the outer stratum at which their previous CDs only hinted. So climb aboard and let Alasehir's Philosophy Of Living Fire be your 2007: A Space Odyssey. - siltbreeze.comEat Skull - Sick to death (vinyl only)*highly recommended*Biscuit crumbs and tea stains be damned, Eat Skull are a quartet hailing from Portland, Oregon, co-masterminded by Rob Enbom (former bushwacker in the ranks of Hospitals and Hole Class) and another original Hospital, Rod Meyer (the greatest living genius of punk). Previous Eat Skull efforts include a cassette-only EP and a pair of 7-inches, all of which might be out of print. Like their brethren and forebears, Eat Skull runs a post pattern deep beyond pop and punk. They bring to the game an extrasensory appreciation of New Zealand's South Island Sound (Great Unwashed, Axemen), Cleveland art-damage skronk (Modern Art Studio, X-X), and the wretched excess of forgotten Midwest hardcore (Stiff Legged Sheep, Chemotherapy). In other words, just what you need! - insoundSick to Death has got a handful of its own anthems, too. Good ones. Poppy ones. Its 14 tracks hustle by in spurts of creative freedom, fueled by alcohol and a lack of money, and of course, drenched in gouts of lo-fi Naked on the Vague - Blood Pressure Sessions (Vinyl only)"awwwesome"Comprised of keyboardist Lucy Cliché, bassist Matthew P. Hopkins, and a drum machine, Naked on the Vague churn out stripped-down and monotonous post-punk. The rhythms are primitive; the most animated songs rely on little more than the incessant thud of a bass drum... Naked on the Vague also have a penchant for dubby textures that have more in common with the current Fuck It Tapes school of psychedelic music than to no wave. ...The Blood Pressure Sessions is an enhancement of an idea started a long time ago. During the 80s, bands responded to poverty, vacuous culture, and bad government with music that was appropriately nihilistic. It's not surprising that Naked on the Vague have been able to tap into that mindset 20 years later; the more things change, the more they stay the same -pitchforkmedia.comFabulous Diamonds - 7 Songs (vinyl only)Minimal psychniks Fabulous Diamonds release their debut longplayer, 7 Songs, this week, and - as befits one of Melbourne's most idiomatic acts - it's a stoned cold stunner. With maximal overdubbing, longer length tracks and lush, atmospheric tape production, the duo sound more weighty and affective here than ever; their delay-on-everything style, swirling tiers of dub percussion, skronking sax and chanted vocals intensified by close analogue studio attention. Thankfully for fans, the results - though less minimal than we're used to with FDs - retain all the otherworldly spirit of their popular, free-core live performance. -Mark GomesOper Arizone Nafta - Cavuru (vinyl only)Located within the Trapani Province of Sicily, OPER'AZIONE NAFTA considers their self-described "un-rock" as "a blowjob from Luigi Russolo." We have just had a swathe of releases land in the Cloth Ear nest from the kind folk at Bunyip Trax label run outta Melbourne, Victoria by this nice chappy..

Krystoffkrustoffiston Cassette
"drawing some degree of inspiration from the black stream (though concerned more with depressive ambience over hammering repetition), duo Kkriskristoffiston are just as likely to disgust BM purists. A Door as a Substitute for Two Doors (self released CS) is a series of subterranean environments, marked out by lingering guitar lines and ghostly shrieks. Movement here is oppressively sluggish, though familiar doom metal moves do not figure as touchstones; the absence of titanic bass tones points to this. Looping electronics are deployed throughout at opportune intervals, infusing the cavernous spaces and adding an early industrial dimension. In the end however yawning space and reverberation are unmistakably the primary areas of concern"

Always - F.I.S.T

(image) Always is Alex Vivian, a free vocalist residing in Sydney, Australia. Entirely a capella, F.I.S.T. is a collection of pulsating and intense vocal noise, pieced together into primitive soundscapes. Influenced by operatic and Celtic cries, tribal/jungle rhythms, disposable white label techno and the infinite nature of free noise, Vivian's sound is created using two delay pedals' loops that feed from one another, creating new rhythms and layers through repetition and vocal interpretations of organic sounds, performed completely live and improvised... Ideas are created on the spot, which feed off themselves and mutate in different directions, resulting in accidental rhythms and opening the mind to unexplored territory. Released on the Nervous Jerk label of Melbourne. -KRECS.COM

Daniel Menche - Glass Forest

Noisester Daniel Menche of Portland graced our shores recently - carving up a path of distortion, drone and destruction with his wired up iron wand of sound. He left behind a trail of merchandise which was snapped up by many at the shows he played - if you missed out, you can grab a copy of Glass Forest ere..

(image) Glass Forest is a highly listenable starting point for any
newcomers curious about Daniel Menche's vast discography. It is also, according to Menche, the last cd he will release. From now on he'll be releasing his music on LP only or on DVD to accompany films he's been working on...
Recorded in the winter of 2005, Daniel Menches Glass Forest displays a glistening sound world that finely textured with the most delicate of raw organic sound and chaotic electronic noise. Not at all extreme as with Menches previous work but rather a more subtle presence can be heard here on Glass Forest. Subsonic bass drums crawling underneath a massive sheets of glass-like sound layering infinitely into a thick and dense forest of delicate noise. For fans of Daniel Menche's ambient work and also his loud violent work, Glass Forest fits exactly right in the middle of these two polarities. -

Say Cheese and Die LP!

Hello all - another package from Siltbreeze (Philadelphia, US) just dropped outta the sky... heres what we gots:Pink Reason - Cleaning the Mirror (BACK IN STOCK!)...Surface listens find Cleaning the Mirror in league with a type of lo-fi aesthetic that lines up with the early 1990s and their impending revival, right down to the reactivated Siltbreeze imprint whose name this album bears. Labels like Shrimper and Road Cone built their lowercase aesthetics on drowsy, hand-produced cassette releases by groups like Bugskull and Refrigerator, two examples in particular that share in the charred, dented-can charms that Pink Reason reproduces. The twice-removed alienation that drove groups like Black Tape for a Blue Girl and Lycia merit reference as well for the replicated crawling crush and apocalyptic melancholy gathering at their stone feet. That these songs are essentially loose blues-based mantras separate Pink Reason from much of the forlorn pack. That de Broux uses three singing voices (one jarring and awkward, on “Dead End,” the record’s most upbeat offering, another a Mick Jagger-esque drawl, and a third a recently-awoken moan that allows itself to sink below the music into mystery and incomprehension) distances itself further. - Harry Pussy - Ride A DoveExcellent 1996 album... here are some warm words from a mad keen fan who looks after their myspace fansite: Pussy was a rock band from Miami, active from 1992 to 1997. Featuring Bill Orcutt on guitar and vocals, Adris Hoyos on drums and vocals, briefly Ian Steinberg on accordion, and later either Mark Feehan or Dan Hosker on second guitar, the band recorded primarily for the Siltbreeze label.Harry Pussy was often grouped together with what were termed "noise" bands, though the term hardly does them justice. Orcutt's unique but highly developed approach to the guitar along with Hoyos impassioned attack of her drumkit place the band more directly in a lineage of rock and jazz. The band conveyed values of uncompromising aestheticism and self-reliance as an alternative to the passive consumerism offered by mainstream 'alternative' rock of the era. Their ecstatic celebrations of life were often violent and sexually charged. Their legacy continues to inspire creative self-development among the current dedicated practitioners of rock and roll. Terracid SKIES CD

(image) Terracid - Skies CD $12
An eightball of swallowed volumes and hippy rockwork for the wingless . spiraling drift thread thin like minute spider webs until the floor becomes the sky. New release for Kyogles Terracid. The last we received here sold out quick sticks so ... get into it. Amazing recording.

(image) Ian Wadley - Oslo Solo $12
Second solo release from ian wadley (ex-BirdBlobs guitarist and recently drumming for 6 Organs of Admittance & Mick Turner & Jandek amongst others), ianw oslo solo is a sometimes-minimalist
non-rhythmically loop-driven psychedelic drift through surf guitar, pre-classical melodies, short-wave noise & western twang film themes,
ideas for songs rising, crashing then receding. No voice just guitar,
recorded live in Norway mid-2006.

Due to popular demand - Shepherds are back in stock! We have been sent a few final copies of the Bush Babies 7" which was snapped up within weeks when it was first got in many months ago....Shepherds - Bush Babies 7" $8Ahhhh here is a record one hopes to stumble upon: A totally satisfying, even inspiring, piece of out sound. Shepards on this disk is a duo and that is a mindfuck of a revelation once the music starts. Primitive yet sonically deep free jazz which grows with each listen, "Bush Babies" is one long song split over two sides. Using tapes, Shepherds create layers of horns which fade in and out of the mix, as well as guitar squalls and random noises which puncture and build. Somewhere there is a piano or a tape of a piano slowly decomposing. On top of these sheets lurk the drums, which slowly move and churn with restlessness but never break wild ‘n loud. The drummer’s restraint and the layering of the horns so that they sound like they were recorded in a distant room is either dumb luck or shows that these guys have considerable smarts when it comes to how to make a great free jazz record. More often than not the indoid dabblers of free jazz fail to grasp subtly, sonic depth, that tension and energy can be created by restraint, and that less is more. Shepherds seem to have caught on, at least for this record. A+." -SS (Z-Gun white vinyl in stock! - clth ALSO :Gang Wizard - I remember you from the party at Long Beach $8" angelic force, delivering a unique thrash-bliss sound to the world. This amazing label is run outta New York by the honorable Dave Nuss who gets noisy with No Neck Blues Band - also Amolvacy and Coach Fingers ... we had three more titles ordered but they sold out before we even got them up on site! More coming soon - from Black Dirt Recordings too!Amolvacy - Self Titled LP - $ 28 SOLD OUTYou just have to see this LP to get excited. Clear vinyl! And then the sounds...whoot! "'At least pray God to give me patience in my suffering.' So concludes 'Lover Go From Hence,' a tale of tumultuous romantic upheaval on the new Amolvacy record Ho-Ho-Kus. Here we have hearts wrenched from guts and firmly planted in the dirt; but also sprouting new romance, seduction, and...the church? And the French? Francois Rabelais wrote Garantua And Pantagruel -- a major influence on this album -- in the early 16th c. to caricature the faux morality of his time. Amolvacy offer Ho-Ho-Kus in the same cantankerous spirit, but this time perhaps to parody their own morality. Love, marriage, sex, affairs, betrayal, and loneliness are all exposed in naked vulnerability and placed on the chopping block for emotional dissection. Lead vocalist Sheila Donovan (ex-Tall Boys) is a longstanding member of the Laboratory Theater Company in NYC, and her partners are Aaron Moore of Volcano the Bear and Dave Nuss of the No-Neck Blues Band. Together they are the Amolvacy family. All things were shared in the making of this record, nothing hidden, no secrets left untold." ...whoa. Its really great.sold out NNCK - Nine for Victor CD $24No-Neck Blues Band are one of those acts that if you like 'em, you pretty much like everything they're going to belch out. It's free improv-pscyh-new-weird-America-jazz-whatever and like their brothers from another mother Sunburned Hand of the Man and Jackie O Motherf**ker ... they do put in a sterling performance here; recorded for the 'International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville' festival which also gave birth to last years breathtaking Wolf Eyes/Anthony Braxton team up, they let rip into some of their noisiest and most genre defying material yet. Flitting from electronic hiccupping to drone to noise and beyond they manage to throw pretty much everything they've accumulated in their wide reaching career into the mix.... CHARLES D SPEER - Past or Beyond 7" $10Knowing nothing of this band other then their connection to Sunburned Hand of The Man and the No Neck Blues Band, I went to a show of theirs while in Brooklyn this summer expecting some seriously heavy psych. What did I get? Todd P. the infamous NY promoter shouted out "C'mon folks, stand up, this is a rock band" right before their first song began. A rock band for sure, like a real rock band. The kind of stuff you would hear coming out of every live music bar in the South. Drums, guitar, bass, piano, and melodic-but-rough vocals are the tools for these cowboy hat/boot wearing dudes taking a break from their drugged out former projects. Instead they opt for some classic American jams. The A side is reminiscent of Silver Jews with expertly recorded/mixed light rock track. A "feel good" track. The B side is heavier, both aurally and lyrically. Biblical sacrifice references intertwined with screeches and the over tone of building the walls of Jericho out of children. Amazing label run outta Louisville - here are some of the latest and greatest on our shelves...The Cherry Blossoms - Self Titled LP $24 SOLD OUTHIGHLY RECOMMENDEDAmazing group from Nashville - who describe themselves as "Middle-Tennessee's finest anarchic post neo-skiffle collective specializing in kazoo-exotica." They are the musical heirs of Dock Boggs' visceral holler; they share the true gut-sung honesty of Bosavi guitar band music; they are a Dixie-fried Arkestra with out-of-tune acoustic guitars replacing every saxophone and a kazoo in place of Sun Ra's mellotron. This LP finally brings to proper format their most celebrated and celebratory songs, from interstellar boogie ("Rockin' Rocket Ship") to agitational architectural conservation anthem ("Golden Windows"), The Cherry Blossoms offer the OTHER Nashville Sound...-bvf Valley of Ashes - cavehill hunters attrition -3xlp (yes..three!) $32 SOLD OUTSOLD OUT In todays scene of hippy dippy two bit mystic miasmas and self-appointed avatars hung up high on hollow Shangri-La noose-notion-poses, one who plays psychedelic music is hesitant when choosing adjectives. Cavehill Hunters Attrition is a sprawling triple LP collection that channels a huge spectrum yet maintains a distinct overall sound of their own that is not at all trying hard to be unique yet at the same time is not looking backward to the past... Louisville's Valley of Ashes is a massive NNCK-style free rock collective with Pete Nolan (Magik Markers and countless others), Kris Abplanalp (who teams with Nolan in Virgin Eye Blood Brothers), Kris' brother Wes, violinist Natalie Thompson, and many others (likely including whoever happened to be crashing on the couch (or park bench) that night)....-bvf + fakejazz.comSOLD OUT The Touched - Self Titled 7'' $8"Holly kaboom! For the entirety of the '00 decade, members have kept busy collaborating with and/or massaging the egos of various and sundry avant-pontiffs such as Robert Fripp, Magik Markers, Dead Child (David Pajo's metal band. That's right, David Pajo!) and Eugene Chadbourne -- when not honing the orgone energy of Sapat.Airy and pristinely recorded in a comfortable mid-fi that’s been heretofore unknown in the annals of the label’s back catalogue, Mortise and Tenon rarely falters. Captured here is a band that understands the limitations inherent in Nth generation psych rehash, and rather than pine for a long-gone zeitgeist, these eight hunker down with a batch of supple tunes that play to admirable strengths and a keen, intuitive knowledge of how to mine a generally tapped mainline in all the right ways. Miles away from the band’s still excellent debut, Sapat’s inaugural full-length shuffles the cards and deals a hand steeped in rich tradition that never once sounds like a haphazard pastiche. -dustedmagazine.comNB: also voted as one of the top records of 07 by the folks at - clth Psychedelic Horseshit - Magic Flowers Drowned (lp and cd) $25The sounds on Magic Flowers Droned captures the rickety skeletal pop of Step Forward-era Fall, the lo-fi fuzz of Swell Maps, and static noblesse of Slay Tracks-era Pavement. Cabaret Collado

Cabaret Collado - fragments from a software driven mechanism

This is the new cdr from Brazillian born, Sydney based Cabaret Collado aka. Rodrigo! Beautiful clean home recordings of abstract sounds and compositions - xref Silver Apples, Terry Riley, Steve Reich, John Cage etc. Improv/exp/concrete/folk etc. Very rich and refined sounds as can be experienced here.
Some words from the man himself:
I am one man observing and absorbing information from many different origins by rustic methods. Streching the possibilities of sound, I try to turn sound into instrument, exploring improvisation and melody over a 'bed' of pre-recorded material. I started recording my solo material between the years of 1997 and 1998 with prepared acoustic guitar, a cassette player and a 3 band short wave tuner.
FRAGMENTS FROM A SOFTWARE DRIVEN MECHANISM is the first solid material to be released after almost a decade.

FYI: Rodrigo also runs extra-ordinary label Aparelho M.O.S. which can be found with sounds here.

BRISBANE BEDKNOBS AND FOUR TRACKS....highly recommended stuff coming outta up there.Look!Pond CD $10:...Look! Pond hinge their loose structure around the aggressive and seeming spontaneous nature of Matt Kennedy’s squealy, squeaky guitar style. Kennedy meanwhile employs a much pronounced single syllable vocal scream, feeding his frustrations back into an already hostile mix. The rhythm section seems like it’s trailing him at times – both in technique and voice – although that could well be both the intention and point. Highlights here are the melodic charm of ‘Park’ and ‘Village’; a freeform closing piece of arcane beauty that comes in at the 16 minute mark. For a period in the middle during it they sound like they’re beating the notes out on an anvil. - mess+noise magazine Kitchens Floor - Self titled cassette $6This is the amazing solo project for Matt Kennedy of Look!Pond (as praised in the above review). Kitchens Floor is.. as described by the article itself ... like no wave folk music for jerks down on their luck. 10 songs of laughably miserable loneliness and heartache captured on a stolen dictaphone. soul music for the soulless. We here at Clth ear find that a little harsh, even if it came from the kitchens pantry and would ourselves describe it as scruffy, bittersweet downer pop - crafted with 10 licks of the genius whip. But thats why we asked him to write on it first. Listen here. [...]

Pagan Dawn is predominantly Jonothan Hochman - and this release was mostly recorded in Berlin. Hypnotically layered synth and guitar loops, perpetuated by the Dawns vocal harmonies and chanting... reminiscent of Eno absurdities and Clusters clean, austere early recordings. Music Your Mind Will Love You

The folks at MYMWLY out of Kyogle NSW sent us a whole bunch of stuff the other day, and its all really great. Take the time to saunter through these bits of sound bliss..(all reviews taken from their site)6majik9 ritualisimo putridoGathering around a glowing moment…intent on discovery but distracted by the glorious light that seeps from the merging…so a record is kept to remind of the things thought seen, seen heard. Lamp Puffer - GLOWBES CDR

Formerly Bad Tables - Sydneys Lamp Puffer is the solo electronically drive forces of Matthew Hopkins (Naked on the Vague, Vincent over the Sink). Glowbes is the newest release on Melbournes Inverted Crux label. This release strikes a chord somewhere between The Domestic Lid (Spanish Magic) and the earlier Food and Youth Tape (Choochabahn)... sprawling jams meet creepy vocals and song sensibilities. As described by Matthew - Lamp Puffer is a ..wobbly kind of electronicaelectronica made on a 4track tape machine in a non linear kind of way. .
