FeedDotNet

FeedDotNet is a very small RSS library for the .NET environment written in C#. As I searched for a good RSS library for our project Mindity (www.mindity.com), I came across several similar packages, but they were either incomplete or bug-ridde

Reopened Issue: content:encoded [2880]

Wed, 12 Jun 2013 01:07:09 GMT

Feeds that use content:encoded to store the full content of a post have the content being truncated so when I go to process the data in item.Content, the text is truncated with the trailing [...] leading me to believe feeds with content:encoded are storing the content from the feed's description element in the item.Content property.

New Post: FeedDotNet fails to read a feed? Tell about it here

Thu, 12 May 2011 08:40:28 GMT

I have a problem withe the feed here: http://ort.org.il

I can read it fine from netvibes, also feedburner can read it fine and creates a feed out of it. But in my projects that use feeddotnet, the FeedDotNet.FeedReader.Read function returns null!

New Post: Modules in Atom Feeds

Mon, 07 Sep 2009 23:50:07 GMT

Is it possible to have modules for Atom feeds, or just RSS?

In looking through FeedReader's initialize method, the only codepath that iterates over modules is inside the "RSS" conditional.  Atom feeds don't appear to look for modules.

Is that right?  If so, is it by design?  If not, may I submit a patch to add it?

Thanks,

Tom

NEW POST: how to publish a feed

Sat, 31 May 2008 18:34:49 GMT

I really appreciate this library, but I find it lacks a little of documentation (or I'm so stupid that I didn't find it).

After building a feed with its channel properties and created its items collection, is there a method or a propriety (such a feed.ToXml )  that returns the xml stream ?

Thanks
Sandro

Hi!

Thank you! At this moment I don't know yet it the product will be realized, we are at the analysis stage, and I was searching for libraries and tools that we may need. I'll let you know if I use your library :-)

NEW POST: License question

Hi Marco,

sure, no problem! But it would be great if you would make a short notice about FeedDotNet and link to this site somewhere in your program (e.g. in the "about" dialog)

Konstantin

PS: may I know what is the product you are working on? I could refer to it from my side as well

Thanks in advance!

Project Description
FeedDotNet is a very small RSS yet powerful library for the .NET environment written in C#. As I searched for a good RSS library for our Social RSS Software Mindity, I came across several similar packages, but they were either incomplete or bug-ridden. For example, the classic RSS.NET is not open-source anymore, cannot read Atom feeds and has some bugs with enclosure handling.

The FeedDotNet library supports all current RSS and Atom formats, and can be expanded by integration of new modules.
