5 Best Countries You Can Migrate To Posted By : Ranbir Sheik

Thu, 15 Dec 2016 00:00:00 -0500

Did you know that the number of international migrants reached 244 million in 2015, a 40% increase from the year 2000? Immigration is not a new phenomenon. This international movement of people dates back to the pre- historic days. That was when Homo Sapiens who occupied all of Africa about 150,000 years ago, moved out and settled across Australia, Asia and Europe by 40,000 years BCE. This was the first human migration. Afterwards people started immigrating around the world in search of work and better livelihood.

North Korea: Ally of US Enemies in Middle East Posted By : Marianne B. Conway

Tue, 30 Jul 2013 00:00:00 -0400

North Korea has long sold weapons to Iran, a relationship which has reportedly developed into mutual development of missile and nuclear technology, along with North Korean support to Hezbollah (often spelled "Hizballah" by the U.S. government), the terrorist group and Iranian proxy force, and Hamas, rulers of the Gaza strip and practioneers of terrorism. America must take this into account as it pressures Iran to stop its nuclear activities and considers responses to recent North Korean actions,

Lying About Lake O to Win Hearts and Minds: The Eric Draper Story Posted By : Anthony Williams

Wed, 07 Sep 2011 00:00:00 -0400

Either Eric Draper doesn't know a snail kite from a Canada goose, or he's lying through his teeth. My money is on the latter. I can see his nose growing from here. Draper is the executive director of Florida Audubon Society. Surely the man knows a thing or two about endangered creatures in Florida.

Republic of Azerbaijan - Its Natural Gas Resources Posted By : Sreekanth Boon

Sat, 20 Aug 2011 00:00:00 -0400

The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first democratic and secular republic in the Muslim world, was established in 1918, but was incorporated into the Soviet Union in 1920. Azerbaijan regained independence in 1991. Shortly thereafter, during the Nagorno-Karabakh War, neighboring Armenia occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, its surrounding territories and the enclaves of Karki, Yukhary Askipara, Barkhudarly and Sofulu. The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which emerged in Nagorno-Karabakh, continues to be not diplomatically recognized by any nation and the region is still considered a de jure part of Azerbaijan, despite being de facto independent since the end of the war.

Personal Life Changes Posted By : Anne Shaw

Thu, 07 Jul 2011 00:00:00 -0400

Change is the only constant, and life is full of it. Everyday something is different, be it something small or something revolutionary. Your life is never the same for two days in a row; in fact it sometimes feels like it's changing with every moment. There are the positive ones, there are the negative ones, and there are the seemingly neutral ones.

Their condition might worsen as time passes, so how can you prevent such situations?

Uses and Abuses of Racist Jokes Posted By : Philip Yaffe

Mon, 30 May 2011 00:00:00 -0400

Racist, religious, and ethnic jokes are generally reprehensible. However, when properly used, they can do much to bring people together rather than tearing them apart. I love racist jokes. If you are shocked by this declaration, you shouldn't be because what I mean by the term is not those disgusting, brutal - and generally false - observations designed to cause offense and injury. These do not qualify as jokes, because there is nothing funny about putting people in degrading pigeonholes.

The Dichotomy of Polygamy Posted By : Philip Yaffe

Mon, 30 May 2011 00:00:00 -0400

I recently did an Internet search to find out why polygamy is banned in some places in the world and is not, and even encouraged, in others. Why? Because a few years ago I did a similar search and came up with essentially nothing. Those sites that talked about the illegality of polygamy basically listed where such bans were in effect but gave no reasons why, which of course was object of the exercise. The first time I did the search I was still an Internet novice, so I thought perhaps I hadn't done it right. However this second search, undertaken several years later, turned up essentially the same result.

The United States is a country founded on the notion that all people are created equal. So it is reasonable to say that all Americans should be free from the any sort of discrimination. But have you ever been discriminated against? From the time we were little kids to the time we join the category of "Senior Citizens" we encounter instances of discrimination. Were you ever that kid that was picked last for kickball? It could have been because your so called "friends" thought you were too scrawny looking and wouldn't help out the team.

Mon, 02 Aug 2010 00:00:00 -0400

The unification of Hong Kong with Mainland China may have taken place back in 1997, but a lingering British problem remains: the city still drives on the left side of the road. That is now developing into a serious headache as post-1997 infrastructure developments bring the territory closer to the mainland, which drives on the right side of the road.

Model Cities Act: An Overview Posted By : Master Ray

Fri, 23 Jul 2010 00:00:00 -0400

The concept of Model Cities was necessitated by several challenges faced by society in the mid-1960s. The widespread urban violence, disillusionment with the urban redevelopment program, and bureaucratic difficulties in the early years of the war on poverty led to calls for reform of federal programs. The Model Cities initiative was created to improve on a new program in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and to coordinate existing urban programs and additional funds for local plans. The objectives of the program emphasized on comprehensive planning, where the stress was not only on rebuilding but also on rehabilitation, social services and civic participation.
