Have you go SLK configured to send emails? Does the same thing happen when accessing the assignment through the assignment list web part?

New Post: Compatibility with Sharepoint 2016

Fri, 17 Feb 2017 16:57:16 GMT

I've not tested any version of SLK with SharePoint 2016.

Most of my customers have now moved to Office 365 which is incompatible with SharePoint 2016 so I'm unlikely to do any work with it.

Hi Patrick,

Unfortunately there's no other documentation. I'm not sure who wrote the scorm player code, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed since the first release back for SharePoint 2007. You'll need to have a look at the code to see what's it's doing.

New Post: SLK without active directory

Fri, 17 Feb 2017 16:53:01 GMT

SharePoint Learning Kit needs to use SharePoint and which has a dependency on Active Directory.

There is a sample web application the basic web player which doesn't depend on SharePoint which might work. I haven't looked at that for several years and can't remember if it depends on AD or has it's own user list.

New Post: Does SLK 1.8 support Tin Can API or Experience API?

Tue, 07 Feb 2017 15:14:27 GMT

Hi,

I am running SharePoint Learning Kit 1.5.1 on SharePoint 2013. I am planning to upgrade to the latest SLK and at the same time trying to upgrade from using courselab to any of the latest authoring tools like iSpring or Captivate.

My concern here is that iSpring for example can support/output in Experience API (Tin Can API). So if I go with iSpring, can SLK 1.8 understand Experience API or does it limit to SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004.

Please let me know. Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Varun

New Post: SLK without active directory

Tue, 27 Dec 2016 10:14:21 GMT

I have a client that needs to use SLK with SCORM and does not have Active Directory. I would like to know How I do it because I could only find the option to work with active directory. If this is not possible may be it is possible to use one AD user for different users.

New Post: Render to client

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 17:22:35 GMT

hi,
I follow your development since the first version.
i use the MLC to develop a LMS with Scorm player (like the web basic player)
With Api I can :
upload package file (in database, and file system)
Assign learner to organization Id in a course (by my application)
Create a attempts on user by calling MLC API
All of these run very well.

Well, when the view is "execute" and AttemptId = x, we can start the sequence, this run, but it's very difficult to follow (in web basic player) the ways for displaying HTML or web page or resources.

You indicate in your documentation (Microsoft Learning Components, Learning Sessions: ApiRef/MlcSessions.htm)
"Note that the navigation operations listed in the previous two bullets are separate from content rendering, i.e. generating HTML or other Web pages, or resources referenced from those pages, for display to a user in a browser. Rendering is performed by calling StoredLearningSession.Render."
This function is not well documented, what is the Context, do you retrieve the html from [ActivityPackageItem] and [ResourceItem] tables?

Please help me
Also, have you a complete API documentation.

Sorry for my mistakes in English.
Thanks in advance.
Patrick

New Post: Unable to view HTML5 Courseware using SharePoint Learning Kit (SLK) v1.8.2

Mon, 21 Nov 2016 02:53:22 GMT

@acuv2016, did you manage to find a solution to your issue? If publish the file with audio and video and save into typical SharePoint document library, the file works perfectly fine. I highlighted to the developer, RichardWillis but there is no reply from him thus far.

New Post: Web Part Error loading home page

Tue, 04 Oct 2016 14:23:09 GMT

We are using SLK 1.8 on a Sharepoint 2013 farm configuration. Everything has been running fine since the initial deployment a few months ago in July. Yesterday I was notified by end user that there was error when browsing to the main SLK page with the Assignment List Web Part (http://siteurl/default.aspx). The error was Web Part Error: File Not Found. Correlation ID: can supply if necessary.

We tried to add the web part but get an error 'Cannot import this Web Part'. We did an IIS reset last night after business hours and everything was back to normal. However, this morning after normal use we're in the same situation. Funny thing is, it's working just fine on the other front end in our SharePoint farm (it is the front end for external users).

Anybody else experiencing this issue? Any suggestions?

New Post: Compatibility issue? No audio and video when course content is hosted in SLK

Mon, 22 Aug 2016 03:32:40 GMT

Hi,

We are currently using SLK v1.8.2 and it is hosted in SharePoint 2010.

Our in-house developers create courseware using Adobe Captivate 9 and publish it as (HTML5) into SLK. We use Captivate 9's features like record video and audio. However, when our learners reported that the video is unable to load and there is no audio as well.

We save the courseware in SharePoint 2010 library and tested no issue. The courseware runs with video and audio.

Hope to get some advice pl.? Grateful for your time and attention. Thank you.

New Post: SLK Assignement send a wrong URL

Thu, 11 Aug 2016 13:54:43 GMT

Hi,

I install SLK on my SP 2013 on Prem. I read the doc et follow the instruction. I add a Scorm module and assign it to a learner.

When learner receives the mail, it bring him to the assignement page. When he clicks on "start assignement" he goes to a 404 error.
When I look the URL I can see there is a mistake:
The good URL is: http://myserverSP.com/SubSite/LMS/myfile.html
The start assignement link return to: http://myserverSP.com/SubSite/LMS/SubSite/LMS/myfile.html

Anybody see that before? A configuration mistake?

Thank's for your help.
