One month operations in the North of Kosovo

In the second half of July, the Slovenian Kilo Company from Multinational Battle Group West took over the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of Leposavić County in the far North of Kosovo from the German contingent.



Handover of identification systems to the Kosovo Police

On 24 August 2010, the handover ceremony of seven S.P.I.S. (Sistema per il Segnalamento) systems was conducted at the Kosovo Police (KP) Headquarters in Pristina. The S.P.I.S. systems were donated by Arma dei Carabinieri, for the occasion, represented by Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU) Commander, Colonel Gianni Massimo Cuneo, who handed them over to the General Director of Kosovo Police Dr. Behar Selimi.

Joint Patrols with the Serbian Army on the Administrative Boundary Line between Kosovo and Serbia

The Slovenian Company, called India Company, in its Area of Responsibility (AOR) Istok, monitors the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) between Kosovo and Serbia. Monitoring involves setting up observatories at dominant points, also during bad weather, and carrying out joint patrols with the Serbian army.



Member of Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany visited Headquarters KFOR

On Sunday, the 5th of September 2010, Mrs. Elke Hoff, Member of Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, visited Headquarters KFOR in order to receive a first-hand impression of improvements in the field of security. Major General Erhard Bühler, the Commander Kosovo Force, briefed her on the current situation in Kosovo while also giving an overview of the commitment of German troops in Kosovo.



Change of Command at Multinational Specialized Unit

On the evening of 06 September 2010, the ceremony for the Transfer of Authority over Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU), based in Pristina, took place. The outgoing MSU Commander Colonel Massimo Gianni Cuneo, at the end of his one year tour, handed over the command of the MSU Carabinieri to incoming Colonel Eduardo Russo, from 7th Carabinieri Regiment “LAIVES”.



The German Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces visited Headquarters KFOR

Pristina. On the 8th of September, the German Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces, Hellmut Königshaus, visited the Headquarters KFOR in Film City. He was welcomed by the Commander of Kosovo Force, Major General Erhard Bühler, who informed his guest about the improved security situation in Kosovo and emphasized that any further development of the KFOR structure will be based on the military and political analysis of Kosovo’s overall security situation.
