Busa Bushwhack Trail Race

Tue, 01 Nov 2016 01:33:51 +0000

I’ve been running on roads exclusively since I started running, but recently (as in 2 weekends ago) found an interest in trail running, which I’m actually really afraid of.  There are so many rocks and roots to constantly be looking out for and then add a bunch of leaves hiding those things…it’s just a lot to think about while […]

Goodbye

Thu, 03 Jan 2013 03:50:47 +0000

It seemed like such a long time to have things happen with the house but it finally did and we moved this past weekend. I remember a while ago thinking I’d have so much fun with a farewell post that rattled off all the reasons why I’m glad we’re  leaving and “woo-hoo”ing and all that but […]

Shoppers World redesign? Have your say next week.

Thu, 29 Nov 2012 03:26:34 +0000

I just spoke with someone from the GlobeWest today about the Metropolitan Area Planning Council‘s project to help redesign Route 9 to accommodate the foreseen growth in the next few years.  One of the areas they will focus on is the “Golden Triangle” and even Shoppers World layout.  The plan is to have the parking on the perimeter while the stores […]

Hi Ed

Tue, 06 Nov 2012 14:54:44 +0000

I went to the McCarthy School today to vote and I don’t know if I just never realized it, or the wing is newly dedicated (probably the latter) but it was great to see the portrait of Ed Convery who passed away this year.  For anyone who doesn’t know, Ed was the Principal of the […]

Random flashbacks

Sat, 22 Sep 2012 02:32:18 +0000

Since someone commented about nostalgia in the last post I figured I’d post some random old newspaper clippings and such that I found going through some archives at the History Center.  Some I didn’t bother scanning because I didn’t think I’d use them for the blog, just for personal records, so please excuse the quality […]

Trolley Square action

Fri, 21 Sep 2012 00:38:41 +0000

I haven’t been posting much because of my like/hate relationship with Framingham. We’re actually in the process of (as my friend refers to) a divorce from the ‘ham.  In the meantime we’ll still be here for a few months and when I feel like it I’ll post. For all the “haters” that tell me to get a […]

Finally

Wed, 18 Jul 2012 17:31:53 +0000

I noticed the old and long time-vacant Desmond O’Mally’s/Metro 9/Big Papi’s is finally getting demolished.  I have no idea what will be replacing it, I only found a permit from the town for demolition and nothing else, but I think it’s a good idea to just level the building and start over.

Good Feet

Thu, 21 Jun 2012 22:35:33 +0000

Last November I developed plantar fasciitis, you should be so lucky if you never had it or even had a reason to hear of it.  I asked a podiatrist while I was training for the Boston Marathon  if it’s okay to still run and he said yes, while it’s not damaging, it’s just uncomfortable, he suggested having […]

Sweet Spot Frozen Yogurt

Mon, 11 Jun 2012 01:50:18 +0000

I was driving home on Rt. 9 today and I passed Trolley Square.  As I was traveling up the ramp to Edgell Rd I noticed a new sign where Vera’s Deli used to be.  I was in the left lane it was too late to take a right to check it out but actually turned […]

Getting direction

Thu, 09 Feb 2012 06:32:53 +0000

I’ve posted about this before but for anyone who gets hopeless about downtown (I’m guessing similar to how the officer in the above photo feels) there is a fine group of people who are part of the Framingham Downtown Renaissance group that have put together a new website you can check out at http://downtownframingham.com You can see […]
