I read through these primarily to see if they're worthwhile to suggest to clients who want to learn more. They also help solidify the information I read online. So not quite new skill, more a blend of continuing education and refresh of "how do I explain this in English".

Hi Penny, as you read the nonfiction titles, are you reading to learn a new skill as in Learning HTTP/2? Since you have background in that field, I am curious if you take notes, underline, etc or if you are reading for reviewing purposes. It would take me a long time to get through a book like that, even though I am interesting in learning about it. Thank you. Barb

Poor crocuses. I did laugh out loud at your comment. The kitties take the time change in their stride and don't let it upset their nap schedule.

A great start for 2018! I need to reread Elizabeth Moon, as I have not read any of her latest but I loved the Paksenarrion series. My kids like me to read the books they are reading so we can chat about them - I recommend the Keys of the Kingdom series by Garth Nix. The first book is Mister Monday. Also the Sea of Trolls series by Nancy Farmer which my 9 year old absolutely loved. Thanks for the lists of books you are reading, all the Sf/Fantasy books are going on my 'books to look out for' lists?

Thank you! I knew Naomi long before she was an award winning writer! I read the Temeraire series and I'm happy to know others enjoyed it too.

You have had a brilliant reading year, what a great aim for this year too! I would rec the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik. Great worldbuilding.
