Joan,
Steven definitely lived a good life. One can only wonder about what else he might have done. Thanks for writing.

Lisa,
Thanks so much for writing. I felt like I knew Steven personally after reading much of his important work from Iraq. And I felt a deep sense of loss upon learning of his death. You can be assured that he won’t be forgotten. It meant a lot to me to hear from you. Thanks for taking the time to write.

Steven Vincent served his country and his world with honor and courage..."Soldier with a Pen" does indeed seem to fit him brilliantly.

Thank you for sharing this moving tribute with the rest of us.

I second Lisa's thoughts. A wonderfully written tribute to a man who deserves much more recognition than he's gotten and whose work will stand the test of time.

I just wanted to say how deeply moved I was by your tribute to, and remembrance of my husband Steven, and how proud he would
have been had he been able to read it for himself.

I am always happy when Steven is remembered and memorialized by his fellow bloggers and writers; I
know how short memories can be, and it comforts me to know he is not being forgotten. Yours was a
particularly touching piece, and I took the liberty of forwarding it to his family and friends, all of
whom were as appreciative as I was to read it.

Again, thank you so much. I have printed out a copy of the post and will put it in the scrapbook I am compiling of what I consider the more noteworthy tributes that were written about Steven after his murder. His loss is, for me, a daily and constant grief - but to know he still commands respect and
admiration helps, a bit, to assuage that pain.
