Kevin: I would require a trial only in the absence of a prior written directive, and where close relatives dispute what the decedent's wishes would be.

1. They should have named it "wingnut." 4. I hope that 1) you don't require me (and/or the state) to pay to keep someone alive that one member of a jury is to dumb to admit is dead; and 2) you don't expect the executors of my living will to pay the slightest attention to some stupid buttinski court. 4a. Note that the Schiavo case is different and my [current] opinion is that the state should have no say in the matter until it is asked to write a check. Michael Schiavo's needs notwithstanding, Terri should at least be kept fed until the trust fund runs out. I'd dearly love to see the defendants in the original tort sue Michael Schiavo for the return of the excess and any trust funds spent on anything else (e.g. lawyers, cars, crack, etc).

Consider me signed up. Ask away! Flap PS. The last great (nob-steroid) hitter = George Brett of the Kansas City Royals

And unprecedented, at least for a whole season. (Who was the last guy to hit .400 in the majors? Ted Williams?)

In baseball, .500 is a great batting average.

But least one blogger I respect says a CCW permit requirement is no big deal, as long as the permit is reasonably available to all law-abiding citizens.
Well of course he says crap like that. Isn't he the same weasel who said basically the same thing about your FEC pledge?

However, over time I came to realize that Jeralyn Merritt’s mission is not primarily to explore the truth, but rather to stoke partisan fires on the left side of the political aisle.
I could not have said this better. Seriously, I would have been incapable of saying it better. I would have been incapable of saying it at all without using the "f" word a lot. I completely wrote Jeralyn off the day, back before the election, she decided to treat people who disagreed with her like truculent toddlers and give them time outs. And I'm sorry, Jeralyn, but "it's my site" isn't a good answer. The fact that you have the unalienable right to be a shrill, divisive, partisan hack doesn't change the fact that you're being a shrill, divisive, partisan hack.
