A Note

2016-09-02T11:10:38.046-04:00

Greetings -

Just a note to say that I have long since stopped posting to this blog - for lots of reasons.
I am leaving these posts here just because I occasionally look back on them and others may stumble upon them.

Some of these posts contain information that is no longer relevant and some posts address issues that are still on people's radars.

For what it's worth - I find some of what's here part of what I encountered along my own journey of political perspective.

In any case, some day I may delete the whole thing... but today is not the day :)

Just a warning - I may publish your comments or ignore them in moderating this blog.
Don't take it personally.

Cheers!

Merry Christmas from New Hampshire!

May this Christmas bring you and your family
the love and warmth of the season.

Peace to you, one and all!!

"I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year." ~ Charles Dickens (A Christmas Carol)

Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts. ~ Janice Maeditere

What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace. ~ Agnes M. Pharo

New Designs For State Flags

2013-11-05T08:00:09.331-05:00

As if we haven't had enough lunacy in our United States of America... Ed Mitchell now wants all of the States in the country to change their flags to promote "unity".Personally, I think someone has too much time on his hands. "Industrial designer Ed Mitchell has redesigned each of the flags of the states in the union to make them each carry a unified design across all 50 states. Why? They didn’t look like they belonged together.“When you look at them all together, there’s no indication they come from the same nation,” said Mitchell.Mitchell, who works for product design firm Bresslergroup in Philadelphia, took a look at the flags of all 50 states and was bothered by the lack of a blanket design scheme. “Discordant” was how he described them as a group on the project’s website. They also broke every rule of flag design. Yes, there are rules to flag design. Those rules include simplicity (meaning a child could draw it from memory), relevant symbolism, no more than three basic colors, no text or seals, and a distinctive look that doesn’t ape other flags.Mitchell set about unifying color and proportion across all fifty flags, using a vibrant red, white, and blue for each, while retaining some sense of symbolism for each. Mitchell only wanted to use the colors in the American flag. He says that what he ended up with represents a more united America. As they stand now, our state flags have no unity, Mitchell says."An article in Wired states:"Mitchell’s first move was to strip away “everything that reminded me of a divided nation,” he writes. All the Confederate-related stars and bars had to go. He took up some new symbols: the star and the stripe, for obvious reasons, along with the eagle, the olive branch, the shield, and Lady Liberty. He focused on geography as a key to a state’s visual identity, using blue to represent water, and triangles to represent hills, valleys and mountains. He also shrunk down the proportion of the flag, making it 1 by 1.5–a slightly boxier version than the longer 1 by 1.9 American flag, and a shape that looks appropriately subordinate flying under the Stars and Stripes on a flagpole."So this guy thinks that the only colors that should be used in state flags are red white and blue and that the flags should be very simplistic. He wants to ditch any hint of history, symbolism and state seals and change the sizes of the flags as well. The thing is this... every state in the union is not a clone of the federal government. They do not exist for the federal government.  The fact is that each state in our union SHOULD be different and unique. Every state was meant to be a laboratory that tries out different ways of governing and different ways of solving problems that face their citizens. Our union is merely a collection of individual self governing states. So it's our diversity which makes us successful. State flags represent their uniqueness and defines them, be it through their state seal, or some other icon. There's no need to have them look alike or cede their identity to a "higher governing power".This whole notion of state flags promoting "unity" under the red, white and blue is a bunch of hogwash meant to dilute the importance of state sovereignty and individuality and obliterate an element of a state's identity. We might as well think of this as the dumbing down of American flag design. I hope you take a moment to look at the flag designs Mitchell proposes. They are childish, meaningless, cold, simplistic and unnecessary; certainly not as colorful, or interesting as our current collection of state flags.I sure hope Mitchell's idea goes nowhere. These are state flags to fly and be proud of.They represent the diverse fabric and history of this country. Navy Seals Ordered To Remove Navy Jack from Their Uniforms

2013-11-04T08:00:15.437-05:00

Top brass under King Obama has made another edict to our troops...This from the article by Carl Higbie at the Daily Caller. The Navy Jack is the ‘don’t tread on me’ flag, one that has earned a revered place in America’s naval history and a beloved place in sailor’s hearts, through its use for over two centuries. This symbol of America’s naval ferocity has spanned our country’s entire existence, flying from the masts of the Continental Navy during the war of independence, to today’s War on Terror. In fact, an amendment to the Navy code called SECNAV Instruction 10520.6 clearly states that as of 31 May 2002 all ships are to fly the flag throughout the duration of the War on Terror. So why would ranking SEAL commanders ban the historical symbol? Is the proverbial top bass banning the flag? Is President Obama?Clearly the administration and sycophant “top brass” officers have degraded America’s military prestige; from hand-tying rules of engagement, to uniform regulations that make our military allegedly more compatible with foreign forces, to the banning of an awe-inspiring flag that traces its roots to the first U.S. Navy. We have a civilian-led military, but why should our ranking commanders be complicit in the administration’s war on it? Why don’t they stand up to Obama and his leftist cronies?  ... After reading the email, I first wondered, ‘why?’ (Actually, first I headed to the gym to take out my frustration and anger on some unsuspecting weights with the fury and intensity only a former Navy SEAL can exert.) Why would our leaders sell out our heritage? Why would they rob present and future sailors of our battle cry? When a friend of mine asked his leadership the same question, he was told, “The Jack is too closely associated with radical groups.” We must assume that this thought policeman embedded in the SEAL community is speaking of the Tea Party, whose flag (which also dates from the American Revolution) depicts a snake with the same defiant slogan as The Navy Jack. This begs yet another question: Who defines “radical group”? The last time I checked, all military personnel are under oath to “support and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” The Tea Party stands for constitutional rights and founding principles of civil liberties and limited government. Radical? Not unless you’re a leftist hell-bent on destroying the foundations of our country. Or as the President has stated as the objective of his presidency, “to fundamentally transform” America. My friends asked me what they should do about this order. I answer them by saying, “You took an oath to defend this country from enemies foreign and domestic. Will you put your career before country? Will you put your career before your sacred oath?” I cannot tell anyone how to respond. I can tell you though that an enemy — foreign or domestic — that tries to take the Navy Jack from my uniform could only do so by ripping the patriotic patch from the uniform of my cold, dead body.We all have choices to make. The Obama administration and the yes-men top brass have decided to wage war on our Navy’s heritage. Will the SEALs choose to defend that heritage and defy them, with all the impertinence the flag’s slogan implies? Or will they be tread upon?Additionally, Chris Hagerman writes:  The “Don’t Tread On Me” flag or First Navy Jack has flown on naval ships throughout our history including during the American Revolutionary War.  The rattlesnake is especially significant and symbolic.  The rattle has thirteen layers, signifying the original Thirteen Colonies.Official Navy instruction has authorized all naval ships to fly the flag throughout the duration of the War On Terror. Why is it then that senior personnel from within WARCOM and Naval Special Warfare are putting out instructions and memos stating that Navy SEALs are no longer authorized to wear the “Don[...]

The Mouse Goes RFID

2013-11-01T08:00:07.165-04:00

I just got back from a short visit to Walt Disney World Resorts. Specifically I stayed at the Disney Yacht Club. Upon check-in I was given this lovely bracelet which contains an RFID chip, although I could have refused it and just gotten a plain old card (like a credit card) with the chip embed in it... but I figured, what the heck... let's give this a whirl. Had I known about this beforehand, I could have even pre-ordered one in a color of my choice! In any case, the bracelet has information on it which links to your Disney "account".  It combines your room access, park passes, credit card (for purchases) and other aspects of your reservation. Upon check-in you are presented with a rather large box.. which contains your bracelet, with your name printed inside the box and on the bracelet itself.  Some families get multiple bracelets in one box... here is what it all looks like:  (click on the photo for a closer look)What an incredible waste of resources ... thousands of boxes printed and then thrown away. But what is really creepy is the personalization both on the box and on the back of the bracelet itself. The bracelet is then placed on a scanner where the registration people transfer/sync-up all of your information.  You then get to select a PIN number so that if someone happens to find a lost bracelet they cannot use it without the PIN number.and here is what the readers look like... you match up the Mouse on your bracelet to the reader and type in your PIN for transactions:and the one on your room door for access:It's that easy!Ok so everyone is so excited to have these bracelets - it makes it so easy to get around and spend money and do stuff.. and so many people were wearing them! It's like being part of a special "club"...and I was told how you had to have actual "contact" with readers and that no long range reader can read these RFID bracelets so they are "identity safe"... but they also admit in their privacy policy that there are long range readers that can read the bracelets - and it records your "experiences" and Disney may use that information for future targeted marketing.. plus"The security, integrity and confidentiality of your information are extremely important to us. We have implemented technical, administrative and physical security measures that are designed to protect guest information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use and modification. From time to time, we review our security procedures to consider appropriate new technology and methods. Please be aware that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable."  How nice. The bracelets themselves are kind of big and clunky.... oh, and if you have a pacemaker or some other kinds of implants, you should check with your doctor to verify that it is safe to wear. It is apparent that Disney is very heavily invested in this technology .. there are readers everywhere and every person checking in gets one.. especially the kiddos.  In fact, this technology probably saves Disney lots of money in resources when it comes to lost children.. just scan the kid and Bingo! they can be re-united with mummy and daddums in no time flat.So if you don't mind being tagged like a barnyard animal or sporting a modern high-tech version of the Nazi Concentration Camp tattoos.. then it's cool!Oh, and one other item I should mention... anytime you enter a Disney Park your bags are searched ... and when you scan your bracelet (or present your RFID chipped card) they also take a scan of your pointer finger! Unless of course, you are me and refuse to have a fingerprint scan done!I told the attendant that I did not want to scan my fingerprint and he had me step aside and present a photo ID to another attendant... that was all.  He looked at my driver's license and then at me and gave me the "okey-dokey" to proceed into the park.So Disney, a private corporation, is collecting thousands of fingerprint scan[...]

Obama's Stalinesque Purge of The Military

2013-10-25T08:00:03.716-04:00

197 officers have been relieved of duty since 2009 - Yes, 197... and that's a partial list.
(another article is here)

With reasons ranging from “leaving blast doors on nukes open” to “loss of confidence in command ability” to “mishandling of funds” to “inappropriate relationships” to “gambling with counterfeit chips” to “inappropriate behavior” to “low morale in troops commanded” to "budget cuts"...

It seems though more likely that these are the commanders who probably would not blindly follow orders to shoot American citizens or confiscate weapons from legal gun owners... and it is being said that this has become a new "litmus test" for command...

One commenter on this article stated, "This all part of the disarming of America and the systematic weakening of our military, this exactly what socialist govt's have done and are still doing today, example..Venezuela, Bolivia are just two that come to mind..not to mention attacks on the press...freedom of expression......anyone or anything that does not agree with the regimes way of thinking is the enemy."

When Obama says words like "My Military" - what does that really mean?
I think we might be getting a clue.

This is not good at all... not at all good. (image)

Good Things

2013-10-22T16:19:20.561-04:00

I am sure you have a list of good things too.
It's important that we figure out what is good in our lives since so much out of our control is not so good these days.
We have a mess in Washington DC - along with uncertainties in the rest of the world.

It might be time for each of us to reflect what is good and worth preserving in our own little corner of the world.

Our family has settled into a lovely new place, and we have begun some planning for ourselves.
We see an urgency to take care of ourselves (healthwise and household-wise) and to become part of a local community.

Self-sufficiency has become a theme of sorts.
So there is another list we've made - the things we need to do to be more self-sufficient.
Currently that list is being worked on... and we'll keep you posted :)

For starters, there will be a garden and chickens.

In the meantime, here's some fun projects for you!

Mourning on the 4th of July - Independence Day 2013

2013-07-04T05:00:08.928-04:00

I am re-posting this from last year with some updated comments - it is incredibly still relevant and still as alarming.  No Red, White and Blue for me this year.I am in mourning. It's not that I am not patriotic. And it's not because I don't love my country. Quite the opposite.I will be wearing black again this 4th of July - to mourn the loss of our freedoms and the trampling of our Constitution by Washington and the Obama administration. If you think everything is hunky dory in America, wear Red White and Blue on Independence Day, have a hot dog, and celebrate the illusion of the freedoms Americans pretend to enjoy. If you want to do something about getting those freedoms back, wear black instead and tell people why.I will tell you why:-We've lost our 4th amendment rights and others have been severely eroded. -SWAT Teams can kick down your door and shoot you and your dog dead - no questions asked. They can also drag you out of your home and put you in indefinite detention.- You are forbidden to protest anywhere near where the President, or any other federal VIP, may be speaking.   - Our president takes orders from NATO and the UN; Not Congress.- There is no such thing as Posse Comitatus anymore, and our military is now acting as policing forces in our own country. Russian troops are being trained to be used as policing forces in America. (Sounds like they are expecting riots)- Government agencies have been purchasing millions of rounds of ammunition - including hollow point.  They are also purchasing guns and training agents to shoot at American citizens.  - TSA/Our government is groping little old ladies and children at airports, and desensitizing the population to this kind of humiliating treatment in the the name of "security".- Our government (NSA) freely listens in on our telephone conversations and reads our mail, checking our credit card statements and phone bills. No warrants needed.... no probable cause.- We are being mandated to buy healthcare.- One seventh of our nation is on foodstamps, our troops get cold meals and cannot have 4th of July fireworks, White House tours halted, while our leader and his family fly all over the world to vacation and have a good time as we serfs foot the bill.- Our President acts like a dictator with his executive orders and Congressional "end arounds". A perfect example is his directing the DOJ not to deport people who have obviously broken immigration laws. The President is more interested in appeasing a voter base then upholding the law.- More and more people are being made dependent of government handouts...so that they will continue to vote for people who will give them handouts.- Every single day there is another Constitutional abuse, or scandal coming out of Washington, with hardly a care or rebuke. The oath of office means nothing to too many. Scandals come and go until the next news story comes out to bury serious corrupt behavior in the public consciousness. The American public is becoming inundated with so much bad political behavior that it is obvious that the Cloward Piven model of overwhelming the system is fully operational.  - Our President has a "kill list" and it is possible for American citizens to be on that list. How can I possibly wear Red, White and Blue when our Republic is dying? and when our Congress does not have the backbone to end this madness, or to use the means to properly punish people like Attorney General Eric Holder and others in the Dept. of Justice who are likely covering up some of the biggest government scandals ...(Fast and Furious - Benghazi). How can I possibly wear Red, White and Blue when my own government believes that Liberty Lovers such as me are "potential terrorists"?  When my government puts out a reports that state that the following characteristics are used to identify terrorists:- Amer[...]

Illegal Immigration - Wheeling And Dealing In DC

2013-06-26T09:37:15.698-04:00

An 1,100 page behemoth bill is being crafted in the Senate.Votes for this bill are being bought with treats and pork like never before. This is not representation for the American people! This bill is not even good for this country nor will it really secure our borders.Everyone in the US will end up "being registered" and it rewards lawbreaking illegals with preferential treatment. This bill is garbage and should be wholly rejected.- and of course Sen. Schumer is threatening riots in the streets if this bill is not passed..."On Sunday, Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the Democrat sponsor of the illegal alien amnesty bill currently making its way through the U.S. Senate, said their would be mass riots in our streets if the Republican majority blocks the bill when it comes to the House."- and of course the Democrat party is salivating over millions of new voters to support them in the next election.   Most Senators do not even know what they are voting for, nor do they seem to care what is really in this bill.. they are just getting whatever deal they can in return for their vote.It is being crammed down our throats just like that mess called Obamacare. The new Immigration Bill:1. will COST Taxpayers $6.3 Trillion, just for amnesty; via Heritage Foundation2. contrary to Rubio’s rhetoric, his no-welfare claim doesn’t hold up to scrutiny.3. illegal aliens won’t have to pay back taxes to the US (page 68).4. allows illegal aliens to access state and local welfare benefits immediately.5. calls for a national biometric database on all adult Americans.6. requires every American to obtain a National ID card to work legally in the U.S.7. grants amnesty simply after submitting a security ‘trigger’ ‘PLAN’.8. same chain migration provisions extended to family outside US at DHS discretion.9. DREAM fast-track amnesty with NO age cap allows citizenship in five years.10. over 400 waivers, exceptions, and exclusions. Enormous power grab by DHS.11. grants amnesty to criminals and gang members. Criminal ‘catch & release’ easier.12. makes legal immigrants eligible for subsidized Obamacare upon arrival. Costly.13. $150 million SLUSH FUND for kickbacks to groups who wrote, promoted bill.14. border agents put under thumb of DOJ; Office of Civil Rights (Sec.1111,1112, 1113).15. prohibits border officers apprehending alien who “appear eligible” for legalization (69-70).16. guts state laws prohibiting employment of illegal aliens. Anti-Arizona crowd; Rubio.17. requires taxpayers to foot the bill for illegals to fight deportation.18. on page 496, the bill explicitly ‘preempts’ states from enforcing immigration laws.19. does not require Amnestied illegal aliens to learn English; Or even ‘de facto’ English.20. provides protection for illegal identity thieves, but no restitution for victims.21. amnestied aliens who stole American identities given new SS # and clean slate.22. allows aliens, lobbies to sue US government for amnesty (page 75). Lawyer prize.23. employers who aided fraud by accepting bogus ID’s, SS #’s won’t face penalty.24. Families of elderly parents now living outside US, eligible for fed benefits in 10 yrs.25. deportations are suspended for everyone here; bill invites deported to come back.26. allows aliens who have been deported to return and get legalization (pages 61-66).27. makes application’s secret; never be used by DHS for deportation (page 118).28. ostensibly halts all deportations for 2.5 yrs. Subject to sole discretion of DHS.29. no fence. The plan only calls for DHS Secretary to “establish fence strategy”.30. gives secretary of DHS the sole power to certify if the borders is secure.31. provisions in bill show that 66% of Southern border will be unprotected.32. Requires only 3 [...]

Happy Father's Day!

2013-06-16T05:00:02.045-04:00

For all of you fathers out there ..Today is YOUR day!Have a wonderful day.. you deserve it!I hope you spend it surrounded by the people who love and appreciate you the most. My dad, Leonard Theodore, passed away in 1997 at the age of 77 years. He was a terrific dad, a loving grandfather and a really great person.I miss him so very very much.I know he would be so proud to see what his grandchildren have accomplished so far. He served in World War 2 in the Pacific, and then came home and raised a family. He did wonderful things in his community - like being a Boy Scout Master - and working to help raise money for our synagogue. He was always there to help a neighbor in need. He was hard working guy. He was honest and loving and had a great sense of humor. He helped raise 3 children and he was always there when they got themselves into some sort of jam.He was an avid bowler too - and bowled 2 perfect games in his bowling career. One 300 game happened shortly before he died. The picture above shows him with the trophies he won for bowling a perfect game.He was an avid Yankees fan. Dad was an inspiration to me and I will always hold him dear in my heart.Happy Father's Day dad, wherever you are in the universe! The other wonderful Dad in my life is my husband. The photo above shows him on the right sharing a glass of wine with our boys on Mother's Day.He's is a fantastic dad.Everyone who knows him appreciates his sense of humor. As a dad, he is always there for our children to offer words of advice, encouragement and candor. He's always been there whenever the kids needed help or guidance. He always made time for our children and makes family his priority. He's accomplished many things; like becoming a Distinguished Toastmaster. He's been involved with Boy Scouts and Homeschool projects and much much more..He learned to brew his own beer and make his own yogurt. There's so much I could say about him... but most of all he is honest, loving, kind-hearted and self-reliant, and I can't imagine having anyone else be the father of my children.I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life.   This July we celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary... and I would do it all again in a heartbeat! As you enjoy Father's Day here are a few Father's Day quotes:“The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.” -David O. McKay"He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it." ~Clarence Budington Kelland“A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.” -Unknown[...]

Surveillance Nation

2013-06-07T10:03:24.028-04:00

Fourth Amendment - Totally trashed.
So now it has been revealed how the US government is spying on American citizens... using phone records, social media, the Internet and a whole host of other means.

I present the new theme song of the National Security Agency (NSA).

width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OMOGaugKpzs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

America... what will you do to stop these abuses?
Will you continue to allow government spying on you?
Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty and warrants?
Whatever happened to the right to privacy?

You can thank the Patriot Act for this type of tyranny.
So - who voted for the Patriot Act???

Our government is using the NSA to collect phone records of completely innocent people and using the IRS to attack their political adversaries... they are trying to disarm the public while sending arms and money to enemies abroad.. this and much more... NOT a GOOD situation folks.... Not at all Good!

and who among us was called a lunatic when we said this kind of thing would happen?

Bravo to Becky Gerritson and Karen Kenney ... both women embody Americans who have had enough of the overreach and corruption and thuggery of this government - Eloquent, Factual, Respectful, and Heartfelt. CCDL Files Lawsuit In CT While CT Lawmakers Draft Additional Secret Legislation

2013-05-23T07:57:27.846-04:00

The Connecticut Citizens Defense League, the Coalition of Connecticut Sportsmen, Hiller Sports, MD Shooting and several individuals (all Plaintiffs) filed a legal complaint that is intended to overturn the recent ban on guns of common use in the State of Connecticut. The Press Release put out by CCDL said in part:Today, a widely anticipated lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Connecticut, challenging the constitutionality of the new firearms law that was passed hastily by the Connecticut legislature in response to the tragic shooting in Newtown by a disturbed individual. The lawsuit seeks immediate injunctive relief and a ruling declaring the new law unconstitutional under the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It alleges that Connecticut’s new firearms law is not only unconstitutional but dangerous, since it makes both citizens and law enforcement less safe by depriving citizens of firearms that are in common use throughout the country. The very firearms and design features banned by the new law are commonly used in part because of safety, accuracy and ease-of-use features that make them effective in the hands of citizens who must defend themselves and their families against criminals and the mentally ill who do not obey such laws.Brought on behalf of individual gun owners, retailers, and citizen’s defense and sportsmen’s organizations, the lawsuit seeks to vindicate the constitutional rights of citizens who are harmed by the broad prohibitions and unworkable vagueness of the new law. The legal challenge focuses on Connecticut’s ban of more than 100 additional common firearms that the law now dubs “assault weapons” and on the ban of standard design features, including magazines that hold more than 10 round of ammunition, that provide improved safety, accuracy, and ease-of-use. The lawsuit also challenges the practical bans imposed by the new law on an even broader array of firearms due to the law’s vague language and interpretative confusion combined with severe criminal penalties.Plaintiffs bringing the lawsuit include individuals such as an elderly widow who lives alone in a rural area where the emergency response time of a lone resident trooper serving the area is 45 minutes, a rabbi whose synagogue in the Bridgeport area has been broken into by intruders, a young professional woman whose efforts to defend herself are made more difficult by the loss of an arm due to cancer, among other individuals. In addition, retailers whose businesses have been severely harmed by the law have joined the lawsuit, which was conceived and organized by fellow-plaintiff organizations the Connecticut Citizens Defense League, commonly known as CCDL, and the Coalition of Connecticut Sportsmen. Both organizational plaintiffs represent large numbers of Connecticut citizens whose rights to own the firearms of their choice for self-defense and other lawful purposes, such as sports shooting and hunting, have been harmed by the new prohibitions.Donations to help fund the ongoing legal battle are being accepted by CCDL. Congratulations Graduate!

2013-05-20T05:00:06.706-04:00

We are so proud of our daughter, Rachel, who is now an official college graduate!
This past weekend she graduated from the University of New Haven - with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Industry with a Business Management Minor. She is hoping to land a full time job in the music industry working with music contracts, property rights, venue management, or tour management. She eventually hopes to attend law school and become an entertainment lawyer.

In case you are wondering: The Blue Stole is for studying abroad, the Green one (underneath the Blue) is for participating in the internship program while attending college, the Blue and Yellow cords were for being an Resident Assistant (RA), and the Yellow and White cords were for graduating Cum Laude.

Great job Rachel!  You have worked so hard and achieved so much!

Many congratulations to you!
We are so very proud of you and your accomplishments and wish you all the best!
The world is your oyster!! *

* THE WORLD IS AN (ONE'S) OYSTER - The proverb first appears in Shakespeare's play 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' (1600) Act II, Scene II.

Falstaff: I will not lend thee a penny.
Pistol: Why, then, the world's mine oyster, Which I with sword will open.'

In other words... The world is yours for the taking; and the oyster holds a pearl of great value!(image)

Teacher Gets Taught!

2013-05-10T05:00:11.378-04:00

Bravo to this young man, named Jeff Bliss, that had the guts to speak his mind to a "teacher".
He was totally fed up by Ms. Phung giving out another unimaginative packet of worksheets for the class to fill out instead of actually teaching a lesson to the class.
Kids need enthusiasm and inspiration from their teachers.

When a student like this - who is obviously craving for educational challenge and takes a stand for his right to learn - speaks out, it is the responsibility for us all to listen. We should be aware of the nonsense passing for "education" in our government schools. Thank goodness another student recorded this because we all need to see and hear this. It's just too bad that the rest of the class did not follow this young man out of the classroom.

Teachers like this - and students like Jeff - are the reason why homeschooling should be an unhindered (free) and viable option. I truly hope that this young man never changes his desire to question, to take a stand and to speak out!

After the above video went viral... the News picked up the story:

Forget Drones - Here Come Bugbots!

How's this for a Minority Report future?

frameborder="0" height="376" scrolling="no" src="http://videos.designworldonline.com/video/Air-Force-Bugbots/player?layout=&read_more=1" width="420">

I can see some legitimate applications for this technology - but in the wrong hands it will be insufferable.
However - that video has lots of "May do this" sort of language.. but we get what the ultimate goal is for this type of technology.

Here's the REAL one being funded by the Air Force. http://www.techject.com/dragonfly.html
Techjet was actually looking into selling them for about $200 a piece.

It's all not too far from this:

Obama Says - Don't Listen To Them ... Listen To Me

2013-05-06T09:16:07.033-04:00

Graduates of Ohio State University were treated to a speech by King... I mean, President, Obama... where he spoke to them about rejecting the voices they hear warning them of tyranny.

allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AIOF5R-7rx8" width="425">

These are the same students who will be spending the next 10-15 years struggling to pay off Federal Government backed student loans, paying higher taxes to Federal and State coffers, and paying for Obamacare, while adhering to an array of other laws meant to control and restrict their lives. Chances are many of these graduates won't even be able to find work - except for retail or menial service jobs - and may even be reduced to working for the government.

Yeah... so while they are being made slaves to the State, Obama advises them to reject any notion of tyranny... how interesting... and in the same breath he says they should take responsibility for their own lives.. which really means obey the State and work hard to pay your tribute.

So tell me - where is this "self-rule" that Obama speaks of? We are told where and what to smoke, how much soda we can have, what vaccines we must pump into our bodies, that we have no choice in knowing what's in our GMO laden food, who we can marry, what kinds of toilets we can purchase, whether we can collect rainwater, and on and on and on...

In the meantime, government has demonstrated how easily martial law is instituted, having innocent people and their homes searched without warrants, complete with armed tanks rolling down American city streets, and guns pointed at American homes as they continue the growing militarization of local law enforcement. All the while they demand citizen compliance and acceptance of these police actions. All of this, of course, is funded by the very taxes we all slave to pay! It should also be noted that the Federal government is in the process of stockpiling millions of rounds of ammunition, while summarily trying to disarm American citizens with Obama's anti-gun agenda.

So yeah, Class of 2013.... just ignore those voices which warn you of tyranny... and tyrannical controlling government policies... just move along.. nothing to see here... and by all means ... "don't gum up the works".

Testimony On The Immigration Bill

2013-04-30T05:00:12.700-04:00

Illegal Immigration still is a huge problem for this country... mostly because our laws are not being enforced and we have an administration which seems to be purposefully ignoring our laws and even promoting illegal immigration in many ways.. we even have "sanctuary cities". And now, in some places illegal aliens are able to get drivers licenses, and soon may be able to serve on juries. No doubt they have been voting in elections as well.

It is out of control!

Here is testimony from Chris Crane, ICE Officer and President of the National ICE Council representing our nation's ICE officers, agents and staff. Crane is also a former marine.

What is CISPA?

2013-04-25T05:00:03.404-04:00

Here is a great explanation of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA)

width="425" height="344" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8VlRKUP4fpc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

It's not good.

The legislation was introduced on November 30, 2011 by U.S. Representative Michael Rogers (R-MI) and 111 co-sponsors. It was passed in the House of Representatives on April 26, 2012, but was not passed by the U.S. Senate. President Obama's advisers have argued that the bill lacks confidentiality and civil liberties safeguards and they advised him to veto it. In February 2013 the House reintroduced the bill and passed it on April 18, 2013. (Read more on Wikipedia)

I hope it gets stopped in the Senate.

Again, we must contact our Senators and tell them to vote against it.
