Educational sailing trip to MX looking for boat 2009-07-03T12:09:37-07:00 Hi,I am planning an education sailing trip to southern Mexico this fall, on the effects of climate on our Pacific coast. We will be stopping in ports speaking to schools in CA and MX, using the boat as a tool to understand sustainability, fresh water issues, and clean energy. The trip has a Cal 30 available, which we could sell or trade. We are interested in upgrading to a larger vessel in order to accomodate kids during port visits. We are qualifying as a 501c3 so could give a tax-deduction if a boat is donated. If you have a bluewater cruising boat and aren't using it much, and would like to breath life into it, this could be a great cause. Or, a partnership might also be feasible (sailing together on the program), if you are planning on cruising to Mex this fall. The timing is ideally November '09 - May '10, destination is Huatulco in the state of Oaxaca. Trip partners include the Rotary Foundation and Waterkeeper Alliance, who are providing logistical support during community visits. She is powered by a Chevy 350, rebuilt to marine standards and 400 cubic inch displacement with fresh water cooling.
