Festina: I agree that a return trip is needed. I feel like I skimmed over too many things. And I haven't been to the new money museum yet! I went years ago with the kids and really enjoyed it. Time to go back! And I will definitely check out the TVO series. Sounds cool! Allison: I am very jealous of your pink phone. We have a big black one with a rotary dial that I love. It still works too!

We haven't made it there yet since it re-opened but hoping to soon. It looks great! Funny about the pink princess phone. We just found one in a box in the garage and it is now cleaned up and on the bookshelf in my bedroom. So retro!

Speaking of Science...I recently watched this excellent SCIENCE series on TVO (Human Universe / with Dr. Brian Cox). If you haven't been following it, you can watch on the TVO site. This one (link below) is a great example. So, so, so good. Nota: They remove the series a few months after it's played. https://tvo.org/video/documentaries/human-universe/ep-1-spaceman

We went a while back. Had low expectations because had heard very little and thought it was polite media (if you can't something positive....etc). It's really good. Seriously. I saw about 1/3 of it and skimmed through the rest. It appears I missed some excellent content. I'm going back. Soon! Really pleased they did a great job. Science deserves it. *** You know another museum that's fantastic? The Money museum at Bank of Canada. Top notch. Fun and interactive.

I hope you like it Anne! Do you batch cook soups for your soup-lovin' family? It'd be easy to freeze in single serving containers!

That's funny - my family's the opposite. They love soup and I can't stand it but they want soup at least once a week. So, I guess I have to give in. I made a broccoli soup last week and everyone liked it but me. I found it was too thick. I'm going to give this recipe a try and see if it's any better. Thank you for the recipe.

Awesome! Glad to hear! You may be the only one I've managed to convince, Festina. If so, the coffee is yours at the end of the month! If other Ottawa residents make an appointment to give blood and leave their comments here it will become a random draw. :)

Comment on Winterlude: On a wintery weekday night in Ottawa by andrea tomkins

It's crazy to think that IS the *real* website! How is this selling Winterlude to millions of potential visitors from all over the world? How is it serving Ottawa residents who want more info? (Answer: it's not.) I'm still shaking my head about it.
