New Blog To Facilitate Sale

I have set up a new blog to facilitate the sale of my collection, including kaiju and non-kaiju vinyl figures and also graphic art (e.g., Tim Biskup).

You can visit my new ModPopShop blog here.

Or follow along on my Flickr page.

Sale Coming Up. Watch This Space!

I am planning on selling off most of my vinyl (and resin) toy collection, including custom figures and other limited edition figures. I will be posting notices here, or on another yet to be created blog, but either way I will let you know here first. Details will be forthcoming... I will respond to any inquiries in the meantime as time permits. If you don't hear back right away, it probably just means I am busy doing other things.

(Picture is  for purposes of illustration only. Item not necessarily for sale. I just hate posting without a picture. Again, details about what I will be selling will be forthcoming as I make decisions about particular figures.)

Mogunesu モグネス

A beautiful, minimalist, sculpt, with very nice paint. This is the orange version (he also came in brown version and a gold version). Mogunesu was the first figure in the Marmit Vinyl Paradise series. マーミット 世紀の大怪獣シリーズ ビニールパラダイス 「マグマ大使」Mogunesu モグネス appeared three episodes of the Space Giants TV show: Episode 2 “The Subterranean Menace” (ガム! モグネスを倒せ), Episode 3 “Attack of the Molesaurus” (宇宙怪獣モグネス襲来す) and Episode 4 “The Bomb!” (危機一髪 東京!).The Space Giants, known in Japan as “Magma Taishi” or “Ambassador Magma” (マグマ大使), was a manga and tokusatsu TV series created by famous mangaka Osamu Tezuka. The TV series was produced by P Productions, and aired on Fuji TV from July 4, 1966 to September 25, 1967, with a total of 52 episodes. It was the first color tokusatsu TV series in Japan, beating Ultraman to the airwaves by 6 days. Basic plot of Space Giants:“The alien invader Goa plots to conquer the Earth. He first warns the Murakami family (father Atsushi, mother Tomoko, and son Mamoru) of their invasion, and demonstrates his powers by transporting them to a prehistoric jungle and destroying a Giant Dinosaur (in reality, Agon, the title monster of a Godzilla-like TV series.) before their very eyes. But they will not agree to surrender to Goa, so hope comes in the form of Magma (sometimes called Goldar), an armored, golden giant with long hair and antennae. He and his human-sized wife Mol, both created by the wizard Earth (who sure enough lives deep beneath the Earth), are sent to defend Earth against Goa. They befriend Atsushi and Mamoru, the latter has Magma emotionally touched, as he wanted to have a child with his wife Mol, so Earth creates a duplicate of Mamoru, named Gam (who wears a helmet with antennas). Earth gives Mamoru a whistle, with which he can call Gam (when blown once), Mol (when blown twice) and Magma (when blown thrice) in times of crisis. So when Goa unleashes his various daikaiju, chances are, Magma, Mol, and Gam will fly to the rescue.” [Source: Wikipedia.]For more info, see here:マグマ大使Photos © 2010 Geozilla Omni-Monster. I have been involved pursuing other life interests and have not had time to attend to this blog. My plan is to get back here in a big way at some point, but...

In the meantime, please check out this Kaiju SlideShow.

Grab a cool one, put some good music on, sit back, and enjoy!

(Here are just a few of the more than 1000 kaiju images included in the show.)

I submitted four photos for the recent Super7 It Came From Skullbrain “Imagery of Japanese Toys” show in San Francisco. One of them is shown above, and the rest are below. I have included some information about each photo and the price that will be charged by Super7 if you would like to buy one.If you would like to purchase any of them, PLEASE CONTACT SUPER7 DIRECTLY. You can find them here at Super7's webstore under my name, Geozilla. Note: In all cases, the listed prices are less than what I paid to have each of the respective photos matted and framed. Some of them were more expensive because of the size and quality of the frame. Also, Super7 is doing maintenance on their website this week, so it will be down now and then. If you don't get through, please try again later. All of my photos were printed by me on professional archival quality photo paper (luster finish) using and Epson R2880 printer and Epson Ultrachrome K3 ink (this ink has a lightfastness rating of over 100 years). Also, all were framed using anti-reflective “Museum Glass” that is really very effective at reducing glare (it is much less visible compared to the regular glass used for framing) and provides 99% UV protection. If you have any questions you can leave a comment here.Enjoy!“Garamon” (Shown above)Subject: Marmit GaramonImage Size: 6.25 x 7.5Custom dry mounted and mattedBlack metal frame (12 x 16)Anti-reflective “Museum Glass”$50.00“Gaira Is Cross"Subject: M1 Go GairaImage Size: 5.25 x 7.5Custom dry mounted and mattedBlack metal frame (12 x 16)Anti-reflective “Museum Glass”$50.00“Zag Head"Subject: Gargamel ZagoranImage Size: 4.5 x 5.0Custom dry mounted and mattedCustom wood frame.
