Assistant Environmental Services Financial Manager

Under the direction of the Environmental Services Financial Manager, performs highly responsible supervisory and administrative work in assisting with the direction and financial administration of operating capital improvement projects for the Department of Environmental Services. Work involves the efficient administration of all financial and administrative matters associated with both the sewer and solid waste operating and capital improvement programs. Work involves the supervision of professional, technical, and clerical staff; financial stewardship of City-Parish funds; and, in the absence of the Environmental Services Financial Manager, representation of the department in a variety of public forums (e.g. Metro Council meetings). Work requires exceptional teamwork and the use of independent judgment within established policy guidelines. Performs other work as requested.




Auditing Manager

Finance Department-Revenue Auditing

Under the direction of the Finance Director and Assistant Finance Director, performs highly responsible professional administrative and supervisory work as head of the Revenue Auditing Division or Internal Auditing Division. Work involves responsibility for directing, planning and coordinating the activities of professional and clerical employees engaged in verifying returns of businesses for sales, use, occupational license and other tax purposes, determining the liability of taxpayers, or performing complete and detailed audits of all accounts and financial transactions in City-Parish departments and agencies. Work is performed with complete independent judgment in accordance with established policies, rules, regulations, and professional standards and is reviewed through progress reports and discussion of overall results. Under the direction of a departmental supervisor, performs responsible skilled multidisciplinary technical work in the field of construction inspection of residential and/or commercial projects. Work involves inspection in assigned building trades of a variety of projects completed by contractors for compliance with specifications, ordinances and regulations. Work may also include investigating, enforcing and resolving complaints regarding city codes and ordinances pertaining to signs, housing, litter, overgrowth, abandoned vehicles, garbage containers, and dump sites. Work is reviewed by superiors through written reports, conferences and results obtained. Performs other work as requested.

Work includes the training and scheduling of maintenance personnel in multiple trades. An employee in this class is subject to unusual working hours as well as twenty-four hour call for situations needing immediate attention. Supervision may be exercised over professional and clerical personnel through the review of completed work. Employees of this classification are distinguished from Auditors by a greater level of experience, as well as a greater degree of authority and responsibility exercised. Performs other work as requested.
