Deputy Chief EMS Operations Officer

Under the general direction of the Chief EMS Operations Officer, performs responsible technical medical work in the supervision of EMS field operations. Work involves assisting in planning, organizing, coordinating and directing field operations activities to ensure delivery of comprehensive prehospital emergency medical care to all persons within East Baton Rouge Parish. Employees of this class are subject to twenty-four hour call in cases of disaster and major medical emergencies. Performs other work as requested.




EMS Shift Supervisor

Under the general direction of the Chief EMS Operations Officer, performs responsible technical medical work in the supervision of EMS field operations on a particular twelve hour shift. Work involves direct supervision of the department's vehicle fleet and medical supplies. Performs other work as requested.

Under the general direction of an employee of a higher classification, performs responsible administrative and supervisory work in coordinating and directing the activities of supply warehouses. Work involves the development and regular review of warehouse policies and procedures, planning inventory ordering and storage through the interpretation of computer inventory reports, and regular communication with warehouse employees. Position may supervise the work of other employees and student interns. Work is reviewed through inspections, reports and conferences. Performs other work as requested.




Legal Specialist

City Court-Criminal Traffic

Under the direction of a higher classification, performs responsible clerical work involving duties of a legal nature. Work may involve preparing and processing court records including accepting and recording traffic fines, issuing and recalling bench warrants and reassigning court dates. Employees of this classification should be familiar with legal terminology, legal format and legal forms. Independent judgment is exercised in the performance of assigned duties and incumbents are sometimes required to assist higher level employees in the courtroom or office. Performs other work as requested.




Maintenance Worker Supervisor II

Some positions in this classification may be on 24-hour call out for emergency situations. Work is reviewed for the accomplishment of desired results through regular conferences. Treatment Plant Operator I

Under the supervision of an employee of a higher classification, performs responsible and skilled work in the operation of sewage plant equipment on an assigned shift. Work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of a sewage treatment plant or pumping station on an assigned shift. Work requires technical knowledge and the use of independent judgment in operating the various kinds of equipment, which are used in the treatment of sewage. Employees of this class may be required to work shift work, overtime, or be on twenty-four hour call. Work is reviewed by a supervisor who checks records and charts and makes daily inspections through the plant to check the condition and upkeep of equipment. Performs other work as requested.
