Mechanical Operations Manager

Dept of Buildings and Grounds - Public Building Maintenance

Sep. 22 - Sep. 28, 2017

Friday 12 Noon - Thursday 5 pm

Under the direction of a technical superior, performs skilled and managerial work in directing the mechanical, electrical and construction operations for the Department of Buildings & Grounds. Work involves responsibility for the operation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning and heating systems, electrical, plumbing and construction projects for City-Parish buildings. Work includes the training and scheduling of maintenance personnel in multiple trades. An employee in this class is subject to unusual working hours as well as twenty-four hour call for situations needing immediate attention. General supervision is exercised over several mechanical operations supervisors and crews. Performs other work as requested.

Under the direction of a technical superior, performs skilled and supervisory work in mechanical, electrical, and construction operations. Work involves responsibility for the operation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning and heating systems, electrical, plumbing and/or construction projects for City-Parish buildings or the airfield facilities maintenance. Work includes the training and scheduling of maintenance personnel in the assigned trades. An employee in this class is subject to unusual working hours as well as twenty-four hour call for situations needing immediate attention. General supervision is exercised over several maintenance and operation crews. Performs other work as requested.




Special Projects Engineer

Dept of Transportation & Drainage-Engineering

Under general direction and supervision of a Chief Engineer, performs responsible administrative and professional engineering work as a licensed professional engineer directing a major program for departments performing public works functions. Work involves oversight of multi-million dollar capital improvement programs, including budget control, federal and state compliance issues, and administration of contracts for professional engineering and nonprofessional services for construction. Performs other work as requested.
