The Columbian in Vancouver, Washington, reported that Micah Lape of Skyview rushed for 415 yards and four touchdowns on 34 carries Friday in Skyview's 34-16 non-league victory over Hudson's Bay at Kiggins Bowl. Two players hold the single-game individual rushing record at 471 yards, most recently by Easton Johnson of Hazen in 2005. Jonathan Stewart of Timberline, now at the University of Oregon, ran for 422 yards in a game in 2002. ... Godsey Tross scored four touchdowns for Lindbergh (1-1) in its 42-38 win against Auburn Mountainview, running for two touchdowns with a 60-yard interception and an 80-yard kickoff return for scores. ... Bellevue's first team defense hasn't given up a point in two games against quality offenses in Skyline and Mount Si.

Jake Locker is a popular guy these days, receiving an extraordinary amount of media attention during the past year for his football talents, as well as committing to play college football next fall at Washington. That attention continued after he passed for 1,603 yards and 27 touchdowns with only three interceptions, and rushed for 1,338 yards and 24 touchdowns on 127 carries to lead Ferndale to the Class 3A state football title last fall in Tacoma. It followed him through basketball season, and magnified this spring because he's also an outstanding baseball player with the potential to play professionally. P-I: A lot of people implied you might just skip football and play pro baseball instead, which had to be a distraction this spring. Did you have a chance to enjoy your senior baseball season? New WIAA League Classifications

The WIAA posted the league alignments for the 2006-2008 classification cycle. The biggest changes come from the SPSL, Seamount and Narrows Leagues. Two new leagues were added in those areas - the SPSL 3A and Western Cascade Conference. Here's a link to view the new classifications and leagues.
