 (Nicknamed ‘Cookie’, formerly of Sarnia, ON.) nee Reitmeier November 16, 1917 – February 7, 2012
The world has lost a feisty, faith-filled lady.  Little Miss Edith, passed away on her predeceased son Jack’s birthday! Edith was born in Ashern, Manitoba; the beloved daughter of Julius Reitmeier and Euphoria ‘Rosalia’ (nee Bruja). Husband, Henry John O’Neill, predeceases her. Loving mother to James ‘Jim’ (Marilyn) O’Neill (London, ON), Kathleen ‘Kitty’ (LeRoy) Batson (Sarnia, ON.), John ‘Jack’ predeceased (Peggy, predeceased) O’Neill (London, ON.), Michael ‘Rick’ (Jane) O’Neill (Sarnia, ON.) and Erin ‘Dea-Dea’ (Vince) Price (Orillia, ON.). Edith is survived by sisters; Emie Reitmeier (British Columbia) and Martha Sala (Manitoba). Predeceased by sisters; Molly, Julie, Rose and Tillie, as well as brothers; George, Bill and John. Edith was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews and thirteen grandchildren with an additional twelve great grandchildren. Edith was envied for her quick wit and kooky sense of humor. The family wishes to thank the nurses of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their utmost support and compassionate care in the latter days of Edith’s life.  Special thanks goes to the staff and all of her friends at Tudhope Manor Retirement Residence for welcoming Edith into their family upon her transition to Orillia and for the past five years. A gratified appreciation is noted to the services of Dr. James Lam, for his friendship, guidance and promise of hope throughout her time as his patient. At Edith’s request, if you so desire, donations can be made to the ORILLIA Branch of the SPCA (467 West St. N, Orillia, ON.) and/or the ORILLIA Salvation Army (55 Wyandotte St. Orillia, ON.). Margaret Leduc, of Midland, formerly of Port Severn, beloved wife of the late JW Dorcey Leduc; loving mother of Suzanne Johns, Thomas (Ann), Rosemary (Patrick) Kearns, Anne (Terry) Price, Carolyn (Ken) Weidenhamer, and Dennis (Jaky). Grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 12. Predeceased by her brothers Alvin, Wilfred, and Frank and sisters Lois and Bernadette. Peacefully at the Hill House Hospice, Richmond Hill, on Wednesday February 1, 2012 at the age of 84. Born April 1st 1927 in Toronto of parents Eva Louise (Moody) and William Henry. Predeceased by her loving husband James Harrington Jones. Beloved mother of Nancy Louise Cash, Tracey Anne Cash, John William Cash and stepson Stephen Stanley Jones. Grandmother to Matthew, Greg, Kevin, Derek, James, Cameron, Sarah, Dallas, Alexandra, Cassandra and great-grandmother to Jorja. Norma had lived the past 37 years in Orillia where she enjoyed boating, bridge, skiing and the company of family and friends. Special thanks to Dawn Marie Campbell for her loving care and friendship to Norma. Also deserving praise is Champlain Manor in Orillia and the Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill for their wonderfully compassionate support to Norma and her family. Cremation has taken place.
