Boyd's strong effort is promising for rotation

Everything seemed to be working for Tigers left-hander Matthew Boyd on Sunday at Target Field. Boyd had a great feel for his entire repertoire, and used it in the right spots to rack up a career-best eight strikeouts in the 9-6 victory over the Twins. He threw a season-high 105 pitches, while allowing three runs over six innings.

Tigers top Twins to end road trip on high note

Jose Iglesias homered late to support a solid showing by Matthew Boyd as the Tigers claimed the series finale over the Twins, 9-6, on Sunday at Target Field. The win was Detroit's third series victory over Minnesota in as many meetings, and the Tigers hold a 6-3 record against the Twins.

Norris exits Triple-A rehab start in first inning
