Travis Shaw hit a three-run homer and Lorenzo Cain homered in his Kansas City return as the Brewers won their seventh straight. Milwaukee jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third with some clutch two-out offense. Ryan Braun's RBI single that opened the scoring was a wicked shot off the right foot of Royals starter Ian Kennedy, who exited after three innings with a contusion. Salvador Perez homered in his return from the DL for K.C.



Acuna to make MLB debut for Braves today

Ronald Acuna had to wait a little longer than anticipated, but the much-hyped prospect will now have the chance to display his tremendous talents at the Major League level. A Major League source said Acuna was informed late Tuesday night he will join the Braves in Cincinnati for Wednesday night's game against the Reds.

Andrelton Simmons homered twice and drove in five runs as the Angels clinched the series over the AL West-rival Astros. Simmons' three-run homer during a four-run seventh against Joe Smith proved to be the difference. Mike Trout hit his MLB-leading 10th homer and Cam Bedrosian picked up his first save. Neither Shohei Ohtani (5 1/3 IP) nor Charlie Morton (4-plus IP) had his best stuff.

It's the ballpark where Schwarber notched his first big league hit and his first home run in 2015. It's the ballpark where he returned from a torn ACL to serve as the Cubs' dynamo DH in that fascinating '16 Fall Classic. And on Tuesday night, it was the ballpark where his two home runs keyed a dinger derby off Tribe starter Josh Tomlin in a 10-3 victory.

Scooter Gennett made a defensive gaffe in the top of the ninth that forced extra innings vs. the Braves on Tuesday. But Gennett made up for it by delivering a two-run homer in the bottom of the 12th for a 9-7 walkoff victory. Against lefty Max Fried, Joey Votto drew a leadoff walk to begin the 12th. That set it up for Gennett, who drove a 1-2 pitch into the right-field seats for his second homer of the night and the game-winner. It was the third multi-homer game of his career.
