Hi, I have a few providers working on the same assignment, but I don't see a way to get rid of providers that aren't meeting expectation without ending the entire assignment for all other providers. Is there a way to do this? THanks.

Hello guys! A certain buyer was posting job from Odesk, hiring providers
and continue the application process thru emails outside Odesk. Then the buyer is asking the provider to deposit to their paypal account an amount of money which they said as a processing fee in order to get the manuals and instructions in getting started with the job. Is it a reliable practice or a scam? I just need clarifications with this issue, I dont mean to distract any procedures. Thanks

Hi all,

HELP!! I am really disappointed with myself at not finding a single job for almost 6 months now. I am really desperate for any kind of job at this point but my patience and motivation is wearing out very quickly.

Could anyone please review and comment on my profile. Does it require some more improvements or should I change it completely all together?

I have a client in need of getting a forum rolling and I suggested he hire a couple of writers to make a couple posts on his forum weekly. I looked on oConomy and looked in the job search to try and get a feel for the average rate for such a thing, but came up with nothing.

Any help?

I know especially here in the Philippines, not all people has their own PC at home but they still have the talents and skills in different areas. I juz wanna show you to work in odesk without having your own PC at home.

1.First Buy a Flash Drive in CDR king i think its only 400 pesos.
2.Install portable odesk team on your portable drive. Also go to these website and download and install all the necessary softwares that you might in need in your chosen area.Like open office.org portable photoshop dreamweaver firefox etc.

3.Go to the nearest and cheapest computer shop and start doing your odesk assignments.

You can also do this if you have brown out black out or power outrage in your place.

Quick question....As a buyer, is it possible hire a company rather than an individual? And I dont mean hiring a person affiliated to a company, I mean just a company without an individual attached? This would then leave it up to the company what engineer they choose to assign to the task.

I have joined oDesk last month.
And I am trying get some job through it. but some how I am not able to find even a one job.

I am C# .net professional basically a computer engineer.
I have 2 years of experience in the same domain,
I have quite a good knowledge in sql server too.

My skill set include: HTML, SQL Server, C# .net, C, C++

How do i get a good assignment from oDesk?

Hi, I am a potential buyer still trying to understand all the aspects of odesk. Most things are explained pretty thoroughly on the site. However, I can't seem to find a consolidated, comprehensive discussion of the tools on odesk and the practices of the odesk community for managing source code. Does the site offer a tool for storing code? Does that storage mechanism have rights management? For securing it to make sure developers aren't misappropriating? If there is not a technical tool as part of odesk, what are the best practices of the community?

It actually seems odd to me that this topic is not more prominent . . . maybe I'm just missing it on the site so if there's already a resource, could someone just point me to it? Thanks very much.
