Hi. I'm new.

I can't actually believe I'm asking this, but.. well, here goes:

Has anyone ever heard of/read/seen any Faith No More/Mr Bungle/Mike Patten fanfiction written?

In particular, slash fanfiction.

Bet with a friend, and whatnot.

Don't kill me. Thanks. Sorry. Bye.

So I went to see Firecracker last night in Royal Oak.

Half-way through the movie the lights come on and the projector turns off.

Turns out that the reel containing the second half of the movie never arrived.

Needless to say I was pissed cause I was actually starting to get into the movie.

Sleepytime Gorilla MuseumSGM

Fri, 21 Oct 2005 21:50:41 GMT

Last night I saw Sleepytime Gorilla Museum for the first time & was completely astounded. These guys are amazing in an incredibly bizzare way. Think Bjork, Frank Zappa, Mr. Bungle, & The Blue Man group with a Cirque Du Solei experimental dancer - throw them all in a box & bam, you have Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. If you are wondering what relations this may have with Bunglearmy - Trey Spruance recently signed them on his own label Mimicry Records.
Carla Kihlstedt, violinist & partial lead vocalist of SGM also contributed her strings to the Mr. Bungle album California.

Take the time to check them out www.sleepytimegorillamuseum.com
You won't be sorry.

Just to say hello

Mon, 17 Oct 2005 17:02:25 GMT

I just joined this community and wanted to say hello. I am currently in Houston Tx due to evacuating New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina. I have gotten to read a few of the posts and plan on reading more later. But work calls and I have to get back on track drafting up a letter.

Have a good day.

Fri, 07 Oct 2005 07:36:32 GMT

New Fantômas/Melt Banana Split

Unhip Records has released a 3″ CD and a 5″ vinyl split of a new Fantômas song and a new Melt Banana song.

Fantômas SideThe amazing split between FANTôMAS and MELT-BANANA is finally ready. Some copies have already ended up on e-bay (copies that were originally sold at the recent Fantômas european shows), but please don’t pay ridiculous prices for it and buy directly from us because there’s no need to worry that the record will sell-out anytime soon (also because it hasn’t been sent to distributors yet). And we haven’t started to sell it mailorder either, mainly because we’ve been (and will be) around the country for festivals so the mailorder will be resumed on Monday September 5th. Sincere apologies to all the people who have ordered the record, please have some more patience and you’ll get it!! Also to those who sent e-mails while I was on vacation, you’ll get your answer asap. We’ll be also accepting paypal payments from now on. The records are all hand-made (this is also why it took us a while to have them all packaged) and comes in 2 formats: the vinyl is a 5 inch while the cd is square-shaped and the diagonal of the square is three inches long.

Melt Banana SideNeedless to say they’re incredibly neat to look at and to be held in your hands, which should be enough of a reason to go out and get it. The split single contains two brand new exclusive songs. Fantômas (who are Mike Patton, King Buzzo, Trevor Dunn and Dave Lombardo for those living under a rock) go crazy on their “Animali In Calore Surriscaldati Con Ipertermia Genitale” (animals in heat overheated with genital hyperthermia), while Japan’s noisecore legends Melt-Banana gave us the wonderful “Cat In Red”. The artwork was drawn by Igort, a friend of ours who also happens to be one of the most talented artists in the world of comics. Check out his website www.igort.com , he’s also responsible for the Unhip Records logo.

Side Projects

Tue, 04 Oct 2005 00:48:32 GMT

Ok i saw the earlier post and i am going to try and include as many of the Bungle spin off's/side projects that i can possibly remember, here we go:

Patton:

Moonraker - various members overtime, kind of improv stuff, Buckethead played on it

w/ john Zorn (New York City Jazzbo gone hardcore, then back to jazz and jewish music)

Naked City (Voice) - Live only
Masada (Voice/Samples)
Hemophiliac (Voice/samples) AMAZING..get this recording (Tzadik Records)

Patton has done loads of apearances with zorn including multiple apearance throughtout the tzadik "Great Jewish Music" series (including ennio morricone and Marc Bolan*)
*first ever fantomas track Chariot Choogle

Patton is a bit of an apearance whore, he has appeared on to name a few, Ray Paci's Corleone, Sepultura albums, Bjork's Medulla album.

House of Dicipline - Live only except one single with bob osertag, kind of strange loops and gayness

Phono Sanjo - Pattons worst ever project, really bad

Perfect Victim - only ever did 1 show, bootlegs are foating about though

Feedback Etudes - Patton noise fest, mic and volume manipulation stuff, good

Weird Little Boy - PAtton and Trey's worst ever recording together (with zorn and friends)...even they hate it

Fantomas - Patton's best current band, if you havent heard them you are a fool

Tomahawk - Jesus Lizard but poppier, i like em, many fans dont

Patton vs Executioners - half of this record is really good, but half is not

Kaada/Patton - amazing, especially if you love Kaada as well

Peeping Tom - this will probably never happen, and if it does it will probably suck

Dillenger Escape Plan - excellent avant metal record, patton on top form

theres more but i cant remember them right now...

Trey Spruance

Three Doctors Band - kind of jokey bar band, really funny

Zip Code Rapists - another funny band that the 3 docs spun off from

Faxed head - Brilliant Disabled Metal, GET THESE RECORDS!!

Noddingturd Fan - Trey's solo project turned band w/ Trev Dunn

Plainfield - AMAZING punk a billy rock, jello Biafra was in them for a while

Forms - basically a solo project again but played live by :

Secret Chiefs 3 - Basically the best thing on earth, a masterpiece of modern music, and my favourite band along with bungle, Fantomas and Messer Chups all the albums are amazing get them all

Millers High Life - really obscure trey solo thing, released web of mimicry track on compilation

Crafty Ladies - kind of weird, releases a "Crafty Ladies Christmas" 7"

Scourge - had original Bungle drummer, kind of lame metal

theres a bunch of live only stuff as well including the Bon Larvis band, The hammers of eternity and Los Parisitos

man this is taking ages sorry

Dunn:

WAAAAAY TOO MANY BANDS ... ask me another time

Danny:

Dieslehead - poppy stuff, very cool

Glitch - aussie experimental band CHECK THESE GUYS

Barefoot Hocky Goalie - rock opera's!!

he has a new band too but i cannae remember their name

Bar: (pronounced Bear)

appears on Secret Chiefs, and hammers of eternity...he is in a new band as well (maybe the same one actually) but is pretty lazy

FUUUUUCK that took ages! I missed a few, and i will add Trevors stuff in tomorrow when i have a couple of hours spare...hope it was educational

Kaada/Patton

Mon, 12 Sep 2005 04:21:09 GMT

If anyone here checks the Kaada official site regularly or has Caca Volante bookmarked, you probably heard about the footage from a Kaada/Patton show. I noticed that some folks were able to view the videos and others, like myself, were unable. Does anybody know why that is? For the people who the videos loaded for: How were they, and do you know of any alternative sources?

These gorgeous photographs on the site have me quite eager to view these. What does everybody think of the Kaada/Patton band anyway? I'm speechless at how beautiful the music is, and I have no idea what other fans think of it.

What Should I Expect?Fat Freddys Drop - 5.Dark Days

Wed, 24 Aug 2005 13:54:07 GMT

Going to my first Fantomas concert in a few weeks. Can anyone fill me on what I'm in for?
It's also my first concert where I'll be going on my own! slightly terrifying :p

Sun, 21 Aug 2005 15:34:11 GMT

So I've only been a part of this community for a short while but I was wondering what exactly is acceptable to post about, considering that it doesn't look like Bungle will ever release another album under that name.

Obviously Patton has enough projects going on that have nothing to do with Bungle.

Hmmm, can we compile a list of all the projects that all the members of Bungle have done? That could be usefull.

Firecracker

Sat, 20 Aug 2005 22:24:42 GMT

Roger Ebert gave Firecracker a review of 3.5 stars. Guess I need to see it!

review

Sat, 30 Jul 2005 15:01:47 GMT

I hate to do this again, because I know this isn't a Mike Patton community (although this technically isn't related to Mike Patton), but I saw a commercial for a show called "Dirty Jobs" on the discovery channel, and they played the song "We Care Alot".

Thu, 28 Jul 2005 19:07:50 GMT

Chariot Choogle is a very unpopular Fantomas song and I'm not sure who all has heard it but I uploaded it. Click here to listen to it.

Wed, 27 Jul 2005 05:04:43 GMT

so guess what? i forgot to say this, but about 3 weeks ago, my uncle (john vassilou. you can see his name on the inside of any faith no more booklet where it says career direction by warren entner and john vassilou for WEM) and i drove out to san fransisco and met up with billy gould for lunch on haight street. then the next day we went out to mill valley and visited mike bordin, his wife, and his two daughters. his wife made belgium waffles...yumm...

but yeah, i thought that might make some of you a bit jealous :)

Am I wrong, or does the new Levi's commercial play the version of "Easy" performed by Faith No More?

Review of Firecracker.....and more news...

Mon, 09 May 2005 05:07:49 GMT

(image)

"One thing Balderson perfected was the insinuation of torment. While some scenes are graphic, nothing is such the human mind couldn't make worse. You are left somewhat sympathetic towards Jimmy, to Sandra, perhaps neutral to Eleanor and you will loathe Frank. You will loathe David. They are evil. Pure evil............

Filmed in its entirety in Wamego, Kansas, Firecracker offers a visual interpretation based on true and tragic events surrounding a man named David White. Ipecac Records co-founder and former lead singer of Faith No More, Mike Patton, stars in his debut role as David. Patton was originally cast to play a cameo part in the film and Dennis Hopper was brought on board to play Frank, however a decision was made regarding the performance of the dual roles for Frank and the character of David White. Steve felt that Hopper could not play both roles, as David White was some 20 years younger than the character of Frank. Thus, Mike Patton was extended the invitation for the role. Dennis Hopper ultimately was "let go" from the project in 2002, leaving room for Patton's acting debut. Patton is spectacular and believable, so much so that you actually forget that he is a musician, which is an affirmation that Patton can pretty much touch anything and make it gold. "

Just gets me more excited, too see this. Most definitely will be a treat.

The entire article from ICON Magazine....

The movie is currently in the distribution process for its theatrical release....I believe will be sometime this summer. No actual date has been set, as of yet.

Fantomas at the Agora.......

Sun, 17 Apr 2005 08:29:18 GMT

(image)

I know.... I know..... horrrible picture. I was not that close. I didn't feel like getting gross from all the sweaty idiots, as they are unavoidable. I tried.

Excellent show. Even included an encore. The only thing was that Patton did not have his DJ-70. He was using samples of him playing for certain things. Mainly the older stuff. I would assume that was due to him needing the sampler more so then the keyboard, for the new material. Substitution was do-able, but Page 29, and Twin Peaks sounded mediocre. I guess I am just spoiled.

Should have been on the Ballroom stage, but, who knows. Cleveland is retarded. They like to torture its fans making them suffer in very small confined places. Verses putting a good band on the bigger stage just in the other room.

Cheers!

edited to add the other pics.....
