Volume and price statistics of external merchandise trade in July 2017

In July 2017, the volume of Hong Kong’s total exports and imports of goods increased by 5.7% and 4.0% respectively over a year earlier.  The prices of total exports and imports of goods increased by 1.6% and 1.4% respectively.



Employment and vacancies statistics for June 2017

Total employment in the private sector increased by 0.8% or 23 800 persons in June 2017 compared with a year earlier. The total number of vacancies was 69 590, representing an increase of 2% or 1 390 over the preceding year.



Unemployment and underemployment statistics for June - August 2017

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 3.1% (provisional figure) in June – August 2017, same as that in May – July 2017. Meanwhile, the underemployment rate remained unchanged at 1.1% in the two periods (provisional figure).

The index of industrial production and the producer price index for manufacturing industries as a whole increased by 0.4% and 3.7% respectively in the second quarter of 2017 compared with a year earlier.

Quarterly business receipts indices for service industries for the second quarter of 2017
