I wanted to speak to your comments about blogwars and people who attach too great an importance to the fact that their blogs are getting a high volume of traffic in the comment threads. I have found that very few if any of my Christian friends in the environments where I am involved are interested in the things that are important to me. I can't really talk to them about the things that I want to talk about, but if I want to talk about the latest Third Day CD or what God is showing me in the Purpose-Driven Life (or whatever the latest fad in evangelical pop culture happens to be), I'll have plenty of people to talk with. So I blog. I blog because it gives me a safe place of my own to say the things that I really want to say, and possibly reach someone out there who is looking to hear someone saying what I have to say. This preserves my relationships with the others in my community because I don't have to trouble them with what I am really thinking about things; I can just put it on my blog and they can read it if they want to or not read it if they don't want to.
