Leeds 4 Birmingham 0

Mon, 21 Oct 2013 11:23:04 +0000

Leeds bounced back from recent poor results, with a stunning 4-0 win over Birmingham yesterday.  Leeds started on top, and totally dominated the first half.  Playing in a new 3-5-2 formation, Brian McDermotts men ran riot.

Reading v Leeds

Wed, 18 Sep 2013 17:00:43 +0000

Leeds will be looking to build on Saturday's excellent win at Bolton, as they visit boss Brian McDermott's old team Reading this evening.  With an injury doubt over right back Lee Peltier, there is every chance that we will see Sam Byram back in the squad tonight.  Peltier has done well this season, but a groin strain puts his place in doubt.  Tom Lees filled in well on Saturday when Peltier limped off, but Byram is back in contention after missing the early part of the season with a hip injury.

Leeds beaten by QPR

Mon, 02 Sep 2013 16:24:30 +0000

Leeds slipped to their first defeat of the season against Championship favourites QPR on Saturday.  If I’m honest, it wasn’t a classic, with neither team really peppering the goal.  Looking at their team, QPR should walk this league – by a mile.  A host of quality, and backed with some decent money, they are rightly the bookies choice to go up.

McCormack - not for sale...but do the board agree???

Mon, 19 Aug 2013 16:05:54 +0000

Ross McCormack’s superb individual goal on Saturday rescued a point for Leeds, but also poised many questions.  Whilst the player is clearly desperate to stay, the next week or two could reveal a lot about GFHC and their ambition.

3110 days of Hell!

Wed, 07 Aug 2013 15:40:15 +0000

When Ken Bates finally rode in to the rescue at Leeds United, back on the 21st January 2005, I’ll be first to admit that I was delighted.  Here was an outspoken no-nonsense Chairman that could finally stand up the leeches that had plagued Leeds United since our debts were announced.  A man that wouldn’t be taken for a ride, or allow our club to be taken for a ride and someone who had money, and contacts to get us back on the road to recovery.

Leeds new boys impress in friendly.

Mon, 08 Jul 2013 07:55:43 +0000

Leeds played their first pre season game at Farsley on Saturday, and two of the three new signings bagged a goal.  Leeds played two completely different teams in each half, as boss Brian McDermott gave the majority of his squad a run out.

Pre Season almost here - all quiet on the transfer front

Tue, 25 Jun 2013 16:10:10 +0000

With pre season just a couple of days away, there has been a deathly silence on the transfer front at Elland Road.  With only Matt Smith signed sealed and delivered, the expected influx of new players seems to be a very slow burner at the moment.

Pre season drawing nearer

Mon, 10 Jun 2013 11:20:48 +0000

With the football season barely behind us, Leeds are just 17 days shy of returning to pre season training.  The players are due back on June 27th, with manager Brian McDermott returning a week earlier.

Leeds look to next season

Mon, 13 May 2013 11:02:32 +0000

Leeds are looking at a big overhaul in the off season, with new boss Brian McDermott targetting 7 players to bolster the squad. He has already cut 10 players, including Paddy Kisnorbo, Leigh Bromby and several youngsers - onloan striker Habib Habibou has also been let go as Leeds chose not to take up the option of a transfer following his loan.

Leeds 2 Sheffield Wednesday 1

Mon, 15 Apr 2013 15:27:57 +0000

Two goals from Luke Varney ensured that new boss Brian McDermott made a winning start to his Leeds managerial career, with a vital win against Sheffield Wednesday.

Warnock gone - time for GFHC to show us what they're about

Tue, 02 Apr 2013 09:17:44 +0000

After Leeds parted company with Neil Warnock last night – the search is on for the new manager.  I’ve said before, that Warnock should have gone several weeks ago, and for my money, this decision is too late in the day.  To be clear, this is not a Warnock bashing – he has worked in incredibly difficult circumstances.  He hashad to work with one arm up his back, and been messed around completely by the ongoing ownership debacle.  However – we all knew he was going at the end of the season anyway, and the play offs, in reality (not mathematically) were dead in the water weeks ago.

Leeds takeover Mark 2 rumbles on

Mon, 25 Mar 2013 10:19:35 +0000

What is going on at Leeds?  Honestly.  In all my time, I have never seen such a complete and utter farce from top to bottom at this (once) great club.  We seem to lurch from disaster to disaster and, as a club, are a million miles away from where a club of our size and standing, should be.

Crystal Palace 2 Leeds 2

Mon, 11 Mar 2013 12:49:06 +0000

Leeds put in another good performance, but again, failed to hold on to a much needed 3 points.  There is no doubt that we are playing much, much better, but draws are not a lot of good to us at the moment.

Tough Task for Promotion

Mon, 25 Feb 2013 07:50:09 +0000

Leeds United goalless draw away to Blackburn on Saturday did nothing to help a late push for promotion, leaving the Whites six points outside of the play off places and games running out.

Leeds defeated - time for Warnock to go.

Mon, 18 Feb 2013 12:38:50 +0000

Following yesterday’s defeat at Manchester City, I think that a managerial change has to be the best option for all concerned.  Before I go into the why’s and wherefore’s, let me be clear – I’m not anti Warnock as some are, and think he has had to deal with more than most managers could cope with.  He hasn’t been backed as he would have liked, and, until a few weeks ago, had us in a position where a good run would have taken us to the play offs.  Some of the bile directed in his direction by some has been disgusting, and completely uncalled for.…  So why do I think it’s time for change?  Let me explain…

Leeds - time for GFHC and Warnock to make some decisions

Wed, 13 Feb 2013 09:22:09 +0000

As Leeds slumped to another defeat and Middlesboro last night, it’s clear that something needs to change.  We are, at the moment, a rudderless ship.  The long awaited takeover seems to have posed more questions than answers, and we seem to be stagnating in a sea of mediocracy.

Becchio to Norwich in exchange for close

Wed, 30 Jan 2013 17:40:44 +0000

Lucianno Becchio is believed to be close to securing a move to Premiership Norwich, with their striker coming the other way.

Leeds poised to strike in transfer market

Tue, 29 Jan 2013 16:41:53 +0000

With just over 2 days to go until the transfer window closes, expect plenty of activity at Elland Road.  Boss Neil Warnock is looking at bringing 3 players in, but that number could change depending on the expected sale of Lucciano Becchio.

Leeds 2 Spurs 1

Mon, 28 Jan 2013 09:11:40 +0000

Leeds produced a superb performance to knock Tottenham, out of the FA Cup on Sunday.  Neil Warnock's men were in fantastic form to beat the side sitting 4th in The Premiership with their best performance of the season.

Leeds target Gradel?

Thu, 24 Jan 2013 09:03:39 +0000

Leeds are rumoured to be targetting former player Max Gradel according to the Evening Post.  The winger, currently playing for St Ettienne in France is a firm fans favourite, and would be a major signing for the club.
