Advance Tuition Deposit deadline May 3

The deadline for refunds of the Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD) has been moved to midnight Pacific Standard Time (PST) May 3rd. Our campus is going through a scheduled system reboot which happens to be occurring over the weekend of May 1st. Anyone requesting a refund of their paid ATD must do so prior to May 3rd.

The OSU Office of Admissions is reporting an overall increase in applications for the Fall 2009 term. The office received almost 1600 applications over the deadline weekend (Feb 1), over 300 more than last year at this time.

Oregon State planned two events this fall to give students a good taste of the OSU experience. Preview OSU was held Friday, Oct. 10 to an almost full La Sells Stewart Center. Beaver Open House, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, is an all-day program that provides an in-depth look at OSU. Visit to register for Beaver Open House.

OSU Requires Online Applications for All Undergraduates

Beginning September 1, 2008, OSU will require all undergraduate applicants to use the Online Application for Admission. If prospective students do not have a credit/debit card or qualify for an OUS fee deferral, they may contact the Admissions office at 800-291-4192.

The admissions office is proceeding with the third phase in moving to a more paperless operation. This involves using scanning equipment along with indexing software that integrates documents with our student information system (SCT Banner). The bottom line will be cost savings and quicker turnaround times on processing applications.

Thanks to a handful of IT, admissions, and business office folks, students can now pay their ATD online with electronic checks. This makes the process quicker and saves the student (or most likely the student's parents) any additional charges to their credit card.

New freshman class looks good in size, quality, diversity

OSU's fall 2005 enrollment report shows an increase in number of freshman, an average 3.53 high school GPA, and greater diversity, including a 10.8 percent increase in African Americans, 19.8 percent increase in Hispanic Americans, and 11.8 percent increase in international students.
