Bills reverse course in having Taylor start against Chiefs. Rather than risk another meltdown with the Bills still in the midst of the playoff race, coach Sean McDermott had little choice but to reverse course at quarterback. Oakland Raiders (DEF-OAK)

11/22/2017 4:02 PM

Raiders hope change in D coordinators provides needed spark. Oakland Raiders coach Jack Del Rio had seen enough. Little has gone right so far on defense this season for the Raiders (4-6), who rank last in the league in takeaways (six) and are tied for last in sacks (14) and second-to-last in third down defense (46 percent). Oakland is the first team in modern NFL history to fail to intercept a pass in the first 10 games and has allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete 72.3 percent of their passes for a 113.3 passer rating, both of which would rank as the second-worst of all-time. Denard Span (OF-SF)

11/22/2017 4:01 PM

As a leadoff batter, Denard Span knows that reaching base ranks among his top priorities. He can dictate a game's tone by establishing his team's offensive rhythm. Span, the Giants outfielder, intends to create similar empowerment through his charitable efforts. And in American society, few possessions are more empowering than a car.. Trevor Story (SS-COL)

11/22/2017 4:01 PM

Shortstop Trevor Story and right-handed pitcher Chad Bettis would rather it have been the Rockies, but a part of them felt good that the Astros won the World Series. Neither Texan grew up in Houston, but Story and Bettis were touched by the suffering they saw in their home state when Hurricane Harvey hit.. 11/22/2017 4:00 PM

For much of September, Jharel Cotton's thoughts drifted home.
