This is amazing!! You've given me hope that I might be able to do this. I'm totally rubbish at baking but like you have always made the kids cakes so this year when my youngest asked for a penguin, I quickly took to Google and thank goodness your site came up!! Will be attempting in 2 weeks time... watch this space!!

Comment on A quick custom plugin to import redirections into Safe Redirect Manager by Josh Winn

Thu, 22 Oct 2015 03:05:56 +0000

This is awesome! Saved me a ton of manual labor. Because of my server situation, I was unable to just add my 1000+ redirects to an .htaccess file. This worked perfectly. I'd recommend doing in batches, as I got a 502 error after about 600 had processed. The pull request you made is part of the plugin now. Looks like an importer is coming at some point. Right now, there's a built in way to do it, but only with Wordpress-CLI: https://github.com/tlovett1/Safe-Redirect-Manager/issues/97 There's also a maximum limit on the redirects, which was set for "performance" reasons, but can be adjusted with a filter. Your plugin ignores the limit, but the message will be visible in the admin area. Filter code: https://twitter.com/tlovett12/status/562623027092160513

Hi Simon. Many thanks for you write up. I wished I found it sooner :) It took me approx 30 minutes to get the darn thing off! For those replacing this obsolete unit / model check I came across this: http://www.safelincs.co.uk/blog/2012/06/11/replacement-of-old-kidde-smoke-alarms/ I can't verify that the info here is accurate but looks solid enough

Hi Simon, Thanks for these instructions. Managed to the battery out of the alarm without any problems. Speaking to Kidde Safe in the UK the unit is obsolete and you need a new bass plate for a new alarm. Thanks Again.

Comment on Excluding one category from the main WordPress feed by Redesigning My Blog | Steve's Seaside Life

[…] I use the Memento app on my iPhone as my diary, it integrates tweets, Instagram photo’s and blog posts, and Moves location data into a really nice diary interface, with excellent search.  Clearly I needed my diary entries to be integrated too, so I needed an RSS feed for just the diary category.  To do this I used a code snippet that I added to the sites Functions.PHP file, as described in this post. Which config file would one edit to make OS X broadcast as a different machine? i.e. a Mac Mini to be seen a "Rack Mac" by other Macs on the network? I can't find info on that anywhere! Many thanks in advance for anyone who knows!

Comment on Removing files called X and containing Y in Bash by Johnathon

You can use -exec with find, so you don't need to pipe into the first xargs; find "$PATH" -name example.html -exec grep -lIZ "Genericons" {} \; | xargs -0 rm -fv -- Not tested it, or spent much time, but should work :)
