Dominican Today, 10 Aug 2012 - SANTO DOMINGO. - The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) incinerated around seven tons of various types of drugs Friday, especially cocaine and marijuana. The DNCD said 5, 211 kilos of cocaine, 472.5 kilos and 449 marijuana plants, 20.5 kilos of heroin, 107 grams of crack and 267 kilos of cocaine were incinerated, in addition to thousands of pills with the characteristics of ecstasy.

Dominican Today, 03 Aug 2012 - Santo Domingo.- U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) director Michele Leonhart arrived in the country Thursday afternoon, invited by law enforcement agencies, and immediately met with senior military, Police and antinarcotics officers, to review the work and the accomplishments in the interdiction of drug shipments. Leonhart, who'll be honored at the National Palace by president Leonel Fernandez today, arrived at the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) headquarters at 7pm and met with Armed Forces minister Joaquin Virgilio Feliz, DNCD president Rolando Rosado and the Police chief Jose Polanco, among other senior officers.

Dominican Today, 11 Jan 2009 - Santo Domingo.- The National Drug Control Department says it has jailed 276 people in separate operations and raids across the country, including the capital, the provinces of Santo Domingo, San Cristobal and Santiago, confiscating cocaine, marijuana, crack, firearms, motorbikes and cash. DNCD chief Major General Gilberto Delgado Valdez said that the detained would be sent to justice.
