After last week's programmes on the withdrawal of funding for Versatis pain relief patches, huge numbers of people rang in again to tell Joe how important this medication is to them. A number of doctors also gave differing views on the decision to take Versatis off the Medical Card and Drugs Payment Schemes.

Hospital Trolleys

Liam Gallagher talked about how his late father was left on a trolley for 3 days awaiting an ultrasound in the emergency department of University Hospital Waterford. Liam says that his father's final days should have been spent receiving palliative care and not on a trolley in a busy emergency department.

Acts of Kindness

Jackie Hayden's 18 year old son Evan has severe autism. He visits Dublin airport regularly because he finds it calming. When they visited the airport just before Xmas, on Evan's birthday, staff there had a surprise in store. Also, Marie and her family were stranded in Cavan in the early hours of New Years day when her car ran out of petrol.

Matt and Michael getting Married

Last week, the long-time friends revealed their plans to marry in order to avoid inheritance tax. In a longer chat today, the men talked more about their friendship and how Matt was once a victim of a conman carer.
