le ‘futur’ du web à la lecture des recommandations du W3C

Une présentation de Fabien Gandon

Archive of W3C News in 2008

2008-10-15: The Semantic Web Deployment Working Group and the XHTML2 Working Group published the W3C Recommendation RDFa in XHTML: Syntax and Processing. This specification allows publishers to express structured data on the Web within XHTML. This allows tools to read it, enabling a new world of user functionality, allowing users to transfer structured data between applications and web sites, and allowing browsing applications to improve the user experience. For those looking for an introduction to the use of RDFa and some real-world examples, please consult the updated RDFa Primer. Learn more about the Semantic Web Activity and the HTML Activity.

Qi4j: REST EntityStore and SPARQL EntityFinder = rich client web apps!

For the finder part I have implemented a SPARQL backend, which internally delegates to Sesame2, which is the same default index/query that is used to find Entities in general. This in itself is pretty cool, because it means that you can write your domain model in Java, have it be automatically persisted in a store like Neo4j, and then with no extra effort expose it through SPARQL for AJAX webapps to consume (both RDF/XML and JSON output is supported today). Minimally writing a domain model only involves writing Java interfaces (no classes), so it's pretty easy to get started.

Proceedings of Extreme Markup Languages®

This paper presents an initiative to use RDF in actual projects - as opposed to mere demonstration efforts. The immediate background was the modeling of a large and rather amorphous enterprise architecture (EA).
