The Final GOP Tax-Reform Bill

Tue, 19 Dec 2017 16:22:00 +0000

The Plan's breakdown:
  • Individual income-tax rates have been cut significantly. The seven tax brackets remain, but the percentages have been dropped in almost every one. The new rates are 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% and 37% compared to today’s 10%, 15%, 25%, 28%, 33%, 35% and 39.6%.
  • The corporate tax rate has been changed to 21% from the current 35%.
  • The $4,050 personal exemptions have been eliminated.
  • The standard deduction has been doubled from $6,350 currently to $12,000 for single filers and from $12,700 to $24,000 for married couples.
  • Child tax credit has been increased to $2,000, but $1,400 is refundable and starts phasing out at $400,000 in income for married couples and $200,000 for non-married households. Currently, it’s $1,000 and starts to phase out for married couples with an income of  $110,000.
  • State and local taxes have been capped at $10,000, that can be deducted. Currently, these taxes are deductible with some limits.
  • Mortgage-interest deduction limits have been increased from the current $750,000 to up to $1 million for both primary and second homes.
  • The alternative minimum tax is preserved, but also makes it more narrow. This disallows high-earning households from filing personal exemptions and state deductions.
  • There will no longer be a penalty for not having health insurance.
  • Alimony payment agreements signed after 2018 will not be deductible.
  • Estate taxes will be 40% on estates over $11.2 million per individual, versus the current $5.6 million.
  • Business owners with an income under $315,000 will get a 20% deduction for pass-through income, versus currently, where a business taxes are based on the individual's income tax rate.
  • There have been no changes in regards to the student-loan interest, graduate student tuition waivers, and capital gains and dividends.

Most Americans will see tax breaks and the GOP compromised by including current deductions that weren't included in the previous versions. As President Trump points out, the huge ( pronounced "YUGE" ) drop in the corporate income tax in this plan will encourage businesses to incorporate and come to the U.S.

H/T: Punching Bag Post

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 07:12:00 +0000

The Senate is expected to vote NEXT WEEK on the first major tax cuts bill in over 30 years

#1 -- Lowers tax rates for hard-working Americans.

#2 -- Nearly doubles the standard deduction for individuals and married couples.

#3 -- Eliminates the "marriage penalty" that causes married couples to pay more in taxes than unmarried.

#4 -- Doubles the child tax credit to $2,000 per child.

#5 -- Preserves the adoption tax credit and allows parents to save for education of children during pregnancy.

#6 -- Repeals the punitive alternative minimum tax.

#7 -- Greatly reduces the Death Tax.

#8 -- Lowers the corporate tax rate to 20%, making America competitive with the world again.

#9 -- Reduces the tax burden on America's small businesses by reducing taxes on "pass through"' income and allowing more deductions for business expenses.

#10 -- Fixes punitive double taxation on overseas income to bring investment capital back to America.

(and one bonus....)

#11 -- Eliminates the ObamaCare Mandate tax that hits lower to middle income families the most.

The average family of four will save over $1,000 in taxes in the first year of implementation, and businesses will be set free to grow.

Michigan Rep. John Conyers Democrat on House Judiciary Committee Allegedly Made Sexual Advances Toward Female Staff

Tue, 21 Nov 2017 14:53:00 +0000

Michigan Rep. John Conyers, a Democrat and the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives, settled a wrongful dismissal complaint in 2015 with a former employee who alleged she was fired because she would not “succumb to [his] sexual advances.”Documents obtained by BuzzFeed News include four signed affidavits, three of which are notarized, from former staff members who allege that Conyers, repeatedly made sexual advances to female staff that included requests for sexual favors, contacting and transporting other women with whom they believed Conyers was having affairs, caressing their hands sexually, and rubbing their legs and backs in public. The woman settled with Conyers in 2014 alleging that she was fired for refusing his sexual advances and ended up facing a daunting process that ended with a confidentiality agreement in exchange for a settlement of more than $27,000.Affidavit Sadly, John Conyers isn’t the only politician who’s using taxpayer funds to settle sex abuse claims. Congress has spent $17 million of taxpayer money since 1997 to settle 264 harassment claims filed against lawmakers. After paying off victims, Congress protects the identity of the abusers, even though they’re public servants whose salaries are paid by taxpayers. allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" class="twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered" data-tweet-id="932823616953208832" frameborder="0" id="twitter-widget-0" scrolling="no" style="border-image: none; border: medium; display: block; height: 607.48px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; max-width: 100%; min-width: 220px; padding: 0px; position: static; visibility: visible; width: 550px;" title="Twitter Tweet">p. 1 AFFIDAVIT IN SUPPORT having personal knowledge of the events as stated below, and if sworn asa witness can testify competently; do hereby state the following. under oath and based upon myinformation, knowledge, and belief as it was available to me at the time of the execution of thisdocumentwas ?rst employed ?for Rep. Alejandro Villanueva Most Popular NFL Player Right Now

Tue, 26 Sep 2017 13:24:00 +0000

Former Army Ranger and current Steelers left tackle Alejandro Villanueva served three tours in Afghanistan to preserve the right of others to protest. Villanueva is the only Steeler who stood for the National Anthem in Sunday's game.

He has certainly earned the right to express his own opinion on this subject.

Regarding Colin Kaepernick, Villanueva previously said,

"I don’t know if the most effective way is to sit down during the national anthem with a country that’s providing you freedom, providing you $16 million a year … when there are black minorities that are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan for less than $20,000 a year."

Alejandro Villanueva's jersey sales have suddenly surpassed team jerseys with names like “Brady” or “Rodgers” on them, to become the hottest selling NFL merchandise on the market.

Alejandro Villanueva is currently the most popular player in the NFL.

The NFL should be getting a clear message from Americans from all walks of life that we will not support those who disrespect our country and our flag during the games. We are the consumers of the product, without us their revenues will fall, if we choose to listen to political opinion we can turn to any network TV news station. We should not have to view the total disrespect of our country and pay good money to do it.

Artist Unveils Amazing Painting of Trump and Those Who Elected Him

Mon, 28 Aug 2017 18:26:00 +0000

width="500" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

Titled ”You Are Not Forgotten,” McNaughton’s painting features Trump — his foot on a snake — standing over a young family nursing a small plant growing out of the cracked ground. Trump is flanked by police officers, military personnel, miners and others with the White House in the background.

He wanted to recognize those people who he felt had been marginalized previously who Trump is now recognizing.
The description of the painting on McNaughton’s website discusses neglected veterans, marginalized police officers and suffering families, and praises Trump.

”I want a president that will crush the enemies of liberty, justice, and American prosperity,” the description reads. ”They may have the power to bruise his heal (sic), but he will have the power to crush their head!”

The picture shows Trump crushing the head of a snake under his heal.
The focus of the picture is ‘the Forgotten Man’ in the center who is seeking to encourage a sprout to grow from the earth.
That man is a focus of other McNaughton paintings.

McNaughton’s ‘Forgotten Man’ theme coincides with Trump who touts a similar theme, that he is working in the White House for the forgotten Americans. Sarah Huckabee Sanders periodically reads letters during White House briefings from Americans to touch this sentiment.

Gamblers Betting Trump Will Be Re-Elected in 2020

Tue, 22 Aug 2017 17:54:00 +0000

The gambling site is betting on a fairly easy re-election bid for President Trump in 2020 against rising Democrats including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and former first lady Michelle Obama.

Trump's odds are 5 to 2, the best of over a dozen potential candidates.

Bettors are also hedging their bet, picking Vice President Mike Pence as their second favorite in the 2020 presidential race.

"Trump is currently a 5/2 favorite to win. Mike Pence (6/1) and Elizabeth Warren (10/1) are close behind with Michelle Obama and Bernie Sanders both sitting at 16/1 odds to win. [Sen.] Kamala Harris and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg are now listed at 20/1. [House Speaker] Paul Ryan is 28/1."

"Will the 25th Amendment Section 4 be invoked? With odds at 5/14, bettors are backing 'no impeachment' during Trump's first term. The odds at 1/8 strongly favor him sitting in the oval office on January 1, 2018. "

What's more, they aren't betting for Trump to lose his Twitter account either. Sorry Twitterholics. It's a 5/1 longshot that Twitter will suspend the @realDonaldTrump account.

The 2020 odds are listed below:

Donald Trump 5/2
Michelle Obama 16/1
Sen. Elizabeth Warren 10/1
Mike Pence 6/1
Hillary Clinton 33/1
Sen. Cory Booker 20/1

Republicans Voters More Aligned With Trump Than GOP Congress

Thu, 27 Jul 2017 05:45:00 +0000

Over six months into the Trump presidency, most Republican voters still say they relate more to the president’s political views than those of the GOP representatives in Congress.

A recent Rasmussen Reports Poll finds that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters say that their views are closest to Republicans in Washington, including 33% who are more aligned with Trump and just 12% who relate more to the average Republican in Congress.

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on July 20 & 23, 2017 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
