New photo: Carn Galva in the Snow

I've photographed the engine house at Carn Galva quite a lot. In all weathers, at night, inside and out. However, this is the first time I've had the opportunity to get a shot of it in the snow.

New photo: Penzance Promenade Snow Scene

The Snow it Snoweth...

As the 'Beast from the East' set in on March 1st Penzance saw the heaviest snowfall in years. Any snow is pretty rare in Cornwall but this was proper snow along with biting easterly winds.

New photo: Snow up Morvah way

I took this photo after cycling up to the top of the moors beyond Madron. It was actually blue skies but the wind was whipping up the snow in these little mini-blizzards. This was the first day of the very un-Cornish weather that was brought to us by the "Beast from the East".

New photo: Chapel Street, Penzance in the Snow

Looking down Chapel Street in Penzance This is easily the most attractive (and historic) street in Penzance but in the twilight with a heavy sprinkling of snow it becomes like something out of a Dickens novel.

New photo: Wheal Kitty, St Agnes

Tin was mined here well into the 20th century until the mine closed in 1930. Unlike most Cornish engine houses Wheal Kitty was bought by the Council and developed into a small business park, housing amongst others "Surfers Against Sewage" and "The Canteen".

New photo: Storm Ophelia - Penzance

Less than dramatic scenes along Penzance Promenade as the much heralded storm Ophelia passed the south west.

Ophelia was never predicted to really lash the west country and there were probably more dramatic scenes up and down the coast.

New photo: End of a Perfect Day

Evening at Polzeath Beach

New photo: St Ives Harbour from the Malakoff

The well known view over St Ives Harbour from the Malakoff bus station. This is a view I have photographed on a number of occasions, usually with one of my expensive SLR cameras at the crack of dawn.

New photo: Poldark Eggs

Not just any eggs, these are "Poldark Eggs". Presumably laid by chickens that are descended from the very chickens that once clucked around Ross Poldark's Nampara farmhouse...

...or not.

New photo: "The Broccoli Juggler" - Penlee Park

"The Broccoli Juggler" by celebrated West Cornwall artist Kurt Jackson is a permanent fixture in Penlee Park where it is situated next to Penlee House Museum.
