Mon, 15 May 2006 21:15:59 +0000

Well, I've moved this blog yet again… hopefully this will be the last move. I moved this blog over from Blogspot, since I liked the features of WordPress better. Recently, I finally got around to setting up my own web server, so have moved this WordPress blog to my server. The new URL is: […]

iPod Updater 2006-03-23humphreysiPod Volume Limit

Thu, 30 Mar 2006 16:38:47 +0000

Apple has released a new updater for the iPod. I was a little leery of this updater since the 1.1 firmware on the 60 Gb video iPod prevented the play of more than 30s of converted videos… in a previous blog entry, I outlined the process for downgrading the firmware to 1.0. The new firmware […]

Well, I've moved this blog over to WordPress, because I'm impressed with some of it's features. Importing from Blogspot was a breeze… a few clicks, and it was done automatically for me. Can't get any better than that! 🙂

There's another audio recorder coming for the video iPod from Belkin called "TuneTalk Stereo"; this one looks pretty nice as it has two directional microphones and a built-in speaker for instant playback. More information is available here.

One of the current limitations with the new video iPods is that you can't record audio to them directly (there are adapters for some of the other iPods). Here's information on the MicroMemo by XtremeMac that will rectify this limitation.

BlackBoard and PodCastshumphreys

Tue, 28 Feb 2006 14:39:00 +0000

Since Seneca’s course management system is BlackBoard, it would be nice if we can do PodCasts through that system, and keep everything seamless. I came across a company called Tegrity that offers a solution that integrates with BlackBoard, and includes a BlackBoard Building Block. Here’s a press release from earlier this year: . I’ll […]

I came across this site looking for ways to have a PodCast hosted, and have an RSS feed automatically created, all in one package. Elgg is an open-source learning landscape platform. It has the ability to blog, as well as to store files in your own repository (where you can set permissions as to whether […]
