Hi Randy, There are two possible recorder "add-ons" that I've come across... the XtremeMac Micromemo, and the Belkin TuneTalk Sterero. That said, both are pretty new (I'm not sure if both are available yet; I came across the pre-release information on both devices)... and I have yet to get my hands on either for testing. This lack of a recorder is a serious limitation of the new video iPods (at least for those of us exploring their use in education) . I know someone who has one of the earlier 30 Gb video iPods, and it has the extra outlet beside the headphone outlet for a microphone / recorder... why Apple chose to remove it puzzles me. Not related to iPods, but worth a look possibly... we have a faculty member who's been using a Sony ICD-P210 IC Recorder for recording his lectures, and it seems to be working well. It records to a proprietary format (DVF), but there is a plug-in available for Windows Media Player: ( You can also convert to other formats, such as MP3, which could then be used with the iPod. Hope that helps! Regards, ..James..

James, I just stumbled across your kind comments on my site, Thanks for the encouragement, and the compliments. Also, thanks so much for highlighting micromemo for the iPod video. I had just given up hope of using the video iPod for voice recording. I am planning on developing supporting and instructional materials to be delivered by video iPod in one of our degree programs. However, when I discovered I couldn't do voice recording on the video iPod, I was ready to give up the idea. Now I'll have to take a second look. Do you know if there are any other voice recording "things" that will work on the video iPod? Thanks again for you help.
