Interview with Joshua Falzone – Episode #146

Sun, 22 Jul 2012 18:16:30 +0000

It’s again that time were we do our annual what you can do to help elect pro-government candidates this election season.

So in this episode I have an interview with Indiana NRA Candidate Field Representative Joshua Falzone. Josh was mainly working in two districts in the state of Indiana and they are at opposite ends of the state. The travel time between the southern district and the northern district that he is working in is about five hours. So you can imagine he spending a lot of time in his car. But we’re very happy that he was able to take some time this Sunday ( July 22, 2012) two talk to us about how you could not only help Indiana if you live here. But also how you can get in contact with the right people in your state so that you could volunteer to help elect pro-Second Amendment candidates in your state.

One very good place to start to find out who you need to talk to about volunteering with the NRA is to go over to the NRA–ILA website and look up who is your election volunteer coordinator in your district. Make sure you give them a call or e-mail them to schedule some time when it’s convenient for you to volunteer.

I’m All IN, Are you?

Indiana Dick Lugar out after 35 Years – Episode #145

Sun, 13 May 2012 11:12:54 +0000

After 35 years in the U.S. Senate Dick Lugar has been defeated by the good freedom loving citizens of Indiana.  On May 8, 2012 the anti-gun movement in the Senate has been sent a major blow by having one of their long time RINO Republican senators losing his primary against an “A” rated and NRA backed candidate. Toppling over such a long time  politician doesn’t happen very often.  After working for the last 20 years to do what happened on May 8 I always wondered whether it would ever happen.  I’d always thought that he’d probably leave office either by choice or by death.  Never thought he’d stick around so long that he’d finally be defeated. This means now we have a much better chance of passing good legislation and keeping out the unwanted compromise that a RINO  like Dick Lugar would always do.  I’d much rather see legislation not passed then have to compromise our freedoms and values. Hope you enjoy this episode but please also take a look at all the links below you will find some very good articles and discussions about the loss of Dick Lugar in the United States Senate Links: My new / old LOG at BLOG.GunRights.US Here is a link to my Personal Audio Blog at Vanderberg.org NRA-PVF Defeat Lugar Good Riddance to Anti-gun Richard Lugar Statement from Chris W. Starbucks Buycott – Episode #143

Sat, 18 Feb 2012 23:22:37 +0000

Wow, it’s been since September 2011 since I released an episode of this podcast. Well I’ve been very busy with GRRN and normally talk about a lot of gun rights advocacy topics on the LIVE Bar Stool Discussion on a biweekly basis. So sometimes it gives me very little talk about here. Not this week because the Valentine’s Day buycott of Starbucks has given me reason to do a new episode. So listen to the show and please send in your audio feedback. I’d like to use your feedback in the next episode so that we can have a debate. Interview with Guy Relford – Episode #141

Sun, 18 Sep 2011 17:49:04 +0000

This episode of the Gun Rights Advocates Podcast we have two interviews. The first is with John Richardson from the blog “NO LAWYERS – ONLY GUNS AND MONEY”. We talk about the upcoming Gun Rights Policy Conference which starts September 23, 2011.

Second interview is with Guy Relford an Indiana attorney, we talk about the changes made to Indiana’s preemption law and about the lawsuit that he has filed in Hammond Indiana and a lawsuit that he has filed against the city of Evansville on behalf of a client.

If it wasn’t for the Gun Rights Policy Conference on September 24 I would instead be going to Guy Relford’s Comprehensive Indiana Gun Law class (NWI) taking place at Cabela’s Hammond, Indiana 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Listen to the interview and you’ll find out that he will be teaching you everything you need to know about Indiana firearm laws. There still time to register at Tactical Firearms Training, LLC.

GRRN is giving away a Sig Sauer SP2022 9mm and you can get a free entry into the drawing if you are attending the Gun Rights Policy Conference in Chicago next weekend and you find me and ask for the entry.

Second Thoughts On Gun Amnesty Programs – Episode #135

Tue, 18 Jan 2011 14:35:35 +0000

As many of you long-time listeners to this podcast know this has been at one time a biweekly podcast, but due to my responsibilities at the Gun Rights Radio Network it is turned into less than reliable. So this being the first episode of 2011 and if you are taking a look at the website you will notice that we have changed the theme and that has more to do with updating some database problems on the back and than it does with the front end. So I just thought why not give the front and a facelift also.

Things I will discuss in the show:

Please visit the Gun Rights Radio Network and we would also like you to join us on our discussion forum.

You have until January 31, 2011 to get entered into the drawing to win a Winchester 94 30-30 from 1971 with its original box.

Discussion Forums – Episode #134

Fri, 10 Dec 2010 17:29:49 +0000

Everyday life and GRRN has been keeping me busy so this happens to be the first podcast I have done since October 1. I talked about the upgrades that were done to GRRN forum and why I did them. Also discussed discussion forums in general and why I would prefer no anti-NRA rhetoric posted.

Now because it’s been a while since I’ve done a podcast you’ll probably notice that I am just rambling all over the place. To do a podcast properly you really need to prepare your thoughts I had a time and it helps if you take some notes. Staying in practice is also a really good thing. So all things I just said I had done none of them. Hopefully you still get something interesting out of the podcast even with all my bouncing around.

2010 Chicago Freedom Rally – Episode #132

Sat, 10 Jul 2010 04:03:24 +0000

NOTE: Only place you can find the complete audio of 2010 Chicago Second Amendment Freedom Rally The Second Amendment Freedom Rally 2010 was again in downtown Chicago right across from Mayor Daley’s office. Again this year Mayor Daley chose not to be in his office the day of the rally, but we are sure that his staff heard us loud and clear. I spent quite a bit of time to bring you the audio from the rally and some money and I would appreciate your comments about the coverage. So please leave me comments here or send me a direct e-mail from the contact page. I would very much appreciate it. Thank you to my friend Bill Stanczyk for again driving all away to Chicago with me to attend the rally. It definitely helped me from being bored on the two-hour drive each way. NRA Disclose Act – Episode #131

Wed, 30 Jun 2010 16:06:53 +0000

In this episode of the gun rights advocates podcast you will hear my thoughts on the Disclose Act and why I feel the NRA did nothing wrong.

Also we will discuss the new law that takes effect July 1 in Indiana allowing employees to bring their firearms work and keep them in their locked vehicle.

And of course we will discuss the ruling by the Supreme Court on McDonald v. the city of Chicago.

SAFR – Episode #122

Sat, 11 Jul 2009 12:59:45 +0000

Please accept my apologies for such a long delay for this episode to come out. I have been having some technical problems with the computer I use to record and edit my podcast and just before I went back to work after being laid off I had some plumbing problems around the house that kept me from getting the episode helped.

This is though the second attempt at recording this episode. The first I felt I was a little too angry in the episode to release it. Some of things I was reading about the woman who left her gun in her purse and then tried to enter the courthouse just really irritated me and I decided not to release the angry episode.

Official NRA Podcast Available – Episode #117

Fri, 15 May 2009 13:10:11 +0000

The National Rifle Association has finally decided to podcast Cam Edwards NRA News. This is something that I have been asking them to do for many years and I know a lot of you also have been requesting it.

I still have the website domain http://nrapodcast.com that I will probably use to help explain to new listeners how to subscribe to their podcast.

Over last couple of days I have listened to about 9 hours of the NRA podcast and I’m enjoying it quite a bit, because now I do not have to stay up till midnight to hear the entire show. Hopefully all of you will find enough value in listening to the Gun Rights Radio Network and NRA’s new podcast and keep contributing to both.

Denied Rights – Episode #108

Sat, 10 Jan 2009 14:57:00 +0000

To Whom It May Concern: CAN SOMEONE, PLEASE HELP ME? This is a big issue to me and I need help fixing it ASAP, it has been way too long already. I have been trying to get it fixed for about a dozen years, to no avail. I have written & called numerous people & agencies. I have contacted several of you before & I am continuously given NO ANSWERS, given steps to resolves this, that leads to dead ends. I have spent many hours & several dollars doing every step that I have been advised to follow. Nothing! I have gotten nowhere. I am being denied my 2nd Amendment rights! I have always been an avid shooter since childhood. At the age of 18, I joined the U.S. Army and was in charge of many weapons including various assault rifles, light machineguns, grenade launchers, anti-tank weapons & several other weapons during my almost 6-year tenure. I even achieved an expert marksmanship badge. I had a security clearance while I was in the military. I currently receive jury notices & I have voted in major elections over the years. I am a fully disabled person of average stature that lives by myself in a neighborhood that is becoming increasingly worse (about  a mile from the county jail). I would be a fairly easy target for criminals. I would like to purchase a firearm for personal defense in my home, but I am denied by NICS. When I was 16 years old; I was arrested in possession of what I called a firework, but it was deemed by the authorities; a destructive device. I was held in the juvenile hall for around 10 days. I went to court and was released to my uncles care and given probation until the age of 18. I NEVER violated the terms of my probations and was released from probation when I became 18. During the process of enlisting in the Army back in 1995/1996, I had to go down to the L.A. County Juvenile facility with the recruiter to have my record expunged, I was told that I would not be able to obtain a security clearance without first doing that. That was the last I had heard of the issue for several years. In 1999, I was had a NICS check performed while attempting to purchase a firearm in Fayetteville, NC. I went through the appeal process that I was given by the vendor in a pamphlet; I had to submit a fingerprint card that I had to get completed at the military police station. I had to send in a processing fee to the FBI. After several letters and phone calls to the FBI; I was given a response that had told me that I needed to contact the originating department (L.A. County Juvenile Court). I did so immediately and NOTHING came of it, I did not even receive a response after sending 2 letters (checking the address after the first one to make sure I had sent the first letter to the correct ad[...]

The Day After – Episode #103

Wed, 05 Nov 2008 14:40:05 +0000

The outcome of this election was not a mandate to take away your second amendment rights. There were a lot of issues other than gun rights that moved the country towards Obama.

We have the opportunity now to increase our memberships in gun rights organizations that will work on our behalf to protect our second amendment rights under this new administration. Please don’t be discouraged all is not lost.

Obama Wins, What Next! – Episode #102

Sat, 18 Oct 2008 11:28:45 +0000

[ad#250x250-square]

Not for anyone to give up hope yet. What happens if Obama wins the presidency? It is a real possibility in this political climate that someone so extremely left of center could win by a large margin.

I think it’s time to start discussing the reality of this and to make plans to combat the anti-rights movement before they get started.

I personally believe that Obama could be much worse than President Clinton ever was. He will have control over two branches of government with majorities that could easily push through far left leaning judges that would allow them control of the third branch quite easily. This is something that President Clinton did not have.

Do you think that the Obama administration would start right off trying to restrict rights? Or do you believe that they will lay low for a while and strike when it’s more convenient for them?

What do you think the first anti-gun law will be passed under a Obama administration?

  • Scary gun ban
  • One gun a month
  • Magazine Ban
  • Limiting license to carry
  • Restricting manufacturing
  • Eliminating black rifles

or am I missing something, maybe something else we haven’t thought of yet.

Let me know what you think.

Welcome Home George – Episode #096

Sun, 10 Aug 2008 13:08:07 +0000

The last 15 months George a listener of the podcast has been serving our country in Iraq and is now back home safely. I would just like to thank George for his service to our country from all of us and I'm sure the sacrifices his family had to make while he was gone. I recently came across a podcast that does reviews of other podcasts. I thought what an excellent idea someplace where you can kind of get some feedback and maybe some new podcasts you'd like to listen to. And then I found out that they actually did a review of this podcast. They mixed up myself and Matt Caron but that was all right I understood who they were talking about. If you would like to listen to their review of the podcast or any other reviews they may have. I will provide the link below. In there or show 37 about 15 minutes  30 seconds in is the review of this podcast. Please contact them and let them know what you think. Call to Action: Help Needed in Mishawaka, IN – Episode #095

Fri, 01 Aug 2008 20:12:23 +0000

The following letter was written by Jim and Margie 2nd Amendment Patriots STAY UNITED www.2ndamendmentpatriots.org ----------- This letter is for everyone who's had it up to their eyebrows of being treated like third world gangsters because they are upstanding citizens with a handgun license. I just got two calls from Indiana State Rep. Jackie Walorski about the city council of Mishawaka, Indiana preparing to implement a gun ban from city buildings.  They're using the South Bend attempted ordinance. Mishawaka Mayor Jeff Rea, (phone 574-258-1601) just told Jackie that if opponents want a fight, a fight they'll get.  Well Mayor Rea I will do all I can to accommodate you.  CALL HIM TODAY, TOMORROW, AND THE NEXT DAY. He's a Republican mayor who has teamed up with the Democrat council to rub this in our nose. He said he's tired of people trying to tell him how to run "his" city. Well Mayor Rea, I'll bet you never turn down any federal or state funds that comes with strings that will make you dance like a marionette.  How about it Mayor Rea, do you tell the feds and state money people you don't want someone telling you how to run your city? His claim is that they had a couple of people with a handgun license come into the city office building and made some remarks that they had a gun.  Supposedly, they've intimated some of the workers there. Well, instead of dealing with those idiots the mayor and city council displaying their equal level of idiocy are going to clamp down on the honest law abiding citizens. Kind of like the teacher who punishes the whole class for the one disruptive student.  I guess in Mishawaka if someone runs a red light in town everyone who has a drivers license gets a ticket, too.  The second call to make is to the city attorney Cory Hemmil, (574-258-1702).  He's behind this hot and heavy, too. This coming Monday will be the second reading of this governmental attack on the Constitution in Mishawaka. I'm hoping that since the story by Jeff Knox in ShotGun News about what South Bend tried and is now national news because of that publications circulation we can put Mishawaka on the map. I want the name Mishawaka, Indiana to be on the same roll call as Chicago, D.C. San Francisco, New York and all the rest of the cities that don't recognize the Constitution. Since th[...]

Update: NRA-ILA Grassroots Director – Episode #086

Fri, 30 May 2008 20:30:16 +0000

There are plenty of opportunities out there to get involved in the political process.  Helping to protect your rights under the Second Amendment is probably one of the most important political process you can get involved in. The interview that I conducted with Glen Caroline, Director, NRA-ILA Grassroots Division for this episode will help you find the ways you can get involved in this year's presidential and congressional elections. It is very important but if you have considered being politically active in the past that you do so this year. Most of this political activity is not very glamorous but it is all very important and I have been out there working very hard in the past and are planning to do as much this year as I have in the past. Remembering Charlton Heston – NRA News 04-07-08

Tue, 08 Apr 2008 10:28:13 +0000

This was recorded from Cam & Co. on April 7, 2008. Because NRA News does not produce a podcast of their shows, I personally thought it was very important for as many people to listen to this episode to help remember of the man that helped inspire so many people to join and get involved in the NRA. Personally he did help inspire me to do everything that I have been doing and I still have one of the bumper stickers that says "My President is Charlton Heston". If you would like to keep his memory alive, one of his goals was to make the NRA the largest and most powerful organization that is protecting our Second Amendment rights. Please consider signing up every family member in your house along with your friends. Help make Charlton Heston's dream become a reality. Right now with approximately 4 million members I know that if everybody joined up the few people we could easily hit 6 or 8 million by the end of the year. Look to the right hand column you'll see a join the NRA logo if you use this logo to join the NRA you will save $10 on every membership. Also there is a membership available that does not include a magazine for $10. Please help make his dream a reality and join up as many members as you can. Also the real important thing would be joining up junior members, because they are the future. [...]

In this episode of the podcast I interviewed David T. Hardy, attorney, author, blogger and producer. Mr. Hardy is someone that I have been looking forward to interviewing for quite awhile. I am a regular reader of Mr. Hardy's blogs and anything else he does he has such a great insight and many years of work towards protecting our Second Amendment rights. It is a great pleasure and honor for me to interview Mr. Hardy and hopefully we will have some additional interviews with him in the future. Please considering purchasing a copy of the video he produced "In search of the Second Amendment, A documentary" it is an excellent video that should be shared with old friends and family. And you should probably purchase a copy and donated to one of your local libraries. Links: David T. Guest Host: X2 – Episode #080

Thu, 27 Mar 2008 17:53:24 +0000

Doc & Matt are the co-guest hosts in this episode. Also we have a voice mail talking about seeing someone do a straw purchase. Straw purchases are against federal law and if you ever see one yourself you should report it. Most of the time the only reason a person is doing a straw purchase is because it would be illegal for him to normally purchase a firearm on his own. So if you do not report it, makes the rest of us look like criminals. Link: Friends Of Calibers The Shot Show Suspects' probation oversight questioned[...]

Interview with Jim Irvine, Buckeye Firearms Association – Episode #068

Sat, 12 Jan 2008 02:26:47 +0000

In this episode the Podcast I interviewed Jim Irvine from the Buckeye Firearms Association. Also Mark from Maine send in an update. And my push for you to get more active, so remember to vote over at PodcastAlley.com. Links: Buckeye Firearms Association Dustin's Gun Blog-Dial 911 and Die, or Defend Yourself Killing zones by Mark Cushman Letter to the editor by Mark Cushman Poland, Maine: What do the recent shootings at the Westroads Mall in Omaha, Neb., have in common with the Virginia Tech, Trolley Square and Columbine High School tragedies? They all occurred in gun-free zones. When are we, as a society, going to realize that the only ones who are going to obey a "gun-free zone" sign are the law-abiding, not those intent on killing as many people as they can. Currently, this country has more than 20,000 gun control laws, and a study by the Centers for Disease Control has concluded that not a single one of them has done anything to reduce crime. It is the gun-free zones that should be outlawed. Those supposed gun-free zones are nothing more than victim-rich killing zones where madmen can kill as many people as they choose, and the law-abiding can do nothing to protect themselves. Forty-eight states allow some form of concealed-carry of firearms. Nebraska allows people to carry concealed handguns, but it allows property owners, such as the Westroads Ma[...]
