Simple & Nice

2010-05-25T00:12:40.476+08:00

Last week was my missus birthday and we celebrated it with our friends a day earlier than the actual day. On the actual day, I went over to my in law's place for dinner. It was a light dinner which my mother in law cooked for us. As for Chinese, we like to eat Mee Sua (long life noodle) for birthday.

This is the big bowl of Mee Sua for me. Liver Soup Mee Sua with egg!

My mother in law really can cook. The soup is no chicken soup boiled for hours with a whole chicken in it. It is just a soup cooked with the liver and egg. The texture of the mee sua is just great. Not too soft and not sticky. The livers are well cooked but still very tender. Liver is not nice and become hard if overcooked. This one just nice. As I said, Simple & Nice! Sometimes a bowl of mee sua and a night sitting around the table with the family chit chatting beats any fancy restaurant's expensive foods.

I bought a bottle of D&G La Lune 18 fragrance for my wife as birthday present. She tried it once when we window shopping in Parkson Ria sometimes ago and she likes the smell of it. Not so fruity but nice and lasting.

D&G La Lune 18 with Claudia Schiffer as the model. She looks stunning in the ads.

I wish my wife had a good and healthy year this year. Everything is going smooth for her in her works and most important...stay happy and pretty as always!

DAP WON Sibu By-Election 516!

2010-05-16T23:32:31.186+08:00

DAP won the Sibu 16 May 2010 by-election with only minority win of 398 votes. DAP gathered 18,845 votes to beat Robert Lau Hui Yew of Barisan National (18,447) and Independent candidate Narawi Haron (232). It is really a slap in the face for the Barisan National. Hope the BN will start to change from here.

Hope DAP will walk the talk too!

Sibu By-Election - Polling Day

2010-05-16T15:40:12.992+08:00

Today is the polling day of Sibu by-election and it is the D-Day for the month long fight between Barisan National and Opposition Party DAP. So many people coming out to vote today as many polling centers were packed with people and the traffic around the area were jammed. I think this is good as everyone do their duty as a Malaysian to vote for the country. There are so many banners, flags and posters in Sibu town. Sibu town is flooded with posters, flags and banners from the both party but BN had more in terms of quantity. Another incident is Sibu town is really flooded this morning with water. Too much water been pour into Sibu and the river can't accommodate it..  :) I wonder the flood mitigation purposed by BN will work or not... Last minute rally for DAP last night in the car park near Paramount Hotel. The place is flooded with people and estimated over 15,000 people turned out for the campaigning last night. So many people wanted to listen to the opposition but how many percent will vote for it? Many wanted to listen to Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim's speech last night. All the top guns from DAP were in Sibu last night including Karpal Singh who is in wheelchair. Really put in many efforts for the party. Lim Kit Siang is shouting loud on the stage to ask people to vote for DAP as well.  I went to vote around noon today. This is the polling center that I am casting my vote. Not many people there around noon. The registration counter for voting. It only took less than 5 minute to vote but the efforts before the election are enormous. So many BN flags surrounding the polling center. DAP's tent not far from the polling center. There are BN and DAP tents all around the polling center. I wonder what the tents for as those people just sat there doing nothing. Only an Uncle thanks me after I walked out from the polling center.  I sent my parent to vote in Rejang Park. The polling center over here is crowded. Traffic jam in the vicinity but the traffic police are not doing anything but just standby there. A little accident happened which really pissed me off. A stupid youngster in his lousy 'kamcai' scratched my side mirror while I am driving pass the road in front of the polling center. People just parked their cars on the road side and the road become very narrow to pass. The young man just rides very fast and get away without stop with a girl behind his back. I am stuck in the car and can't do anything. Sigh... Hope the police can do something and not just stand in the white tent and looking around doing NOTHING!  Many politicians outside the polling center shaking hands with the voters. Left is BN and right is DAP. Will this help anything? I wonder. UP or DOWN? You decide!  Stay tune and let's see who will win the Sibu by-election tonight! Hopefully it will be a fair game and the party won will walk the talk! [...]

Who Is The Boss - Sibu By-Election

2010-05-14T00:51:45.351+08:00

I guess by now the whole Malaysia will know or familiar with Sibu! You will see the word Sibu when you flip the newspapers, turn on your radio or turn on your TV for local news for the pass week until now. The whole Sibu town is packed with people and traffic jam for the whole week. I think this is the first time so many ministers from the federal coming over from West Malaysia and stayed in Sibu for so long. I guess you can hit a minister if you simply throw a stone in the street now. :P  All the hotels in Sibu are fully booked for the week and even some ministers can't find a room for himself and his bodyguards. Some had to fly home after finished their duties here in Sibu. Some ministers' bodyguards need to stay in Semi-D houses owned by some of the rich and famous tycoons of Sibu. You can do the calculation here as one minister will need to bring along his private secretary, private assistance, right left hand men, bodyguards...etc then continue with the deputy minister...they are bringing the whole villages of people over here. Some more there are so many police from other states coming over and helping out in Sibu. The total numbers of police from other states well over 2000! I guess the government is really over reacted to the situation of the by-election of Sibu. People from Sibu are very peaceful and we all don't like to parade in the streets, fighting with opposition...etc. Can spot familiar faces from the West? There were so many ministers came to Sibu with the DPM of Malaysia on the day of Sibu by-election nomination day just to support the BN candidate SUPP's Robert Lau Hui Yew. A helicopter was hovering in the sky that day for the whole morning burning fuel for nothing. Sea of blue BN flags... That morning was so hot and the sun is so sunny. Many people were asked to wait for all the ministers and DPM to come since 7.30a.m and waited until 9a.m just to follow the crowds to walk to the nomination center. Look at the photo below!  Can all the so called ministers for the rakyat open their eyes and look at this old lady? The sun is so hot and she still needs to wait under the burning hot sun sweating while waiting for all the big shots to come. Is this the way the ministers treating the rakyat? I salute this old lady as she waited patiently there and maybe her heart is still with the SUPP party and want to give her support to the party. But I don't even see a minister or the candidate walk over to her and offer her a drink or shade. Too bad. On the other hand,  the DAP is not doing any good as well. They also requested so many people to turn up for the nomination day in Rejang Park and gathered to go to the nomination center causing jam around the housing area just the the BN. My personal view is all this gathering on the nomination day is not necessary as the rakyat will not vote for the party just because they gathered more people on the nomination day. The rakyat will vote for the poeple which is really working for the rakyat. So many money and time wasted just for the nomination shows! Those are tax payers' money! This by-election really wasted so much many as all the ministers flying in and out, more than 2000 police patrolling in town for nothing, all the makan events held in hotels in town...etc are all wasting money. Those money can just put into good use rather than campaigning, right? I took this photo "Whos The Boss Restaurant" signboard while in Sandakan. So funny and do they really can have a name like this registered for a restaurant? I wonder.  Who will be the boss for this Sibu by-election? We shall find out on the night of 16 May 2010. Stay tune!  As for me, no matter which party won the by-election of Sibu, I hope they will walk the talk and not just talk the walk as I think the RAKYAT of MALAYSIA is the BOSS!  [...]

Mother's Day 2010

2010-05-09T17:46:55.922+08:00

First of all, wish all the mothers a very Happy Mother's Day today! Guess many are celebrating it tonight or some already celebrated it last night or earlier as most eateries will all fully booked by now on the actual day of Mother's Day.

I attended a function last night on one of the restaurant in town last night and saw one of my ex-colleagues are celebrating Mother's Day with his family there. He said if celebrate on actual day, every where will be crowded so he celebrate it a day earlier. Actually I think this is very true as most of the time on actual day, all the restaurants will be crowded and when that happens not many restaurants can maintain their quality of foods. Sometimes we need to wait for hours and sit there waiting for the foods to come as too many people in the restaurant. I guess not many will like to sit there and wait for hours.

This year my mum said we do the celebration at home. One of the reasons is that my little nephew just recovered from fever and better stay away from crowded places. My mum also said every where is crowded and no point waiting there for hours just for the not so nice food to come out. So here we are celebrating it at our home.

As for me, the actual meaning of celebrating it is not eat good foods but is the time that the whole family gathers together and have fun even it is just eating peanuts only. In today's world, everybody is busy with their own life. Many working away from home and cannot be home to celebrate it with their loves one. For those can make it home to celebrate it with mum, that is really good. For those who cannot make it home this year, make it happen next year. I think your mum will be happy to see you home...Mum is always worry about their child since the day she gave birth. She will worry did you take your dinner or not when you are away from home even you are already 50 years old and she is already 76 years old. That will not change no matter their child are 10 years old or 50 years old. Like the old sayings said, parent will worried about us since the day we born and until we are 99 years old.

Ok, I think it is time for me to get ready for the celebration and time to log off. Once again, wish all the mothers "Happy Mother's Day"! Enjoy the day as this is your day, Mum! I love you!

Hotel Sandakan

2010-05-04T21:44:40.284+08:00

I was staying in Hotel Sandakan when I am in Sandakan. This Hotel Sandakan is quite an old hotel as can tell from the interior design and outlook of it. The good thing is this hotel is located right in the middle of the town near the Sandakan waterfront. Hotel Sandakan is built on a high slope and I like the feeling of driving up a high slope to reach the hotel. Gave me a feel of as I am going to a 5 Star hotel located up on a high hill. This is the outlook of the hotel and this hotel is quite tall. I like the signboard of the hotel. The signboard is like those signboards in the Hong Kong movies.  The front door of Hotel Sandakan. The lobby is not very big but in good condition.  The twin sharing hotel room. I wonder why they checked me into a twin sharing when I asked for a single room. I guess the price for double and single room are the same? The hotel is quite clean and no awful smells. This room is non smoking room and it is really non smoking room as many hotels give you a non smoking room but the room smells like chimney. I can't found any trace of smoke smells in the room. Not bad.  The standard setting of a hotel room. The TV is considering a bit small but it is watchable. The room provides WiFi but I can get any connection to the net. Sigh...I wonder why hotels' WiFi always had problems.  The bath room basin is clean. They provide adequate amenities in the bath room for double user.  The bath room have bathtub! But I am too lazy to fill the water as it takes a lot of time. The toilet bowl is clean as well. The toilet bowl has spray wash function to clean you up after you did your 'big business'. The pressure of the spray water is strong but I still prefer using toilet paper. How about you?  Look at what is inside the small fridge. Look closer and you can find all the drinks are tagged. They don't let you eat first then buy back the same drinks to put it back at the fridge. Want to make money and don't even let a single cent slip away from the hotel. When you are really thirsty and wanted to have cold drinks quick...PAY!  :)  The room key card holder.  If you are traveling to Sandakan anytime soon, you can consider this hotel as it is near to the town and eating outlets. You can get all the info as per above.  Overall the hotel is not bad and clean. The room costs me around RM163.00. The price is considered okay for a room like this in Sandakan as a tourist town. Many tourists come here to go out for diving as many nice dive sites are near to Sandakan. Maybe I will go back there for those nice nice dive sites. I read from the brochures in the hotel lobby that they offer many nice dive sites.  [...]

Sandakan Sim Sim Seafood Restaurant

2010-04-26T01:04:12.618+08:00

I was on traveling for the last whole week. I went to Sandakan for the first time in my life. I covered another land in Sabah now beside Kota Kinabalu. This was a business trip and I don't have the pleasure to take photos while eating the nice seafood...So I can only share some of the photos for places I went in Sandakan.   I was brought to Kampung Buli Sim Sim Water Village in Sandakan once I landed in Sandakan. Many claims the seafood there is very nice and cheap. The car is parked along the main road and the photo above is the outlook of the Kampung Buli Sim Sim Sandakan. This is something new to me as all the houses in this so called water village are all very low and close to the water surface. The bottom of the houses is only meters away from the water. The base of some of the houses is built with cements.  The houses are all built on the open sea.  The sea water level is so close to the bottom of the houses. I asked a question did ever before the water level raise higher than the bottom of the houses and the answer is YES! I guess that is why they need cements bottom for the houses in order for not letting the water get into the houses.  I felt unsafe to stay in houses like this as you never know when the water will get into the house or the tsunami may hit the shore. But I can tell you the there are many many houses in this Kampung Buli Sim Sim water village in Sandakan. The water village is really big and all the people live so close to each others and many of the houses are linked together. The Sim Sim Bridge 8 Seafood Restaurant is located inside the water village. While walking towards the restaurant, I passed by a house that I think is a shop selling seafood to tourists as many people packed the house. You really can find many types of different shops among the houses in this water village. Really an eye opener for me.  This is the Sim Sim Bridge 8 Seafood Restaurant facing the open sea. I guess it will be very nice if I can come here at night to enjoy seafood while the cold sea breeze is brushing my face.  Simple tables setting for the restaurant.  You can get many live seafood over here. It was a heaven for seafood lover like me. I ate fried noodles with seafood, fried kueh teow with seafood, black soy sauce squid and fried fern with crab meats. You can find the trace of seafood in every dish. The dishes are so delicious and too bad I can't get any shot of the foods as not very appropriate to do it at that time. Business is not leisure...I am not sure how much the lunch cost as I am not paying. I only come to eat. Hehe.  :) One of the nice views from the table of restaurant. Isn't it nice to see this type of view while enjoying all the fresh seafood? I was wondering why they hang the sampan above the water. Can anyone shed some lights on this?  If you want to really enjoy the seafood over here, don't look at the shore when you reach here as the sight is really awful to see. So many empty bottles, plastic bags, rubbish floating on the water at the entrance of the village. I wonder what is the local municipal council doing all the time. Sleeping or close one eye? The amount of rubbish in the water is really scary. The whole shore in that village is covered with rubbish. It was worst than the one I blogged about in River Front Bintulu last time. Maybe the Sandakan government should organize a 'Save The River Day' event in Sandakan. I guess the municipal council of Sandakan should do something as Sandakan is a famous tourist town for diving. Many international tourists came to Sandakan to go for diving as many beautiful dive sites near Sandakan. I guess no tourist will enjoy seeing the town is so dirty and full of rubbish.  Will post more on Sandakan soon. Time to hit the bed as I am exhausted mentally. Too many things need to process for the week. [...]

2nd Special Olympics Sarawak State Games

2010-04-19T01:44:54.016+08:00

The 2nd Special Olympics Sarawak State Games is held in Sibu on the 16-18 April 2010. I didn't know there is such an event before and I am glad that I attended this one. Special Olympics is an international organization and the Special Olympics Sarawak State Games competition is held every two years for people who have intellectual disabilities. The previous competition is held in Kuching. If you want to know more about Special Olympics, you can always check it out Special Olympics webpage follow the link here. This 2nd Special Olympics Sarawak State Games are participate by delegations from all over Sarawak like Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Kota Samarahan, Betong, Mukah, Dalat, Sarikei and Sibu which is the host of this 2nd Special Olympics Sarawak State Games.  The participants are all very energetic and really make the event a very successful one. I think I better cut the story short as pictures paint a thousand words.  The delegations from Kuching, Miri, Bintulu...etc gathered in hotel lobby for departure for Bukit Lima Swimming Pool for the swimming contest. The Miri delegation gathered in front of Bukit Lima Swimming Pool before the contest start. Smile!~~ Samarahan delegates and Head of Delegation posing for the cameras before enter the swimming pool. The battle field!  The center stage for the VIPs of the state games.  Miri delegates are practicing in the pool with the supporters on the poolside. Delegates for the state games gathered to march in to the swimming pool on the arrival of the VIPs. All the athletes for the Special Olympics Sarawak State Games gathered in front of the center stage for the speech of the VIP. All the athletes are in very good formation in front of the center stage. They are paying attention to the speaker in front of them. The teachers are really teaching them well to respect people. The swimming coach from Miri is helping out the athlete to do stretching before the swimming contest start. The athletes are ready to jump into the pool for the 100M freestyle.  Here we go! Look at the splashing water created by the athletes swimming very hard in the event. The children with intellectual disabilities can really swim. Their speed in the pool is really fast and I can tell you I am losing to them for sure if I am going to swim with them. They can beat me with no problem at all. The motto for the Special Olympics. Look close to the green wordings on the back of the shirt. Click to enlarge the photo if you cannot see. It is really a good phrasing "Let Me Win. If I Cannot Win, Let Me Be Brave In The Attempt"! This phrase can really motivate the individuals when they contest.  After the swimming event, they have a Ten Pin Bowling contest. I think each of everyone of the special children have their own skills in something.  There is a Healthy Athletes Program in the Special Olympics whereby all the volunteer nurses and doctors are doing free health screening for the people with intellectual disabilities.  The winners of the track and fields event for the 2nd Special Olympics Sarawak State Games are getting ready for the prize giving presentation. They are queuing up properly helped by volunteers in black shirt and white shirt for the prize giving presentation. There are many volunteers helping out in the Special Olympics Sarawak State Games. They are really working very hard and deserve a big applause for the kindness to help.  Applause to the winners! They are so happy to be presented the prize. Well done!  Come on, you can do it! Keep going! The teacher is cheering and motivating the athlete to keep going to reach the finish line for the girls' relay race games. The athlete managed to finish the race even it is not easy for her to done it. A big applause to her!  The closing ceremony of the 2nd Special Olympics Sarawak State Games! The 3rd Special[...]

Rasa Sayang Hey~~~

2010-04-13T00:32:34.275+08:00

Rasa Sayang Hey! Rasa Sayang Sayang Hey~~~ I guess most of the Malaysian will know and heard this song before as it is really popular amongst Malaysia. You can find many links in youtube for this song and here is one of it. This song is really loved by most of the Malaysian and really can said 1Malaysia song as most of the Malaysian can sing the chorus part of the song. Ok...enough for the song and let's get back to business. I had a nice Saturday morning breakfast with STP and his missus plus Annie Q and her cute little Fearles & Cruz with their cousin. Annie is back to Sibu for a week with her two little boys. The boys are cute and really can mix with people. I was so glad to be able to meet her up with STP for a nice Kampua time in Rasa Sayang Cafe. By the time we reached Rasa Sayang Cafe, we were lucky to get two tables outside the cafe just nice for the 7 of us. Most of the time on weekends, this place will be crowded and hardly to get an empty seat. All of us are having Kampua Mee that morning including the boys.Annie ordered one bowl of Kampua Mee for Fearles and Cruz while their cousin finished one bowl of Kampua Mee all by himself. LOL! Guess those from Sibu really can eat Kampua Mee eh? I was so lucky to eat and carry that morning as the Kampua is on STP while Lap Cheong and Steamed Yam Cake as a gift from Annie. The Lap Cheong (Chinese Sausages with wine) made by her mother in law. When I brought that home and shows it to my mum, my mum said this will be taste nice as its smell great! When something smells good, you can expect the taste will not be any less than the smell, right? The yummy yummy Steamed Yam Cake from Annie that her mum made. The colour of the yams is so vivid and it does really made the Yam Cake looks more attractive. The Yam Cake is really delicious with the dried prawn. I almost finished the whole lot by myself. Yum Yum!  Thanks to Annie for the generous gifts! Nice meeting you and the boys in person. Hope to see you and the boys again soon. [...]

It's Been Another Year...

2010-04-06T02:05:09.509+08:00

Today is QingMing Festival and as usual, I will pay respect to my grandfather at his grave during QingMing Festival. But this year, I went there during the weekend as Qing Ming is fall on Monday this year. My uncle wanted to do it during the weekend so we all go on weekend.
I am doing this every year without fail if I am in Sibu during Qing Ming Festival. I did that as well last year as you can read it here. I am telling myself I will continue to do it every year whenever possible as a respect to my ancestors.

This year we reached the place around 7 a.m and there were not many people. As usual on the actual day of Qing Ming, the place will be packed with people and traffic jam on the only entry to the main three 'hills' there. The sky is still a bit dark when we reached there.

This is the golden stone lotus on the grave of my grandfather. Not sure you guys notice or not for recent years, many people will buy flowers for Qing Ming when they go and pay respect to the ancestors. I still remember last time not many people buy flowers for Qing Ming but now everybody will buy one. There are so many stalls selling flowers on the roadside recent years. I guess the little stalls on the roadside will make money during the week of Qing Ming Festival.

Taken a few shots at the place after finish burning all the joss papers and joss sticks for my grandfather. The picture above is designated for burning joss papers. They just painted the little structure in red and sky blue for the Qing Ming Festival.

Did you go for Qing Ming Festival this year?

ATR Aircraft – MASWings

2010-03-29T23:39:55.982+08:00

ATR Aircraft                   source:FIRE News Went for a trip to Miri in new ATR aircraft operate by MASWings not long ago and back from Miri on an late evening flight. Had a little bad experience with MASWings. Not the in flight service but before enter the aircraft. The flight came on time and I was boarding the plane 10 minutes before the departure time. The bad experience happened during the boarding process. For those who have been on a ATR aircraft before will knew that you will need to board the aircraft from the aft of the aircraft. There is no front door for passengers boarding. While queuing up to enter the aircraft, the queue is long as there is always jam when people looking for seat and putting their luggage onto the overhead compartment and delaying the process. When I almost reach the staircase of the aircraft, the really bad experience happened.  Big exhaust outlet... The stupid pilots did not turn off the turbine engine and the hot air from the exhaust of the engine is blowing at me!!! I am not sure is it the engine is already off but it still releasing hot exhaust gas or what. Did MASWings ever think about that or did ATR aircraft maker think about this bad design or not? It is really not a good experience when you are standing behind an engine's exhaust and need to stand the hot burning air while inhale the exhaust gas! My face felt like burning as the hot exhaust gas temperature is really high as the aircraft is from another location and the engines just operated for more than an hours. If you can't imagine the feeling, you can start your car and put your face to the outlet of the exhaust pipe and you will understand what I mean. I guess I will become Roasted Pig if stand there for few minutes. I quickly move forward to avoid the hot air  but my face is already had the feeling of minor burning. I hope next time the pilots can be more considerate and turn off the engine or can wait until the hot exhaust gas is dispersed fully before asking people to line up to enter the aircraft. I think I will try to forward this complaint to MASWings and ATR aircraft maker and see what is their response.  Do watch out for this next time if you ever board the ATR aircraft.    align="right" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=skycthep-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B001LEYZR8&fc1=000000&IS2=1<1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="height: 245px; padding-right: 10px; padding-top: 5px; width: 131px;"> [...]

Ying Siang Restaurant - Sibu

2010-03-23T06:40:00.188+08:00

Went for a dinner hosted by my cousin in a restaurant near my house not long ago. This Ying Siang Restaurant is one of the earliest restaurant to have steamboat in Sibu. This restaurant is famous in Sibu since the 90s and it first operate in shoplots just beside the Sibu Civic Center. The business was so good at that time and there were so many restaurants operate in the same area at that time. It was the hottest spot for dinner or supper that time in Sibu. But the time had changed, that area is very quiet nowadays and only a few restaurants still struggling there. This Ying Siang Restaurant also moved to Kuching for a few years after that before come back to Sibu and open for business in Merdeka road. This place is not bad if you want to eat steamboat as it is quite windy and open air. But we are not having steamboat this time and opted for other dishes this time.  My cousin ordered Char Kuey Teow, King Pork Rib, Deer Meat, Seacucumber Soup and Tilapia Fish. The Char Kuey Teow and King Pork Rib are the MUST order items if you ever eat here.  This is the famous special Char Kueh Teow with clams. The Kueh Teow are larger size than the normal Char Kueh Teow. The Kueh Teow's size are not equal and it is surely must wider than the size of normal Kueh Teow. I found it nice to chew and the taste is superb!  I can said it is one of the nicest Char Kueh Teow in town. You can only find this special sized Char Kueh Teow in this restaurant and not any other restaurants in Sibu. The Char Kueh Teow is fried with eggs, clams and Bean Sprouts. I like this Char Kueh Teow as fried very dry and the generous amount of eggs in the Kueh Teow is just lovely. You must try this if you like Char Kueh Teow. Yummy!  This is the King Pork Rib. The meat is so tender soft and yet juicy wrapped by the tasty layer of special sauce. You will ask for more once you had one. Another good thing is this dish is boneless!  Wouldn't it be nice when you eat pork rib and the bone is removed? All you are biting is only soft tender pork rib meat. I guess this is why they name this dish King Pork Rib! Luxurious for the King only. Hehe.  :) This is the Ginger and Onion Deer Meat. Deer meat is also one of the popular dishes when people go for dinner in Sibu. I found deer meat more softer than beef and not so chewy. Good for lazy people like me and no need to chew so many times. The way of cooking is almost same as beef for deer meat. When you tired of beef, you can always ask for deer meat. Hungry? I am now craving for Char Kueh Teow... [...]

Kong Ma Ma Cafe - Sibu

2010-03-18T01:21:47.827+08:00

Kerja Kosong? No pay one? On one Sunday morning, me and my parent were wondering what to take for breakfast. Then I remember my friend told me that there is a new place opened in Delta Road area near the Delta Public Swimming Pool. The whole row of 3 storey shoplots are new build as the old shoplots are burnt down by massive fire few years ago. The cafe is located at the corner lot of the whole building. As normal, the new place is clean neat. But surprisingly the place is not crowded as new place is always crowded with people for the first few months. It is good for me as easy to find a parking and a table. The place is windy and not hot. The place is not bad but why not crowded? You will find out later on. My dad ordered a plate of Tomato Kueh Tiaw and my mum ordered a plate of fried 'Tung Feng'. I opted for Kampua Mee as wanted to try if this place serve nice kampua mee for my kampua hunt.  This is the Tomato Kueh Tiaw my dad ordered. The look of it is very nice and the taste is actually not bad according to my dad. You tried tomato Kueh Tiaw before?  This is the Fried Tung Feng my mum ordered. The portion is consider a bit too small but taste not bad. The Kueh Tiaw and Tung Feng are not bad but why not many people go there? I think I found the answer. The Tomato Kueh Tiaw cost RM4.00 and the Fried Tung Feng cost RM5.00. This pricing is above normal pricing level for Sibu. Normally a plate of Fried Kueh Tiaw in Sibu cost RM2.80-3.00 only. This plate cost one ringgit more and nothing so special about it. The Fried Tung Feng is also priced too expensive. Luckily I ordered a Kampua Mee and not noodles. This is the Kampua Mee I ordered. The look of it is nice but taste wise...can said tasteless. I am not sure what is wrong with it as everything seems ok for this plate of Kampua Mee. Recently only Sugar price is up but not salt or MSG. Why the Kampua taste so plain? One thing nice for the Kampua Mee is that they give you Chili with vinegar. This is hard to find in most of the Kampua Mee stalls in town already. Most of the stalls only provide Chili Sauce. Hope the Kampua Mee stall owner can improve in the taste of the Kampua Mee and I will become her regular if she does. [...]

The Leaning Electric Cable Post

2010-03-09T07:00:01.375+08:00

Sometimes I really wonder what is the all the Sibu ministers, political parties heads, Sibu Municipal Council is doing going around the town looking at a few blocked drainage and Hoo Haa a lot about it but the eyes are all closed for other things.Marvelous engineering standard in Sibu This is one of the roads upgrading projects in Ulu Sungai Merah which just completed recently. The upgrading project include widening the road and guess what is the impact for widening the road? They created a lot of Leaning Electrical Cable Posts which maybe inspired by the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Can you imagine what type of engineering construction is that? No standard protocol to follow or they adapted the 'Not My Job' attitude? They just bend the electrical post to make way for the widening road. They never care if the electrical post will fall or not and the falling of the post will cause a lot of people losing the electricity in the area. It is dangerous if the wires fell to the ground and tripping people. There are so many posts along this road are like this one. I hope those in charge of the project can at least correct the position of the posts for the safety sake of people in that area.Or is it the post had to be leaning and I don't know cause I had no any engineering basic knowledge? Election coming? I am pretty sure as all the big guns from West Malaysia are flying frequently to Sarawak to give sweet sweet candies to the rural people. I guess this year will be the election year for Sarawak.  Who will you vote? [...]

Delly Restaurant - Sibu

2010-03-04T07:00:02.726+08:00

This year Chap Goh Meh, my mum decided not to cook and we go out to eat at restaurant in town. This is partly due to my mum just recovered from diarrhea few days ago and my dad doesn't want her to be too tired after the recovery. My dad wanted to go to this Delly Restaurant in Pahlawan Commercial area near the Sibu long distance bus terminal for the Chap Goh Meh dinner. He said wanted to try it out as heard me recommended about the foods there are nice not so long ago. A little history for this restaurant. I heard it is opened by one of the ex-cook from the famous "Hung Foo Restaurant" selling cheap crabs and Pork Knuckle also in the vicinity. By the time we reached Delly Restaurant, the restaurant is already crowded and we were lucky to get a table near the payment counter there. While waiting for my sister family to come, we ordered the foods first. We thought the foods will not be served so fast as there are so many tables just started eating. Surprisingly, they served us the Pork Knuckle within 7 minutes. I can tell you that this Pork Knuckle is the best in town. The skin is very crunchy and delicious. I know it is high cholesterol but once a while will not be so bad. When you cut into the skin, the meat inside is so soft and juicy. Can't resist the crunchiness of the skin plus the softness of the meat dipped into the secret special recipe dip sauce. Put that into the mouth...heavenly. This is the "Yi Ping Wor" with cabbage, pork slice, sea cucumber and wolfberry. I like soup with wolfberry and I will scavenge every little wolfberry left inside the pot. They said wolfberry is good for our eyes.  The Clay Pot Bean curd. I was wondering why clay pot become steel wok when they serve us this dish. Maybe they ran out of clay pot or the name of the dish is just a name. This dish is not bad and I like the deep fried Bean curd stewed with vegetables, mushroom and pork until the skin is soften. I think it will taste nicer if it is cooked inside clay pot.  The Sweet and Sour 'Fu Gui' fish. They cut the cucumber into thin slices and cooked it with onions in sweet and sour sauce. The cucumber taste really nice and it is really sour. My mum likes it very much. The fish is just average and really nice to eat with the sweet and sour sauce.  The total bill for the dinner is only RM95.00 plus drinks and another two dishes which I forgotten to take photos. This restaurant is selling nice crab as well. This time we didn't try the crab and maybe next time as we sure will go back to this restaurant again. [...]

I Strike 4D!

2010-03-02T00:07:37.358+08:00

Thanks to Streamyx so called broadband for the "super good" service for the past few days as I can't even dial in to the service. Sigh... Luckily today I finally managed to get connected back to the cyber world. My car had a little accident on the 6th day of Chinese New Year when me and wife went for "Lim Teh" with my friends in Pahlawan area. We had a fun night chit chatting until 11 something and the cafe is going to close shop for the night so we had to leave. We all went down to get our cars. While still continue chit chatting downstair before reaching our cars, we all heard a loud banging noise and we all turned to the source of the noise. OMG, I saw a Black Hilux knocked the backside of my car. I quickly ran over and blocked in front of the Hilux to avoid him getting away as he is intended to do so thinking nobody saw what he did. At that time, the parking lots are so empty and only my car and his is on the parking lots near there. I have no idea where he puts his eyes or he is just so ignorance and don't even bother to turn his head when reverse his car. When I blocked his way, all my friends also came over to the scene and there are 8 of us surrounding him and his girlfriend. I demanded his phone number and IC no. for record as I need him to pay for the damages. Luckily he didn't say much and agreed to pay for the damages the next day. My right back signal light is cracked. Need to change the whole set of the signal light and brake light as its come in a set. The bumper was scratched as well and need to repaint the whole bumper. I got to leave my car with the repair shop for three days because of that. Now I get back my car already.  While talking with my father in law yesterday, out of no way he mentioned that need to buy my car plate number. In the early afternoon before that, while I was driving home with my dad and mum we saw a car with Miri license plate with the same number as my car plate number stopped near my house. My mum also mentioned it is such a coincidence to see the same number. This made me go straight to the Toto and 4D outlets to buy my car plate number. This is also thanks to my wife as on the day of the accident, she also asked me to go and buy Toto and 4D to try our luck as I never buy Toto and 4D before. She is right. I strike 4D today. When checking  the Toto and 4D numbers this morning, I was disappointed as first prize, second prize, third prize and special prize all don't have my number. While I almost give up, my eyes wide opened. I saw my number appeared in the consolation prize! I even double checked with another newspaper to confirm it. I was so happy and called my wife straight away. Haha. :D Even though the prize I won is only RM 240.00 as I only bought 4 unit,  I am already happy with it. It is Chap Goh Meh yesterday and I started the new year with wining 4D. It is a good sign and good start for the year 2010. Hope I will "Huat" in the year 2010 and more $$$ come my way! [...]

Can You Resist?

2010-02-24T07:00:04.802+08:00

Can you resist? I bet most of us can't resist good foods. Chinese New Year is the festive for good foods. Everyone will eat and eat and eat on this festive session. Some of my friends and relatives who came back to Sibu for the Chinese New Year celebration were looking everywhere for local delicacy...KAMPUA! Yes, they just loved it. I accompany one of my best friends and cousin to go for Kampua hunting on the eve of Chinese New Year and the first day of Chinese New Year. Ops...actually is the second day as we ordered the plate of Kampua around 1 a.m. Can you imagine that? They are eating even they felt full but still wanted to eat. I am only watching as I can eat Kampua anytime but they just can have it once a year. I am not eating as my stomach is bloated already from morning. What do you had for your eve of CNY? Mine are as below. My family favourite for Chinese New Year - Lap Mei (腊味). This is a must for us, the Hakka on Chinese New Year. Wax Sausages, Liver, Duck and Pork Belly can only be found on Chinese New Year. So, this is like the Kampua for Sibu people who only come back to Sibu once a year. We bought a lot of these waxed meats to keep for Chinese New Year few weeks before Chinese New Year as this is not really popular over here in Sibu. Most of the Sibu people don't even know how to eat this or see this before. Mostly Hakka and Cantonese eat this in Sibu. There is many times that when my mum buys this in Supermarket, a few Foo Chow ladies are wondering why my mum bought something like this and they ask my mum how to eat this? The duck is so thin and no meat one. You bought this to eat what? Skin? We felt so so funny when we heard that. I bet many in West Malaysia do eat this and I even bought Wax liver, sausages, pork belly and duck in Petaling Street when I am in college back for Chinese New Year. Do you eat Wax Preserved Meat?  Deep Fried Cod Fish. This type of Cod Fish is from Taiwan and the price is cheaper. Good source of Omega 3 Fatty Acid. Shark Fin Soup. My mum cooked this soup from the shark fin given by relatives. The shark fin is so tiny winy and I can even hardly found the trace of it inside the bowl of the soup. But the soup is really nice thanks to my mum good cooking skill.   This is the main course...BIG head fresh water prawn! You will know this is the prawns that I bought on the eve of Chinese New Year at 1 a.m in Central Market if you read my previous post. Look at the size of the Big Head Prawn...huge, right? The normal sized plate can hardly fit the whole prawn. Look at this! The yummy juicy orange coloured prawn head paste inside the head of the prawn. This is super delicious and you can scoop it up from the head of the prawn with a spoon. Heavenly nice. The prawn is so fresh and the head is so juicy with a lot of paste. This is what we want to look for in a prawn and it is the nicest part of all for a prawn. Yum Yum!  Do you still eating good foods as it is still Chinese New Year until the end of this week or started to keep fit already? I am still eating! Haha!    [...]

Happy Chinese New Year - Year of The Tiger!

2010-02-14T00:00:00.385+08:00

Happy Chinese New Year! It is another new year and I am so glad to say that I am still writing my blog. I remember I started my blog around Chinese New Year time last year. Hurray! I did some shopping with my family as usual on Chinese New Year. It is really a good time to spend time together with your loved one. Sibu is always crowded with people on Chinese New Year. Many Sibu people are working all around the world and many came back for the new year celebration. I already done my shopping for new shirts on my last trip to Kuching with my wife. My New Year Shirts and Pants! Nice? My wifey chose for me one.  :) I went shopping with my wife, In Laws and brother in laws plus his girlfriend the night before new year eve. My father in laws shops for pants for new year. He found a nice jean after looking out in many shops. After walking for sometimes, my in laws are hungry and we went for Sugarbun for a light meal. After Sugarbun, we went to Medan Mall supermarket for some foods. That is already 10.30 p.m when we reached the supermarket. The supermarket is still open for business and it is really fun to shop at this late hour as not many chances we can shop a supermarket at these hours. After buying Medan Mall, my father in law is feeling tired and wanted to go back and rest. Actually we planned to go to the night market which open 24 hours for this new year after shopping in Medan Mall supermarket. Now we need to detour and headed home. At first my wife felt disappointed as she always wanted to go to the night market which open 24 hours in every Chinese Nnew Year since her primary school. Then I told her we can continue after sending my in laws back home. My brother in law also tagged alone but her girlfriend forgotten the home keys and had to cut short her night and headed home. Too bad she can't join us. We reached the night market around 11.30 p.m and the place is jammed. Hard to find a decent parking space.  So many little blue tents setting up for the night market. The traffic is terrible there.  My wife said she ate at this Chieng's corner once with my father in law very early in the morning when she is still a kiddo. This coffee shop supposes to close already at this wee hours but it is still full with people inside eating and drinking.  All the New Year Stalls operating 24 hours selling Mandarin Orange, cakes, biscuits, CNY decors stuffs...etc This is the first time we went for the Central Market Sibu so 'early' in the morning at 1.00 A.M! My wife is so excited while taking photos around the place.  Pomelo with nice ribbon and sticker for the Chinese New Year.  I never saw Pomelo with this colour...first time I saw this. Usually Pomelo is with the green skin but this one is yellow. New product I guess. Busy selling fruits for CNY.  While walking at the wet market, we saw these big big freshwater prawns. My dad wanted to have this for the New Year's Eve Reunion Dinner so I bought three of these. Nice. Seacucumber, anyone? The price of seacucumber is really expensive.  We called it a night after I bought the freshwater Big Head Prawns. While walking back to get our car, this shop selling a lot of Tang Lung is really attracted our eyes as the shop filled with red light.  So red! It is Chinese New Year, the year of TIGER! Wish Everyone a Happy and Properous New Year! Happy Valentine's Day as well! Gong Xi Fai Cai! [...]

Birthday Cakes!

2010-02-10T06:30:00.499+08:00

You like birthday cake? I got two on my birthday not long ago. Hehe. Thanks to my lovely wife and my sister. I got the cake from my sister when I back from work. She is waiting at my house for me to give me the cake with my little nephew. He is getting more active each day as I guess he is learning to talk and walk now. I like to play with him whenever he is in my house.  This is the cake from my sister. The outlook is not bad and the taste is just so so. But I am still happy as who doesn't like birthday cake? My little nephew also wanted to eat as we tease him with the cake in front of his mouth. He is still too young to eat any cake beside milk powder. Next year Uncle will sure let you have a big slice of cake, little Kenny! We all gathered and enjoyed the cake with laughter with little Kenny kept looking at the cake while we gulped down our throat.  :P Next station will be Cafe Cafe as we had a party with my friends there to celebrate my birthday. Before that,  I went to get the cake with my wife which she specially ordered for me. A few days before, we went to the same bakery near Medan Mall to book the cake. But when we reached the place, my wife doesn’t allow me to go in to the bakery together with her. She wanted to give me a surprise on my birthday. Then she went in along to book the cake while I waited outside. I am not sure what cake she is trying to book for me...it is kind of fun to not knowing what you gotta get sometimes. I kept asking her what cake she book that is so secretive and she just said nothing special. After a few attempts to get a hint from her which I failed, I gave up and waited for the day to come. We picked up the cake and headed to Cafe Cafe for dinner. The parking at the vicinity that night is terrible as many go for prayers in the Tua Pek Kong Temple which is just beside the cafe. We parked at roadside as all the parking lots were occupied. We waited for our friends to come for about half an hour which is bad. They should be puncture and not to be late...but my mood is good that night, so I am ok with that. Don't want to get angry on my birthday...should be happy.  :) We started off the dinner after all my friends came. Not many and only 4 of them. I missed many shots of the foods as too hungry and forget to take photos.    This is our routine order 'Mee Mamak' whenever we come to this cafe. The Mee Mamak here is really delicious. The taste is nice and a bit spicy. I guess it will be nicer if can be a bit more hot and spicy.  This is my wife's favourite Potato Salad. I like it too. This is the present from my friends. A 'ELLE' wallet and a belt.  After all the dishes, the main course of the night is finally revealed... I LOVE IT!!!~ This is the cake that my wife kept secretly from me for the past few days. I called it “Superman Cake”. She actually drafted the sign to the bakery to make the cake as this bakery do said before that what we can draw they can make it. So my wife wanted to see if they mean what they said. I really so happy when I saw this cake. This is the nicest cake that I ever receive thanks to my wife.     The Chocolate Mint cake. This is my favourite as I really like chocolate with mint. I like the minty taste and the cooling effect of the mint in the yummy chocolate cake. I had a few pieces of the cake and bloated after that. I really had a great time that night and a really happy birthday! [...]

Pahlawan Cafe - Sibu

2010-01-27T19:49:04.343+08:00

I went to Pahlawan Cafe for breakfast with my parent last Sunday. This cafe is opened not long ago. We are running out of ideas where to eat as wanted to try something new. Headed over to this cafe and see what they offer. As usual, nothing much different from the rest of the kopitiam over here in Sibu. I was wondering why they opened a coffee shop but do not even bother to try sell something new and nice rather than those typical food like Chicken Rice, Fried Noodles...etc. Parking over here is easy and the place is windy. Location wise is not bad. I walked around to see what the stalls are selling and I chose the beef noodle stall. The stall that I chose selling Beef Noodle, Dumpling (jiaozi 饺子), Black Sesame Tang yuan - a dish of glutinous rice balls...etc. The owner of the stall is a China Lady came from the mainland. Can know it when she speaks. I guess nowadays more and more workers from China coming over to Malaysia to work. They came here and worked in various industries...guess life is just not so easy in China. They trying to make so bucks and bring it back to China for a better life. The rich and poor gap in China is getting wider day by day. Me and my mum ordered the Beef Noodle. My dad ordered the Kampua Mee from other stall which is not nice according to him. I wonder why he ordered the kampua mee rather than other things as he seldom take kampua mee when go to coffee shop. The RM4.00 per bowl Beef Noodle. Zoom in for the yummy and tender beef. The beef is nicely cooked and the meat is juicy with tendon on it. Really chewy. The taste of the soup is light but delicious. Some of the soup for beef noodles over here in Sibu taste nothing like a soup cooked with beef. This one is not bad as you can feel the meaty taste of the soup. I think this lady did really come to Sibu with some "kung fu" or secret recipes in cooking.  I will try the Black Sesame TangYuan and Dumpling next time. This time cannot try as too much food in the morning is not good as I am trying to cut down my weight. I already loss 1 Kg but still have many kilos to lose. [...]

Intruder!

2010-01-23T07:59:03.657+08:00

Two days ago while I am about to enter the bathroom after switching on the fluorescent lamp, I heard a noisy coming from my toilet. At first, I was thinking maybe a bird or something outside the windows made that noise. When the light came bright, I quickly check inside the toilet. There is an intruder inside my toilet...a lizard or gecko. Not sure what to call it as there are too many types of lizard or gecko. I can tell you if you look at the size, colour and skin of this thing, you will sure don't want it to crawl in your bedroom. A few days ago, my mum already scared by this gecko inside her bedroom as it was hiding behind the curtain. My mum was freak out and wanted to chase it away but in vain. It went on hide inside the bedroom. For the past few nights, my mum couldn't get a nice sleep as always thinking of this thing crawling in the bedroom. My dad also cannot sleep well as he is busy looking for this intruder in the bedroom hoping to find it so that my mum can sleep well. He is trying to catch it after turned off the light as this type of animal always come out at night but again all the efforts in vain. Now this little gecko came out from hiding by itself and bumped into me. You know what is gonna happen to it, right? I quickly ran downstairs to get my net and try to catch this guy. My daddy also comes up to give a helping hand. To tell the truth, I really don't like this cool blooded little crawling thingy. My dad had a suggestion to paralyze this little thingy with our secret weapon "Ridsect"! I think even Ridsect company don't know that their product that used to kill mosquito is good in paralyzing a lizard or gecko. Found a funny ad of Ridsect in Youtube. My dad sprayed the insecticide to the gecko and it trying to get away. My dad kept spraying and this little intruder is losing consciousness. I try to catch it with my net but I was wrong. It still had a sudden burst of power to try to crawl up to my hand and this really scared me. I quickly throw the net with this thing on it away. It was really close that this cold blooded crawling creature crawling up my hand. Very 'geli'. Then we kept spray it again with Ridsect and this time, it really paralyzed this gecko. My dad catches it with the net and I backed off after the incident. Haha. My dad trying to kill it and I stopped him for doing that. It is not good to kill it as I think. So, I took over it with a container and release it outside the house. Let it be free. Before letting it go, for sure I will not forget to snap a picture of it and share with you all. Imagine for this gecko to crawl in your bedroom when you are sleeping? Scary? Look at the pattern of the skin...I guess lizard lover will like it very much. But definitely not for me. Thank you. Do you scare of lizard? [...]

Blue Splendour Restaurant Sibu

2010-01-20T07:08:00.661+08:00

I went to Blue Splendour Restaurant in Wisma Sanyan for dinner not long ago with my family and relatives. My Uncle came back to Sibu to visit my grandmother with my cousin. My cousins are both on holidays for this month. We wanted to go for some good food and have a nice reunion dinner as my Uncle seldom come back to Sibu. So we went to Blue Splendour Restaurant because of the long track records and good name in Sibu for a very long time. I guess the good name need to be renamed now. We reached the restaurant around 7.30 p.m and the place is very empty. This is not usual for this restaurant as it is always packed. There are only two tables outside and a few tables in the private partition. We got two tables and my uncle proceeds to order the food. My uncle wanted to eat those local delicacy and fresh water fish as not easy to get else way. After 10 minutes the waitress took the order, she came back and said that no more Midin (jungle fern) for us. It is reserved by other people already. I guess what she means other people are those in the private partition...but that's ok for us. We asked for mixed vegetables for replacement. After 5 minutes, another waitress came over and told us that Cangkuk Manis also not enough for us already. Hey, you took the orders and now you came back and said this not enough that one finish, is it the way to do business? Then we gave up and tell her just forget about it. If we know earlier, we better go to Ruby Restaurant for their nice nice Cangkuk Manis. We seated there waiting for the foods to come after the two 'incidents'. While waiting, I saw one of the bosses of the restaurant is running in and out from the private partition and sometimes carrying some liqueurs. I guess it must be VIPs inside there. The waitresses also busy serving the people in the private partition. We waited for almost an hour until the first plate of dish is served. I have been checking with the waitress for a few times why our foods are not serving yet after so long and the answer I got is that it is coming. Got one time those waitresses don't even bother to look at me and also the fatty boss is just ignored us and only busy serving the people inside the partition. I was really angry at that time but because of the amount of people we had, it will be troublesome to move to other place for dinner. My grandmother cannot walk very well also nowadays. This is the 'hotplate' that took the restaurant almost an hour to cook. I guess I can cook it myself within 15 minutes. I don't understand what took them so long or maybe they just ignored us and serve their VIPs first which came later then us. I only like the little white stick, actually it is one type of fish (white rice fish if I am not wrong) that they deep fried it with flour. The taste is not so bad. The rest...forget about it. Mixed vegetables? Looks like a plate of junk. It is totally tasteless and look like a dish that prepared by a person don't even know how to cook at all. I guess they just dump in whatever they can find in the kitchen and just simply prepared for us. Yiaks...This dish is left almost untouched. The 'Tapah' fish which is equally tasteless and meatless. They serve us the fish head which cut into two and serve for our two tables. Where got meat for this fish head? Somemore cut into two...speechless. This is the Deep Fried Oat Prawns which is the only dish that look and taste like a dish served by a famous restaurant. It is not very good but consid[...]

The Invention of Lying

2010-01-16T18:03:13.078+08:00

It is nice to be weekend and it is the movie day for me. I just finished watching an interesting and funny movie titled: The Invention Of Lying. It is a slow but romantic comedy and of course talks about LOVE. Can you imagine the world without lies? This movie is really nicely plotted and they used a very different way to tell the importance of true love and love without lies. This movie set place in a world with people all only telling the truth all the time and they don't even know what is lying and lie is not actually existed in their world. It is hilarious to see how people actually talk without any intention to lie and tell it true from the heart. I was laughing out loud myself. It is totally different from what our world is actually today. I guess today our world is full of lies and people actually not all the time telling the truth and maybe most of the time for some people. Let's take for example when your boss had a lousy idea which he think is brilliant and he is happily telling everyone and you tell him right in the face that the idea is stupid? You sure will say not bad not bad...etc, right? In the movie, the main character Mark is a loser and one day, he is stroked with an idea to tell a lie and his world changed ever since after the first lie he told. In this movie world, people will believe what ever you told people as in that world, there is no lies at all. People will take your words as real. Like I am telling people, "Hey, I am Superman and can fly." Then they will say, "Why you never tell me before since I know you for such a long time." They really do believe that you can fly when you told them you can fly type of things. It is really funny to hear they conversation as I never think of things like that and actually sometimes we tell lies without we realize it ourselves. The screen writer is brilliant. In the movie, Mark attracted to a pretty girl which starring Jennifer Garner as Anna. Oh, I missed her show. Mark is a loser and can never attract a girl like Anna. But what makes him win Anna is the truth that he told her before. I think that is what the movie is trying to tell, we need to be true to our love. But if our world is like in the movie where everybody is telling what true from the heart, I think the world will be in a big mess where everybody will be fighting all the time and not happy all the time as most of the time the truth is harsh. Sometimes a little lie which do no harm is actually can bring happiness, confidence, help people like those with depression...etc. "Your cooking is not bad as a beginner, your result is not so bad, your dress looks great, you are not fat at all, your blog post is great and interesting...etc. Sound familiar? Haha.  Our world still needs lies which are the beautiful lies, right? [...]

Free Gifts

2010-01-12T07:37:00.132+08:00

I went over to Premier Shopping Complex after work to buy magazine. This is the best time to go there as it is the only time that you can easily find a parking space. I got a parking right in front of the main entrance. There is a small bookstore selling all sorts of newspaper, magazines, comics...etc  inside the complex. I forget how many years since I started to buy magazines and comics from this bookstore. This little bookstore got many varieties of magazines, comics and newspaper than any other bookstores in town. I bought a comic and a magazine this time. For a New Year, the magazine got a bumper issue with free gifts wrapped inside. I quickly grabbed it when I saw it. I think this is the gimme for the publisher to attract customer to give free gifts. This is the magazine that I bought today "PETS".
