As I Began to Love Myself

Beautiful Words on Self LoveA poem read by Charlie Chaplin on his 70th birthday (April 16, 1959), originally written by Kim McMillen. As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody if I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me. Today I call it “RESPECT”.  Today I call it RESPECT As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow. Today I call it “MATURITY”.As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm. Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE”. Today I call it MATURITY                                                          As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm. Today I call it “SIMPLICITY”. As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF”.             Today I call it SIMPLICITYAs I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is “MODESTY”.As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worrying about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where everything is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT”.  Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it FULFILLMENTAs I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But as I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART”.We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born. Today I know “THAT IS LIFE”!Source:[...]

5 amazingly effective foods for adventure athletes

Athletes are often adventurous when it comes to experimenting with weird or wild foods to fuel their bodies and sports. In fact, some are rather fanatical about whipping up power-packed concoctions pre- and post-workout. But let’s face it, shakes and bars get boring. Here are a few surprising natural fruits, veggies and ancient grains that could shake you out of a fitness-food funk while helping with muscle damage, cramps, endurance and more.Tart cherries: Recovery aid Montmorency tart cherries are bright red for a reason. The stunning color comes from the fruit’s concentration of anthocyanins, a type of phytonutrient thought to help reduce muscle damage and strength loss, essentially acting as a recovery aid after intense exercise. “Weekend warriors and exercise enthusiasts, like myself, are looking for more natural food sources to aid recovery,” nutritionist and acclaimed running and triathlon coach Matt Fitzgerald, who has incorporated Montmorency tart cherry juice into his routine, told GrindTV.“I add Montmorency tart cherry juice, frozen tart cherries and Greek yogurt to my pre-workout smoothie and drink the second serving as soon as I get home.“Studies have shown that cyclists and marathon runners who drink two 8-ounce servings of tart cherry juice daily had accelerated recovery, reduction of exercise-induced inflammation and maintained muscle function,” Fitzgerald says. How to eat it: Tart cherries come in dried, frozen and liquid forms year-round. You can make your own gummies, add cherry juice to a blended drink or throw some dried pieces in trail mix.Pickel juice: Muscle de-cramper  The thought of downing a cup of pickle juice isn’t exactly appetizing. But if you’ve ever suffered a killer leg cramp and need a quick fix, you might think twice about this pungent liquid which has proven highly effective for the immediate relief of muscle cramping.Seizing muscles were once tied to a lack of replenishing electrolytes during exercise, but researchers now believe it’s not just pickle juice’s electrolyte concentration that eases cramps, but rather the veggie’s acid properties which triggers a reflex when hitting the back of the throat. This signals the nervous system to shut down overactive neurons that actually cause cramps. Yeah, weird, but apparently it works when you’re in a pickle. How to eat it: The Pickle Juice Company sells pickle brine as a translucent liquid in 8- and 16-ounce bottles or as an extra-strength shot, with a formula boasting 10 times more electrolytes than the average sports drink.Cacao: Metabolism mobilizer  Hard-to-pronounce cacao, the main ingredient in dark chocolate, is actually incredibly easy to love. This ancient bean is one of the most nutritionally complex foods on earth, but the high magnesium content in this raw food may be the most interesting component for athletes.Magnesium plays a big part in improving blood flow and metabolizing of adenosine triphoshate (ATP), which is critical in both aerobic and anaerobic functions that active folks know well. How to eat it: Buy organic raw cacao powder, which is made by cold-pressing the whole bean to preserve its key vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Brew it as a wintertime alternative to sugar-laden chocolate milk; add it to a banana-based smoothie; or throw in some cacao “nips” to healthy baked goods. Chia seeds: Endurance extender   Ancient Aztecs, Incans and Mayans used the small but mighty chia seed as a serious source of energy when fighting and moving for long periods of time.Raw chia seeds pack twice the protein than most grains, five times more calcium than milk and contain high levels of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, soluble fiber, potassium and antioxidants. Modern endurance athletes are using the powerful chia as a natural endurance booster for adventures that require sustained energy. How to eat it: The neutral taste of chia seeds means they’re easy to add to homemade energy bars and juices, or to mix [...]

Five Ways Science Says to Handle Difficult Times.

Navigating Life's StrugglesA mentor of mine recently passed away, and I was heartbroken — so I tried my best to avoid thinking about it. I didn’t even mention it to my family because I didn’t want those sad feelings to resurface. In other words, I took the very enlightened approach of pretend it didn’t happen — one that’s about as effective as other common responses, such as get angry, push people away, blame myself, or wallow in the pain.Even for the relatively self-aware and emotionally adept, struggles can take us by surprise. But learning healthy ways to move through adversity — a collection of skills that researchers call resilience — can help us cope better and recover more quickly, or at least start us heading in that direction. Here are 12 resilience practices (squeezed into five categories), which can help you confront emotional pain more skillfully. Wallowing in our pain or bottling our emotions is easy, but it doesn’t help.   1. Change the NarrativeWhen something bad happens, we often relive the event over and over in our heads, rehashing the pain. This process is called rumination; it’s like a cognitive spinning of the wheels, and it doesn’t move us toward healing and growth. The practice of expressive writing can move us forward by helping us gain new insights on the challenges in our lives. It involves writing continuously for 20 minutes about a particular issue; exploring your deepest thoughts and feelings around it. The goal is to get something down on paper, not to create a memoir-like masterpiece.A 1988 study found that participants who did expressive writing for four days were healthier six weeks later, and happier up to three months later, compared to people who wrote about superficial topics. In writing, researchers suggest that we’re forced to confront ideas, one by one, and give them structure; which may lead to new perspectives. We’re actually crafting our own life narrative and gaining a sense of control.Once we’ve explored the dark side of an experience, we might choose to contemplate some of its upsides. A technique called ‘finding silver linings’ invites you to call to mind an upsetting experience and try to list three positive things about it. For example, you might reflect on how fighting with a friend brought some important issues out into the open and allowed you to learn something about their point of view.  Writing about your pains and emotions helps heal them and transform them into wisdom. In a 2014 study, doing this practice daily for three weeks helped participants afterward become more engaged with life, and it decreased their pessimistic beliefs over time. This wasn’t true for a group whose members just wrote about their daily activities. It was particularly beneficial for staunch pessimists, who also became less depressed. But the effects wore off after two months, suggesting that looking on the bright side is something we have to practice regularly. 2. Face Your FearsThe practices above are helpful for past struggles; ones that we’ve gained enough distance from to be able to get some perspective. But what about knee-shaking fears that we’re experiencing in the here and now?The ‘overcoming a fear’ practice is designed to help with everyday fears that get in the way of life, such as the fear of public speaking, heights, or flying. We can’t talk ourselves out of such fears; instead, we have to tackle the emotions directly. The first step is to slowly, and repeatedly, expose yourself to the thing that scares you — in small doses. For example, people with a fear of public speaking might try talking more in meetings, then perhaps giving a toast at a small wedding. Over time, you can incrementally increase the challenge until you’re ready to nail that big speech or TV interview.   Start off small when facing your fears, and gradually, your confidence will build. In a 2010 stud[...]

47 Transcendental Quotes from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a spiritual guru who developed the famous Transcendental Meditation technique. His organization grew very quickly and was transformed into a powerful spiritual movement. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a disciple of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath in the Himalayas. In the 60s and 70s, Maharishi became famous as the guru to The Beatles. He was reported to have trained more than 40,000 teachers of transcendental meditation. These, in turn, have taught his technique to more than five million people around the world. Here are some of its quotes about Transcendental Meditation and related subjects:Transcendental Meditation opens the awareness to the infinite reservoir of energy, creativity, and intelligence that lies deep within everyone.By enlivening this most basic level of life, Transcendental Meditation is that one simple procedure which can raise the life of every individual and every society to its full dignity, in which problems are absent and perfect health, happiness, and a rapid pace of progress are the natural features of life.A loving heart, a heart full of love, is the precious essence of human life. The fortunate one uses the instrument of meditation and probes deep into his heart. Then the waves of love gain the depth of the ocean, and the ocean of love flows and fills the heart and thrills every particle of being. Every wave of life then flows in the fullness of love, in the fullness of divine glory, in the fullness of grace, in bliss and peace.Meditation is the straight flight of the mind to the Kingdom of Heaven present in the heart of everyone. If we are able to meet these two requirements – regularity in meditation and leading a good life in society, day-to-day a good life – then nothing would be unattainable by us.Life finds its purpose and fulfillment in the expansion of happinessThe important thing is this: to be able, at any moment, to sacrifice what we are for what we could become.Fulfilment is structured in achievement, Achievement is structured in action, Action is structured in thinking, Thinking is structured in knowledge, Knowledge is structured in consciousness.A comfortable and regulated life is needed for fastest pace of evolution. It is the purity of man’s heart and mind, and his innocent and faithful approach to action with the purpose of all good to everyone, which really succeeds in yielding maximum results with minimum effortWhatever we put our attention on, will grow stronger in our life.If we think of defeat, that is what we will get. If we are undecided, nothing will happen to us. We must just pick something great to do and do it. Never do we think of failure at all, for as we think now, that is what we will get.The golden gate to peace in life is the experience of bliss, and it is easy for everyone to acquire this great glory and live it throughout life. You are the master of all the laws of nature if you know the transcendental field.Responsibility can never be given. It can only be taken. The secret of success is conviction and persistence. What makes one luckier is the good that he has done to others. It comes back to him. A man doesn’t become lucky by doing wrong. He becomes lucky because he has done good to others and that good comes back to him. And now he is lucky. No action can be performed successfully without a clear result in view.Don’t go for what you know you can get. Go for what you really want. What we have been saying from the beginning of the movement has been unbelievable but it has come to be believed. We have been impossible right from the beginning and we must continue to be impossible because we are raising a voice against suffering which has been considered to be the nature of life. It is our joy to be considered impossible – and it is our greater joy to make the impossible a living reality. The secret of success in business is creativity. The urgent need in business[...]

14 Health Benefits of Dark Chocolate, According to Science & 6 Delicious Recipes

Dark chocolate is not a guilty pleasure - it actually comes with many health benefits. Some doctors even say that “a dark chocolate a day keeps the doctor away.”Chocolate – real chocolate, not processed and sweetened milk chocolate – is chock-full of incredible health benefits. Dark chocolate made with cocoa is very good for you – and there are many reasons to include more of it in your diet. Some of the nutrients are destroyed in the process of making chocolate available for the general market. You want to make sure the chocolate you buy is within the healthy range. Check the label – a chocolate with a 60 percent or higher content of cocoa is packed full of nutrients and antioxidants. Often called bittersweet, they use minimal sugar. The best way to get all the nutrients from chocolate is to simply use unsweetened cocoa nibs. The bitter, crunchy, seed-like snack aren't the best-tasting treat – but their nutritional profile makes it worthwhile.1. Dark chocolate can help prevent depressionOne of the components found in dark chocolate is theobromine. Theobromine is structurally quite similar to caffeine, also known as its sister chemical.Theobromine, when consumed in larger amounts, can cause a dip in blood pressure, excitability, and give energy. This energy can be followed by a crash, leading some critics to tout chocolate as a dangerous addictive substance.Another chemical found in chocolate is anandamide. Anandamide is structurally similar to THC, but nowhere near as effective - one would have to shovel spoonfuls of raw cacao into their body before getting a ‘high’ from it. Despite this, anandamide can still provide a mood-boost and energy-boost, without the addiction and cardiovascular damage that comes with other stimulating substances.Yet another mood-boosting chemical in chocolate is phenethylamine, which is metabolized in your body into serotonin. Serotonin is one of the most important mood-regulating chemicals that your body can produce. If you’re deficient in serotonin, supplementing with phenethylamine - even through chocolate - can help bring you back to baseline.Dark chocolate contains key components that can be extremely helpful in alleviating depressive symptoms. 2. Dark chocolate can help prevent cardiovascular diseaseSmall-scale studies have indicated for quite some time that regular intake of cocoa can have a positive effect in fighting cardiovascular disease. A more recent study on cocoa's cardiovascular benefits, done in 2006, proved this among a larger study group. The study was done on 470 men, all tested while consuming different daily doses of cocoa. The conclusions were that cocoa does, indeed, lower the chances and significance of cardiovascular disease.A more recent study on cocoa's benefits shows that most of chocolate's compounds – theobromine, its many polyphenols and antioxidants – can all effect the cardiovascular system. They are unsure exactly which compounds do what. These are observational studies, and single-handedly do not prove that chocolate is responsible for these benefits. However, the consistent and repeated positive results in studies done on cocoa indicate that chocolate does have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system. Chocolate has had such a profound effect on so many systems in the human body that some authorities are unsure whether to call it a food or a drug.Regular consumption of non-fatty dark chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa will help fight cardiovascular disease. 3. Dark chocolate can aid against diabetesChocolate has been shown to bolster endothelial function and insulin resistance. The endothelium is extremely important in maintaining arterial health, and insulin resistance is the most commonly checked statistic to determine whether future diseases, like diabetes, will develop. Cocoa and its flavonoids help to positively modulate these[...]

7 Health Benefits of Coconut Oil According to Science (and 4 Delicious Recipes)

Coconut oil is the extracted oil from coconut, the popular fruit of the coconut tree that’s well-known for growing in tropical areas. It’s also an outrageously popular topic among social media and health outlets in recent years.Typically coconut oil is refined, bleached, and deodorized using high heat. The bleach filters the oil to eliminate any impurities, and sodium hydroxide is used as a preservative and to get rid of excess fatty acids. Coconut oil typically has a long shelf life because its high saturated fat content prevents oxidation.    Coconut oil is the topic of hot debate - typically known for being fairly high in saturated fats. This can put it off-limits for some people trying to consume a low-fat diet plan. However, the benefits of coconut oil span much further than the detrimental effects of its saturated fat content - and not just in the digestive tract - it can be used in lots of different ways.In addition to being consumed as part of the diet, coconut oil can also be applied for health benefits in a lot of different ways. It can be used topically, as a lotion, it can be melted and inhaled as a vapor solution, it can be used as shampoo - the list goes on.Coconut oil is made by compressing the fats out of the white part of coconut flesh. It’s reputation for being high in saturated fat is not unjustified - around 84% of the calories in coconut oil are from saturated fat. This is incredibly high when compared to another organic oil like olive oil, which only contains 14% saturated fat. Even butter contains just over 60% saturated fat.How can a food high in saturated fat be healthy?Coconut oil has a huge range of health benefits. These span all across the board - coconut oil has been studied for its effects on preventing Alzheimer’s, heart disease, cholesterol buildup and blood pressure. It’s been studied for its ability to prevent kidney disease and inflammation, and for its defensive capabilities at fighting the development of cancer. How can one food - a food high in saturated fat, no less - be responsible for so many amazing health benefits?Well, first off, coconut oil’s saturated fats are mostly composed of medium-chain fatty acids. The most dangerous fatty acids are long-chain fatty acids. Certain types of long-chain fatty acids are known for contributing to heart disease - though some can be neutral. Most individuals these days consume far too many of the unhealthy long-chain fats, however, and this is largely what leads to heart disease. There are three main long-chain fatty acids:Myristic acid (coconut oil contains between 16 and 21%)Palmitic acidStearic acidMyristic and palmitic acid have been shown to increase LDL cholesterol. LDL cholesterol - this is important to know, because we will touch base on this later in the article - is short for low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. LDL cholesterol is highly reactive, and can oxidize easily, leading to heart disease, strokes, and an increased chance of cancer. Myristic acid was more potent in this regard and has a higher chance of increasing LDL cholesterol. Myristic acid is also rarely found in natural foods and is more likely to be obtained in junk food.Stearic acid has been shown to actually help balance cholesterol levels, and is the healthiest of the 3 long-chain fatty acids. In comparison, coconut oil’s primary fat constituents are medium-chain fatty acids, includingLauric acid (45 to 52%)Caprylic acid (5 to 10%)Capric acid (4 to 8%)The most common medium-chain fat in coconut oil is lauric acid, making up almost 75% of coconut oil’s fait content. Medium chain fatty acids are connected with a higher rate of weight loss - in fact, subjects in a study who replaced olive oil with coconut oil or palm oil were shown to lose weight at a much quicker rate. These medium-chain fatty acids have also been studied for their effic[...]

How to Squash Negative Thought Patterns:

Suppose you have the bad habit of dwelling too muchon the same negative thoughts.  And suppose there'sno outward physical manifestation associated to them. It's just negative thinking, like "I'm so depressed" or "I hatemy job" or "I can't do this" or "I hate being fat."  How do youbreak a bad habit when it's entirely in your mind? There are actually quite a number of ways to reconditiona negative thought pattern.  The basic idea is to replacethe old pattern with a new one.  Mentally resisting thenegative thought will usually backfire - you'll simplyreinforce it and make it even worse.  The more you firethose neurons in the same way, the stronger the patternbecomes. Here's a little method I use to break negative thoughtpatterns.  It's basically something I concocted from acombination of the swish pattern from NLP and amemory technique known as chaining.  I usually findthe swish pattern alone to be weak and ineffective, but this method works very well for me.Instead of trying to resist the negative thought pattern, you will redirect it.  Think of it like mental kung fu. Take the energy of the negative thought and rechannelit into a positive thought.  With a little mental conditioning, whenever the negative thought occurs, your mind willautomatically flow into the linked positive thought.  It'ssimilar to Pavlov's dogs learning to salivate when the bell rang. Here's how it works:Let's assume your negative thought is a subvocalization, meaning that it's like you hear a voice in your head thatsays something you want to change, like, "I'm an idiot."If the negative thought is visual (a mental image) orkinesthetic (a gut feeling), you can use a similar process. In many cases the thought will manifest as a combinationof all three (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic).Step 1:  Turn the negative thought into a mental image.Take that little voice, and turn it into a corresponding mentalpicture.  For example, if your thought is, "I'm an idiot," imagineyourself wearing a dunce cap, dressed very foolishly, andjumping around like a dork.  See yourself surrounded byother people all pointing at you while you shout, "I'm an idiot." The more you exaggerate the scene, the better. Imagine bright colors, lots of animation, rapid movement, and even sexual imagery if it helps you remember.  Rehearsethis scene over and over in your mind until you reach the pointwhere thinking the negative thought automatically brings upthis goofy imagery. If you have trouble visualizing, you can also do the abovein an auditory fashion.  Translate the negative thought intoa sound, such as a jingle that you sing.  Go through thesame process with sound instead of imagery.  It workseither way.  I happen to prefer the visual method though.Step 2:  Select an empowering replacement thought. Now decide what thought you'd like to have instead of thenegative one.  So if you've been thinking, "I'm an idiot," maybeyou'd like to replace that with "I'm brilliant."  Choose a thoughtthat empowers you in a way that disrupts the disempowering effect of the original negative thought.Step 3:  Turn the positive thought into a mental image. Now go through the same process you used in Step 1 tocreate a new mental scene from the positive thought.  Sowith the example "I'm brilliant," you might imagine yourselfstanding tall, posing like Superman with your hands onyour hips.  Picture a giant light bulb appearing just aboveyour head.  The bulb turns on so bright that it's blinding, andyou see yourself yelling, "I'm bbbbbrrrrilllllllliannnntttt!"  Again, keep rehearsing this scene until merely thinking the positiveline automatically brings up the associated imagery.Step 4:  Mentally chain the two images together. Now take the images in Step 1 and Step 3, and mentallyglue them togethe[...]

10 Psychology Studies Every Lover Should know:

“Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.” ~ Antoine de Saint-ExupéryFrom the initial moment of attraction to growing old together, here are 10 psychology studies that all lovers should know.1. Falling in love one-fifth of a secondIt takes a fifth-of-a-second for the euphoria-inducing chemicals to start acting on the brain when you are looking at that special someone.Brain imaging studies of love suggest that 12 different areas of the brain are involved. When looking or thinking about a loved one, these areas release a cocktail of neurotransmitters across the brain, including oxytocin, dopamine, vasopressin and adrenaline. The brain gets a similar ‘hit’ from love as it does from a small dose of cocaine.2. Brain map of  love and desireThe first study to look at the neural difference between love and sexual desire finds remarkable overlaps and distinct differences. The results showed that some strikingly similar brain networks were activated by love and sexual desire. The regions activated were those involved in emotion, motivation and higher level thoughts. This psychology of love suggests that sexual desire is more than just a basic emotion, but involves goal-directed motivation and the recruitment of more advanced thoughts.Love is built on top of these circuits, with one key area of difference being in the striatum. This area of the brain is typically associated with the balance between higher- and lower-level functions.3.Kissing helps us choose Two new studies of kissing have found that apart from being sexy, kissing also helps people choose partners–and keep them.In a survey, women in particular rated kissing as important, but more promiscuous members of both sexes rated kissing as a very important way of testing out a new mate. But kissing isn’t just important at the start of a relationship; it also has a role in maintaining a relationship. The researchers found a correlation between the amount of kissing that long-term partners did and the quality of their relationship. This link wasn’t seen between more sex and improved relationship satisfaction.4. Couples look more similar after 25 years togetherPeople who live with each other for 25 years may develop similar facial features. One study on the psychology of love has found that over 25 years of marriage the facial features of couples became more similar, as judged by independent observers. This may be because of similarities in diet, environment, personality or even a result of empathising with your partner over the years.5. Long distance relationships can workContrary to the received wisdom, long distance relationships can work, according to new research. Two factors that help keep long distance relationships alive are that these couples:Tell each other more intimate information.Have a more idealised view of their partner. As a result, those in long distance relationships often have similar levels of relationship satisfaction and stability as those who are geographically close to each other.6. Four things that kill a relationship stone deadFor over 40 years the psychologist Professor John Gottman has been analysing the psychology of love. He’s followed couples across decades in many psychological studies to see what kinds of behaviours predict whether they would stay together. There are four things that kills relationships stone dead: repeated criticism, lots of expressions of contempt like sarcasm, being defensive and stonewalling, which is when communication almost completely shuts down.7. Modern marriages demand self-fulfilmentThe face of marriage has changed significantly over the years, according to new research. It used to be more about providing safety and solidity, now people want psychological fulfilment from their marriages.More than ever people e[...]

2 Magic Words By Jason Mangrum:

Spiritual masters say that enlightenment can happen in an instant or like the blooming of a lotus flower. The same can be said of realizations, and learning. As you read a book on any subject you will have moments that you stop reading just long enough to say “Ah ha!” or “Wow, that’s how that works” or “that’s why that happens!” When you first look at a new math equation and it makes no sense, then later after you learn the process, you can look at the same equation again and you not only understand it you can solve it. The point I am trying to make is this: There is a point where something is gained from any knowledge. First you are ignorant, and then you inquire, next you realize, now you have the power of that knowledge and can apply it to your world. People will sell you courses and charge you thousands of dollars to beat around the bush and flush out the truth I am about to tell you. I have used this method that consists of only 2 words to create anything I want usually within 24 hours if not instantly. I have told these words to very few close friends, accompanied with the warning “Be careful what you wish for…” There is only one guideline when using these key words and I will get to that immediately after I tell you what these words are. All you have to do is know what you want to make this work. Then put it in this sentence: I Command – (Then just state whatever you want) I know it sounds too simple. Your disbelief in this might actually aid in its power. You remain detached from the outcome because it just sounds too easy “This couldn’t possibly work, I’ve tried everything” – your mind will say. Good. What can it hurt to seriously give this a try? “I Command” all day, everyday and I have come to realize the power I have over the outcome of my life. So have those I have told these words to through their own experiences with it. Of course your mind may just dismiss the acquisition of your desires as coincidental. But does it really matter? After all you got what you wanted and never worried about how. If you honestly begin to use this take into consideration that this command once made is not concerned about the how it will happen. The power will just take the shortest possible path to accomplishment. All things great and small are possible when you use the words “I Command”, but whatever they are be prepared. Of course you can always change what you want if you realize it’s not what you thought it would be. It is never too late in this world and nothing is final. The only thing constant in this world is change. You can either be conscious of your creating or dragged along oblivious to it. There is only one rule. One limitation and this is important if you truly want to apply this knowledge. “You cannot command something for or concerning someone else.” Such as: “I command so-and-so to fall in love with me” instead use- “I command my true love to make himself known to me” That’s it. These words are yet to fail and you can command anything within the realm of your imagination – nothing is impossible. All you have to do is command, and then look for the command to be fulfilled. Here are some examples from my experience and my close friends - “I command a good parking spot” Right around the next corner an open parking space right in front of the store. I went walking through the woods to a beautiful creek with my husband, my brother-in-law Jacob and his girlfriend Katie. All of whom had just learned the power of commands. It was getting dark and we were all walking back to the car. Suddenly a screeching thunder broke the silence of the night as an enormous rusty train parked on the tracks we had to cross to reach the car. Katie was frantic. We were trapped, on a trail in the woods, in the dark. The only thin[...]

The Importance Of Sleep by Dr. Kim D`Eramo

Of all the “miracle drugs” available to us, it’s amazing to see so many people missing out on the one that’s free to us all: sleep.Doctors all over the world are searching for the causes of diseases. However, anything that deprives the body of what it needs or contributes to what it does not need will lead to disease. With all we prescribe, and all that patients do to treat themselves, we overlook the importance of sleep.Do you know that when people are sleep-deprived they develop the same symptoms and pain patterns as patients with fibromyalgia? That’s because sleep is an essential process. Without it, we develop disease. Just a lack of sleep alone decreases nutrient absorption, alters hormone balance, confuses your thoughts, and increases tension in your muscles.Even if you eat the healthiest foods available, workout at the gym daily, and use the best medications, you still age faster, increase your pain levels, gain weight, and increase your cancer risk when you fail to get the required amount of sleep. Why do we tend to skimp on sleep? The number one reason my patients give me is time. “I don’t have enough time to get 8-9 hours of sleep a night.” Although they’re trying to increase productivity and fit more in, these patients dramatically reduce their productivity. It takes them twice as long to get things done. They also spend valuable time traveling to physical therapy or chiropractic appointments, and spend money on supplements and health foods trying to get more energy. These increased costs of self-care translate into less money in their pockets. My first prescription to end pain, reverse depression/anxiety, and lose weight? Add more sleep!Just this one simple change can add years to your life, double your productivity, lift your mood (enhancing your success and relationships), increase your fitness, decrease your weight, and improve your overall quality of life. (Think of getting the effect of an hour-long workout at your gym just by lying in bed!)So how do you carve out those extra hours? The first thing is focusing on sleep quality. Here are 5 strategies for making the change:1. Go down at 9.You probably think all sleep hours are equal. Not so. Any sleep you get before 10 p.m. has double the value for your body’s restorative process. That means for every one hour you go to bed before 10 p.m. it’s like sleeping in an extra two hours in the morning! This dramatically enhances your productivity level during the day, so you get twice as much done in half the time. (What would that be worth to you?!)2. Turn off the tube. The thoughts you have just before dozing off are food for your mind to churn over throughout the night. Do you watch violent TV, worry about your day, or chat online before tuning out? These all fire up your sympathetic nervous system (fight-or-flight response) and trigger hormones that make it difficult to sleep.Instead, read an inspiring book in the hour before sleep to relax your body and enhance the quality of your thoughts and dreams.3. Talk yourself to sleep.Your own words are immediately accepted by your mind as true. Take advantage of this to benefit your health and sleep. After my shifts at Grady Hospital (a busy trauma center in Atlanta’s inner city) I would stay up at night worrying about my patients, ordering chest x-rays and checking EKGs in my sleep. I learned to let my mind know I was done with work and turn it off so I could sleep calmly. I would exit the ER at night saying, “I’m finished and can let my patients go. There is nothing I need to do. Everything is taken care of for me and I can completely relax.” Once I started practicing this very short routine, I immediately slept in peac[...]

Top 9 Biggest Lies About Dietary Fat & Cholesterol:

Intro:The areas of nutrition and disease prevention are full of incompetence. We have been wrongly advised to avoid saturated fat and cholesterol, despite no evidence of harm. Here are the top 9 biggest lies, myths and misconceptions about dietary fat and cholesterol.1. A low fat, high carb diet is the optimal human dietBack in 60s and 70s, many prominent scientists believed that saturated fat was the main cause of heart disease, by raising the “bad” cholesterol in the blood. This idea was the cornerstone of the low-fat diet.Because of a few bad studies and misguided political decisions, this diet was recommended to all Americans in the year 1977 (1).However, there wasn’t a single study on this diet at the time. The American public became participants in the largest uncontrolled experiment in history. This experiment didn’t turn out very well and we are still suffering the consequences. This graph shows how the obesity epidemic started at almost the exact same time the low-fat guidelines came out (2): The diabetes epidemic followed soon after.Of course, a graph like this doesn’t prove anything. Correlation does not equal causation. But it seems plausible that the low-fat recommendations made things worse because people started eating less of healthy foods like meat, butter and eggs, while eating more processed foods high in sugar and refined carbohydrates.Even though there was little evidence at the time, the low-fat diet has actually been thoroughly studied in the past few years and decades. It was put to the test in the biggest controlled trial in nutrition history, the Women’s Health Initiative. In this study, 48,835 postmenopausal women were split into two groups. One group ate a low-fat diet (with the whole grains and all that) while the other group continued to eat “normally.”After a period of 7.5-8 years, the low-fat group weighed only 0.4 kg (1 lb) less than the control group and there was no difference in the rate of heart disease or cancer between groups (3, 4, 5, 6).Other huge studies also found no advantages for the low-fat diet (7, 8, 9).But it doesn’t end there, unfortunately… the low-fat diet recommended by most nutrition organizations is not only ineffective, it may even be downright harmful. In multiple human studies, the low-fat diet has actually made some important risk factors worse, raising triglycerides, lowering HDL (the good) cholesterol and making the LDL particles smaller (10, 11, 12, 13).Despite miserable results in the studies, many nutritionists all over the world continue to recommend the low-fat diet that is hurting more people than it helps.Bottom Line: There is no evidence that low-fat diets have any benefits. They do not cause weight loss in the long-term or reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Some studies show that they may even cause harm.2. Cholesterol rich foods (like eggs) are bad for youNutrition professionals have had remarkable success with demonizing perfectly healthy foods.Probably the worst example of that is eggs, which are among the healthiest foods on the planet.Just think about it… the nutrients in an egg are enough to turn a single fertilized cell into an entire baby chicken.Even so… because eggs contain large amounts of cholesterol, they were believed to cause heart disease. However, studies actually show that the cholesterol in the diet does NOT raise the bad cholesterol in the blood. Eggs raise HDL (the good) cholesterol and are not associated with an increased risk of heart disease (14, 15, 16, 17, 18).What we’re left with is an incredibly healthy food… loaded with vitamins, minerals and powerful nutrients that are important for the eyes and brain (19, 20, 21).Keep in mind that almost all the nutrients are found in the yolk… the white is nothin[...]

The Power Of Your Pineal Gland:

Did you know that the very center of your brain is home to a raisin-sized gland that just might be the key to the Universe? Your pineal gland is a tiny organ (yep, about the size of a raisin) located at the very center of your cranium. Despite its small size, the role it plays in your spiritual evolution is more important than any other single part of your body.Want proof? Consider this: Your pineal receives more blood flow per cubic area than any other gland in your body. In other words, compared to all your other organs – including your lungs, your heart and your brain – this tiny little gland gets the highest concentration of energy.*The Insomniac’s Problem ChildYour pineal gland is super-sensitive to light. In fact, it’s the key player in your sleep and waking cycles. Here’s why: when light strikes the retina of your eyes, it travels through a tiny nerve system and into the gland. When the lights go off (like at night) it sends a signal to the pineal to begin secreting melatonin, which activates your nervous system to go into sleep mode.Of course, that’s when everything is working, right …When your pineal gland is compromised, it doesn’t necessarily work when you need it to. This is why I call it the insomniac’s ‘problem child’. Did you know that today, more than 30% of the population in the US suffers from insomnia? And while stress plays a major role here, we can’t ignore the fact that a compromised pineal gland (which most Americans have, as you’ll see below) doesn’t produce melatonin the way it’s supposed to. Your Mind’s Eye – it’s Real!In the ancient Vedic energy system of the chakras, the pineal gland is referred to as ‘Ajna’ or ‘3rd Eye’ chakra. This is because the ancients knew that, in fact, the pineal gland functions very much like an eye—an inner eye.Modern studies reveal that the gland’s watery interior contains rods and cones—just like those found in the retina of your eyes! That’s right, your ‘3rd eye’ has a structure remarkably similar to your two physical ones. This is why when you visualize something strongly enough, you can literally see it “in your mind’s eye.”Blocking your Trans-Dimensional PortalWith these proven properties: high blood flow, a connection to your sleep cycles, and retinal-like rods and cones, the pineal gland obviously plays an important role in your overall well-being. Unfortunately for most of us, this gland is atrophied, dormant and calcified to the point of uselessness. Why is this? Research reveals another fascinating tidbit about your pineal gland: it secretes a substance called Dimethyltryptamine (DMT). DMT is a hallucinatory substance that is also found in the South American shamanic brew called Ayahuasca. The interesting thing about DMT is that it induces experiences that can take you well beyond common states of awareness. In fact, it can unleash your dormant ‘super powers’ and enable you to access a higher consciousness. One definition describes the effects of DMT this way: “Profound time dilation, time travel, journeys to paranormal realms, encounters with spiritual beings or other mystical/ trans-dimensional modalities.”“Locked In” to 3-D?In other words, your pineal is, in part anyway, designed for trans-dimensional access. But when it’s calcified, it keeps you literally ‘locked in’ to this 3rd dimensional reality. You are literally blocked from your ‘super powers’ and potential as a higher-conscious being. For most of us, our pineal becomes dormant early in life. This is due to a number of factors, but it’s primarily caused by toxins, which calcify the liquid within the gland.[...]

The #1 Worst Food That Causes Faster Aging!

Do you eat these foods that HARM your blood sugar and age your joints and skin faster?  Some are even deceptively marketed to you as "healthy" by giant food corporations.  Avoid or minimize these and look 5-10 years YOUNGER than your real Mike Geary - Certified Nutrition Specialist& Catherine Ebeling - RN, to biochemical reactions in your body that occur with every type of food you eat on a daily basis, some foods age you FASTER than your real age, while other foods help to FIGHT aging.Eat the wrong foods regularly, and you can look and feel 10 or more years OLDER than your real age (not fun!) ... but eat the right foods, and over time, you can start to look 5-10 years YOUNGER than your real age.Three of the processes that go on inside your body that have a MAJOR impact on your rate of aging are called "glycation", "inflammation", and "oxidation".  When we talk about aging, we're not just talking about wrinkles on your skin or how thick your hair is... we're also talking about factors that you can't see, such as how well your organs function, and whether your joints are degrading.Yes, I'm sure you'll agree this is much more important than just how you look superficially (although we'll show you how to improve BOTH!) With the title of this article, you might have guessed that obvious s answers like sugar or trans fat would be what we talk about in this article.  Yes, those are bad, but I want to discuss another food that ages your body faster than normal... and it's one that you might not expect! So let's dig right in and I'll show you how your rate of aging can be directly related to the foods you might eat every day, and how to protect yourself...The #1 WORST food that ages you faster:Wheat based foods (yes, even "whole wheat")Before I tell you why wheat can actually speed up the aging process in your body, let's clarify some simple biochemistry in your body...This deals with "glycation" in your body, and substances called Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs).  These nasty little compounds called AGEs speed up the aging process in your body including damage over time to your organs, your joints, and of course, wrinkled skin.So with that said, what is one of the biggest factors that increase production of AGEs inside your body?  This may surprise you, but high blood sugar levels over time dramatically increase age-accelerating AGEs in your body.  This is why type 2 diabetics many times appear that they have not aged well and look older than their real age.  But this age-increasing effect is not just limited to diabetics. So, let's get back to how "whole wheat" relates to this...Here is a little-known fact that's often covered up by the massive marketing campaigns by giant food companies that want you to believe that "whole wheat" is healthy for you... but the fact is that wheat contains a very unusual type of carbohydrate (not found in other foods) called Amylopectin-A, which has been found in some tests to spike your blood sugar higher than even pure table sugar. In fact, amylopectin-A (from wheat) raises your blood sugar more than almost any other carbohydrate source on earth based on blood sugar response testing. This means that wheat-based foods such as breads, bagels, cereals, muffins, and other baked goods often cause much higher blood sugar levels than most other carbohydrate sources.  As you know now, the higher your average blood sugar levels are over time, the more AGEs are formed inside your body, which makes you age FASTER.You've probably heard about the potential health-damaging effects of gluten (also found[...]

Burn Body Fat Faster With These 2 Tips!

Burn Body Fat Faster With These 2 Tips! Our bodies can actually burn up to 50% or more fat everyday by adding in a couple of specific daily practices. It’s really as simple as knowing EXACTLY what to do to “turn up” our body’s metabolic fire power.Your body’s metabolism is regulated by a powerful gland in your endocrine system known as you thyroid gland. Now the common misconception is that your thyroid is just a single gland, when in fact it’s more like a container that holds several thousands of tiny glands.  Your thyroid is located at the base of your neck, and it is the most negatively charged gland in your body (this is a GOOD thing, it keeps your energy high).  But the key here is knowing that when this gland gets congested, then the energy and fat-burning power that you have is dramatically reduced. Here are 2 quick things you can do to up-level the functioning of your thyroid gland.#1 Eat Coconut Oil.  Raw organic coconut oil is like a thyroid tonic.  The incredible essential fats that are found in coconut oil are excellent building blocks for your hormones.  Coconut oil contains a rare medium chain essential fatty acid known as lauric acid, which is proven to be a powerhouse thyroid booster. To get the greatest benefit, take one tablespoon of coconut oil straight with a pinch of high quality salt.  Chew it up well so that your saliva can split the glycerol molecule, so that you get instant uptake of the nutrients.  Do this twice a day in between meals to supercharge your metabolism and to get an instant energy source.  Or you can also add a tbsp to your shake recipes, make fresh salad dressings, or use coconut oil to make new desserts and entrees.#2 Rebound.  Your thyroid is actually the most vascularized part of your entire body.  This is a great thing when your system is clean and healthy, but not such a great thing if your blood flow is weak and sluggish.  The key solution for this: Get Your Blood Pumping!  Truly, any exercise done intelligently is beneficial, but the the virtual antidote for dealing with a sluggish thyroid gland is rebounding. Rebounding is using a scientifically designed “mini-trampoline” to literally exercise every cell in your entire body.  Rebounding provides an increased G-Force (gravitational load) which strengthens your entire musculoskeletal system like nothing else can.  Rebounding circulates more blood and oxygen to your tissues, it makes your waist smaller, makes you more compact, but strong, and it is a great daily practice to add-in.Start with 10 minutes a day, and work your way up to 30.  It’s great to do this first thing in the morning.  If you are in pretty good shape, then getting a great bounce going of about 4 inches high is perfect.  If you are just starting off, and not in very good shape yet, then rebounding is perfect for you too.  Start with what is known as a “health bounce”, where you keep your feet on the rebounder the entire time, but drive yourself up and down, and keep this nice rhythmic pace going for 10 to 15 minutes. If you don’t have your rebounder yet, you can pick yours up right here:Top Ranked RebounderAgain, any exercise done intelligently is beneficial, but rebounding trains your cells to work more efficiently, radically enhances the function of your lymphatic system (to remove toxins and blockages in your energy), and it’s a really simple method for supercharging your metabolism everyday once you have this technology in your hands.Add these two tips together, and take advantage to[...]

Take Coconut Oil and Lose Fat

My StorySurprise Fat Loss!I’ve recently added organic extra virgin coconut oil into my life, using it for all sorts of purposes external and internal. It’s not only angel-food delicious, but I’d heard that it’s extremely healthy. So, for a couple of weeks I stumbled into replacing butter with coconut oil. I also glimpsed at a blog that recommended adding some to my black coffee, especially during times of intermittent fasting. I started doing that, too.I wasn’t sure at first if I was imagining things, but, like most women, I have laser sharp attention to my body. I know when it’s even thinking of adding a centimeter to my waist. Being a dancer and a runner, I’m also super sensitive to changes in my physical energy. Here’s what I observed:Loss of Abdominal FatFirst, I began to suspect that I was shrinking. My tummy was looking slightly more flat, my waist a little deeper; yet, I wasn’t in any way going hungry, and my energy level was great.Less HungryThen I noticed that my appetite had changed. I still ate good hearty meals, but overall I was eating less. The satisfied “full” signal literally got stronger. Once I’d had enough to eat, I was totally done and no matter how yummy the morsel, couldn’t force another spoonful.Ate Fewer Carbs/SugarsOn top of that, I noticed that the cookies in my cupboard were suddenly lasting a lot longer, meaning, they weren’t being eaten. I wasn’t having sugar cravings. The Lab StoryAs it turns out, all three of these effects I was experiencing have been studied and observed in science labs. Here’s the skinny on the good fat. Healthy Saturated FatsIt’s true that coconut oil is a saturated fat. Although these fats have long suffered a bad rap, evidence now confirms that not all saturated fats are created equally.Whereas saturated fats from beef and bacon are long chain triglycerides (LCTs), which easily stack causing high cholesterol in the blood (dyslipidemia) and potentially leading to heart disease; the saturated fat in coconut oil is a medium chain triglyceride (MCT), made up of medium chain fatty acids (MCFA). Research has shown that MCTs act much differently in the body than LCTs. They’re metabolized differently. They don’t stack up to clog arteries. They don’t cause a spike in blood lipid levels. When it comes to metabolism, digestion and fat loss, this separates the thick from the thin. Here’s why.MCT: Faster, More Efficient Fat OxidationThe term “fat oxidation” describes the process of utilizing and burning fat as fuel for the body. When you work out to burn fat, you could also say you’re working out to “oxidize” fat. LCT are not directly absorbed and ready for oxidation, but more readily incorporated into adipose tissue for storage and later usage. This is the sort of fat that can make you fat and lead to heart disease.MCT, on the other hand, is rapidly transported into the liver for oxidation. It’s not slow to burn and quick to store like LCT, but efficiently metabolized and used as energy. As compared to LCT, MCT accelerates fat oxidation and increases energy expenditure, even at rest. Thus, it causes you to burn and not collect fat, and leaves you feeling more zippy.MCT: Less Appetite, More Weight LossIt also makes you eat less.Several clinical trials have shown that subjects fed a high MCT diet consumed significantly fewer energy/calories overall per day than those fed a diet high in LCT. This indicates that the MCT we find in coconut oil assists in weight loss by making you more satisfied with less food and fewer calories.A study in 2003 examined 19 overweight men to observe fat-burning activity as a result of MCT compared to [...]

10 Foods You Must Avoid To Be Healthy:

There are some foods that you should definitely avoid if you want to be healthy, because they provide absolutely no health benefits while actually increasing your risk of disease, obesity and more. If you care about your health in the future you should stay away from the ten foods listed below at all costs.White Bread – White bread contains refined flour, which gets bleached with chlorine and treated with bromide. These processes strip almost all the nutrients and fiber from the flour, causing your body to not know how to digest it. This is the main reason that white bread is often called an “empty food” because it contains only starch, which your body turns into sugar and fat.Frozen Dinners – Many makers of frozen dinners tout them as good for you because they limit portion size and often have lower fat content than normal meals. The problem is that most of the time the tasty fats are replaced with other things that are just as bad or worse for you, such as sugar and especially salt. Plus, advertising a meal as low-fat is deceiving. If a meal only has 250 calories and five grams of saturated fat, then the ratio of fat to food is still very high. Sausage and Other Cured Meats - Sausage, cured meats and even hot dogs have been linked to cancer, disease, migraines, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure because of the harmful nitrates they contain. They are also incredibly high in saturated fats that can lead to heart attacks. Shockingly, government regulations state that fresh pork sausage can be made up of 50 percent fat by weight. One ounce of the average fresh pork sausage contains 3 grams of saturated fat, which is 13 percent of your daily allowance. Smoothies - The idea behind the smoothie is good, because in theory it only contains fruit and low-fat milk. The problem is that most places that serve these drinks offer very large sizes and they combine the healthy ingredients with ice cream, sugar, and other high-calorie items. This often means that even a small smoothie can be over 500 calories which is way more than any 16-ounce drink should have. If you’re craving a smoothie, then make it at home with some fresh organic fruit and a little non-fat unsweetened yogurt.Reduced Fat Peanut ButterReduced fat peanut butter – While most people think of reduced fat foods as being better for you than their unmodified brothers, the fact is that they are often worse for you. The makers of reduced fat peanut butter need to replace the fat they take out with something, and in this case it’s loads of extra sugar which the body turns into fat anyway. The fat and protein in regular peanut butter are actually incredibly good for you, so stick with the real thing.Energy Drinks – Energy drinks are marketed as healthy drinks that are fortified with vitamins and minerals. It is true that many of them contain added vitamins such as B6 and B12, but the body does not process fortified vitamins the same way it does natural ones. The other problem with these drinks is that they have incredibly high sugar content, often as much as a soda or a slice of pie. A can of Red Bull contains 26 grams of sugar, which is more by volume than a Coke or Pepsi.Margarine - Butter is not as bad for you as the media would have you believe. Saturated fats are actually necessary for healthy bodily function, especially in moderation. Margarine is hydrogenated trans-fat oil that’s used as an ingredient in thousands of different products, but it is something that’s incredibly bad for you and should be avoided if at all possible. If you want to avoid animal fats completely, cook with olive oil.Microwave Popcorn [...]

How Colours Effect You by Esse Johnson

“Color contains the energy of the sun.” This quote from Veden Akademie conveys that color is not empty, but full; not simply eye candy, but ultimately nutrient rich, like sunlight. Through the centuries, Ayurvedic doctors have prescribed sunlight to treat certain sicknesses. People have long-studied light and color as healing agents, calling it chromotherapy, colorology or, now, color psychology. Modern “chromotherapists” recommend adding colored light to your bath to help balance your emotions and promote healing, a technology known as Hydro Chromo Therapy. Advertisers have also used light and color for generations to compel you to buy their products. Want to know how they do it?A Brief American History of ColorologyNo doubt, people have known about the effects of color on human behavior and health for thousands of years. Nonetheless, the modern western world saw a boom of interest back in 1982, when Harry Wohlfarth and Catherine Sam released an astounding study. They found that the colors and lighting in an environment significantly affected “neurochemical and hormonal changes,” both in normal and blind children. The brighter and busier the color spectrum was, the more aggressive the kids’ behavior. Conversely, the kids had lower blood pressure and were more relaxed in a room with “cooler” colors. That blind children were equally affected supports the view that it’s not just what we sense with our eyes, but the vibration of light and color that stimulates us even at very cellular level. While it’s true that we have subjective responses to colors which takes past experiences and ethnic culture into account, studies have shown that some responses are prevalent particularly from within a certain culture. Today businesses employ effective strategies using color to evoke emotions and even hunger to influence how you eat, think and spend your money.Color SellsAccording to years of research, including the analytics of an Ecommerce “intelligence” service called KISSmetrics, this is a simple science. Sellers can actually target personality types using pigments, not only attracting you to choose their product but, in the first place, making you feel like you need it.Red is risky because it can invoke caution, fear or even anger and aggression, so it’s used carefully in marketing. Strategists use fire-engine red effectively to promote a sense of urgency, as in “act now” ads or to warn you against a competitor. A cooler red such as burgundy will inspire sensuality and suggest luxury. Red also helps to increase appetite and actually raises your metabolism.Orange attracts kids and incites creativity. Sellers use it coupled with neutral white and brown tones to invoke a sense of safety and reliability such as with Home Depot. Bright orange alone is used for call-to-action. If you’re an impulse buyer, this color targets you. You’ll find it in fast food joints and on clearance sale tags. Interestingly, ING, the financial institution offering savings and investment accounts, juxtaposes enterprising orange with secure blue.Yellow stimulates hunger, so it’s no surprise that a certain fast food giant capitalizes on “the golden arches,” and constructs entire buildings largely decorated in yellow. It’s also associated with youth and optimism, cheer, excitement and sunshine. The idea of course is, buy this, be happy.Blue is cool. It gives a sense of security and safety. Think: banks and insurance companies.Green is now largely associated with energy conservation and environme[...]

Paintings Of Sonia Del Signore:

Sonia was born in the spring of 1965, in the medieval town of Annecy, France. She was raised in Italy until, at the age of 13, she and her family emigrated to Montreal, where she lives to this day.As a little girl in Italy, she painted in the studio of her famous father, artist Littorio Del Signore, experimenting in different media and gaining experience under his watchful eye. This was a formative period in her life, and, though it was playful at the time, she was developing a passion that would not blossom until much later. Her life path led her to study Fine Arts and later Fashion Design at LaSalle College. After graduation, she embarked upon a 13-year career in Fashion Design. But in 1999, realizing that time waits for no one, she decided to dedicate her life to pursuing her deepest passion: painting. Sonia’s style is very personal. It is inspired by modern art (particularly Fauvism) and, although figurative, her work embraces many of the fundamental elements of abstraction. It is imbued with vivid and exotic colors, and her figures are striking in their sensual expressions.Sonia describes her art as a “window to her ever-romantic soul,” which “celebrates love, beauty and serenity, and through that, celebrates life itself.”For more of Sonia’s amazing art please visit: www.soniadelsignore.comArtist Statement“My inspiration derives from my infatuation ofcontemporary sensualityand modern romance.I paint nostalgic beauty to create mystery.I use vibrant fluid colors and inviting light to embracethe viewer into my world, and to reflect who I am as a woman. Each painting is an enlightening exploration. An adventure into my imagination.A window to my ever-romantic soul. They are rêveries, visions of an ideal world of mystery, poetic eleganceand beauty.I believe that the only real truth in a work of artlies in its poetic imagination.”-Sonia Del SignoreAwake Inside a Dream**Love and Serenity**Villa Toscana**Sublime Elegance**Luna-Sanctum**Silent Lucidity**Dolce Luna**Tangerine Silk[...]

For once the advertisements are very close to the truth. These great tasting red berries offer a cornucopia of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and amino acids that our bodies need. They have long been a part of the diet of people living in Tibet and Mongolia where they grow naturally. It may be difficult to believe but these luscious berries contain more vitamin C than the same amount of orange. As if that weren’t enough they also contain vitamins A, E, B1, B6, and B2.They have 21 trace minerals and 18 amino acids as well as protein. You could almost live on these by themselves. What interests us the most though is the fact that they also contain five types of carotenoids that are vital to the health of your eyes. Persimmons contain lutein, lycopene, vitamin A, beta carotene, zeaxanthin, and cryptoxanthin. All these big words have one thing in common; they are natural enemies of the free radicals that are derived from oxygen. These free radicals contribute to aging and disease. Many, if not all, antioxidants help to rid our bodies of free radicals that can have an adverse affect on our eyes.Persimmons are another good source of vitamin C which has been shown to be very beneficial to eye health. Our bodies can’t store vitamin C so it is even more important to have good sources of this vitamin in our daily diet. This fruit provides one alternative for people who really don’t care for citrus juices. Some people have problems with citrus fruits because of the acid levels they contain.Studies have shown that vitamin C helps to reduce your risk of developing cataracts, delays macular degeneration, and aids in relieving eye-pressure in glaucoma patients. You can see why it is especially important to get your daily dose of vitamin C!KiwisThese fuzzy brown fruits don’t look all that appealing from the outside. While its visual appeal may be lacking, it is a must have in your diet for good eye health. This small fuzzy fruit offers more nutrition per ounce than many of the fruits we commonly eat.Along with the vitamin C that you probably expected, these small fruits are a rich source of copper, manganese, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin E, and dietary fiber.Don’t let the outside fool you, the best part of this fruit is found when you cut it open. This fruit can be added to almost any type of fruit salad or added to a tossed salad for some extra taste. The light green flesh of the fruit offers a sweet and sour appeal to your tongue but the real star is the small black seeds inside. These small black seeds can be crushed to produce oil that contains omega-3 fatty acids that help to protect our bodies from free radicals caused by pollution and ultraviolet rays.Chia SeedsYes, these really are the same seeds used for the Chia pets you’ve laughed at on television advertisements. These amazing seeds contain more potassium than a banana, more antioxidants than blueberries, and are rich in vitamins and minerals that are essential to good eye health.Added to that they a[...]

Have you ever considered taking steroids to get the perfect body?In recent years, media coverage exposing steroid use in professional sports has highlighted the widespread demand for that extra edge to build muscle, get stronger, and look better.Steroids, although effective, are unhealthful and illegal to use without a prescription. Millions of dollars have been spent in sports medicine research to find a completely safe, natural alternative that produces the same results.Years of research now suggest that nitric oxide supplements may maximize your muscle gains. In fact, the launch of one specific nitric oxide supplement called Force Factor in 2009 revolutionized the sports nutrition industry.Today, the team behind Force Factor claims to have done it again – discovering a new nitric oxide pathway for even better workouts and even more dramatic results. The new product is called Factor 2 and is quickly gaining popularity with pro athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Athletes like professional football player Vernon Davis, are just now discovering the dramatic benefits of using a nitric oxide supplement. Davis has been an advocate of Factor 2 since first taking it, telling his teammates in San Francisco, "Factor 2 has proven results. I believe in results."The Science Behind Nitric Oxide Your body naturally produces nitric oxide to move oxygen to your muscles while you exercise. This burst of oxygen keeps your muscles functioning while you lift weights or blast through your cardio sessions. Unfortunately, your body can only generate a limited amount of nitric oxide. When the nitric oxide runs out, your muscles can no longer power through the exercise, no matter how much mental determination you have. Taking a nitric oxide supplement 30 minutes before you work out could be the push your body needs to add weight to your bench press or run that extra mile. This increased stamina can result in longer, harder workouts and a healthier, stronger body in less time. Suggested Benefits of Nitric Oxide Supplements Drastic Muscle GainsIncreased Blood Flow and Oxygen DeliveryBoosted Strength, Endurance, and PowerSupport for Your Immune SystemImmediate ResultsTotal Body TransformationSince its launch in 2009, Force Factor has enjoyed skyrocketing success, winning honors like GNC’s "Rising Star" award and’s "Best New Brand" award while transforming the bodies of thousands of men and women throughout the U.S. Today, they’ve improved upon their original, groundbreaking formula and have released the most advanced nitric oxide supplement on the market: Factor 2. According to the manufacturer, Factor 2 has set a new standard for nitric oxide supplements with a superior pathway to increasing your body’s level of nitric oxide naturally. With a heightened release, Factor 2 is suggested to provide a powerful workout experience and results that go above and beyond the competition. Professional basketball superstars, football players, and powerlifters have all said that Factor 2 works for them. Will you continue to struggle at the gym, or will you take this opportunity to finally make a change? How To Lose Weight:

More than one-third of adults in the United States are obese. In fact, the furor over obesity, which some have termed an “epidemic,” has reached such proportions that one big-city mayor has gone about banning large-sized, sugary soft drinks and the First Lady has been on a crusade to control the dietary offerings in public schools. Even many adults who do not fit the clinic definition of obese are still overweight, and a large percentage are looking for the best ways to lose weight.Shedding pounds largely comes down to the two-pronged factors of diet and exercise. Not modifying the first one enough, and not getting enough of the second one, ends up giving the individual a recipe for being overweight. Conditions related to obesity include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer, according to the Cen for Disease Control and Prevention might be the simplest advice possible, but it’s also, partially, an oversimplification. When it comes to diet, no one needs to starve themselves in order to lose weight. It has more to do with the types of food you eat than how much you eat. Reduce the amount of red meat in your diet. If you don’t want to eliminate red meat altogether, choose cuts of meat with less fat content. Limit your intake of salt and starches. If you’ve got to have potato chips alongside your sandwich at lunch, opt for the baked potato chips that are less greasy and contain less fat than the deep-fried chips. You might find you’re really not sacrificing that much in terms of taste.A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, egg whites, skinless poultry, fish and nonfat dairy products will certainly aid in the mission of losing weight. Drink more water and less sugary drinks. If you have to have a soda, a diet soda is a better option, but seltzer is an even better choice than that.In terms of exercise, it’s important—if not always easy—to make sure you get at least some physical activity each and every day. Cardio and strength training burn lots of calories. If your feet or your stamina level won’t allow for a regular jogging regimen, then make sure you take lots of walks. Next time you need to mail a letter, walk to the mailbox instead of driving. Try to work in a daily walk in your neighbourhood. And if you intend on more rigorous, formal exercising at the gym or fitness centre, be sure to pace yourself and don’t build up to an overly ambitious workout agenda too quickly. There are thousands of diet fads among us.  However, sometimes the best advice is common sense.  Work towards a healthy diet and integrate regular exercise.  You would be surprised at the results small changes can make.Source:[...]

Th Seven Universal Principles:

Ever since The Law of Attraction was brought to the attention of humanity, especially since the excellent "The Secret" movie which almost everyone will have heard of by now, various people it seems have been inventing new "laws" which in reality simply do not exist. It almost seems there is a "law" for almost everything these days according to the people who invented them for whatever reason.First of all even the word "law" is somewhat erroneous. "Law", although technically can be used in this context, usually implies something that is authoritative, and must be obeyed for fear of some sort of retribution, as with the laws of a country. The more correct word in the context of these Universal fundamentals is "Principle" - the word that has always been used in esoteric and occult circles, by "mystery schools" etc.In addition, "The Law of Attraction" is not actually one of the seven Universal Principles in and of itself, rather being a subset of other primary Universal Principles such as "Cause and Effect" and "Correspondence".This week therefore we will take a closer look at the seven primary and fundamental Universal Principles that really are "Principle" to the workings of the Universe to which we are all subjected. These Principles are listed in no particular order of importance:The Principle of MentalismThis Principle embodies the truth that the entire Universe is an infinite living Mind, Universal Mind, and Consciousness, of which everything and everyone is an integral aspect. Everything in the Universe in all of its dimensions or spheres exists within the infinite living Universal Mind, and this living Mind, in which we live and move and have our Being might truly be called "God", The First Cause, or Source Energy. This Principle fully explains and accounts for all of the so called "phenomena" which people regard as "miracles", "supernatural" or "paranormal", abilities such as psychic powers, telepathy, telekinesis and many others. This Principle of Mentalism also explains the true nature of Energy, power and matter, and why these are ultimately under the control of, and subordinate to the power of, the Mind. Mentalism or infinite living Mind explains why we, as humans, made in the "image of God", can create mentally in the Microcosm just as God, The Source, The First Cause, The All, Universal Mind created the entire Universe, the MacrocosmThe Principle of CorrespondenceThis is another extremely important Universal Principle, teaching there is direct correspondence between all planes of reality. As we will discuss later in this book, the material universe of matter is but the very lowest plane, realm or dimension of an infinite Universe of ever more subtle planes of Energy of increasing vibration and decreasing relative density. Everything in the entire Universe, without exception is subject to Divine order, otherwise, there would be chaos, and the Universe would collapse in an instant. This Divine order is prevalent between all of the great planes of life because anything which occurs on one plane will be reflected [...]
