Supermodel Heidi Klum is coming up with an absolutely lip-smacking coffee-table book featuring some of the ‘naughty’ and ‘nude’ images taken by renowned photographer Rankin, who, Heidi says, has a way of inspiring her to drop all her clothes.

“It’s (the book) very naughty. I’ve been shooting with Rankin, for seven years and working with him is fun because he always makes me look different,” contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.

Revealing how Rankin always convinces her to go nude, Heidi said: “He always gets me to take my clothes off for some reason. We’ll do some job and then he’ll say, ‘Why don’t we shoot some more things?’ and I’ll wind up without anything on.”

Titled ‘Rankin’s Heidilicious’, the tome will have images from the times Rankin has shot Heidi in the last seven years. The book is due to hit stores in October.

Using only Chinese models on a circular runway similar to one used at Milan events, Versace chose one of Beijing's most fashionable new addresses for the show, the Legation Quarter, home to the U.S. embassy in the final days of imperial China.

"What appeals to me is the energy in China, especially in this city Beijing. There are a lot of young people, creative people, a lot of art -- it's very inspiring," design head and vice president Donatella Versace told Reuters.

"Chinese people like luxury brands," added Donatella, looking resplendent in a shimmering, figure-hugging black dress and towering black stiletto shoes. Versace displayed its spring/summer 2009 collection at the show, which had previously debuted in Milan, in front of an elite audience of socialites, executives and celebrities, including Chinese and Hollywood action star Jet Li.

Donatella said she would like to make China a regular stop on Versace's fashion show calendar. "If the economic crisis permits, yes I'll come every year," she told reporters ahead of the show. "I have to say that doing it here in Beijing has been amazing because of the enthusiasm," Donatella added. "I think the Chinese people love fashion -- that's what I can feel." Milan Fashion Week has been branded a "circus without sense" by Dolce & Gabbana amid fears that it rapidly falling behind Paris and London as a vital destination on the haute couture circuit. Long delays, chaotic organisation and unseemly catfights led to this year's edition of Italy's most prestigious fashion showcase, which finishes today, being roundly attacked.

The trouble started when some leading designers started to reschedule their catwalk shows earlier in the week because of fears that influential fashion editors would leave Milan before the end of the event.

Anna Wintour, the editor of American Vogue, said she had requested Armani, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana to shift their shows so that she could return to America before Paris Fashion Week begins next Tuesday. As a result, a logjam of catwalk shows at the beginning of the week caused havoc.

Over 95 labels show off their creations at fashion week in 103 catwalk shows. "Instead of one week's worth of shows, most of the important ones were crammed into three days," said Marina Garzoni, the founder of Fashion and Technology, a fashion consultant.

"We just had to run across town, the calender was very congested and made no sense," she added. Many designers, led by Dolce & Gabbana, expressed their fears that Milan Fashion Week will get a poor reputation and will be neglected in future. However, Roberto Cavalli blamed the fashion editors. He said: "If we take our advertising out of their newspapers, you'll see that they'll come here not just for one day of Italian fashion but for all ten.

Madrid Bans Waifs from Catwalks

Madrid fashion week, one of Spain's most prestigious shows, is banning underweight models on the basis of their body mass index (BMI). UN health experts recommend a BMI of between 18.5 and about 25, and some models may fall well below the minimum.

The Spanish Association of Fashion Designers has decided to ban models who have a BMI of less than 18. Unhealthily skinny models at last year's fashion shows led to protests from doctors and women's rights groups.

The association agreed to use the BMI - a calculation based on height and weight - in response to local government pressure. It suggests that 30% of would-be participants fail this test and this year's fashion week, which begins on 18 September, will offer medical treatment to excessively thin models.

Tom Ford fashions cast for feature foray

Fashion designer Tom Ford is getting the cast in place for his long-awaited move into features.

Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode are set to star in "A Single Man," Ford's adaptation of the Christopher Isherwood novel. Published in 1964, the novel centers on a gay man who, after the sudden death of his partner, is determined to persist in his usual routine, which is seen in the span of a single, ordinary day in southern California.

Firth is the gay man, an Englishman and professor who feels like an outsider in Los Angeles. Goode is the boyfriend who dies in a car accident and appears in flashbacks. Moore plays a friend of the professor. Ford adapted the screenplay for the independently financed project with David Scearce. A Monday start date is being eyed.

Ford rose to the top of the fashion world with a 10-year run at Gucci, a period that turned around the fortunes of the fashion house. He stepped down in 2004, signing on with CAA with the aim to slide into the director's chair.

New York – Prince didn't say a word - nor did he sing - at Fashion Group International's annual Night of Stars on Thursday, Oct. 23, but he did function as arm candy for Jennifer Lopez on stage as she introduced the evening's big honoree, Donatella Versace, who took home the "Superstar" award.

Lopez may have done all the talking, but when Versace came out to accept her award (a few seconds too early - the Prince song that was supposed to play as she made her entrance started late), she made sure to thank Prince for "being a superstar."

But Versace's timing gaffe wasn't an isolated incident - after a lengthy back and forth between friends Philippe Starck and Christian Louboutin, who both picked up awards (Starck for architecture and Louboutin as a "Star Honoree") - the announcer accidentally introduced presenter Ashley Olsen (there to salute Francisco Costa) in the midst of Louboutin's acceptance speech. Call it "Night of False Starts."

Hosted by Barneys New York's Simon Doonan, he opened the night by humorously urging honorees and presenters to keep the speeches short, "Donatella has to get to Katz's deli in the Lower East Side by 11, she's judging a pickle-eating competition," he quipped.

Karl Lagerfeld eschewed the unofficial time limit rule with his introduction of Harold Koda, the curator of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and recipient of the "Fashion Oracle" award, with a speech that elaborated on fashion's relevance to the history books. "He is the future of fashion," said Lagerfeld about Koda. "He will decide what will be remembered from today," to which Koda responded, "I feel I should be handing Karl the award."
