Atlanta Georgia Vacations

Thu, 20 Aug 2009 21:31:56 GMT

When I began outlining a trip to Atlanta, Georgia for several families, I looked at accommodations including hotels, Bed and Breakfast facilities and vacation rental properties. I was searching for upscale comforts, adaptability and a good price. I discovered many luxurious hotels but was turned off by the costs. To reserve multiple rooms at hotel prices was simply not feasible. The price tag was prohibitive. It also appeared that Bed and Breakfast facilities just don't suit family trips. To my delight when I started to search for Atlanta vacation rentals I found there were a lot of choices in terms of size, location and amenities. But the greatest thing of all was the cost. Atlanta vacation rentals were more economical than hotels, hands down - no contest! There were even yards so energetic children could run and play. Vacation rental properties are a delight for family trips. Some of the bigger properties would also be extraordinarily suitable for any big group of adults. I also noticed that the apartments and smaller homes that were listed would be perfect for intimate groups of adults or even couples.

After searching online I came across a site called Atlanta Georgia Vacations at atlantageorgiavacations.com. It was loaded with a good choice of Atlanta vacation rentals from 2-bedroom condos all of the way to a 5-bedroom home. When I inquired with one of the firms with houses listed on the Atlanta Georgia Vacations website, JB Destinations, I was thrilled with the quick responses and ease of doing business with them. The home that I selected was "The Jordan" that was a very large, 5-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom in the posh Buckhead area of Atlanta. The home was very clean with televisions in all bedrooms and the family room. The quantity of bathrooms was truly superb for the amount of guests in our group. It was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen was brand spanking new and an advantage for preparing fast meals and treats when we wanted to stay at home. The price was economical for the several people staying at the home. The transaction to rent the place was quick, smooth and flawless. I truly recommend that anybody searching for Atlanta vacation rentals to be certain to try the Atlanta Georgia Vacations internet site. You'll be excited you did.

Who gon' check me boo?

Tue, 04 Aug 2009 22:23:42 GMT

Who gon' check me, boo?For anyone who saw the first episode of the second season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, they were in for a treat! The show covered all of the housewives and what's been going on recently in each of their lives since last years's finale. First thing we see is that DeShawn Snow isn't part of the show while Kandi from the 90's girl group Xscape has replaced her. At first I'm wondering why they selected some washed up R&B singer to join the cast. However, we find out a few interesting titbits about her like she is a Grammy award winning songwriter and is at present writing and recording her album. She also has done well with some real estate holdings. Who knew?! I stand corrected on the washed up comment! NeNe has moved into a new housebigger and better than the last one! This should help to flatten the rumors that she and her partner are broke and got thrown out of their house. Shehas the 6th housewife, Dwight, to come over to help her to decorate her new digs! Dwight is actually a personality himself. This flamboyant and ever effeminate creature is a delight to watch! His use of the word,'dreadful' in describing all people, places, things AND events that aren't to his liking will leave any viewer highly amused.NeNe decided to reach adulthood and approached Sheree for a truce. It was refreshing to see two grown girls ACT like 2 grown women.Lisa Wu Hartwell apparently is pals with Kandi. They're shown at Lisa's house debating performing one-woman skits in a show that's to rival the Vagina monologues, but for black women. Lisa is a little concerned about what her skit would be about. Also, during this girl talk, Kandi let's Lisa know that her mom doesn't like the man she is engaged to because he has a lot of children...6 children, to be exact! Lisa is then shown later in the show with her man as they talk about probably having another child. Lisa thinks she may be too old at 38 while her man ( age 31 ) is gung-ho for the new baby thing!Kim is shown making an attempt to get more information about starting a wig line. All I am able to say is that Kim needs to first address her own wig calamities before she can begin to sell wigs with her name attached to it!Last, but really not least is Sheree. She has had a major life shift in that her home was foreclosed upon since the last season. In this episode, we see Sheree in her smaller, yet elegant home as she talks with a buddy about her ex. Now her ex is a subject that should be debated all on its own. This dead beat ex-husband had a court order to pay the mortgage yet he did not pay it and didn't even tell the mother of his youngsters that they would be put out! What a jerk! But what truly was the highlight, or should I say lowlight, of the show was the explosive exchange between Sheree and a party planner named Anthony. This disaster started when Sheree had a meeting with the party planner in the office to clear up some issues she was having with Anthony and his obvious hatred for clients asking questions about an event he is due to plan for them. Once in the meeting, Sheree explained that she needed to be able to provide input about HER event and ask as many questions as she wanted without him responding with, "I answered that question already." Anthony answered, with MUCH anger and stated that he was a'top-level executive' and wanted Sheree to respect his time. The s*t hit the fan! Before you knew it both were going at it! Anthony proceeded to scream at Sheree that he was going to'check' her to which Sheree responded in her best sista-girl voice,"Who gon' check me, boo?" By far, this was the best scene and line in the Real Housewives series yet!! This blowup has even quickly prompted t-shirts showing the phrase "Who gon' check me, boo?" Before this episode, Sheree was my least favorite housewife, but with that one explosive scene coupled with the sympathy I have for her ex-husband difficulties AND a preview of her possibly snatching off one of Kim's wigs, she's now turned into one of my fav[...]

Tile Floor Cleaning

Fri, 24 Apr 2009 19:53:49 GMT

There are two very important things for you to remember concerning tile floor cleaning. The first one is fight dirt with all your might. The second one is your floor manufacturer is your friend.

Fighting Dirt

The best approach in tile floor cleaning is to avoid getting them dirty in the first place. Obviously you can't avoid all dirt but avoiding as much as possible is important. Place floor mats at your door entrance so that people can wipe as much dirt off of their shoes as possible before walking on your ceramic tile. Clean your floor mats often to get rid of accumulated dirt. If you are really determined to fight dirt you might take a clue from the Japanese. They don't allow shoes that have walked outside into their homes. They place a shoe rack where these shoes may be stored until you leave the home. Some actually provide socks or slides for people to wear while they are in the home. This assures that outside dirt does not find its way onto their floors.

Floor Manufacturer

The manufacturer of your ceramic tile knows the best way of cleaning the ceramic tile you have purchased. Be sure to save the cleaning instructions that came with the tile when it was installed. Follow their directions. If you lose the directions contact them for more.

Tile Floor Cleaning

No matter what you do to avoid dirt the time will come for cleaning your ceramic tile. A few suggestions are in order:

* Do not allow spills to remain on your tile or stains may form. Clean them up immediately.
* Sweep your floors frequently but carefully. Use the attachments to your vacuum sweeper to avoid scratching and dulling the tile.
* Damp mop your floors using the cleaning products suggested by the manufacturer.
* Rinse your floors very well using clear water.
* Dry your floors with a soft cloth to avoid scratching and to remove any dulling film that may remain from the cleaning product.
* Never, never use any abrasive cleaning products such as scouring powder or steel wool pads while cleaning ceramic tile. Also, avoid bleach and ammonia.

With tile floor cleaning situations may come up in which you do not have the answers. Remember the tile manufacturer is your friend. Contact them. You'll be glad you did.

Easy chili recipes

2 easy chili recipes that you can make in about 15 minutes!

Quick and Tasty Chili

This recipe uses ground turkey instead of hamburger to make a low fat chili. What makes this so tasty is that by adding the beef soup base to the recipe, the chili still has the taste of good ole' fashioned hamburger without the added fat!

(10 minutes prep time)

1 lb ground turkey burger
2 14 oz cans of tomato sauce
1 can undrained kidney beans (optional)
1/2 cup chili powder
1/2 tsp. red cayenne pepper (optional)
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 cup chopped frozen onions, defrosted
1/2 cup chopped frozen green peppers
1 heaping tsp. beef soup base
1/2 cup water

1. In a large skillet, brown ground turkey.
2. While the ground turkey is browning, put frozen chopped onions and green peppers in a bowl and microwave on high until defrosted (about 45 seconds)
3. Take 1 cup of water and place in microwaveable cup. Add 1 heaping tsp. of beef soup base. Microwave until water is very hot. Remove from microwave and stir until the beef soup base has completely dissolved.
4. Once ground turkey is completely browned, add the water with soup base, kidney beans, black and red cayenne pepper, onions and green peppers, and the chili powder. Stir until well mixed.
5. Cover and cook on medium heat for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and enjoy!

White Chicken Chili

1 tbsp. olive oil
3 cups precooked, diced chicken breast (Tyson or some other brand is good)
1/4 cup frozen chopped onion
1 cup chicken broth
1 4oz. can chopped green chilies
1 19oz. can white kidney (cannelloni) beans, undrained
2 green onions, sliced
3/4 cup Monterey Jack cheese (optional)

Southwest Spice Blend
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
1/2 tsp. cilantro leaves
1/8 tsp. ground red pepper

1. Heat oil in large sauce pain over medium heat. Add chicken and onions. Cook for 2 minutes until frozen onions are defrosted.
2. Stir in broth, green chilies and spice blend. Simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Stir in beans. Simmer 5 minutes.
4. Garnish with Monterey Jack cheese, if desired.

Makes 4 cups
