Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a common skin condition, caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units, skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland via androgen stimulation. It is characterized by noninflammatory follicular papules or comedones and by inflammatory papules, pustules, and nodules, in its more severe forms. Acne vulgaris affects the areas of skin with the densest population of sebaceous follicles; these areas include the face, the upper part of the chest, and the back. Severe acne is inflammatory, but acne can also manifest in noninflammatory forms. Acne lesions are commonly referred to as, blemishes, spots, zits, or acne.Acne is most common during adolescene, affecting more than 85% of teenagers, and frequently continues into adulthood. The cause in adolescence is generally an increase in male sex hormones, which people of both genders accrue during puberty. For most people, acne diminishes over time and tends to disappear—or at the very least decrease—after one reaches one's early twenties. There is, however, no way to predict how long it will take to disappear entirely, and some individuals will carry this condition well into their thirties, forties and beyond.Acne develops as a result of blockages in follicles. Hyperkertinization and formation of a plug of kertin and sebum (a microcomedo) is the earliest change. Enlargement of sebaceous glands and an increase in sebum production occur with increased androgen (DHEA-S) production at adrenarche. The microcomedo may enlarge to form an open comedone (backhead) or closed comedone (whitehead). Whiteheads are the direct result of skin pores becoming clogged with, a naturally occurring oil, and dead skin cells. In these conditions the naturally occurring largely commensal bacteria Propionibacterium acnes can cause inflammation, leading to inflammatory lesions (papules, infected pustules, or nodules) in the dermis around the microcomedo or comedone, which results in redness and may result in scarring or hyperpigmentation."Chronic Acne Sufferer Finds A Scientifically Proven Way To Permanently Clear Skin In Just Three Days, And Finally Reveals The Unbelievably Easy, Step-By-Step Actions You Could Already Be Taking To Look Better, Feel Better, And Have A Renewed Sense of Self-Esteem!"Learn More, Click Here ![...]

To know Your skin type

Dry :

Dry skin is often thinner than normal skin. This can make it more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles at an early age. Dry skin can appear flaky and lack suppleness which often leads to feeling of "tight", skin. Unsuitable skin care can leave the skin "thirsty" for the added moisture it needs. Dry skin‘s hydrolipidic layer is lipid-deficient and lacks the intercellular "cement" that skin cells need to maintain the skin‘s firm quality. For this reason, dry skin can flake off easily. A very demanding skin type, dry skin needs added mositure to nourish and replenish. Doubling up on skin care treatments may even prove to be necessary during the winter for example.

Normal :

Not really dry, nor oily, normal skin is just that: normal. Normal skin is perfectly balanced, does not appear shiny, is soft and supple without any feelings of discomfort.

products. Certain medication, alcohol and spicy food can also lead to skin sensitivity. Clarins range of products that target sensitive skin soothe and rebalance, help restructure the skin. They can be used when needed (over a period of a few months) and once the skin is rebalanced, you can continue using your regular skin care products adapted to your skin type.

Combination :

Combination skin is characterized by an oily tendency on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) due to excessive oil production by the sebaceous glands. The rest of the face is normal or dry. It is important to choose products specially adapted to these variations and even treat the T-zone separately (when using a mask for example).

Oily :

Oily skin is usually thicker than other skin types, is often shiny with visible pores. Blackheads and blemishes are also common characteristics of oily skin. Higher levels of sebaceous secretions are the reason your complexion may look dull and lacklustre. Oily skin "resists" skin aging and sun exposure well but make-up is often short lived. When oily skin ages, fines lines and wrinkles take longer to set, however, oily skin is more prone to skin slackening.Oily skin needs to be balanced with gentle skin care products since (contrary to popular belief) oily skin often becomes sensitive due to aggressive, unsuitable products.

To achieve the most radiant, luminous face, remember three key words, “less is more!” Nothing ages you more than a cakey, over applied, and ill-suited color choice of foundation. Another faux pas is the dreaded “line of demarcation” where the foundation distinctly stops at the jaw line. Bring the makeup down the neck and feather it out until it is virtually invisible. Additionally, use a loose powder mineral foundation that you can layer until you feel the coverage is correct. A Get Started Kit from bareMinerals contains mineral foundation in perfect color combinations with brushes to facilitate a flawless finish.
