Looking For Corporate Logo Design Services Watch Out For These 3 Traps

After running through the usual procedures of beginning a business, it was time to address the matter of corporate logo design. One important lesson I've learned when it comes to company logos is that it is very common for busy business people to make a judgment call based on appearance. Hence, a corporate logo design should say as much as possible about a business or product.

So the next thing on the agenda was to look for a competent logo design company to produce a professional logo design that would help reflect all the values my company is known for. However, I was not on the lookout for a traditional custom logo designer as a result of my budget and time limitations, but neither was I in search of a novice. Luckily, the internet is filled with design firms whose work is relatively good.

After browsing the net and analyzing circa 30 different logo design firms, I noticed and learned a few things. The first thing I learned was always read the fine print. A number of sites contain press stopping headlines and prices but not known to many, they also come with terms and conditions. Do not buy into these traps. The following are three of the most common ones.

Limited FREE Revisions
A lot of sites display seemingly ridiculous low fees for their design deals but a deeper look would uncover the catch. Many low price packages only come with only two free revisions or less. If the designer does not produce something up to your expectations within this limit, you could end up having to spend extra until you you receive what you want. To make sure that you steer clear of this predicament, always look for deals with an acceptable number of free revisions or a full satisfaction guarantee.

Price Covers Initial Work ONLY
A number of logo design firms use this little trick as a method to force a little extra income from many unsuspecting clients. The displayed rate only includes preliminary creative concepts and does not include the final logos designs. Clients would likely have to pay extra if they want the finalized design. You can avoid this situation by making certain that the price stated covers ownership of the final design.

Print Ready Files
This is just another technique certain logo design firms trap you when you do not expect it. This time around, the price displayed comprises everything from the preliminary concept designs to the finalized corporate logo design. The catch is the amount does not cover high resolution files. You will find that high resolution files are necessary for printing purposes especially for office stationary such as business cards and envelops.

Do not get carried away with the low rates tabled by certain logo design agencies. If you feel it appears too good to be true then it probably is. Do some homework just to be on the safe side.

From the 30 or so design firms I looked at, a number of of them displayed fees ranging from $50 to $500 for their design services. I selected the one that costs around $70. Its not at all difficult to find a professional logo design firm that's not out to scheme you. Just use the advice listed above and you should be okay.
