Classical: Open Strings by wescurry45nion

Mon, 24 Apr 2017 04:14:59 -0400

This one I engineered for ear buds, and am working on finding the happy medium between engineering for headphone listeners and stereo speaker listeners.
There really is a huge difference.

(image) Some ideas put together and edited in a sketchy kind of way. Played on a pain in the action acoustic that basically sucks. Thanks for listening.

Electronica: Duby Wattah (Artefaktor Extended Mix) by DJShadowkat

Sun, 23 Apr 2017 17:03:44 -0400

(image) Sorry for the long absence. I've been working really hard on several new tracks and several remixes. I've been putting more time into each one, hoping that it shows.

(image)

This is the original version of my track, Duby Wattah. I had shortened it the first time I posted it as I felt it was too long and not enough going on to keep interest.

I've added quite a bit to it, and yes it's long. But it's a great sonic ride.

Please enjoy.

(image)

This version is only on http://artefaktorradio.com/ and iComp.

The deejay's at Artefaktor have been very supportive as has many here on iComp, so I did this version for them but had to put it here as well.

Next Friday is my birthday, so this is my birthday present. Interestingly, the main guy at Artefaktor Radio also has his birthday on the 28th.

(Hmmm) I'll bet I'm older than he is.... LOL (image)

Used my new Launchpad Pro, SparkLE, several new synths I recently purchased. All the drum tracks were reworked by hand on the Launchpad except for 2 loops in the main beat.

Classical: SICB Commission (Eclipse) by wescurry45nion

Sun, 23 Apr 2017 15:54:11 -0400

Been working on this for about three weeks. It is for a concert later this summer during the full lunar eclipse.
The piece is like a tryptic.....the Introduction....The Crowd...The Eclipse...the Festivities.
There are some minor details to work out.
My first real commission from a live orchestra.
Very exciting.

Folk: Easter at Wik by sookin01

Sun, 23 Apr 2017 12:25:27 -0400

(image) The easter holiday is a bit strange. We use to celebrate that the spring is close and everything is coming back to life. But the church is a bit gloomy although even Jesus came back to life, but the christian holiday isn't that happy. still. Anyway I put it in a rather old context. It is both happy and sad in a rather naïve way.

Rock: Plankton of Love [Demo mix] by artneuro

Sat, 22 Apr 2017 21:44:45 -0400

(image) Another one of the old songs from our band days. I've been reworking these in between all the others because it's been a long while and I've had a lot to think about these songs. We used to play this live back in the day. Pharmakeus even played it in the band after the one with me as well. It got played a bit because people really liked it way back when.
Like most things from one's past, it is what it is. (image)

Some new verse on the blues classic, I aint got you by Calvin Carter, recorded first, I believe by Jimmy Reed in 1955. Many covers including Rolling Sones, Aerosmith,Blues Brothers, Steve Miller Band... has followed.
I just found it on a hard disk where it has many years.

Funk: Baile (Got to do it) by sammydix

Sat, 22 Apr 2017 10:38:52 -0400

(image) Got together with the guitarist from my old band. Our first 'reunion' in something like 15 years. He tours professionally these days, but still took the time out to perform with his old band mate again.

Steve helped me out with the Latin section providing the piano and percussion. He also inspired me to use a Samba rhythm in the Latin section where I originally wanted Salsa. It flows waaaay better now. Thanks Steve!

Hope you like the tune.

Fri, 21 Apr 2017 15:03:44 -0400

(image) There used to be public service announcements running at the bottom of the TV screen on certain TV stations. One of the notices that scrolled across the bottom was, "It's 11 o'clock, do you know where your children are? I picked up my guitar and began writing this song after one such announcement.
