Alternative: You're Either Out Or You're In! by falconep

Tue, 25 Jul 2017 16:05:50 -0400

(image) "I know why you're here, Neo. I know what you've been doing... why you hardly sleep, why you live alone, and why night after night, you sit by your computer... I know because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me, he told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Neo. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question, just as I did.
Enjoying summer?"

Re-mixing the LANDLINE movie score. About 3/4 of a year has passed since I first handed my tracks over to the film, and at the time I was seriously poor in knowledge on how to really mix and master. Now after almost a years practice, going back and making it sound better.

Blues: Intangible, v3 by Char

Sun, 23 Jul 2017 07:05:14 -0400

(image) What I did: I recorded a set of lyrics for an open collab.

What Bud did: He added a drum track, hand claps, bass, and two tracks of acoustic slide guitar – the only loops used were the one drum track and a vinyl scratch track. He triple tracked my voice with different eq’s and blended them together to get the sound you hear. Finally, he used overdrive, eq, and compression in mastering.
To me, it sounds as if I was singing in a smoky roadhouse.
I hope you like it and aren't sick of my song, yet.
Thank you, Bud.
(This is copied from the original post on MJ...)
I'll just post one more version, soon. I promise. (image)

(image) This little modern fairy tale was inspired by a moving documentary I watched about young folks in Wales addicted to heroin. They were extremely sad figures who had lost their way and were relentlessly chasing the next fix. I've lost friends to various addictions over the years and it's a tragedy to watch someone fall into that all-too-human hellhole, but it was the thought that it could be the fate of my own boys one day, no matter how hard we, as parents, try to steer them away from such a fate, that really got to me. It's a dark little piece, but I hope you give it a listen. It's a terrifying job being a parent ...

Rock: 110 klassik rok by irok

Sat, 22 Jul 2017 17:05:00 -0400

110 BPM So I just messed around with my guitar, I made the tune way to long on my first upload and had to re-export, it is still long..
Hey it's rock. I did a solo, I'm not that good at building those but some impro and re-doing, I did fit it in at the end of the tune, I added a simple bass, the thing about my active fretless is, it sounds awesome but it's a lottery to find the right notes.. (image)
If anyone want to redo the bass, I'm ok with that, for now it just.. works.
Feel free to add whatever You want or just enjoy (image)

New Age: Before the Big Butterfly by Xolv

Fri, 21 Jul 2017 19:26:13 -0400

(image) A down tempo instrumental.

The composition had another working title
"Butterfly" replaced "Bang", which I think may work better .
I was just testing the time reversal of some functions of harmonic modulation and melody liked the result.

Fri, 21 Jul 2017 10:24:55 -0400

(image) In a moment, everything can change. A whole world turned upside-down, in the blink of an eye...

Demo of track 2 from my forthcoming album 'Brighter Days'.

Well, it looks like this is really happening - track 1 wasn't a one-off. Maybe I'll get this album released before these songs reach their twentieth birthday...

I remember quite clearly sitting in a lecture during the first year of my mathematics degree - I think the topic was differential equations - dutifully writing down everything the lecturer was putting up on the board, and at the same time jotting down lyrics in the margin of my notepad (which back then was a physical thing made of paper, as opposed to a notepad computer). The guy sitting next to me, who could be quite uptight about this sort of thing, frowned disapprovingly, but then he wasn't a musician, so what did he know?
