Classical Criminology and Human Nature

Wed, 30 Nov 2016 11:25:34 -0600

Classical criminology, and its recent expression in rational choice theory, does not cut slack in terms of excusing, or otherwise mitigating, counterproductive and maladaptive social behaviors. An essential component is the assertion you are responsible and accountable for your actions. No matter how much you blame others, abuse substances, claim "victimization" or invoke the nebulous notions of alleged "mental illness", classicists remain unmoved. From this historic school of thought, as well as its variations, the primary philosophical notion is that people are always responsible for their behaviors, especially when they choose to do harm to others.

Wed, 26 Oct 2016 14:15:30 -0500

To put it in the most intelligible form, hate crime is a prejudice-based crime which is often violent. It is tagged "hate" crime because it is believed to be done out of hatred for the victim. But in reality, the hatred also has an element of envy. Most times the victim usually possesses something or some quality that perpetrators never have.

Criminal Justice?

Tue, 18 Oct 2016 07:50:37 -0500

What if we had a training program to teach people how to become better criminals? We do, you know. In his 1966 book, The Crime of Punishment, the psychiatrist Karl Menninger wrote a critical review of the system for treating (punishing) criminals. Here is one conclusion he drew from his study, "The idea of punishment as the law interprets it seems to be that inasmuch as a man has offended society, society must officially offend him." In other words the main goal of criminal justice is to exact revenge in proportion to the perceived offense.

Is the upcoming November 2016 Presidential Election being covertly illegally rigged to assure a win by the Democratic Presidential Candidate? Thu, 13 Oct 2016 10:55:52 -0500

Over the millennia of Western human history, there have always been propaganda machines existing within the governments of civilizations (kingdoms, empires, and nation-states), designed by those governments, ancient and modern, for the express purpose of creating economic, political, and social perceptions, either true or false, within the minds of the governed masses in order to maintain control those of masses of people. Unfortunately, most of the ancient governments, such as the Persian, Macedonian, and Roman Empires, were tyrannically autocratic, militarily forcing upon the governed masses the will of the subjugating government. Before the advent of the printing press, this propaganda...

Thu, 01 Sep 2016 07:25:13 -0500

Reasonable people are usually intuitive and deductive when sets of facts present themselves before them, and the first impressions of these facts on those reasonable minds are usually true and correct. The statements, public and private, which emerge from such reasonable people, like Donald Trump, are also true and correct. Hence, the statements that Donald Trump has made about a ban on Muslim immigration, and a close watch on devout Muslims already within the Republic, merit great consideration by the American electorate based upon their truth and correctness. The dangers associated with Muslim devotion to Islam are rife, and the sooner the People realize these dangers, the better. Read on for an explication of these issues...

Private Prison Phase Outs Could Benefit Companies Like Public Storage

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 06:42:00 -0500

The Obama Administration has said they were against for-profit-colleges, just as they said they were against for-profit-colleges. In the realm of for-profit-colleges the government said that it would not send government employees to such colleges or guarantee the student loans, then sued most of the largest companies out of existence. This is essentially what they are planning to do with for-profit-prisons. Of course, one could ask why we have for-profit-colleges or prisoners in the first place.

Women all over the world are facing the horror of killings but what's worst is killing them under the pretext of honor. Though the murderers are not common to all societies, yet we cannot ignore the fact that they're accompanied by a lot of mental and psychological trauma.

The Criminal Conspiracy To Increase Democrat Voters 100-Days Before 2016 Presidential Election

Thu, 04 Aug 2016 06:44:33 -0500

We all know that crime is up in the United States, so what does our brilliant Teleprompter In Chief, President Obama, do? He lets 100s of thousands of people out of prison. There is also some talk amongst Democrats to allow people in prison to vote, and ex-cons still on probation, parole or in half-way houses to vote. This they'd like to do by using an executive order by the President, and if the Supreme Court says NO, it would be too late, those people would have already voted in the 2016 Presidential Election, less than 100-days away.

The Future Of Burglary - A Think Tank Tackles The Question

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 07:39:59 -0500

Will the future of automobile theft, home invasion, and home and commercial burglary include hackers or internet international independent outsourced hacking contractors? As a futurist and the founder of a think tank, I am sure these crimes will include such hackers. Perhaps prison breaks, or even assassinations (made to look like accidents) will as well. Even clandestine forces will use these methods to attack their targets, unfortunately so too will terrorists. Let me explain.

Most of the stories concern a leading Catholic cardinal who has since risen to high office in the Vatican and refuses to return to Australia. The tribunal set up by the previous Labor government to look into this crime has uncovered horrible events that have shocked the nation.

By What Right Does One Take the Life of Another?

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 08:02:16 -0500

Death is everywhere and we are in a time when life is very cheap. With some four babies a second being born the crowds are increasing, land is expensive and beyond the reach of many, homes are becoming little boxes in high rises, and the ability to feed everyone is now a major problem. Many are forced to live on the streets and governments in many countries are in turmoil.

The Crime of Slavery

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 15:58:25 -0500

The recent killings in the USA of black men by white policemen must be seen in context. Slavery was the way these people got to the country in the first place. It is also the way many Americans became rich as they worked people who were ripped from their homes in Africa and brought across the world in ships against their will.

Burning People Alive Is a Crime By the Catholic Church

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 15:33:49 -0500

The horror inflicted on people by the male dominated Catholic Church over the best part of its existence is unbelievable. What is more incredulous is that it has survived and has millions of followers who swallow its lies and protect its tenets. My reincarnation alerted me to the evil of its ways and the myths and misinformation it stands on.

A Simple Solution to the Problem of Police Shootings of African Americans

Thu, 14 Jul 2016 09:49:29 -0500

Crimes and Fraud Within the Catholic Church

Wed, 13 Jul 2016 15:53:52 -0500

The first crime is the claim that it was established by Jesus Christ and that it has the keys to heaven. This outrageous lie is believed by a huge majority of the population and it has used it to empower its presence and to engage in outrageous acts for which it is not accountable. The religion is the result of the Islamic system brought to Rome by the Amor who previously inhabited Babylon.

Crimes of the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages

Wed, 13 Jul 2016 06:59:26 -0500

Criminals are rife in all religions because their leaders have a set view on their role in preserving the dogma they preach and the false gods they worship. From the 13th to the 15th centuries and beyond the crimes attributable to the bishops and priests within the Catholic Church amounted to what today would be classified as crimes against humanity and wilful murder. The horror inflicted on the innocents who were charged with witchcraft is just one of many such outrageous acts.

All over the world, it is the business of the police, as the most invisible government security agency to prevent, tackle or deal with criminal activities at various levels. Therefore, the police must continuously be empowered with enough funds, personnel, equipment and communication gadgets, vehicles and other tools to fight crimes and criminalities effectively. The truth however is that in both developing and developed countries, law enforcement agents, even with the best of tools are not magicians.

The Fear of Terrorists

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 14:51:35 -0500

The recent terrorist attacks on American soil has a huge impact on the world. We can't help to wonder how this is going to change everything from freedom of speech to gun control and to the safety of our nation. I am often fearful of what can come out of terrorist forcing fear on us and how we will react to it. I am reminded of the words of Yeshua Matt 7:1-2 "Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. 2 For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Too many believers are too harsh on their judgment and forget to be merciful as Yeshua was to sinners which made those who looked on very angry.

The Terrorist Menace

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 14:21:34 -0500

A terrorist killed 49 persons in a gay club in US. It angered the society. It is true that only a small fraction of any religious group are militants. It would be wrong to blame the whole community for their erratic behavior. We have to tackle the problem, on war footing, as it can jeopardize the World peace.

Orlando and the Guns of Shame

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 07:37:56 -0500

Why wouldn't a terrorist strike at the heart of American culture when all he has to do is buy up his guns, load them up, find someone to teach him to shoot them, and then go on a rampage of killing? How much easier could it be and yet the mindset of those who refuse to allow gun laws in the United States is such that nothing will change. They claim that their guns protect them.

Teachers With Troubled Pasts May Be Teaching Your Child

Mon, 13 Jun 2016 11:39:23 -0500

When we take our children to school, we assume that they will be taught by and cared for by competent, safe individuals. Fri, 10 Jun 2016 07:03:22 -0500

Would the notorious criminal Al Capone have been electable in a mayoral race in Chicago during the time Elliot Ness was trying to put him away for bootlegging and racketeering? Could he have pulled-off a successful campaign in the midst of his criminality, and would the people have been duped into voting for him? Is there a comparable scenario in 2016 that is currently looming before the American republic. The following essay addresses one such political enigma.

Students Shot While Protesting Against Corruption in PNG

Thu, 09 Jun 2016 06:17:57 -0500

The shots fired against a group of students marching towards the parliament building in Papua New Guinea are echoing around the world. While only a court can decide on the legality of their claims it has now served to bring to light a greater contest, that of a crime against humanity.

Millions of dollars given to communities to build houses after floods, to provide service to remote settlements, to educate the young and extend classrooms and learning facilities, and so on, are just some of the things that have never happened. Why?

Black Magic and Terrorism

Thu, 02 Jun 2016 15:58:13 -0500

The power in the belief of supernatural forces is the driving force of all terrorists who are touched by it. We are all 'tribal' in that what is passed on to us from parents and elders remains in our psyche and culture. It takes great strength to overturn it and become impossible when superstition and things like 'sacraments', devils, angels, and saints, are added to the mix.

Religions Create Criminals

Mon, 09 May 2016 06:22:47 -0500

It's hard for most to imagine but religions are the main force behind criminality. Promising people eternal life if they confess their 'sins' to a priest is akin to telling them that no matter how many times they hurt someone they will be forgiven. The elevation of men over women is a source of domestic violence, while teaching male children that they are made in the image of God is like handing them a rifle to murder others.

"My Name Is Friday, I'm a Cop" - Ensuring Our Safety in the Aftermath of the Boston Marathon Tragedy

Mon, 11 Apr 2016 08:07:37 -0500

We Americans are at our best when we have identified a pressing problem, then set about the task of solving it, no matter how difficult. Right now, the problem is terrorism... what it is, how it works, the people who perpetrate the outrages... and what we as a nation and as individuals and potential victims must do to ensure that they are stopped dead... and never be allowed to practice their malicious craft ever again, against anyone, anywhere. You might think such a high and strenuous goal is just too difficult, indeed that it is beyond the capacities of mere mortals. But you'd be wrong. Terrorism is man made and as such it can be minimized, curtailed, and through assiduous, unflagging effort wiped out by man. A man like Joe Friday.

To experience the joy of spring in New England and in its first and principal city since its inception in 1630 you must have faced and survived the very real rigors of the New England winter as only the genuine New Englander can do... resolute people... determined people... people for whom the very idea of tenacity was created. Those that could spend yet another exacting season on this inauspicious pied-a-terre the Pilgrims audaciously decreed would be their Godly capital. And so fearing nothing but God they began, little knowing how many challenges there would be, but bolstered by the living God facing each one as it came, no matter what it was or how it seared them. These are the kind of people who in this often grim, demanding geography built their Shining City on a Hill... these are the kind of people who sustain it. For we are a stern and rigorous people who have grown up sometimes daunted, sometimes misguided, sometimes stumbling, but always advancing... renewing... improving; even when their heart is breaking... as it most assuredly is breaking now as a tragic event unfolds.

"And The Ladies They Will All Turn Out," How War Came to Main Street Enlisting Us All, Some Thoughts

Thu, 07 Apr 2016 11:57:33 -0500

Being restless, I did what I almost never do, turning on the television for some light entertainment. This, however, was not destined to take place. Indeed, there was to be nothing light and no mirth at all for that day and the excruciatingly long day to come... I saw the feature that so often distinguishes late night newscasts, video feed from a crime scene, the place usually being somewhere in the inner city no sensible person would ever go to. Yes, it was the usual late-night distraction that would be buried on page 8 or so in tomorrow's paper. Nothing to do with me... not even the caption on the bottom of the screen: "MIT security officer killed." But from then on, through the long night and the longer day that followed everything was direct, personal, everything to do with me. The reporter noted the crime scene as Vassar Street, Cambridge. A place well known to me. Life was about to change forever as the total war of our times swept me up, imperious, without thought of who I was, what I had been doing, no matter how important. My desires, wishes, priorities counted for nothing... and neither did yours.

After the 911 attacks, it was common to hear the battle between the Democrats and Republicans over the "no-fly" list made for this purpose. One of the parties maintains that sensible measures should be taken to protect the country and the citizens. The other party argues that this goes against the rules of due-process and somehow slips into lawlessness.

The No-Fly List - A Controversial Solution to Modern-Day Problems

Tue, 15 Mar 2016 11:36:35 -0500

Subsequent to the September 11 attacks carried by terrorists with the help of airplanes on the US, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 got amalgamated, leading to the formation of the No-Fly list, which is an important security measure devised to prevent acts of terrorism by prohibiting deceitful persons from boarding any aircraft. However, the effectiveness plus constitutionality of the list remains doubtful in some ways. Individuals whose names appear in No-Fly list are not permitted to undertake air travel outside or even inside the US.

Could the No-Fly List Also Become the No-Gun List?

Tue, 15 Mar 2016 11:36:14 -0500

The present US Administration headed by Obama frankly states if you are forbidden by the government to enter an aircraft, you should not be permitted to procure a gun. Basically, the no fly list or other lists meant to keep a watch on terrorists as prepared by the federal government should be taken as the basis for deciding the names of people who are too hazardous to have a gun. The proposal brought the issue of the no fly list to spotlight once again...

Mental Health and Criminality

Thu, 18 Feb 2016 06:48:56 -0600

The UK Government is promising to increase the range of services catering for mental health problems. Mental sickness is a growing concern, and poses the usual question: is mental illness on the increase or are the practitioners detecting and reporting much that has previously been hidden. One begins to suspect that mental fitness is rare and that most people have some mental health problems at one time or another. If the trend continues, the end point will be an excuse for every crime in the form of an identifiable mental condition. There seems to be a convergence with the words of Abdul Baha who said that no man is wicked or evil, but some are like children and need education and some are sick and must be healed.
