Tue, 10 Jan 2017 06:58:09 -0600Is the Pentagon going with the Chinese bluff narrative to scare Congress into funding more military defense projects and future mega-weapon systems procurement? Personally, I wonder about this, because as I study the Chinese copies of US and Russian military aircraft, ships, tanks and missiles, along with strategy and cyber warfare it appears to me that they are not nearly as capable as they pretend. Oh sure, they are light years ahead of North Korean and Iran but nowhere near their purported narrative.
Sat, 31 Dec 2016 13:14:08 -0600There is a branch of mathematics that deals with peak usage, and it can be used in automobile and highway traffic optimization, aircraft control, peak cell tower demand, predicting rogue waves in the ocean, and data transfer solutions. Artificial Intelligence with the use of this math and carefully crafted algorithms can predict bottlenecks, divert traffic and come up with optimized routing.
Sat, 31 Dec 2016 13:02:48 -0600Have you ever noticed in nature how fearful little rodents and field rats are when it comes to flying things? They are perpetually petrified of birds of prey in the sky, and evolutionarily speaking it makes a lot of sense. For those critters which are not afraid of the birds swooping down to eat them, probably never grow up old enough to reproduce. Have you ever considered that terrorists operate a lot like field rats, afraid of the sky, no not of the proverbial 'devil in the sky' or pterodactyl but rather of a US Predator Drone.
Sat, 31 Dec 2016 13:01:07 -0600We all know there is sectarian violence in much of the Middle East, and on the African Continent the religious waring never seems to stop. Then there is ethnic cleansing which is so bad, it's hard not to call "Humanity" an oxymoron. The reality is such things have been going on for as long as humans have recorded their history, and probably a long-time before that considering that Chimpanzee Troops often attack and kill neighboring troop members, not much could be more terrorizing than that in the middle of the night if you were a member of that species.
Sat, 31 Dec 2016 12:59:26 -0600Yes, I'd rather use our Federal Treasury for better things, but we don't live in the perfect utopian world of the future, we live in today's world and that means we need military weapons and readiness. This means training, equipment, and weapon systems. Question is: how much is enough? A very fair question, and to that point I dare to ask; how much is too little? That's right, considering the challenges in the world today, are we ready for multiple wars simultaneously, or having a conventional conflict with a fellow superpower, emerging superpower, or former superpower? Let's discuss this.
Thu, 29 Dec 2016 08:42:21 -0600Technology has taken a great leap. Nuclear bunkers for civilians in the US are absolutely necessary. In the event of nuclear war, the only way to safeguard people is to provide shelter in nuclear bunkers. Russians have already built numerous bunkers for its population. The US government must think about it seriously.
Thu, 29 Dec 2016 06:47:02 -0600There is a lot of controversy amongst peaceniks on the military use of drones or UAVs. Some say this is just the start and soon these UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) will be thinking for themselves, and not actually controlled by a drone pilot remotely. Yes, that's true and we are working on such autonomous systems now, that can seek out targets, confirm targets, kill targets, record the kill, and fly home to base, refill and do it again, and again, and again until there are no more targets, enemies, or terrorists - all this without risking human lives in battle or costing the taxpayer money in payroll, health care benefits or pensions.
Tue, 27 Dec 2016 08:54:15 -0600Introduction Indian history is a history of invasions, particularly from the North West Frontier. Here the high Hindu Kush Mountains formed an impregnable barrier, but some passes through these mountains made it easy to enter the rich and fertile plains of India. The most famous of these passes is...
Tue, 27 Dec 2016 07:00:11 -0600Today, everyone jokes about the Bush Administration's claim that Saddam Hussein had Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). We hear things all the time about "yellow cake" and how the CIA and intelligence agencies supposedly lied that Saddam was trying to get Uranium to enrich. Somehow the narrative of WMD changed definitions in the left-leaning media to mean "nuclear" weapons of mass destruction, not biological or chemical WMD.
Tue, 20 Dec 2016 07:10:16 -0600There was an interesting article published on November 29, 2013 in the New York Times titled; "UN Nuclear Inspectors Invited to Iranian Nuclear Facility," by Alana Cowell. If this deal goes through China wins big time. They want to buy more Iranian Oil. China's oil company just bought the Exxon oil fields in Iraq's Kurdish area, they will be selling oil into Turkey, and Turkey is buying defense weapons from China. China is making headway in the region. And Turkey stands to gain playing everyone off everyone else, and remaining loyal to everyone but no one. And with Iran and China back on track with oil, they have now sewn up that entire side of the Middle East as resource allies.
Tue, 13 Dec 2016 06:57:17 -0600We all see how Global Warming Theory -- which states that human CO2 emissions are causing cataclysmic climate warming of our Earth's atmosphere -- has turned into something of a religion. Leave it to the Club of Rome to come up with that one, heck, they've even got the Catholic Pope on-board as the world to bring socialism to the global masses. What concerns me is the divided populations and nations of Earth are becoming embroiled in this crazy ascertain of Global Warming Theory.
Fri, 09 Dec 2016 14:28:07 -0600Gerald R. Ford, President of the U.S at the commissioning of USS Nimitz famously said these words."... Wherever the Nimitz shows her flag, she will be seen as we see her now - a true symbol of the strength of the United States of America. Made in the United States and manned by Americans. No matter what the nature of its mission is, whether its diplomacy, defense, or humanity, The Nimitz will command admiration from some, caution from others and respect from all."

Tue, 15 Nov 2016 06:55:03 -0600One of the challenges for the US Navy is that as the ships get bigger it makes it hard for them to navigate the locks in Panama, meaning they have to go around South America or through the Northwest Passage which is only possible in the summertime or when the ice is cleared. What if we could find an easier way to rapidly cut through the ice? What if we used high-energy lasers for the cutting? What if we used aerial assets to sense the thickness of the ice and choose the most optimal route, and then cut the path for the lead ship below and then followed by the convoy? Is this possible? Well it just might be.
Thu, 10 Nov 2016 09:06:00 -0600On November 10th, 1775, The United States Marine Corps was founded by the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fittingly, "Tun Tavern" was the place where history was made. Since that date, Marines have been in uninterrupted service to our nation and have distinguished themselves "in every clime and place," in far off lands and on distant, remote beaches "from the Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli."
Thu, 10 Nov 2016 07:04:40 -0600On this the 241st birthday of the Marine Corps, I salute the Marines of the past who made our Corps into the finest fighting organization in the world. And I salute the Marines of the present who have maintained that lineage.

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 11:51:26 -0500For years I've been saying how important it is to keep nuclear weapons from states that sponsor terrorism - nation-states like Iran for instance that funds Hamas and Hezbollah to the tune of $100 million per year. What happens if Iran gets nuclear weapons? Sure they will have them for deterrent, provided they have the missile technology or other means to deliver those weapons, but a more scary scenario would be for them to give such WMD to terrorist organization to serve upon their enemy or enemies. Remember they've promised to blow Israel off the map and they call us the great evil. That just doesn't sound like they mean well, and we all know about the regional sectarian struggles too.
Fri, 09 Sep 2016 14:09:41 -0500Every things looked so good at independence, but now Nigeria has become a beggar State. How did we get it wrong? The same old Army officers that ruled us during the Military era and destroyed Nigeria through dictatorial rule, are they still ruling us now? Have the Army really returned to the barracks?
Wed, 24 Aug 2016 06:39:45 -0500Donald Trump (Presidential Nominee) suggested that if the NATO nations failed to pay their way as promised, then our commitment to NATO might be in jeopardy. What's wrong with that? NATO Nations have promised to commit no less than 2% of their GDPs to defense, but only a few of the NATO nations have or do on an annual basis. Look, if they are not committed to NATO, why should we be? We are not here to pay their way, and defend them if they will not commit to defend themselves as promised.
Thu, 04 Aug 2016 10:37:54 -0500Veterans are people of high self-esteem, caliber and show selfless dedication to humanity. A veteran from any land or any nation is a gift from heaven. Revere and honor a veteran for their service, at any time of year, don't wait for that changing date on the calendar to remember the remarkable contribution that they have made to mankind, their country and to other nations as well. Recognize those veterans that served in WWI, WW2, Hurricane Katrina or anywhere that they have contributed to country and safety. Veteran's day should be immediate when you notice a veteran in your vicinity, take the time to say,"Thank you,for your service.". God Bless all veterans for their sacrifice and service and for those who now serve in Heaven, we salute you, and wish you peace and rest.
Mon, 18 Jul 2016 15:34:42 -0500It's something the world looks upon with fear when policemen are now being killed in the USA after black men were shot and others killed in cold blood and now police are the ones targeted. The answer to the problem will not come about with a new President but only with the overthrow of gun ownership. Even that won't work, however, as there are so many weapons owned by individuals, black and white, that it would be beyond the government's financial means to buy them back.
Fri, 15 Jul 2016 06:35:20 -0500From the castle keep to the halls of Westminster in an age of chivalry and knights gallantly astride their steady mounts came the one Knight that had the greatest impact on not only English history but that of all Europe. The height of the Middle Ages in a world filled with long bows, broad swords and lancers, this was life in the 11th century. The days of chivalry and knighthood where on galloping horses lancers in hand jousting tournaments were held all over the land.
Tue, 12 Jul 2016 08:33:13 -0500The object that crashed during the Roswell incident was probably an experimental space capsule carrying involuntary humans as Guinea pigs. The capsule was lifted by balloons and possibly by rocket motors around the edge of it nearly into space, and this was done as an early event in the American space program.

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 10:19:39 -0500THE RUSSIAN TU-160 IS REVAMPED AND PUT IN AN OPERATIONAL ROLE - When the Soviet Union was on its last legs they had produced a Mach II heavy bomber known as the TU-160. The aircraft produced in 1987, died a natural death as the Soviet Union collapsed. The successor state Russia, for some time, lay low, beset with economic problems as well as confusion about its role in world affairs.
Tue, 05 Jul 2016 10:00:20 -0500On Thursday, June 30, 2016, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter held a press conference and announced what may be the most controversial--and outlandish--change to military service perhaps in our history--transgender individuals will now be allowed to enlist and serve openly in our nation's armed forces--effective immediately. In fact, they will be assisted in their medical requirements to change their sex by military medical personnel. The deadline for full implementation is one year, July 2017. Hopefully, by then we have a new and sensible president who quashes this abomination. As is customary in Washington, D. C., this radical pronouncement was made on the approach of the 4th of July weekend ensuring it would receive scant attention from not only the press but also the public. It would slip quietly into effect with little or no critical response. This is just another of the final year of the Obama presidency's extreme liberal agenda Barack Obama is intent on implementing before he lapses into history, one more of the egregious changes he intends to ensure he leaves as part of his liberal legacy. There are more to come.
Fri, 17 Jun 2016 10:26:02 -0500When Mel Gibson portrayed Francis Marion in the movie "The Patriot" that portrayal was more like a Revolutionary period Rambo than the actual man himself known as The Swamp Fox. Most of the history of the American Revolution centers on George Washington. But, it was the courage, the stealth like cunning, and the tenacity that he displayed in a time when the future of America was really on the line that has cemented the Swamp Fox's place in history as one of Americas Greatest Patriots and next to George Washington a true Revolutionary War hero.
Wed, 15 Jun 2016 10:35:33 -0500Memorial Day, for most of us, is a day of joy - parades, barbecues, family, and friends. We celebrate those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our great nation, our way of life, and our freedom. There was a time in my life where Memorial Day made me uncomfortable - celebrating death felt odd. I see things differently now.
Thu, 09 Jun 2016 12:57:28 -0500When it comes to "tough" environments, nothing can compare to the military. So when the military needs its equipment's components to last and withstand impacts and major environmental considerations, it often turns to plastic fasteners.
Mon, 06 Jun 2016 09:36:45 -0500If you have always wanted to join the Pakistan army, there are many ways in which you can join it. This article will guide you on the different ways. Joining the army after a Master's Degree - Even if you have some level of education, it doesn't mean that you can't get into the Pakistan army. You can join the army as a captain or major. Fri, 03 Jun 2016 09:56:07 -0500The military honor guard provide a wonderful service for our loved ones who have served our nations military. I will always remember how special it made my brother's funeral. Let us always strive to remember our fallen, They are the reason that we are free.
Tue, 31 May 2016 07:08:49 -0500Remembering the sacrifice of the war dead is something that western nations do with gratitude. Reflecting on the enormous debt they paid so that others can be free is usually done on a special day that is highlighted with special services. In the United States this happens on the last Monday in May.
Tue, 31 May 2016 06:27:57 -0500There can be nothing more terrifying than having bombs falling in your area. Houses blown up, people killed, many maimed, and others devastated is a side of war that many are forced to come to grips with. The threat of annihilation and the loss of family, friends, pets, homes, and your life's work are all in the mix.
Fri, 27 May 2016 11:38:29 -0500The Armed Forces are a source of pride for every country. No country can survive without the military; we cannot live today without their existence. There is a special day in a country's calendar dedicated to honor the brave soldier who has sacrificed his life for the country.
Wed, 25 May 2016 15:53:03 -0500The sophisticated war machines of today are the culmination of hundreds of years of designs and innovations. Probably nothing can match the hours of work and the number of people who have set themselves the task of perfecting those in existence or creating new ones. War seems like a game of testing them out and each time one country gets an advantage over another there is someone who is prepared to pass on the technology to others.
Mon, 23 May 2016 08:12:46 -0500Introduction I will, in this article, narrate the account of a famous last stand by the Sikh Regiment of the Indian army on 12 September 1897 at Saragrahi, now in Pakistan. We have heard, read and seen on celluloid the feat of 300 Spartan soldiers who held at bay a much larger Persian force. This episode has been made into a film by Hollywood titled "300" and showcases the bravery of the soldiers of Sparta who held a force of 50000 Persian soldiers under the command of Emperor Xerxes at the mouth of a pass at the Messina mountains...
Thu, 19 May 2016 07:04:01 -0500Dave, a U.S. Marine serving in Vietnam, heard a gun shot come from the tent next to his. He ran over to see what had happened. Inside, he found his friend, Bob sitting on his bunk with his head on shoulders slumped over.

Tue, 05 Apr 2016 15:12:52 -0500Veterans from the Viet Nam war were "drafted" and really did not have much say in joining the armed services. Other wars are for those who wish to join, of their own accord, and fulfill their service to their country. In either case, no veteran should ever go hungry, or live on a street, or suffer physical, mental or emotional problems without getting the guidance and help they deserve. Charity always begins at home and while migrants and illegal immigrants may need some assistance, our veterans deserve and should get our full attention and resources.
Tue, 22 Mar 2016 11:55:19 -0500One of the most significant events in any soldier's life is when they come under contact for the first time. How do they prepare, react and cope with the event?
Tue, 08 Mar 2016 11:56:05 -0600It is obvious that the South Vietnamese alone were not capable of withstanding the Viet Cong. The fighters of the DRV had shown its fighting prowess at Dien Bien Phu in 1954 and had won battles against South Vietnamese soldiers even when outnumbered four to one. Without increased involvement from the USA, the south would indeed fall.
Wed, 02 Mar 2016 06:49:20 -0600The Beginning - I flew in from abroad (Singapore) to attend the OROP sammelan of Ex -Servicemen at Azad Maidan on 31 October 2015 at Mumbai. I am well ensconced, but at the same time very concerned about implementation of OROP. I have a case that haunts me.
Mon, 29 Feb 2016 11:03:10 -0600I visited the Al Ain Zoo about 150 km from Abu Dhabi. This article is not about the zoo, but about a particular species of crocodile called the saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus). This is a saltwater species, something of which I was not aware.
Fri, 19 Feb 2016 06:32:27 -0600A casual stroll within the ramparts of a large cemetery could very well divulge a number of headstones containing one or two coins resting upon them which have been left by visitors to that particular grave. There is a significant rationale behind this practice of leaving a coin on the gravestone of those people especially if the individual within the grave happens to be an American military member who died while on duty. You will discover that the connotation surrounding the coins tend to vary depending upon the denomination of coin left at the grave.
Wed, 17 Feb 2016 11:35:58 -0600After leaving the military, many things, small and large, stick with you. After all, being in the military is not so much an occupation as a way of life. The soldier's feared Report of Survey happens mainly when property is lost, stolen, or missing. In a humorous way this short piece shows how the report of survey mentality follows a veteran for life.
Mon, 15 Feb 2016 15:58:17 -0600Our ability to live freely, express our views, and go to sleep without any fear is due to the men and women of our armed forces who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. The services of our military troops from the beginning of our country until today and those who will continue to protect us in the future should never be forgotten.
Wed, 03 Feb 2016 06:19:01 -0600Our Military and National Security research agencies like DARPA and IARPA get a good amount of their technology from the private sector as hand-me-downs, and although you might think such technology as second rate, often the security or military application solves real problems when it comes to "dual-use" innovative technology. Indeed, I've written a great deal on this topic and often see other uses for technology that even those doing the research may not have considered. Let's talk and let me give you an example.
Tue, 26 Jan 2016 11:21:21 -0600When a citizen chooses to serve in the military force, it's not a regular office job, but a unique way of life that affects the entire family. The families of the military personnel and children of veterans face a distinct set of challenges, and it is our responsibility to find ways to support military members. Not only does it help to recognize the heartfelt sacrifice of men and women in uniform, but it also gives a much-needed helping hand to families struggling on the home front.
Mon, 25 Jan 2016 14:08:58 -0600The "Chevron" is an architectural term to denote the rafters of a roof that meet at an angle forming the upper apex. It began being used in various forms as a symbol of rank of knights or men-at-arms. It is believed that the "Chevron" was originally given as an award to a knight to show he had captured a castle, town or other building (hence the resemblance to a roof), from there it began being used as an insignia by the military.
Tue, 12 Jan 2016 06:53:54 -0600You might have come to notice people wearing metal tags with weird writings on them, especially when you see a military personnel. Those necklaces are known as "dog tags" and have been around for quite some time, going as far back as 1851 during the Taiping Revolt.
Thu, 07 Jan 2016 07:16:34 -0600The results of battles and how they affect immigration, settlements and industry. The story of a drummer, the son of Loyalists, who fought in the Revolutionary War and how that changed the lives of his Scottish clan and the American frontier.
Mon, 04 Jan 2016 10:21:24 -0600Mahmud of Ghazni is a much reviled character in Hindu literature, while Muslims bring out that he defeated the "Hindus". The Hindu writers portray him as a destroyer of temples. No wonder the Pakistanis have named one of their missiles as Ghaznavi.
Thu, 31 Dec 2015 15:56:35 -0600On paper and in history, the Korean War was seen as neither a victory or a loss. A cease fire and peace treaty was written between them instead. The battles went on for 3 long years. On July 27, 1953 the two sides signed an armistice and a new border was established on a few miles from the original 1950 border. In my opinion, the Korean Conflict/War was a "success" in ways other than the original goals set by the United States.
Mon, 21 Dec 2015 09:20:58 -0600Britain is building two new aircraft carriers. They are eagerly awaited, and will end a period during which the Royal Navy has lacked this type of warship. The first vessel to enter service is to be named: HMS Queen Elizabeth, after England's longest serving monarch. The second warship is to be named: HMS Prince of Wales, after the present heir to the throne. However, the last ship of that name had an unfortunate history, and if, as many sailors believe, a name can jinx a ship, another name might be better received.
Wed, 16 Dec 2015 08:15:05 -0600Germany's Iron Chancellor Otto von Bismarck was an acute observer of life: "People never lie so much as after a hunt, during a war, or before an election." What about before a war, Herr Bismarck? There is a commonly held belief that in terms of the unthinkable NATO America has the edge on modern Russia. This self-delusion is on a par with the 'home by Christmas' canard spouted at the outbreak of the Great War 1914 ~ 1918. The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) was ostensibly created in 1949 to thwart Soviet ambitions. Its role now appears to be the marketing arm of America's vast arms industry. NATO certainly takes the gold medal at starting conflicts many of which are ignited in defiance of international law. However, it is remarkably inept at ending them.
Thu, 10 Dec 2015 13:07:18 -0600The Western Powers are now engaged in perpetual war. Few Britons or Americans have known a month when their country was not directly or indirectly involved in conflict. Rudyard Kipling, Britain's greatest poet, who lost his only son in World War One, was scathing: 'If any question why we died, Tell them, because our fathers lied." Disregard Orwellian mantras such as 'The War on Terror' and similar smokescreens. Conflict is fueled, not by idealism, but by pursuit of market share, territory and raw material. Global war is the most profitable venture of all man's pursuits. Western economies are largely based upon arms related investment, raw material acquisition and profits.
Thu, 10 Dec 2015 09:23:26 -0600Back in November of this year, an Uber driver opened up about his three sons being in the army. He said, "these men and women don't come back the same as when they left." I started to think about all the norms associated with our veterans. Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are what is usually seen in the news. I did a little more research into what other disorders our veterans develop to see if epilepsy or seizures were among them. So do our veterans come home and develop epilepsy?
Thu, 10 Dec 2015 07:20:58 -0600"My Dearest Kathleen, This is a last letter before I cross over the border into Spain. I will post it in the border town and then I will be on Spanish territory. This is a terrible long journey we are on now - about 15-hours." There is a poignancy about letters written during times we can scarcely identify with. The letter was written to my mother, then my father's fiance, before a clandestine mountain crossing into Spain where Civil War raged. Father and his companions had hitch-hiked from England to Spain as members of the International Brigade to fight Fascism.
Thu, 10 Dec 2015 07:10:25 -0600The fiercest battles of World War Two took place along the Eastern Front. The Front reached back to Germany through Russia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, the Balkans, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, and the Baltic States. Throughout these sombre landscapes, where Europe's best gave their lives to free Europe from the scourge of the Bolshevik-Washington DC alliance, grave robbers thrive. Known as black archaeologists these scavengers are constantly engaged in searching for military artefacts. These macabre souvenirs are then sold throughout Europe and U.S. There seems to be an inexhaustible appetite for such ghoulish objects. Other than the dangers of unexploded devices and the horror of exhuming human remains, paranormal events are often experienced by researchers when engaged in their chilling pursuits.
Mon, 07 Dec 2015 09:44:38 -0600Although they were the most highly decorated unit in the U.S. Army during World War II for their size and length of service, Japanese Americans were denied most of the highest military honors for which they were recommended. George Sakato was one who received the Medal of Honor many years later.

The historical site where this battle took place is preserved at the Dade Battlefield Historic State park in Bushnell Florida. To learn more about this battle and its significance it is necessary to go back to the 1830's.
Mon, 23 Nov 2015 13:32:20 -0600Commentators will debate how much blame Obama's hands-off policy and Bush's hands-on policy should bear for the global terrorism mess we find ourselves in today. The point of this commentary is to question whether things would have turned out meaningfully different if we had instead elected other leaders from the pool of presidential candidates since the events of 9/11.
Wed, 18 Nov 2015 05:54:41 -0600I am tired of seeing the United States fighting wars. The war in the Middle East should be fought by countries in that area. It is time to rethink the ISIS situation and I would like to propose an answer to the problem.
Tue, 17 Nov 2015 08:47:58 -0600As the world spins out of control where savage factions reign terror through-out the globe humanity is drawn into the savage jungle once more. For the past few decades insurgents have systematically and ruthlessly attack civil societies. The savage brutality in random assaults displaying an utter contempt for the sanctity of life is so apparent with every atrocity committed.

Thu, 12 Nov 2015 15:21:47 -0600November is a special time of year for those who've served our country in the armed services. Each November 11th we as a people set aside a day to give thanks to the men and women who have fought and served our nation. No matter what your political affiliation, soldiers are a group of people who undergo extreme hardship and stress, and are deserving of respect for putting their lives on the line. We should all have a special selection to honor the troops past and present.
Sat, 07 Nov 2015 12:10:00 -0600Who wins an arms race? It is a race right? So there can be a winner and loser right? Well, not so fast. The nation who spends the most may win, or they may not, the nation that is most efficient in their expenditures has a better advantage but may have a smaller economy to tax to do it? Any nation who enters into an arms race accepts the expense to its society, economy and civilization. Any nation under threat that doesn't could lose their civilization if it goes to war, and also loses its ability to do hardcore international negotiations, trade deals, etc. which can hurt its treasury and economic vitality. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Okay so, let's talk.

Tue, 03 Nov 2015 14:44:45 -0600Complete with embedded wireless capabilities, high-speed circuits and high definition graphical interfaces, modern military hardware is becoming increasingly complex. Growing technological complexities are in turn making them vulnerable to radio frequency interference (RFI) threats - a kind of electronic disturbance that can be produced by a range of electronic or electromechanical devices including personal computer and computer games, medical instruments, industrial controls and many more. The radiated energy or electronic noise often affects the performance of sensitive defense equipment such as computer windows, displays on global positioning systems and military vehicles.

Thu, 15 Oct 2015 14:06:20 -05001 to 0.1 for the Russians, 0 for Westerners. This is the score - at least for the moment of this dangerous game that is played in Syria and in this country, which could lead the Russia and the United States on the edge of confrontation.
Wed, 14 Oct 2015 06:23:47 -0500As Mark twain once explained, "History doesn't repeat itself but it rhymes." The Russian and Iranian military thrust into Syria with their version of "shock & awe" are grabbing headlines worldwide but in reality are simply "screaming into the wind" in a brutal armed cauldron that will eventually swallow their resources and eventually their will. The upcoming humiliating military defeats and resulting domestic political backlashes will tarnish and then challenge the leaderships in Russia and Iran.
Fri, 09 Oct 2015 07:43:38 -0500The Swastika was used by the US military in two main contexts. During the 1st World War American fighter pilots volunteered to fight alongside the French on the Western Front; they served in the unit known as the Escadrille Lafayette, in honour of the revolutionary Marquis de Lafayette. Black Swastikas were often emblazoned on the sides of the fuselage. Up until 1939 a division of the US National Guard had a gold Swastika as part of their insignia

Fri, 02 Oct 2015 09:05:12 -0500After three years of hostilities creating millions of refugees, the conflict in Syria has just become much more complex through the intervention of the Russians in support of beleaguered President Asad. Although said to be targeting ISIL like the coalition air forces, the Russian aircraft appear to be attacking other anti-Asad groups, some of which have been trained and equipped by the USA. Observers are asserting that President Putin's move has disrupted western strategy and attempts are being made to coordinate Russian and coalition air movements to avoid accidental conflict. It is certain that western military analysts will be closely monitoring Russian air activities and they will already have noted with mixed feelings that Russian smart bombs are not so smart.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 13:33:55 -0500It is said that events all through-out history have dictated the actions and reactions of ordinary human beings to extraordinary things. In doing so they have also rewrote history. Born in 1880 in Arkansas Douglas MacArthur would become one of histories most decorated military Generals.
Tue, 29 Sep 2015 06:55:40 -0500Russia is the new player in the Middle Syria, in Syria, flaunting a bevy of cutting-edge weaponry to use on a despicable foe called ISIS. However this effort is certainly not humanitarian in any way, rather purely political and strategic as Russia attempts to re-enter the world stage beyond the Near Abroad.
Tue, 29 Sep 2015 06:37:07 -0500Once our earth was filled with green fields that were kissed by the sun. Once there were blue skies filled with white clouds gently floating high above. Once there were valleys where fresh clean water used to run.
Thu, 17 Sep 2015 12:47:49 -0500In the village at that era, adults did not give reasons for disciplining children. Figure it out, they would say. In retrospect, the smack was an omen, the beginning of an impending horror.
Wed, 16 Sep 2015 14:58:55 -0500During World War II, Japanese Americans were incarcerated in camps which were built in remote areas of the United States. It was unjust treatment simply for being ethnic Japanese. It was due to discrimination and prejudice.

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 06:34:20 -0500What follows are further extracts from an ongoing on-line debate I engaged in about the alleged UFO crash near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947. The extracts have been edited so as to be meaningful as standalone paragraphs. Some previous knowledge about the Roswell event would probably be useful.

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 10:50:00 -0500On 15 August 1945, 70 years ago, the USS Concord, a four-stack light cruiser assigned to the Northern Pacific Ocean, fired the LAST shot of World War II. If you ask, "What's in a name?" the men aboard the Concord were well aware that their ship was named for the Massachusetts town where the FIRST ordered shot of the American Revolution was fired in 1775--the famous "shot heard 'round the world."
Mon, 06 Jul 2015 10:14:03 -0500When I was completing my Honors degree in Physics at the Kurukshetra University in Haryana, I often used to visit the town of Thanesar which almost adjoins the university. Later I came to know that about 10 miles away from Thanesar is the village of Tarain, where 2 momentous battles took place between the Rajput's and Mohammed of Ghor also called Mohammed Ghori. Mohammed Ghori's real name was Muizz ad-din-Muhammed.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 06:49:43 -0500Plurality is the nature of India - so is with Indian Armed Forces. People from different regions, languages, cultures and heritage get together for the only objective - safeguarding the Indian boundaries. Yes, the success of Indian Armed Force lies in the unity of soldiers. Every individual in general - and the nation as a whole - can draw inspiration from the Indian Armed Forces. "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan" was a popular slogan given to India by the then Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri, in 1965, at a public gathering at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi. The importance of soldiers and farmers was symbolised in this way to the nation. Nevertheless, both the farmers and the soldiers are remembered only during the crisis and calamities. At least - don't ever make mockery of the true spirit in soldiers and their services to the nation. Jai Hind!!

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 09:19:11 -0500The history of the world has always been written in blood. Blood spilled through countless acts of aggression, greed and lust. Mon, 08 Jun 2015 06:31:38 -0500A Soldier reaches his 6 year Troop Program Unit (TPU) anniversary. According to the Soldier's contract, he has 2 years of Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) time. His Unit Administrator (UA) prepares his IRR packet, has the Soldier sign it, then tells the soldier that he is "good". The Soldier "does not" have to drill because his IRR packet is being processed and forwarded. The following year, that same unit orders that Soldier to return to drill. What went wrong?
Fri, 29 May 2015 12:59:42 -0500"What is the transition? The transition is a slapstick comedy routine starring The Three Stooges. However, instead of calling them Larry, Curly and Moe, they are named, Who You Were, Who You Are and Who You Really Need To Be In This Situation."
Tue, 26 May 2015 06:59:31 -0500In no other time in the history of the United States has there ever been such a furor to cut the defense budget. The proposals that are being considered and are currently in place leaves this nation's preparedness for any eventuality whether another terrorist attack or natural disaster anywhere American lives are at risk in serious jeopardy. Granted there are inlays within the defense budget that need to be either trimmed or eliminated all together but the pervasive attitude in Washington today by our illustrious Republicans is that budget cuts at all costs will save America.
