The Atonement

Fri, 26 May 2017 09:24:26 -0500

The Incarnation of God in Jesus Christ IS the atonement for sin. Sin is not the breaking of a law in which a fine or jail time is required. Sin is an illness. Therefore, what is required is not legal punishments and fines, but HEALING.

Sodom and Gomorrah - What Needs to Be Said

Fri, 26 May 2017 09:22:39 -0500

Let's dispel once and for all the misunderstanding that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is a story about condemning homosexuality. The Story of Sodom and Gomorrah is a story condemning gang-rape, not sex.

Your Enemies Are Worthy of Your Love - Deal With It

Fri, 26 May 2017 09:20:50 -0500

If Jesus tells us to love our enemies, but you refuse to love them, and deem them unworthy of your love, or you simply are unwilling to love them, then where does that place you in relation to Jesus? Doesn't your refusal to love even your enemies make you an enemy of Christ?

Waiting for the Power

Thu, 25 May 2017 15:20:13 -0500

What's one of the hardest things you have ever had to do? For most of us, the answer is waiting, especially if we are sitting in a doctor's waiting room. Frustration soon sets in. The disciples felt the same way, especially when Jesus told them to wait in Jerusalem for the power He said would be coming to them.

The Story of Easter Is Wrong

Thu, 25 May 2017 14:27:04 -0500

The story of Easter is usually expressed as the story of a dead man coming back to life. If this is what it is, then the story of Easter is wrong.

The Abomination Of Desolation And The End Of The Age

Tue, 23 May 2017 14:23:39 -0500

Bible experts all over the world have taught the tribulation referred to in Matthew is a seven-year period during which the Anti-Christ is present on the earth. We believe there is a time coming referred to as "the time of Jacob's troubles" and a period of great wrath but we're going to prove here that Jesus was not talking about a seven year period of tribulation but the beginning of a time of Tribulation that would span over 1300 years into our own present day.

The Nature of Death

Mon, 22 May 2017 10:14:12 -0500

To begin this study we must look first at the nature of death, or what we are resurrected from. If we have a misunderstanding or a false belief of the true nature of death, we will also not fully understand the power of the resurrection. When we were created, our bodies were created to live forever, so what went wrong? Where did death come from and why was it allowed to take control?

Self-Initiated Faith

Sun, 21 May 2017 13:40:23 -0500

How many of us know all about Faith, but when we need to exercise that Faith, we revert to feelings and emotions. To counter that action, we get together with other Believers and "piggy back" on their Faith.

These Are Good Theories: The Failure of the God Hypothesis

Sat, 20 May 2017 09:27:16 -0500

The origin of our Universe, what set off what is commonly referred to as the Big Bang event, the immediate happening just before the Big Bang event, is currently one of those areas of uncertainty in modern cosmology. So theists propose a theological alternative - God done it. While it is impossible to - as yet - prove that God didn't do it, the God Hypothesis is a very weak explanation at best.

How to Reach and Teach the Unchurched

Sat, 20 May 2017 09:15:48 -0500

Have you ever wondered how you can reach and teach people who don't know Christ? If so, you can learn from the example Paul used in the passage from Acts 17:22-31.

Salvation Gospel: Except You Repent

Fri, 19 May 2017 09:00:18 -0500

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to deliver man from his sinful state of life and consequential punishment in hell fire. Jesus emphasised the importance of repentance in the salvation of man's soul from everlasting death, when He said,"... except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish"- Luke 13:3, 5.

The Right Station

Thu, 18 May 2017 21:27:21 -0500

But it's still not easy to act wisely. Last night my daughter forgot to upload the sketch for the Crossroad message that had to be sent out.

An Audience of One

Thu, 18 May 2017 15:12:42 -0500

Popularity seems to be the theme of the day. A problem arises when there is a tendency to do or say something just to please the crowd.

Don't Sweat the Small Faith Stuff

Thu, 18 May 2017 15:12:13 -0500

In terms of Christianity, differences can divide people into two groups-those who have weak faith, and those whose faith is strong. Those who have strong faith are to accept and help those who are slipping in their faith. We see an example of how differences in faith can divide people in the passage from Romans 14:1-12.

Dr D Martyn Lloyd-Jones - Evangelist Extraordinaire

Thu, 18 May 2017 14:45:38 -0500

Lloyd-Jones shared the soteriology of Calvin and Baxter. This understanding provided a solid basis for preaching the Gospel, assured that the Biblical message to a lost and guilty and condemned world was faithfully proclaimed.

Dr D Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Thu, 18 May 2017 14:44:45 -0500

Rev. Dr D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones' belief and preaching of the Gospel is a matter of much rejoicing among evangelicals throughout the world. His proclamation of the Cross as God's way of reconciliation was unparalleled. Many around the world owe much to him for the positive influence he has had on their lives and ministries.

The Gospel of the Bible - Dr D Martyn Lloyd-Jones' Evangelistic Preaching

Thu, 18 May 2017 14:44:09 -0500

Rev. Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones is a preacher who gets to the very heart of the Biblical text and brings out its message with great grace and convicting power. His passion for Christ and the Gospel is unequaled. While he expounded the Scriptures, he held the attention of very large congregations as God's Spirit gripped their minds and hearts.

Martyn Lloyd-Jones - Background Insight

Thu, 18 May 2017 14:43:30 -0500

Dr D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, the patriotic Welshman and evangelist, was born into the spiritually privileged nation of Wales that had all but lost its interest in divine visitations. Its honoured past had an incalculable influences for good on the life and ministry of Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones. This brief insight shows a little of what conditions were like in the early 1900s.

Why Are Christians So Divided? Part 4

Thu, 18 May 2017 08:38:23 -0500

As a convert, I wondered why Christians who read the same Bible had so many denominations and differences, trying to convince each other that their doctrine is the only correct one? I asked myself the question how or why Christians were so divided on the Word of God when the Trinity of God is in harmony with it. I found the answer in the Bible itself...

Why Are Christians So Divided? Part 3

Why Are Christians So Divided? Part 1

Thu, 18 May 2017 08:24:26 -0500

As a convert, I wondered why Christians who read the same Bible had so many denominations and differences, trying to convince each other that their doctrine is the only correct one? Why The Jew?

Wed, 17 May 2017 20:15:42 -0500

The gentiles-the goyim-the Infidel; they think they know about the Jews. It's all about the International Jew Conspiracy; the Rothschilds; the Rockefellers and the Roosevelts and others (who are all really, actually Jews). But they really don't know the Jew at all.

Pray to Call Reinforcements

Tue, 16 May 2017 13:38:28 -0500

Ester tells the story of the seven-year old who prayed: "Lord, please be with those people who are less privileged than us and also those who are more privileged than us." What an insight from this young person!

Decision-Making Partner

Tue, 16 May 2017 13:38:00 -0500

A young man is in trouble. He stole money, not a lot, just a R100, and now he is in trouble.

Plugging Into the Word

Sun, 14 May 2017 13:08:23 -0500

Spiritual principles are becoming scarcer in our Country, and the reason is that more and more Christians are neglecting to open their Bibles on a regular basis. We need to get back to the visible Word of God. We need the "two edged sword" to separate our comfort zone from the reality of the Word.

Joseph Smith - A Man Like Unto Moses? Assessment of a Man Called a Prophet of God

Sat, 13 May 2017 16:13:39 -0500

It is a real shame that most people, calling themselves Christians, don't make it a regular habit of reading and studying the Holy Bible, the source of all information about Jesus Christ, God of heaven and earth, the resurrected Savior of the world of whom they claim to be disciples. In that wonderful book of books, holy scripture was given by inspiration of God to Jesus' chosen Apostles and prophets detailing the things that would occur during the latter days of the earth. The Apostle Peter, in 2 Peter 2: 1-3 (KJV), stated prophetically some very important facts about the days following the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. He said, 'But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that brought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways: by reason of whom the way shall be evil spoken of." There are many proofs that Joseph Smith, Jr. and Mormonism, are a portion of the fulfillment of Peter's terse words. Read on for an explication of this issue...

These Are Good Theories: God Willingly Created Sin And Evil

Fri, 12 May 2017 07:31:00 -0500

Given that there is sin and evil in the world, one obvious question is why. And where does the buck stop for the actual existence of sin and evil, or for that matter of good and evil? The buck stops with God - assuming there actually is a God of course. Or of course it could just be all put down to pure human imagination and another case history within the realm of pure mythology.

Some Anti-Theist Religious Bits & Pieces: Round Fourteen: Part Two

Thu, 11 May 2017 07:13:34 -0500

Of all of those Big Questions central to philosophical concepts that surround life, the universe and everything, the realms of theology and religions and the nature of deities continue to fascinate. Opinions proliferate in books, articles, videos, conversations in bars and pubs, and in fact anywhere and everywhere two or more humans are in proximity. There's the pro side; there's the anti-side. There aren't too many fence-sitters. I'm still in the anti-camp as the following bits and pieces illustrate.

Some Anti-Theist Religious Bits & Pieces: Round Fourteen: Part One

Thu, 11 May 2017 07:13:09 -0500

Philosophical concepts that surround life, the universe and everything, including those realms of theology, religions and the nature of deities continue to fascinate. Opinions proliferate. There's the theist pro side; there's the atheist anti-side. There aren't too many fence-sitters. I'm still in the anti-camp as the following fourteenth helping of "Religious Bits and Pieces" illustrate. [Note: Due to length I'll divide this into two parts.]

Christian Religions Are Those of Islam

Mon, 08 May 2017 21:10:34 -0500

It's hard to understand and even harder for those who practice religious faith to understand but Islam is the first religion and the one that all others are built upon. That includes Christianity and its Muslim branch and all of their associated off-spring. My research and information is the result of memory of reincarnation and passage from life-to-life while having a close connection to the Spirit of the Universe, the only real God.

God's Stories Bear Fruit

Mon, 08 May 2017 07:57:30 -0500

When God is in the room, things happen. When God appears, things cannot stay the same.

What Is Your Legacy?

Mon, 08 May 2017 07:56:11 -0500

Sometimes we play the game of life so hard that we play ourselves into a corner, forcing us to take a break. And in this corner of life we usually end up considering questions like: What is the meaning of life?

The Establishment Set Up by the One With the Number 666

Mon, 08 May 2017 06:58:17 -0500

Humans are generally a misguided group of non-thinking sheep who follow leaders even if it means death. Something in our psyche makes us conform this way and it is the exploitation of this behaviour that built up the establishment governed by 666. Religions call their followers sheep while the brain-washed officials that govern them are highly educated but distinctly stupid.

Playing at a Church Near You

Sun, 07 May 2017 17:33:02 -0500

How is our memory bank paying out dividends from the message that was presented last week? How do we respond to the life-giving message from God's representative? Do we move from our tangible seats into involvement in the message?

The Example of the Early Church

Thu, 04 May 2017 18:49:32 -0500

Have you ever wondered what heaven is like? Acts 2:42-47 offers us a glimpse of heaven here on earth. The early believers joined together in faith, hope and love in the very best ways possible. The reading from Acts is a picture of the early church. It suggests what the Holy Spirit can do.

Worrying Steals Energy

Thu, 04 May 2017 07:22:26 -0500

It's Monday morning. I wake long before 5 o'clock. My stomach is churning and I worry about the three months ahead. I have so many irons in the fire. I'm afraid that things won't work out as we had planned. I'm worried that the finances aren't going to work out. I'm afraid of failing.

Holi - The Science Behind The Festival

Tue, 02 May 2017 09:17:19 -0500

This article shares the story behind the celebration of the Holi festival along with the logical reason of using colors during this beautiful festival. This article also throws some light on how Holi was earlier celebrated with natural colors unlike the chemical based colors used these days. It also urges its readers to switch to natural and herbal Holi colors and save themselves from the harmful effects of chemical based Holi Colors.

Near Death Experiences, The Bible, and Reality

Mon, 01 May 2017 14:59:05 -0500

People who have had near death experiences experienced events similar to biblical teaching. Does this give a new sense of reality to what the bible teaches?

Strength for One More Day

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:07:20 -0500

A friend of mine did not agree with the previous message. It made it seem as if Jesus is a quick fix.

More Strength for One More Day

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:07:10 -0500

I want to say something more about this verse - it has too much meaning to only write about it once or twice. It would make life so much easier if we could really understand it and integrate it fully into our being.

A Tough One

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:07:02 -0500

I didn't want to write about this for fear of stepping on some toes. But it weighs on me and I can't keep quiet.

Sweet Smells

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:06:56 -0500

I am one of a large family and sometimes when we had guests my mom thought there wouldn't be enough (which obviously never happened). Then she would send a code around the table: FHB - family, hold back!

All Glory to Our Father

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:06:41 -0500

I'm totally strung out. It's Sunday evening and I'm tossing and turning, thinking about the week ahead.

Free Naartjies for You

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:06:40 -0500

The people who helped Paul were also suffering hardship, but there was a huge promise for them: 19You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus. Our cell group fetched a bin full of naartjies from a De Doorns farmer.

Family Ducking the Curve Balls

Sometimes you feel alone. Sometimes you feel you won't make it.

Receive the Blessing and Pass It on

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:05:42 -0500

Friends of mine run a harvest protection business. I know this business very well, because when I farmed in the nineties, they helped me keep the vines and harvest healthy.

My Stress and God's Peace

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:05:01 -0500

Paul was in jail. He probably had a visit from Epaphras, who had planted the congregation in Colossae.

The Pictures We Make

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:04:42 -0500

Right at the start of his letter to the people of Colossae Paul expressed his amazement. He takes his hat off to this group of young Christians who after hearing the Gospel felt compelled to grab hold of it, to believe in a living God.

A Coat Against the Cold

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:04:20 -0500

Jakkie writes from Namibia: The previous Crossroad message reminded me of a day shortly after I opened my shop. It was a Tuesday, mid-way through the month, sales had been pathetic and I was feeling very low.

Faith and Love in a Hopeless World

Mon, 01 May 2017 08:04:04 -0500

I read the verse over and over again, not making much sense of it: 5 Your faith and love have arisen from the hope laid up for you in heaven, which you have heard about in the message of truth, the gospel 6 that has come to you (New English Translation). Eventually, I take a pen and write it down.

The Organic Word

Mon, 01 May 2017 07:59:59 -0500

Believers hold in their hands the most powerful set of "seeds" the world has ever offered. Over forty seed distributors are listed in the Word of God. There are 31,173 verses (KJV) that have the potential to produce a life filled with abundant harvest. It is up to us to plant those seeds.

To Charge Flat Batteries

Mon, 01 May 2017 07:59:45 -0500

One thing that realy irritates me is when I sit down on the couch, pick up the remote to switch on the TV, and nothing happens when I press the buttons. Usually I then push them even harder, as if I want to push them right through the remote, but nothing happens...

The Scourge of Private Biblical Interpretation, The Holy Spirit, the Truth, and the Making of Cults

Mon, 01 May 2017 07:45:37 -0500

Just because a man, a mere human being, calling himself a prophet starts a sect, or church, based upon his proclamation that scriptures of the Holy Bible mean something very different from what Christian biblical scholars through the ages have established as their meaning, does not mean that what he is saying is the truth. Pagan cults have arisen in the 19th and 20th Centuries predicated upon their perversions of the scriptures of the Holy Bible. and there have been millions of struggling Christians who have been deceived into believing these lies and false doctrine. How does one know that the biblical scriptures used by these cults have been privately and falsely interpreted, and that the doctrines proclaimed by these cults are doctrines of devils? Read on for an explication in this essay article of these issues...

Believing in an Entity Higher Than the Soul

Mon, 01 May 2017 07:25:24 -0500

True theism requires scientific proof of the existence of God, benefit of endeavoring to develop faith in His existence and method to realize Him. This essay aims at providing logical explanation of all these points.

Supreme Goal - Pursuit Of God

Fri, 28 Apr 2017 13:09:25 -0500

Many personal goals today aim for pleasure, wealth, possessions, successful relationships, improved health and a whole lot more. These goals are often moved by the belief that once we fill the void in ourselves, we shall be complete and fulfilled. What a terrible, misplaced belief! And the more people follow this belief real contentment never arrives. What's missing? The supreme goal of the pursuit of finding God, and of being found by him. What does this pursuit mean?

My 2017 Easter Message

Mon, 24 Apr 2017 08:48:38 -0500

On Easter Sunday, I had one of my rare sessions of watching television. In about two years, I can count the number of times I have watched TV in my house on my fingers.

Corrective Teaching

Sun, 23 Apr 2017 21:43:31 -0500

To dare offer a different interpretation of Scripture is to face rejection and alienation from the Believing community. It is hard to understand why people are such defenders of misinterpreted Scripture.

An Appeal to Parents of San Diego City Public School Students - Stop the Lies About Islam

Sun, 23 Apr 2017 10:10:33 -0500

The term "Islamophobia" has been wrongly applied to any other viable state of mind, or understanding, by U.S. citizens about Islam and the Koran than that promulgated by Muslim apologists on the mainstream American media. As such, the information about Islam and the Koran disseminated as true fact by representatives of such organizations as the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an unindicted terrorist co-conspirator as determined and ordered by the FBI and USDOJ, must be judiciously examined by every member of the American electorate to determine its truthfulness about the theocratic-political system known as Islam, and the verses contained in the Koran, the book of Islamic scripture created in the 6th Century by Mohammad, known as the Islamic prophet. The San Diego, California Unified School District is currently using the propaganda disseminated by CAIR to create a mandate for elementary, middle-school, and high school students to be indoctrinated in the classroom with false information about Islam, Shariah law, and the Koran, while negating Christianity and Judaism. The Christian parents of these students should act immediately to put a stop to this barrage of false information about a very violent and hateful system of belief.

Trust God, and He Will Be With Us

Fri, 21 Apr 2017 15:35:46 -0500

Psalm 16 is an expression of God's care and presence We will not rot in the grave. We know a life that is stronger than death. God has shown us the way of life, and we enjoy the pleasures of living with God now and forever. When we sense God's presence in our lives, we enjoy the pleasures of living with God now and forever, and we can face the challenges of life because we know that God is with us.

Man Can Do Things His Way or He Can Do Things God's Way - Which Way Might It Be for You?

Fri, 21 Apr 2017 11:19:58 -0500

We are living in what might be described as a liberal day, when it is the custom to question and argue and debate and rebel and refuse to obey. If these people under the dynamic leadership of Moses at that time had rebelled and disobeyed they would have paid a similar price as those in Egyptian households. The Hebrew people were safe and secure in the lamb, and the lamb would nourish them for what lay ahead. If all this were not historically accurate, and theologically true, why would Jesus Christ bother celebrating Passover the night before He died? These Hebrew slaves had to apply the blood to their own doorposts. I cannot apply the blood of Jesus Christ to your life, any more than Moses could apply it for them. Each individual person must assume that spiritual responsibility, before it is too late.

Repent, Be Saved and Be Healed

Thu, 20 Apr 2017 09:16:37 -0500

Countless people who place their faith in Christ say that their first and most evident emotion is the sense of having a burden lifted from them. The idea of repentance applies to us today. The Scriptures state that if we do not hear God's Word and repent, we will be destroyed. We have a choice, and we should choose the offer of mercy and embrace the Messiah. If we do, we will receive the same power of the Holy Spirit. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we will also be able to accomplish so much for the Kingdom while we are here on earth.

One Sacrifice for Sins

Wed, 19 Apr 2017 09:00:25 -0500

Hebrews 10:12 "But when this Priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God". The problem of mankind (humans, animals, nature) were solved by just one perfect sacrifice offered by God Himself in human form in the person of Christ Jesus. The root cause of man's problem was sin and sin was dealt with by Christ Jesus once for all.

Spiritual Democracy

Sat, 15 Apr 2017 10:30:13 -0500

Some times we make rash decisions based on incomplete facts. Nowhere is this more evident then with label wearing Christians. To take Scripture out of context to support preconceived notions serves not only as a deterrent to spiritual growth, but also a hindrance to those outside of the Faith.

Cultivating Godly Habits

Wed, 12 Apr 2017 09:53:30 -0500

After his final class for the day, Bola walked into the school's cafeteria to fetch himself a meal for lunch. Excited about being newly admitted into this prestigious institution with great intellects as students, Bola had his meal with a feeling of self -fulfillment. Not sooner than he had finished doing justice to his meal, he saw a medical student who had sat close to him throw an empty container of a drink he had just finished on the floor, while a trash can was two tables away.

Under His Wings

Wed, 12 Apr 2017 08:12:05 -0500

We all feel the need for protection - from storms, theft, pain, etc. We can find that protection "under His wings".

If Jesus Rose From The Dead

Wed, 12 Apr 2017 08:10:18 -0500

If - then there are definitely some very serious issues to consider. But you might reply by saying, 'Sure, but that "if" assumes way too much - no one really knows.' But to say 'no one really knows' is also a huge assumption. So, at least, will you consider some of these reasons that support Jesus' resurrection.

Worried? God Never Lets Go!

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 15:06:10 -0500

Wow, we've spent some time discussing worrying and God, but there's more. This is good, because I think most of us, if not all of us, are flattened by worrying now and then.

A Giving Heart

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 15:05:37 -0500

Paul is in jail and the congregation he is writing to has sent him a present. He is so grateful: 10I'm glad in God, far happier than you would ever guess-happy that you're again showing such strong concern for me.

Peace Where There Is No Peace

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 15:05:22 -0500

Paul has experienced both sides of life. He has done this so often that it was actually too much.

Disputes and Differences

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 08:09:37 -0500

We're all made differently. We look different, do different, talk different, and see things differently.

Hitches and Glitches

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 08:09:16 -0500

I can think of hundreds of examples where the children of the Lord gained lots of ground for the Kingdom simply to lose it all when stepping into a big hole along the way. All the good work deleted in one stroke.

Like a Jack Russell

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 08:06:21 -0500

A friend of mine is with CBMC, a Christian business group that meets weekly, helping one another to live closer to the Lord in the business world where things are not always being easy as well. But they do not only grow inwards.

You and Me

Tue, 11 Apr 2017 08:05:07 -0500

Paul starts the last chapter of his letter to the people in Philippa as follows: 1My dear, dear friends! I love you so much.

Forgiveness And Retribution From A Christian Perspective

Mon, 10 Apr 2017 07:57:14 -0500

Catholics make the idea of retribution too hard with their belief in purgatory, but evangelicals make forgiveness too cheap with their all-is-forgiven theology. The latter think they are in a win-win situation and the former are not allowed to have security of salvation. Both are wrong.

By abiding in Jesus, we will produce an abundance of fruit. When we are not in continual fellowship with Him, we will be like the fig tree that had the appearance of fruit, but upon closer examination, there was no fruit. (Matthew 21:19)

The Bible: A Product Of The Human Imagination

Sat, 08 Apr 2017 14:49:59 -0500

One thing that apparently humans excel at relative to other species is having an imagination. Witness the multi-thousands upon thousands of fantastic science fiction and fantasy and mythological tales attributed to the human imagination and human authorship. Since the Bible is full of such fantastic mythological and supernatural-themed stories, it's not unreasonable to postulate that the Bible too is just a product of pure human imagination.

Why Prayers Don't Work

Fri, 07 Apr 2017 08:54:54 -0500

Rattling off scripted prayers written by religious people often centuries ago does nothing for anyone. When the roots of those prayers are examined the reality is that they are part of the blinding of humanity and the burying of the truth. It is rather astounding to think that most people cannot put enough words together to ask God about their lives or where they are supposed to be heading.

Atheism - Is It Really Reasonable?

Thu, 06 Apr 2017 07:04:33 -0500

Following Richard Dawkins and other high-profile atheists, many people have the idea that atheistic belief relies on the wonderful powers of human reason. The thought has become commonplace; atheism is super-reasonable, while Christianity is super-daft nonsense. Popular atheistic belief needs to be teased out a little to see what in fact it relies on.

Exclusive Interview With the Historical Jesus

Wed, 05 Apr 2017 14:12:31 -0500

Although we hold no brief with invisible friends in the sky-not the nine choirs of angels, the eight maids a-milking, the heavenly hosts a-dancing, or the figments of anybody's fevered second-rate imagination-we are fascinated with the Historical Jesus, the apocalyptic prophet and rabble-rouser who did exist and who was crucified by Roman authorities, and about whom nothing much else can be said for sure, unless you are willing to credit the bilge water about Jesus the Christ concocted by Saint Paul and the other charlatans whose "work" makes up the New Testament. We emphatically are not.

The Scientific Priest

Mon, 03 Apr 2017 07:16:32 -0500

Religions differ in the kind and degree of abstinence advocated to their priests. Priesthood that dictates sexual abstinence expects the priest to extend his practice of abstinence to his sexual realm. Total surrender and wholehearted devotion to the deity or an ideal is the major religious-- strategy advocated for taming the drive sex which is the cardinal medium through which life perpetuates itself on the surface of the planet. Attempts made to investigate into the factors that debilitate aspiring priests to accomplish their vocational purpose through abstinence must not be deemed as anti- spiritual
