Posey Humane Society receives grant to benefit cats

The Humane Society received a $1,000 grant to benefit cats they care for.  Each week, their organization gets hundreds of calls about feral cats. We're told a portion of this fund will help them trap, neuter and release them. PHS officials tell us they plan to trap a lot of cats within the next week. If the public would like to get their own pet spay or neutered PHS will provide transport.

Sheriff: Gun permit applications in Warrick Co. expected to increase in December

Across the country, gun permits applications skyrocket in December. One local sheriff's office is urging people to apply early this year if you want to avoid long wait times. Warrick County Sheriff Brett Kruse is urging people to beat the rush. He says people who know they want a gun permit, should start the application process now if they can, rather than waiting.

Three arrested in Dubois Co. on drug and gun related charges

Three people are in jail on meth charges. Authorities say they went to serve a warrant at a home on the 800 block of 8th Street in Huntingburg. Deputies say they found 10 grams of meth in several baggies and a handgun inside the home.

On Thursday, the teacher accused of raping a student of hers has waived her preliminary hearing. Courtney Davis, 27, chose to waive her hearing with her attorney present. Up next is a grand jury, that is scheduled for sometime in late December.
