If Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking’s foreboding pronouncements about the dangers of Artificial Intelligence don’t have you spooked enough, MIT has deliberately launched a project that is designed to make AI scary. Or, at least, to make scary images using deep learning.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show reboot (aka Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do The Time Warp Again, aka RHPS: LDTTWA, aka kill me now) aired Friday night, and it definitely looks like we might’ve seen the end of Fox’s foray into TV movie musicals. The Laverne Cox-led production got about 5-million viewers, which is less than half the 12-million total the network saw from Grease: Live in January. By all accounts, that’s dangerously close to a flop for a major TV event. But what went wrong?

Director Nikhil Bhagat has released a short film about a man who hunts and kills fallen angels, penned by Doctor Strange writer C. Robert Cargill. And damn, I think it’s high time for a Constantine reboot from these guys.

The internet can be a bad and scary place. Yesterday, we were offered a moment of reprieve when many websites went down, struck by a massive DDoS attack. But the internet is back today and everything is flowing just like it always has. An alt-right troll tweets a Nazi Pepe at a Jewish journalist. An asshole from your high school posts an #AllLivesMatter rant on Facebook. The world continues to turn.

Japanese artist Ei Wada specializes in turning old consumer electronics into new musical instruments. He’s rigged up old CRT TVs to simultaneously function like bongos, transformed AM/FM radios to squeal like a theremin, and converted a busted office fan into a wailing guitar. That and more, it all seems to bring him endless joy.

A somewhat surprising reveal from the latest episode of Fox’s The Exorcist confirmed it ties directly into the events of the first film. It’s perfect if you were curious to find out what happened after the end of the original flick, and maybe want to pretend like the sequels don’t exist.

AT&T will reportedly pay between $105 and $110 a share for Time Warner. According to another anonymous source, the deal is half-cash, half-stock.

It seems that some publishers have found a nice little loophole to avoid violating Facebook’s terms of service for sponsored content. An entire industry has popped up around paying celebrities to share articles without indicating that the content is essentially sponsored.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump has a penchant for lawsuits, much like another Republican convention speaker. Today Trump gave a speech in Gettysburg, where he vowed to sue the many, many women who have accused him of sexual abuse. The Republican nominee said he is fighting “the power structure,” and that his administration would not approve of AT&T trying to buy Time Warner “and thus, CNN.”

Back in the summer of 2015, actor James Woods sued a semi-anonymous Twitter user for $10 million after the user called him a “cocaine addict.” The lawyers representing the Twitter user appealed to have the lawsuit thrown out, but the appeal was recently dropped because the defendant died. The response from Woods? He hopes the guy died screaming his name.

As the election nears, our country can at times feel like a hideous and hateful place. Let this map of the United States’ river basins made by Imgur user Fejetlenfej remind you that, at the very least, our country can be beautiful. Fejetlenfej—a geographer who sells their maps on Etsy—created the image using QGIS software, which is an open-source geographic information system. The map depicts both“the permanent and temporary streams and rivers,” the creator explained. They divided the streams into catchment areas, which show when rainfall flows into a river, lake, or reservoir. Using the Strahler Stream Order Classification, which is a system used by geologists to define stream sizes, Fejetlenfej explained that on the map, “the higher the stream order, the thicker the line.”

According to the Telegraph, the World Health Organization will change its definition of disabilities to classify people without a sexual partner as “infertile.” The controversial new classifications will make it so that heterosexual single men and women, as well as gay men and women who are seeking in vitro fertilization to have a child, will receive the same priority as couples. This could make access to public funds for IVF available to all.

Hiking from Mexico through the United States and all the way up to Canada on the Pacific Coast Trail is just a little bit beyond a stroll in the park. It took Andrew Holzscuh, the hiker in the video, 166 days to take on over 2,600 miles. He got it done with only four pairs of shoes. This time lapse doesn’t show the actual trail (you can watch a different hiker do that here), just shots of his shoes everyday. It’s neat to see all the different terrain on the trail.

I’m not into Halloween, but I appreciate the people who really, really love it. You know the types, the ones that plan out elaborate costumes decades in advance, the folks who decorate their houses so well that it rivals the haunted houses of theme parks, the people who buy the best candy, the people who host the best parties, etc. Those people make everyone feel better on a day where we don’t have to be ourselves.

This glorious menagerie of dick-esque space-oblongs does not contain any actual dicks. Instead, it’s the result of an image manipulation experiment. A month ago, Yahoo launched an open-sourced neural network, called “open_nsfw,” that rates images on a scale of 0 (SFW) to 1 (NSFW). So Gabriel Goh created a Google DeepDream-like visualization technique to mess with it.

Things can get lost in translation, especially when something is translated to a foreign language and then translated back to the original language. Like movie titles. The Czech Republic can really get loose and wild with the names for American movies, and finding out what some popular movies are called over there is pretty damn funny.

When the House of Tomorrow was completed in 1933 it gave visitors a sneak peek at the shiny, optimistic future that was to come—all twelve sides of it. Today, this relic of the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair sits in disrepair. But preservationists are hoping to change that with the announcement of a new campaign to restore the house to its former glory.
